The family is the first environment that shapes a child's personality and social behavior. However, in broken homes, emotional conditions and parenting patterns are often disrupted due to separation or the absence of one parent. This has an impact on the process of shaping children's social behavior in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the social behavior of children from broken homes in Kampung Aur, Kelurahan Aur, Medan City. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used. The main informants consisted of five children from broken homes who were selected using the snowball technique. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the study showed that the children's social behavior had not developed optimally in most indicators, namely cooperation, sharing, competition, empathy, sympathy, imitation, social support, and social acceptance. The main obstacles arise from inconsistent parenting patterns, lack of emotional support, and an unsupportive social environment. Therefore, the active involvement of parents, guardians, and the community is essential to shape and nurture children's social behavior in a sustainable manner.

This study analyzes the role of families and caregivers at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya Denpasar in implementing elderly care programs and examines the implications of these programs for the quality of life of older adults. Using a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Two theoretical frameworks guided the analysis: Carrolyn Smith-Morris’ Social Support Theory, which highlights the importance of emotional, informational, and instrumental support for elderly well-being, and Robert J. Havighurst’s Activity Theory, which states that active involvement in social, physical, and spiritual activities enhances happiness and life satisfaction in old age. The findings show that families’ involvement remains limited due to time and distance constraints, yet their emotional presence still contributes positively to the psychological comfort of the elderly. Caregivers play a dominant role in meeting the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents. The care program demonstrates positive implications, including improved health stability, increased social interaction, strengthened feelings of appreciation, and enhanced spiritual peace. Additionally, Balinese cultural values such as tatwam asi and menyama braya reinforce empathy, togetherness, and respectful relationships within the care system. The study concludes that synergy between families, caregivers, and local cultural values forms a crucial foundation for a meaningful and humane elderly care system.

Emesis gravidarum is a common condition experienced by pregnant women during the first trimester and can negatively affect maternal comfort, nutritional intake, and overall pregnancy well-being. Various biological and psychosocial factors are believed to influence its occurrence, including pregnancy interval and the level of family support. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between pregnancy interval and family support with the incidence emesis gravidarum among first-trimester pregnant women. A quantitative analytic study with cross-sectional design was conducted involving 30 pregnant women in their first trimester. Data were collected using structured questionnaires to assess pregnancy interval, family support (emotional, informational, instrumental, and appraisal support), and the incidence of emesis gravidarum. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS, including univariate analysis to describe respondent characteristics and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test to determine the relationships between variables, with a significance level set at p < 0.05. The results showed that short pregnancy intervals were significantly associated with a higher incidence of emesis gravidarum. In addition, pregnant women who reported low levels of family support were more likely experience moderate severe emesis gravidarum compared to those receiving adequate support. Statistical testing confirmed that both pregnancy interval and family support had significant relationship with the occurrence of emesis gravidarum. In conclusion, pregnancy interval and family support are important factors influencing the incidence of emesis gravidarum in the first trimester. Strengthening family involvement and promoting optimal pregnancy spacing are recommended as part of comprehensive antenatal care to reduce pregnancy discomforts and improve maternal health outcomes.

Family planning represents a community-based effort to promote awareness and participation through delaying the age of marriage, regulating births, strengthening family resilience, and improving family welfare to achieve small, joyful, and prosperous families (Suriana et al., 2021). The government targets Couples of Reproductive Age (CRA) to reduce population growth in Indonesia, as CRA consists of legally married couples who actively engage in sexual relations that may result in pregnancy. In addition to CRA, postpartum mothers also serve as a key target group in family planning programs. The “Four Too” components contribute to high-risk pregnancies that may lead to complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and maternal and infant mortality. These include being too young (under 20 years), too old (over 35 years), too many children (more than four), and too close birth spacing (less than two years) (Oktarina, 2022). This study employed a quantitative research design, specifically an analytical quantitative approach with a correlational design using the cross-sectional method. The sample consisted of 40 participants. The results show that 45% of respondents had a satisfactory level of knowledge about IUD contraception, 32.5% had a moderate level, and 22.5% had a low level of knowledge. In nursing practice, increasing knowledge about contraception—particularly IUD family planning—can enhance interest in its use. Moreover, the study recommends that husbands provide support for mothers in using IUD contraception.

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the low participation of Catholic Youth in spiritual activities at St. Mikhael Kotabaru Parish. The research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. Research subjects consisted of one Catholic Youth coordinator and six members selected purposively to represent diverse perspectives. Data collection techniques included unstructured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the low participation of Catholic Youth is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include low motivation, shyness, lack of self-confidence, unstable physical conditions, and the excessive use of social media, which often distracts youth from engaging in church life. Meanwhile, external factors consist of economic limitations, heavy school and work commitments, insufficient mentoring from religious leaders, negative peer influence, and minimal family support. These challenges collectively contribute to the declining interest and active involvement of Catholic Youth in spiritual activities. This research highlights the urgency of creating innovative spiritual activity programs that are more attractive and relevant to the needs of young people in the current era. In addition, optimizing mentoring and guidance from parish leaders, parents, and peers is crucial to strengthen motivation and a sense of belonging among Catholic Youth. By addressing both internal and external factors simultaneously, the church community can foster a more participative and dynamic youth movement. Therefore, strategic collaboration among religious leaders, families, and the youth themselves is essential in revitalizing Catholic Youth participation in church life.

This study highlights the significant role of students at SMA Tahfidz Khairunnas Surabaya in promoting the values of moderate Islam within the urban metropolitan context of Surabaya. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of moderate Islamic education is reflected in four core principles: At-Tawazun (balance), At-Tawasuth (moderation), At-Tasamuh (tolerance), and Al-Adl (justice). These values are supported by the family, school, and community environment, which collectively contribute to shaping students’ understanding and practice of moderation. The results further suggest that fostering moderate Islamic values in metropolitan society requires both maturity and contextual comprehension, enabling communities to internalize and apply these principles effectively. The involvement of students in disseminating moderate values represents an essential step toward strengthening critical thinking, moral integrity, and social ethics in accordance with Islamic moderation. Therefore, the educational practices at SMA Tahfidz Khairunnas not only contribute to individual student development but also serve as a catalyst for cultivating a more harmonious, tolerant, and balanced urban society.

Fishermen are an essential group in supporting national food security; however, their lives are still characterized by various social and economic challenges, such as unstable income, low education levels, and high household expenditure burdens. This research aims to provide an overview of the socio-economic conditions and welfare of Bouke Ami fishermen in the Nusantara Fisheries Port (PPN) Muara Angke, North Jakarta, through the Fishermen’s Exchange Rate (NTN) and Fishermen’s Exchange Rate Index (iNTN). The study was conducted in May–June 2025 using a descriptive method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 100 Bouke Ami crew members (ABK). The results showed that the majority of crew members were aged 30–39 years, had completed only junior high school education, received health services through community health centers (puskesmas), had three family dependents, and most lived in their own homes. The average total monthly income of Rp5.733.500 is considered high as it exceeds the 2025 DKI Jakarta minimum wage (UMP) of Rp5.367.381. Meanwhile, the average total expenditure of Rp5.396.761 remains below income, indicating manageable household finances. The NTN value was 1,06 in April and 1,07 in May, resulting in an iNTN of 101%, indicating that Bouke Ami fishermen in PPN Muara Angke, North Jakarta, are at a level of economic welfare classified as prosperous with slight improvement. This increase reflects a modest rise in fishermen’s purchasing power between the two months and can serve as basis for formulating policies aimed at empowering coastal fishermen.

Cyberbullying is a form of online violence that is increasingly widespread in the digital era, with serious impacts on adolescent mental health, such as depression, stress, and anxiety. This study aims to examine the impact of cyberbullying on adolescent mental health through a literature review covering 10 accredited journals indexed by SINTA, Google Scholar, and DOAJ. The method used is a literature review with a comparative analysis approach to previous research findings. The results of the study indicate that victims of cyberbullying often experience decreased self-esteem, emotional disturbances such as shame and fear, and decreased motivation to learn. These disturbances can then increase the risk of depression among adolescents. Decreased self-esteem and increased anxiety also impact their academic performance and social engagement. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that cyberbullying is a significant factor threatening adolescent mental health. Therefore, serious attention is needed from various parties, including schools, families, and communities, to provide protection and psychosocial support to victims. Recommended interventions include digital literacy education, family support, and counseling programs that can help adolescents overcome the negative impacts of cyberbullying and prevent lasting effects on their mental health.

The Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) is a community organization that plays a vital role in improving family welfare in Indonesia. Through various programs, the PKK contributes to family empowerment, particularly in education, health, and economics. However, many PKK activities are still conducted manually, including recording and managing member data and activities. This creates several challenges, such as difficulty in archiving, time-consuming information searches, and difficulties in preparing accurate and timely reports. This research aims to design and develop a web-based information system that can simplify member data management, activity recording, attendance management, and report generation more quickly, efficiently, and accurately. This system will be designed using an object-oriented approach, involving several stages, starting from needs analysis, system design, implementation, and system testing. This information system is expected to improve service efficiency, facilitate PKK administrators in monitoring member activity, and support a more precise and weighted data-based decision-making process. Another advantage is that this system will also facilitate the PKK in producing faster, more comprehensive, and more structured activity reports, thereby increasing organizational transparency and accountability. Therefore, this web-based information system is expected to be a solution to improve the PKK's performance in carrying out its function of empowering family welfare.

This community service activity was carried out to support and strengthen the role of Sunday school teachers in fostering the social and emotional development of preschool children. Early social experiences generally begin in the family, but schools and religious education institutions also play a significant role in shaping children’s abilities to interact, share, and communicate effectively. The program was implemented at PAUD Arastamar Kids Pekanbaru through participatory activities that involved teachers and children. The approach emphasized interactive methods such as giving praise, teaching simple religious values, playing games, and organizing creative learning activities. Examples included origami-making, group singing, storytelling, and encouraging children to share crayons or toys with their peers. These activities not only created a fun and engaging learning atmosphere but also helped children develop empathy, cooperation, and independence. Teachers were guided to consistently integrate these activities into their routines to maximize the positive outcomes. The results of this service showed that Sunday school teachers could effectively encourage positive social-emotional growth by combining religious teachings with play-based and interactive learning. In conclusion, the program provided valuable contributions to strengthening the capacity of teachers while creating a supportive environment for children to interact positively and independently with others.
