This research aims to examine the Islamic economic perspective on home-based businesses in improving the welfare of the people on Miang Island, as well as tracing their development and supporting and inhibiting factors. The method used is field research with a qualitative approach and descriptive techniques, with data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation from primary and secondary sources. The results show that home-based businesses make a real contribution to improving the community's economy by utilizing local potential and applying Islamic values such as honesty, trustworthiness, and fairness in their management. This business is growing rapidly and has become the main alternative to increase family income, while encouraging local economic empowerment. Family support in running the business provides efficiency and strengthens the sense of community, and is supported by community loyalty as regular customers. However, challenges faced include limited capital to expand the business, instability in raw material prices, and competition from larger businesses. These constraints often prevent businesses from increasing their production capacity and reaching a wider market.

This study analyzes the implementation of PKH in Kedungrejo Village, Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach and the policy implementation theory by Van Meter and Van Horn. The findings indicate that the implementation of PKH has been effective, as seen in the implementers’ understanding of the program, inter-agency communication, and stable socio-political support. However, challenges remain, including delays in fund disbursement, limited technical capacity at the sub-district level, and public dissatisfaction with beneficiary data validation. Therefore, the study recommends a more structured disbursement schedule, improved technical capacity of implementers, and the involvement of community leaders in the data collection process to ensure better targeting and sustainability of the program.

JUREKSI (Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance) 2025 STIKes Ibnu Sina Ajibarang

In many developing countries today, the capitalist economic system still dominates. Not infrequently, this system causes various problems when applied in the governance of a country's economy. These problems generally arise because policies, regulations, and public financial management have not been directed at the principles of Islamic economics (sharia). In fact, the public economic system based on sharia provides guarantees for the fulfillment of state needs (income) and people's needs (expenditure). In addition, the rampant practice of misappropriation such as fraud and corruption has also caused the loss of public trust in public economic management. This condition contributes to the economic crisis and exacerbates the suffering of the people. Therefore, to solve these problems, the government needs to adopt a public economic concept based on Islamic values, because this system has been proven to be able to encourage justice and improve social welfare. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The findings in the study indicate that there are various sources of income in the Islamic economy that can be utilized as public finances, such as Ghanimah, Fa'i, Jizyah, Kharaj, Waqf, Nawaib, Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and 'Usr. Meanwhile, state expenditure is allocated to fulfill basic community needs, state defense and administration, education, social security, and development of infrastructure and public facilities.   Keywords: Capitalism, Economic system, Public sector In many developing countries today, the capitalist economic system still dominates. This study aims to analyze the economic and social impacts within the environmental context on the sustainability of catfish farming in Basanah Village. Environmental issues such as water quality, land availability, and land-use changes have significantly affected aquaculture practices. Moreover, the social dynamics of the surrounding community, including patterns of cooperation, public perception of catfish farming, and economic impacts on farmers’ income and welfare, are central to the investigation. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving local farmers, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders. The findings reveal that economic aspects, such as production cost efficiency and income improvement, are highly dependent on stable environmental conditions and strong social support. Conversely, environmental degradation and weak social participation hinder business development. Therefore, participatory-based policies integrating sustainable environmental management with the strengthening of local socioeconomic capacities are urgently needed. This study offers a significant contribution as a foundation for formulating empowerment strategies for environmentally and socially-based small-scale aquaculture enterprises at the village level.

Community Service activities are a real form of students' social concern for their surroundings. This activity was carried out in Kampung Enam with the aim of sharing knowledge and skills with the community and students about how to turn seashell waste into handmade crafts that can be sold. We used a face-to-face approach through socialization and training, one of which was making wall decorations in the shape of flowers. Besides involving the local people, students also took part in this activity so they could develop economic independence. The results showed that seashell waste has promising potential, both economically and socially, especially if developed into small environmentally friendly businesses. Hopefully, activities like this can continue and become an example of how to develop local crafts and increase the income of the people around Kampung Enam, Tarakan.

The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge for mothers at the Garuda 04 Posyandu in Harapan Jaya Bekasi on how to use income to manage a balanced life between the needs of early childhood or toddlers and family needs. The results show that most members of the Garuda 04 Posyandu do not understand properly and correctly how to manage family income properly and correctly from the financial income they earn, such as the difference between needs and wants, budgeting, and the importance of saving and managing the fulfillment of toddler needs for the children they have. The training was conducted in one day with a participatory-educational approach and socialization. Dangke is a local food product with high nutritional value that has become an inseparable part of the culture and economy of the community. It is made from traditional cheese typical of Enrekang Regency. Despite having great potential as a superior regional product, Dangke micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face various obstacles, especially regarding short product durability (expiration date), simple packaging, lack of product innovation, and less than optimal marketing reach. Therefore, strengthening branding and optimizing marketing is crucial to increasing the competitiveness and desirability of Dangke MSMEs. This community service aims to analyze existing conditions, formulate, and implement strategies to strengthen Dangke product branding. The implementation methods include initial surveys, SWOT analysis training, comprehensive training and education on branding (brand identity, visual design), as well as implementation assistance and evaluation of travel impacts. Participatory and community-based approaches are at the heart of this activity. The results of the community service are expected to increase Dangke brand awareness, encourage innovation of derivative products (for example, dangke crackers with innovative flavors and packaging), expand distribution channels (including digital marketing), and ultimately increase sales and income of Dangke MSMEs. This program also has the potential to strengthen the local economy, preserve cultural heritage, and become a model for developing traditional food products in other areas.

This research is motivated by the limited workforce at Risse Convection, where this convection has not been able to increase income significantly due to limited production capacity caused by a lack of qualified workforce. The aim of this research is to provide concrete recommendations for Risse Convection in developing an effective human resource development strategy to deal with workforce limitations and meet demand for sharia clothing products. The following is the essence of the research based on the problem formulation for copra entrepreneurs in Nagari Lansek Kadok: the majority of copra entrepreneurs in Nagari Lansek Kadok, South Rao District, Pasaman Regency, prioritize excellent service to customers and analyze the growth of their business to increase people's income. Because most of the residents of Nagari Lansek Kadok have lower middle class incomes, the community still views the purchase price given by the seller (copra entrepreneur) as reasonable. The business strategies of Nagari Lansek Kadok copra entrepreneurs, the factors that hinder these entrepreneurs, and the development strategies carried out by traders in this area are things that need to be improved if the residents of Nagari Lansek Kadok, South Rao District, Pasaman Regency can make improvements. to see an increase in their income. The reason behind this is that they continuously incorporate new ideas into the development of their company. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the human resource development strategy to overcome the limited workforce in Risse Convection Sungai Pua, Agam Regency is: 1. Lack of workforce at Risse Konveksi resulted in reduced production of sharia clothing on the market, workforce competency occurred due to the lack of special training for employees, resulting in the work being completed more slowly or not on time. To overcome this problem, Risse Convection implements an annual reward system, and employee training is carried out personally. For new employees, Risse Convection uses its convection advantages in innovative sharia clothing designs to be able to recruit employees from the surrounding area or outside the village/nagari as well as the use of social media to promote new design innovations to reach a wider audience and increase brand visibility. 2. By using the SO (Strength-Opportunity) strategy method, namely optimizing existing strengths by taking advantage of existing opportunities. The SO (Strength-Opportunity) strategy that can be applied in increasing employment at Risse Convection is: utilizing excellence in innovative sharia clothing design to recruit employees from the surrounding area or outside the village/nagari and maintaining an annual reward system for employees who work hard to improve motivation and productivity.

This study analyzes the impact of sustainable tourism concept implementation on the community of Tobati-Enggros Village, Jayapura City. Using qualitative descriptive methods with in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving 35 informants, this research evaluates three pillars of sustainability: economic, socio-cultural, and environmental aspects. The findings show that sustainable tourism implementation achieves a moderate effectiveness score of 2.7. Economically, tourism creates new employment opportunities and increases community income by 25%-400%, but benefits distribution remains unequal with 70% of profits controlled by 30% of residents. Socio-culturally, tourism helps preserve the unique "Women's Forest" tradition while causing erosion in traditional practices like gotong royong (community cooperation). Environmentally, significant ecosystem degradation occurs with water quality declining 56% and mangrove forest coverage reducing by 10%. The study recommends strengthening community-based tourism institutions, implementing comprehensive waste management systems, and developing community capacity building programs to optimize sustainable tourism benefits while preserving environmental and cultural integrity.

This research discusses the process of relocating residents from informal settlements under the Pasopati Bridge to Simple Rental Flats (Rusunawa) in Solokan Jeruk, Bandung Regency. This relocation is a policy of the Bandung City Government and West Java Provincial Government to organize extreme slum areas and provide adequate housing for low-income people. Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this research analyzes the mechanisms for implementing relocation, the actors involved, and the social and economic impacts experienced by residents after relocation. The research results show that although relocation provides access to more adequate housing and basic facilities, residents face serious challenges in terms of social adaptation, loss of community networks, increased economic burden, and loss of old sources of livelihood. Relocation also causes psychosocial pressure and shifts in the structure of social interactions due to changes in the physical environment and social norms in the flat. This study emphasizes the importance of a participatory approach and comprehensive post-relocation interventions, including economic, social and psychological support, so that relocation is not just a physical transfer, but also a sustainable life transformation for affected residents.
