In the era of globalization, children are exposed to a social environment influenced by external factors such as social media, advertising, and a consumer culture, all of which can promote a materialistic lifestyle. Consequently, financial literacy education has become essential to equip children with the necessary skills to manage their finances effectively. Beginning with a simple understanding of accounting, children can learn fundamental concepts of money management, financial decision-making, and planning. However, many young children still lack access to this vital education. Various learning methods and media, including loose parts, storytelling, and interactive educational tools, can be utilized to foster financial understanding. Additionally, this education promotes important social concepts like sharing, charity, and the responsibility of managing finances to help others. It integrates Islamic principles, emphasizing values such as honesty, justice, transparency, and the avoidance of usury. Through these principles, children are not only taught how to manage their personal finances but also how to contribute to society. By implementing financial literacy education at an early age, we can help children grow into informed, ethical, and responsible leaders in the future. This education is crucial for ensuring they make sound financial choices and contribute positively to their communities.

This study examines inclusive education for children with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD), who often experience significant challenges in social interaction and academic adaptation. The primary objective is to evaluate existing educational approaches and strategies implemented in Indonesia, while also identifying gaps in current research and practice. This study employs a literature review method, analyzing 20 relevant scientific articles to synthesize key findings and trends. The results indicate that structured approaches such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) have proven effective in improving students’ behavioral outcomes, emotional regulation, and academic performance. These approaches emphasize proactive strategies, skill development, and supportive learning environments. However, several persistent challenges hinder optimal implementation, including limited teacher knowledge and training in inclusive practices, insufficient institutional support, and a lack of access to professional psychological services. Additionally, inconsistencies in policy implementation across regions contribute to unequal educational experiences for children with EBD. Based on these findings, the study highlights the importance of strengthening teacher capacity through continuous professional development and increasing access to multidisciplinary support systems. Furthermore, effective collaboration among teachers, parents, schools, and the wider community is essential to foster inclusive, adaptive, and responsive educational environments that can meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Adolescents affected by parental divorce face increased risks of mental health challenges, often exacerbated by custody disputes, post-separation abuse, and institutional inadequacies. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of trauma-informed, family-based interventions and custody-related policy reforms that promote adolescent mental health, with a focus on the integration of the Islamic principle of maslahah as an ethical framework. A systematic review was conducted using three databases (ScienceDirect, PubMed, Scopus) covering publications from 2000 to 2024. Inclusion criteria focused on empirical studies addressing interventions, custody policies, and mental health outcomes in adolescents aged 10–21. Findings reveal that Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) reduces behavioral issues and improves emotional regulation; Multisystemic Therapy and Wraparound Services prevent custody relinquishment and support family cohesion. Legislative reforms like the Family First Prevention Services Act have shown promise in redirecting funding toward prevention, yet face significant implementation disparities. Reports of healthcare obstruction and court-induced trauma remain critical threats to adolescent well-being. The review also found that custody loss, particularly among adolescent parents, correlates with increased substance use and long-term psychosocial instability. The integration of maslahah into legal and mental health frameworks provides a culturally grounded approach to trauma-informed reform. These findings emphasize the need for cross-sectoral collaboration, standardized trauma protocols, and culturally responsive service models. This study advances a holistic understanding of adolescent welfare in custody contexts and identifies pathways for ethical and sustainable reform.

This study was motivated by the low level of independence among Group B children at PAUD Matahari, Tohe Village, Raihat District, Belu Regency. Initial observations revealed that most children still depended on teacher assistance in completing learning activities, particularly in puzzle-solving tasks. Independence is a crucial developmental aspect in early childhood, as it relates to children’s ability to make decisions, complete tasks independently, build self-confidence, and develop a sense of responsibility. Therefore, appropriate instructional strategies are needed to stimulate the development of children’s independence through meaningful and educational play activities. The purpose of this study was to improve children’s independence through puzzle activities. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 12 children (6 boys and 6 girls). Data were collected using observation sheets with assessment categories: Very Well Developed, Developed as Expected, Beginning to Develop, and Not Yet Developed. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods by calculating the percentage of improvement in each cycle. The results indicated a significant increase in children’s independence from Cycle I to Cycle II. Thus, puzzle activities proved effective in enhancing the independence of Group B children at PAUD Matahari.

Instilling saving habits from an early age is an essential component of character education, particularly in fostering discipline, responsibility, and independence. Initial observations at PAUD Nurul Islam, Jelutih Village indicate that early childhood saving interest remains relatively low due to limited engaging learning media and the absence of structured habituation. This Community Service Program (KKN) aims to foster early childhood saving interest through creative piggy bank media aligned with children’s developmental characteristics. The implementation method comprised planning, execution, and evaluation stages. During execution, children were introduced to saving concepts through simple storytelling and interactive dialogue, followed by hands-on creation of creative piggy banks using simple, child-friendly materials. These piggy banks were then used to habituate saving behavior. The results demonstrate increased enthusiasm and saving interest among children, reflected in their willingness to set aside money and heightened responsibility toward their piggy banks. Therefore, creative piggy bank media serve as an effective alternative learning tool for fostering saving interest and positive character development among early childhood learners at PAUD Nurul Islam, Jelutih Village.

Background: Malaria transmission in Indonesia exhibits substantial spatial and temporal heterogeneity, particularly between stable endemic areas and remote outbreak-prone areas. Although routine surveillance is crucial for malaria control and elimination efforts, its limitations can obscure early warning signals, particularly in geographically isolated areas. Objective: This study aimed to analyze malaria epidemiology by integrating routine surveillance data from endemic primary health care settings with results from high-mortality outbreak investigations in remote highland districts in Indonesia, focusing on temporal trends, spatial clustering, Plasmodium species patterns, diagnostic gaps, and mortality. Methods: A mixed epidemiology approach was used. A retrospective longitudinal analysis of routine malaria surveillance data was conducted for the period 2023–2025 in endemic settings, while a cross-sectoral outbreak investigation was conducted in remote highland districts. Descriptive analyses were conducted to assess trends, demographic characteristics, species distribution, spatial heterogeneity, case detection methods, and outbreak-related mortality. Results: Routine surveillance data revealed fluctuations in malaria transmission, with a significant decline in cases in 2024 followed by a sharp increase in 2025. Conversely, outbreak investigations documented high case fatality rates, particularly affecting children and older adults, caused by delayed diagnosis, limited diagnostic capacity, and limited access to timely treatment. Conclusions: These results highlight the dynamic and context-dependent nature of malaria epidemiology in Indonesia. Integrating routine surveillance with outbreak investigations provides a comprehensive understanding of endemic trends and systemic vulnerabilities. Strengthening adaptive surveillance, improving diagnostic capacity, and implementing spatially targeted interventions are crucial for preventing outbreaks and reducing malaria-related mortality, particularly in remote and high-risk areas.

This study aims to analyze the impact of the family environment on effective communication skills in early childhood. The family environment, as the first and foremost setting, plays a crucial role in shaping children's communication skills, both through parenting styles, verbal interactions, and the emotional atmosphere within the home. The research method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis techniques, which focuses on describing phenomena based on data obtained through observation and literature review. The results show that children who grow up in a communicative, supportive, and responsive family environment tend to have better communication skills, such as the ability to express opinions, listen well, and interact effectively with others. Conversely, a less harmonious family environment with minimal interaction can hinder the development of children's communication skills. Thus, it can be concluded that the family environment has a significant influence on the effective communication skills of early childhood, so the role of parents is essential in creating a positive and constructive communication atmosphere within the family.

Childhood tuberculosis remains a significant public health challenge, particularly in developing countries where malnutrition and limited diagnostic resources increase disease severity and mortality. Children are at high risk of rapid progression from latent infection to active disease due to immature immune systems. We report a case of a 1-year-old girl presenting with cough, fever, shortness of breath, and poor growth. Chest radiograph showed consolidation and infiltrates in the right paracardial area consistent with pulmonary tuberculosis. The patient was treated with first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs, including rifampicin and pyrazinamide, along with nutritional support, resulting in significant clinical improvement and discharge on day eight. This case emphasizes the importance of early recognition and management of tuberculosis in young children with risk factors such as malnutrition and incomplete immunization. Preventive strategies such as BCG vaccination, contact screening, family education, and access to tuberculosis preventive therapy are essential to reduce morbidity and mortality in childhood TB.

Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) in children often results in joint stiffness, muscle weakness, limited range of motion, and gait impairment following surgical management and immobilization. Early physiotherapy intervention is essential to restore hip function and walking ability. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of active exercise on functional walking in outpatient children aged 3–5 years after DDH surgery. A case study design was conducted on three female patients who completed a five-week rehabilitation program consisting of ten active exercise sessions, including hip strengthening, mobility training, and balance exercises, combined with a home program. Outcome measures included hip range of motion, Manual Muscle Testing, and Modified McKay and Harris Hip Score assessed at baseline, mid-intervention, and post-intervention. The results showed improvements in hip range of motion, particularly in flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and external rotation, while internal rotation improved but did not reach normal values. Muscle strength increased from grade 1–2 to grade 3 in most hip muscle groups. Functional walking scores improved from poor to good and excellent, with patients achieving independent, symmetrical gait without pain. These findings indicate that active exercise is an effective rehabilitation approach to reduce impairments and enhance functional walking in children after DDH surgery. The study highlights the importance of structured physiotherapy and caregiver involvement to optimize recovery and participation in daily activities.

The development of digital technology and social media, particularly TikTok, has significantly influenced the learning behavior of elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the impact of TikTok use on the learning behavior of sixth-grade elementary school students through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were collected from Google Scholar following the PRISMA guidelines, resulting in 200 initial articles, which were then selected to obtain 12 articles relevant to the Indonesian context. The synthesis results show that TikTok has a dual impact. On the positive side, TikTok increases creativity, digital skills, self-confidence, interest in learning, and provides access to interesting and interactive educational content. However, excessive use without supervision has negative effects, such as decreased discipline, concentration, and motivation to learn, the emergence of academic procrastination, and changes in behavior and language that are inappropriate. These findings confirm that the influence of TikTok is greatly affected by parental supervision, the role of teachers, digital literacy, and student self-regulation. Therefore, it is necessary to use TikTok wisely, purposefully, and in an integrated manner in educational policies so that its benefits are optimized and its risks can be minimized.
