Learning English as a Foreign Language English as a Foreign Language still faces various linguistic and psychological challenges, both in school-age and adult learners, such as limited vocabulary mastery, pronunciation difficulties, and low confidence in the use of English orally. This condition is exacerbated by affective factors in the form of anxiety and fear of making mistakes. This article aims to examine the use of songs as a learning medium that is able to create a fun learning atmosphere, while improving learners' English skills. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of semi-structured interviews to explore learners' perceptions and experiences related to the effectiveness of songs in English language learning. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of learning experiences, especially in terms of vocabulary mastery, classroom atmosphere, and confidence level. The results showed that the integration of songs in English learning was highly motivating in the active involvement of learners. Where the repetition of lyrics combined with melodies helps to strengthen vocabulary retention in long-term memory, as well as facilitate the imitation of pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm of language naturally. At the same time, it creates a relaxed and fun learning atmosphere, thereby lowering psychological barriers as described in the Affective Filter Hypothesis. Thus, songs are an integrative learning medium that is effective in bridging the academic needs and emotional comfort of learners, and is relevant to support the development of listening and speaking skills in English learning across ages.

This study aims to investigate curriculum development strategies in five countries—Finland, Indonesia, the United States, Japan, and Singapore—through a qualitative library research approach. Curriculum reform has become a global priority in response to rapid technological advancement, globalization, and changing educational demands. This study reviews 50 scholarly sources, consisting of 10 references for each country, including journal articles, policy documents, and official government reports. The analysis focuses on key aspects of curriculum development, namely governance structure, curriculum orientation, teacher autonomy, assessment practices, and technology integration. The findings indicate that while all five countries emphasize competency-based learning and the integration of technology to improve learning quality, they differ significantly in curriculum governance, flexibility, and implementation strategies. Finland and the United States demonstrate higher levels of decentralization and teacher autonomy, whereas Indonesia, Japan, and Singapore apply more centralized curriculum systems. Common challenges identified include ensuring educational equity, enhancing teacher readiness, and adapting curricula to rapid societal and technological changes. This study contributes to a comparative understanding of international curriculum strategies and provides insights for improving curriculum design through evidence-based and technology-supported approaches.

This study aims to analyze strategies for optimizing the management of the library of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) of Sumatera Utara Province in carrying out its role as an authoritative center for Islamic literacy and information. As an institution overseeing the Pendidikan Tinggi Kader Ulama (PTKU), the library holds a strategic position but faces challenges in terms of standardization and digital adaptation. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative study examining aspects of collection management, compliance with the National Library Standards (SNP), and the implementation of information technology. The findings indicate that the MUI North Sumatra Library possesses notable strengths in its collection of centuries-old classical kitab kuning manuscripts and unique documents from scholars’ deliberative forums (muzakarah). Optimization efforts include manuscript digitization using the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS), management training for PTKU students, and the integration of information services through the organization’s official portal. The study concludes that strengthening human resource capacity, ensuring sustainable budget support, and meeting physical facility standards are key factors in transforming the library into an intellectual beacon of Islam in the Media 4.0 era.

This study examines the effectiveness of zakat distribution during the leadership of Umar bin Abdul Aziz and its relevance to poverty alleviation models in Indonesia. Structural poverty remains a persistent challenge in Indonesia’s economic development, requiring systematic and sustainable solutions. Within Islamic economic thought, zakat functions not only as a religious obligation but also as a fiscal instrument capable of promoting social welfare and economic independence. This research employs a qualitative approach through historical and literature study methods, analyzing classical Islamic governance practices alongside contemporary zakat management in Indonesia. The findings reveal that the success of zakat distribution under Umar bin Abdul Aziz was supported by centralized governance, strong institutional reform of Baitul Mal, strict supervision, and integrity-based leadership, resulting in effective wealth redistribution and significant poverty reduction. The study further finds that productive zakat distribution, institutional integration, regulatory reinforcement, and digital transparency are crucial elements for enhancing the performance of zakat institutions in Indonesia. The implications suggest that strengthening governance, accountability, and productive empowerment programs can transform zakat into a strategic socio-economic policy instrument capable of addressing structural poverty in a sustainable manner.

Sexual violence against children in Jambi City continues to show a fluctuating trend, with 32 cases in 2022, decreasing to 24 in 2023, and increasing again to 33 in 2024. This condition emphasizes the importance of strengthening cross-sector case handling between the UPTD PPA Jambi City and the Jambi Police in cases of sexual violence against children. This study aims to analyze the division of labor between the two institutions using the coordination theory according to Hasibuan (2006), which includes indicators of unity of action, communication, division of labor, and discipline. The method used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, documentation, and data triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results show that coordination between the UPTD PPA Jambi City and the Jambi Police has generally been running well, especially in the aspects of unity of action and discipline, as reflected in the alignment of goals and a fairly rapid response in handling cases. Communication between the two agencies has also been ongoing through formal and informal channels to expedite case response. The division of labor has been aligned with each agency's respective authority, with the UPTD PPA focusing on victim assistance and psychological support, while the police handle law enforcement. However, the lack of formal SOPs and MoUs poses a barrier to strengthening sustainable institutional integration. The implications of this research emphasize the need to strengthen formal mechanisms, regular evaluation forums, and formal cooperation agreements to enhance effective coordination and comprehensive protection for child victims.

This study examines the role of local governments in improving the quality of public services as part of an initiative to achieve responsive governance that prioritizes the public interest. This study departs from the limitations of previous research, which tends to focus on the technical aspects of service quality, while the strategic role of local governments as the primary actors in improving the quality of public services remains underexplored. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of local governments in improving the quality of public services and identify factors influencing the optimization of this role. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach through a literature review analyzing various secondary sources such as scientific books, national and international journals, regulations, and reports from relevant official institutions. The study findings indicate that local governments play a significant role in improving the quality of public services through three main dimensions: a community-focused service orientation, technology-based service innovation, and strengthening inclusive and collaborative service management. The integration of these three dimensions supports more efficient, transparent, and responsive public services to community needs. This research provides a conceptual contribution to the field of public administration, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the role of local governments as a key factor in sustainably improving the quality of public services.

Three-phase induction motors are essential components in industrial cooling systems that require reliable overcurrent protection to maintain operational continuity and prevent equipment damage. In the Cooling Tower Pump panel at PT DongJin Indonesia, a limitation was identified where the terminal of the Electronic Overcurrent Relay (EOCR) could not accommodate the 50 mm² power cable, preventing direct current measurement. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating a 200:5 A Current Transformer (CT) with the EOCR as an adaptive protection solution that is both safe and efficient. The research employs a case study approach through field observation, motor current measurement using a Fluke 303 Clamp Meter, and descriptive analysis of the recorded data. The results indicate that the three motors operate under stable load conditions, with current values ranging from 236.7 A to 275.7 A, while the secondary current detected by the EOCR ranges from 3.7 A to 3.9 A, consistent with the CT transformation ratio. During the starting phase, the current surged to 600.4 A without causing false tripping, demonstrating that the EOCR effectively distinguishes temporary inrush current from actual fault conditions. Therefore, the integration of CT–EOCR is proven to enhance measurement safety, maintain motor operational stability, and support efficient system maintenance in industrial environments.

In contemporary higher education, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is increasingly expected to prepare learners for meaningful professional participation rather than isolated linguistic performance. Nevertheless, ESP pedagogy has often remained predominantly skill-oriented, with limited conceptual integration of pedagogical innovations such as project-based learning and digital learning. This study presents a systematic literature review of 40 peer-reviewed studies examining how ESP pedagogy is being reframed as situated professional practice through the integration of project-based and digital learning. Following the process of thematic synthesis, the review provides an examination of what ESP learning is perceived to be, how it is conducted and how it is evaluated in different disciplines and countries. Results show a marked pedagogical transition from a language-centric approach to one that incorporated more authenticity, collaboration and professional concern. Reported learning attainments go beyond language to cover professional capability, digital literacy, autonomous learning and identity development. Project-based learning authenticates language use in professional workflows, and digital learning environments support multimodal communication reminiscent of the way people work today. This review contends that in combination, these perspectives re-conceptualise the pedagogical nature of ESP as a type of applied professional education ’realised’ within particular social, institutional and discipline specific contexts. By synthesizing empirical evidence across settings, the study offers a conceptual reframing of ESP pedagogy and outlines implications for curriculum design, assessment, and future research in higher education and the social humanities.

This study aims to analyze the fundamental role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the noble character of students using a qualitative approach through literature review techniques. Data were collected from various scientific sources published between 2020 and 2026 and analyzed using content analysis methods, which included stages of reduction, categorization, and conceptual synthesis. The main focus of this study is to examine how PAI teachers integrate the values of tawhid and worship into the daily behavior of students, so that religious education does not merely remain at the cognitive level but manifests in noble character. The findings indicate that PAI teachers play a strategic role as murabbi, mu’allim, and muaddib, whose success is determined by the integration of pedagogical, professional, social, personality, and spiritual competencies. Amid the dynamic challenges of the digital era, teachers are required to revitalize their roles not only as educators but also as moral exemplars (uswatun hasanah) and agents of character transformation. The synergy between teachers' competencies and consistent exemplification is the key to safeguarding the students' morality and fostering a resilient personality in the school environment.

This study examines coordination between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology in managing the Madrasah Education Management Information System EMIS. The main issue is data asynchrony that affects the accuracy of national education planning including budget allocation and the distribution of educational social assistance. This study uses Interorganizational Coordination Theory by B Guy Peters and Collaborative Governance by Ansell and Gash. A qualitative approach was used to analyze the data integration process and bureaucratic obstacles in inter institutional relations. The findings show that coordination between the two ministries influences the accuracy of national education planning. However the coordination is still dominated by a formal administrative approach and has not yet achieved substantive collaboration. The main obstacles include sectoral ego low interoperability of information systems and weak data sharing mechanisms. These conditions lead to data redundancy and information gaps that reduce the quality of policy making. Strengthening coordination through facilitative leadership digital integration across ministries and system automation based on interoperability is needed to improve the accuracy of national education planning.

The creation of institutional signature music is typically understood as a technical compositional process intended to accompany a performance. This study aims to elucidate how the music of the Rene Hu dance is constructed as a medium for representing institutional identity through the integration of local wisdom and organizational values. Utilizing an artistic autoethnographic approach, this research positions the creative experience of the composer as a reflective data source analyzed through both thematic and conceptual lenses. The findings indicate that the composition of Rene Hu music emerges from the interaction of cultural, ecological, and institutional dimensions, all mediated by the composer’s reflection as a strategic agent. The integration of Sentani traditions, the soundscape of Mount Cycloop, and digital technology forms a sonoric identity that represents both cultural legitimacy and the vision of the Papua Province Language Center. This study formulates the Reflective Sonoric Cultural Strategy Model, which explains the mechanisms of identity negotiation within the composition of such signature music. The novelty of this research lies in its conceptualization of institutional music as an arena for identity negotiation analyzed through the composer’s creative journey. This research offers a conceptual framework applicable to the creation of similar representational musical works.

The rapid development of technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has driven the education sector to continuously adapt to the evolving demands of digital-based industries. One of the key technological innovations supporting this transformation is the Internet of Things (IoT), which enables data acquisition, real-time monitoring, and remote control of systems through internet networks. In response to these developments, a community service program was conducted to enhance the understanding and technical skills of students at SMK Negeri 1 Sindang through the provision and utilization of an IoT Trainer Kit Simulator as a practical learning medium. This activity aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-relevant technological applications by introducing students to hands-on IoT system implementation. The program included demonstrations and guided practice on the use of sensors, microcontrollers, and web-based monitoring platforms to simulate real-world industrial scenarios. The results indicate that students showed high enthusiasm and active participation throughout the activity. Moreover, participants were able to grasp the fundamental concepts of IoT systems, understand component integration, and recognize the relevance of IoT applications in supporting automation and digital transformation. Overall, this community service activity contributed positively to strengthening students’ digital competencies and preparedness for the demands of the contemporary industrial and technological landscape.

Hypertension is a chronic disease with a high prevalence worldwide and is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. The management of hypertension not only relies on pharmacological therapy but also requires non-pharmacological interventions as effective complementary therapy. This study aims to analyze the implementation of health education and acupressure therapy in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This descriptive study involved three hypertensive patients from RT 35 Lebung Jaya, Talang Betutu Village, Palembang. The intervention included structured health education and acupressure therapy given over three consecutive days, with a duration of 15-20 minutes per session. The results of this study showed a reduction in systolic blood pressure between 10-20 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure between 2-7 mmHg. Additionally, there was an increase in knowledge and medication adherence among the patients. From these results, it can be concluded that the integration of health education and acupressure therapy can be an effective nursing intervention for hypertension management, particularly in a community setting. The implementation of this method is expected to become an alternative approach in managing hypertension within the community with a more holistic approach.

Pedagogical challenges faced by elementary school teachers remain a critical issue in classroom instruction. Teachers are expected to implement student-centered learning while addressing diverse student characteristics, increasing curriculum demands, limited instructional resources, and various classroom constraints. This study aims to understand and describe the pedagogical challenges experienced by elementary school teachers in classroom instruction through a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected from peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last five years and relevant academic books published within the last ten years. The selected literature was analyzed thematically to identify recurring patterns and key issues related to pedagogical practices. The findings indicate that major challenges include classroom management difficulties, the implementation of differentiated instruction, curriculum adaptation, technology integration, and limited opportunities for professional development. These challenges reveal a persistent gap between pedagogical theories and classroom realities. The study concludes that addressing pedagogical challenges requires not only teacher competence but also strong institutional support, flexible curriculum implementation, and continuous professional development.

This study examines how Perplexity AI is integrated into academic research, particularly its role in research gap analysis and proposal development among university students. Using a qualitative descriptive method and questionnaire data from 32 participants, the research explores students’ perceptions, benefits, and ethical considerations regarding AI- assisted research. The findings reveal that Perplexity AI improves efficiency in literature review and research gap identification, with 75% of students using it to explore research topics and 65.6% acknowledging its usefulness in recognizing trends and gaps. However, concerns remain about accuracy and source reliability, as only 56.3% fully trust AI-generated results, and many still verify information manually. The study concludes that effective use of Perplexity AI requires strong AI literacy that includes critical thinking, verification skills, and ethical awareness. These insights contribute to a broader understanding of human–AI collaboration in academic settings and highlight the need for responsible, well-guided integration of AI tools in research education.

This research aims to describe the process of transforming Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) toward a digital economy through QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) training and the creation of creative banners as promotional media in Batu Karang Village, Karo Regency. Digital transformation has become an essential need for MSMEs to adapt to changes in consumer behavior and rapid technological development. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach focusing on training materials and the implementation process, without using quantitative data or interview results. The findings indicate that QRIS training provides MSME actors with conceptual and practical understanding of digital payment systems that are efficient, secure, and convenient. In addition, creative banner development functions as a visual promotional tool that strengthens business identity and enhances consumer attraction. The integration of QRIS with creative banners creates synergy between digital payment systems and promotional strategies that are relevant to the conditions of rural MSMEs. Overall, this research demonstrates that digital-based training combined with creative promotional media can serve as an effective strategy to enhance MSME readiness in facing the digital economy era in a sustainable manner.

This study explores emotional instability and its impact on happiness, focusing on Positive Psychology, Neurobiology, and Stoicism. It aims to identify factors influencing instability of happiness, including stress, social support, and neurobiological dynamics. The research seeks to develop effective strategies to enhance emotional stability and long-term well-being, contributing to theories and practices for fostering enduring happiness in individuals and society. This study employs a qualitative approach, combining in-depth interviews and document analysis to explore emotional instability and strategies for lasting happiness. Nine participants from psychology, neurobiology, and Stoicism fields share personal experiences through narrative analysis, identifying patterns in happiness fluctuations. A comprehensive literature review enhances findings, ensuring validity, credibility, and a holistic understanding of factors influencing emotional well-being.Research reveals happiness is multifaceted, influenced by psychology, neurobiology, and philosophy. Factors like stress, personality, and social support impact emotional stability. Positive psychology emphasizes gratitude, mindfulness, and cognitive restructuring. Stoicism focuses on self-control, acceptance, and living virtuously. Neurobiology highlights the role of brain chemistry and lifestyle factors like diet and exercise. By integrating these perspectives, individuals can cultivate resilience, manage emotions, and enhance overall well-being.This research examines emotional instability and its impact on happiness, combining insights from Positive Psychology, Neurobiology, and Stoicism. This study explores the integration of community driven learning practices in the adoption of educational technology and its impact on sustainability. With the rapid advancement of digital tools and platforms, higher education institutions have increasingly adopted online and hybrid learning models to enhance teaching and learning. However, despite the potential benefits, aligning institutional goals with community needs remains a significant challenge. This research utilizes a mixed methods approach, combining stakeholder surveys, policy analysis, and comparative case studies to evaluate the effectiveness of both top down and community aligned adoption models. The findings reveal that community driven models, which involve local stakeholders in the decision making process, lead to higher engagement, better adoption rates, and greater long term sustainability compared to top down approaches. Stakeholders, including educators, students, and administrators, reported that participatory decision making fostered a sense of ownership and ensured the relevance of adopted technologies. The study also identifies key sustainability factors, including participatory decision making, long term community engagement, and contextual relevance, which are crucial for ensuring that educational technologies remain effective and beneficial over time. However, challenges such as resistance to change, lack of resources, and unequal access to technology were found to hinder the successful implementation of sustainable models. The research concludes with practical recommendations for educational institutions and policymakers to adopt community aligned models and ensure equitable access to technology. Future research directions are suggested to further explore the balance between institutional innovation and community driven learning, with a focus on long term outcomes and the adaptability of these models across different educational contexts.

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a common complication in early pregnancy characterized by excessive nausea and vomiting that can negatively affect maternal health and quality of life. Although pharmacological management is widely used, concerns regarding medication safety during pregnancy have increased interest in complementary and non-pharmacological interventions. One such approach is aromatherapy, particularly the use of lavender essential oil, which is known for its calming and antiemetic properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy in reducing the frequency of hyperemesis gravidarum among pregnant women at RSUD Tikep. This research employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest approach. A total of 30 first-trimester pregnant women experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum were selected using purposive sampling. The intervention involved inhalation of lavender aromatherapy administered for a predetermined duration and frequency. The frequency of nausea and vomiting was measured before and after the intervention using observation sheets and self-reported records. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, including descriptive statistics, normality tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results demonstrated a significant reduction in the mean frequency of hyperemesis gravidarum following the administration of lavender aromatherapy. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pre-intervention and post-intervention measurements. These findings suggest that lavender aromatherapy effectively reduces the frequency of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. In conclusion, lavender aromatherapy is a safe, low-cost, and effective complementary therapy for managing hyperemesis gravidarum. Its integration into routine antenatal care may enhance maternal comfort and support holistic, patient-centered maternity services, particularly in regional healthcare settings.

This study analyzes the implementation of the Fo Guang Shan vision in developing the talents of Buddhist followers through Dharma education, cultural preservation, and spiritual practice within a multicultural environment. In the context of globalization, Buddhist communities face challenges in maintaining spiritual identity while adapting to diverse social and cultural settings. This research aims to examine how Humanistic Buddhism is applied in talent development programs and to evaluate its relevance in multicultural contexts. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, documentation, reflective notes, and literature review. The findings indicate that the integration of Dharma education, cultural activities, social service, and spiritual practices forms a holistic development model that balances intellectual growth, character formation, emotional maturity, and social responsibility. The implementation demonstrates that talent development is not limited to technical skills but also emphasizes ethical values and spiritual awareness. This model offers a contextual and inclusive framework that can contribute to sustainable Buddhist community development in the era of globalization.
