This study aims to examine the concept of servant leadership based on Matthew 20:20-28 and its relevance to the leadership of pastors in the Pakpak Dairi Protestant Christian Church (GKPPD). The background of this research stems from the dynamics of church leadership, which still faces challenges in realizing the values of service, humility, and relational closeness as taught by Jesus Christ. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach, focusing on the analysis of biblical texts and literature on biblical theology, Christian leadership, and pastoral spirituality. The results of the study show that Jesus introduced a leadership paradigm that is different from the world's pattern, namely leadership that is rooted in service, sacrifice, and love. This principle requires spiritual transformation in church leaders so that their ministry reflects the character of Christ. In the context of GKPPD, the application of servant leadership is important because of the influence of local culture, which emphasizes social structure, and the congregation's need for authentic, relational, and humble leaders. This research confirms that servant leadership is not only theological but also contextual in responding to the challenges of church life, as well as providing theoretical and practical contributions in building a leadership paradigm that is in line with the Gospel and relevant to the local church today.

This study discusses child adoption in the context of Christian theology, focusing on the opinions of the congregation of HKBP Kana Resort Kana Duri. Child adoption is an effort to provide affection and protection to children who do not have biological parents or who have been abandoned, in accordance with the values of love and acceptance taught in the Bible. In the Christian view, adoption is not only seen as a social solution, but also has a deep theological dimension, reflecting the relationship between God and His people as Father and His children. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the congregation's views on child adoption and the challenges they face in implementing this practice. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies, which were then analyzed to understand the theological meaning of child adoption and the congregation's opinions on adoption. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problems that exist are in the personal and social readiness of the congregation, lack of education, and the absence of special assistance from the church as an institution of faith that should be a protector and director in making ethical and moral decisions for its congregation.

This study investigates the metaphorical expressions in the song Golden Hour by JVKE using Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT) by Lakoff and Johnson (1980). The research aims to identify and analyze metaphors that represent emotional experiences, particularly romantic feelings, through the use of concrete and sensory imagery. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the lyrics of Golden Hour were analyzed to uncover how metaphorical language shapes the expression of love and emotional transitions. The findings reveal several dominant metaphor categories such as LOVE IS LIGHT, LOVE IS A JOURNEY, and EMOTION IS ELEVATION. These metaphors transform abstract emotions into vivid, relatable experiences by linking them to concepts like time, nature, and movement. The study concludes that metaphor in song lyrics functions as a cognitive and poetic device that enhances meaning and emotional resonance. The implications of this research highlight the relevance of metaphor analysis in understanding language, thought, and culture, especially in modern musical texts.

Background: Stroke is a health condition that significantly impacts quality of life and causes physical and mental disability, as well as death, in both productive and elderly individuals. The loss of bodily functions in stroke patients can hinder productivity and reduce the fulfillment of ADL (Activities of Daily Living). Dependence in ADL is the inability to perform all or some activities and the need for assistance from others. The high incidence of stroke in patients and its role as a leading cause of disability makes it difficult for stroke patients to perform daily activities, causing mental and emotional disturbances, reducing productivity and quality of life. The loss of independence and mobility in stroke patients necessitates family support, as they play a crucial role in the care and rehabilitation of their loved ones. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and the fulfillment of daily living (ADL) in stroke patients. Methods: This study employed a correlational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. A purposive sampling technique was used for the sample, employing 89 respondents. Data analysis used the Spearman rank sum. Results: The Spearman rank sum analysis yielded a ρ value of 0.000, less than 0.05, and an r value of 0.827 (very strong). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a very strong relationship between family support and the fulfillment of daily needs (ADL) in stroke patients at Sunan Kalijaga Regional General Hospital, Demak.

A disability-friendly church is a concrete manifestation of the Christian faith's call to live out God's love in a tangible way in the lives of its congregation. The presence of people with disabilities in society and within church communities is often viewed as a neglected group, both in terms of physical accessibility, opportunities for participation, and involvement in ministry. However, theologically, people with disabilities are also God's creations, possessing the same dignity as other members of the congregation and deserving of equal space in church life. A disability-friendly church means a church that not only provides physical facilities but also fosters an attitude of acceptance, appreciation, and empowerment for people with disabilities so they can contribute to worship, ministry, and congregational life. This study aims to determine the extent of the efforts of the Indonesian Protestant Christian Church (GKPI)in Labuhanbatu, both in the Labuhanbatu Induk and Labuhanbatu Utara regions, in realizing a disability-friendly church as part of the Church's Three Tasks: Marturia (witness), Koinonia (fellowship), and Diakonia (loving service). The Three Tasks of the Church serve as an important benchmark for assessing the church's success in presenting God's love within the congregation, particularly to vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Thisapproach was chosen because it allowed researchers to understand the experiences, perceptions, and meanings of the participants in depth and context. Data collection techniques included field observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation.Eight informants participated in the research: two people wvith disabilities, two family members of people with disabilities, three church ministers, and one synod leader.

This study aims to reveal the representation of adolescents’ emotional crisis in the music video 0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You) by the South Korean boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach, the research analyzes the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings of the visual elements presented in the music video. The main focus is on how emotional crises such as loneliness, instability, alienation, and inner escape are represented through visual symbols such as a dark and messy room, a burning car, and a character standing alone in an open field. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a critical paradigm, analyzing eight key scenes in the music video that most strongly depict emotional struggles. The scenes were selected based on their symbolic intensity and relevance to adolescent psychological issues. Data analysis was conducted by interpreting visual signs through Barthes’ concepts of denotation, connotation, and myth. The findings reveal that the music video symbolically narrates the psychological struggles of adolescents who are not only physically isolated but also emotionally detached. The visual symbols construct new meanings that represent the social reality of modern youth, burdened by environmental pressures, societal expectations, and the quest for self-identity. Through the myths it creates, the music video functions not only as a medium of entertainment but also as a reflection and critique of adolescents’ psychological vulnerability. Thus, this study contributes to the understanding of emotional representation in popular media, particularly in audio-visual forms such as music videos, while enriching perspectives on how media constructs the narrative of adolescent emotional crises.

This study aims to analyze the representation of national values and friendship in the film Sekawan Limo using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. The film was selected because it combines horror elements with strong local cultural nuances, making it interesting to examine from the perspectives of visual communication, culture, and social values. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with primary data drawn from scenes, dialogues, visual symbols, and narratives within the film. The analysis was conducted through Barthes’ three levels of semiotics: denotation, connotation, and myth. At the denotative level, the film presents visual and verbal signs depicting character interactions and the cultural background of society. At the connotative level, these signs convey deeper meanings related to national values, such as respect for local culture, the importance of unity, and love for the homeland. Meanwhile, friendship values are reflected through solidarity, empathy, mutual support, and sacrifice among the main characters as they face conflicts together. At the myth level, the film illustrates how popular culture can serve as a medium for delivering moral and ideological messages, particularly the importance of preserving national identity while fostering strong bonds of friendship. The findings highlight that local films function not only as entertainment but also as an effective communication medium to convey national and social values to a broader audience. Thus, Sekawan Limo demonstrates that film plays a strategic role in strengthening cultural awareness while instilling moral values.

Families of terminal patients often experience anxiety triggered by the deterioration of the patient’s condition, limited information received, and feelings of loss due to facing separation from their loved ones in a critical situation. This anxiety may occur at varying levels, ranging from mild to panic, and if not properly managed, it can affect the psychological well-being of family members as well as their ability to support the patient. Therefore, appropriate interventions are needed to help reduce the psychological burden of families. One approach that can be applied is mindfulness combined with dhikr, which integrates full awareness with spiritual practice to calm thoughts and emotions. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach without a control group, involving 20 respondents who were family members accompanying terminal patients in the ICU. Respondents were selected using total sampling according to the inclusion criteria. The research instrument consisted of an anxiety observation questionnaire, and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that before the intervention, all respondents experienced anxiety at different levels. After the intervention, there was a significant reduction, with 14 respondents (70%) in the mild anxiety category and 6 respondents (30%) reporting no anxiety. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between pre- and post-intervention. In conclusion, mindfulness and dhikr interventions were effective in reducing anxiety among family members accompanying terminal patients in the ICU. This method can be recommended as a spiritually based psychological support strategy to help families cope with critical situations more calmly and adaptively.

This study examines the quality of a servant of God based on II Timothy 1:6–8 as a foundation for church development and spiritual growth. In reality, the role of God’s servant is often underestimated compared to other leadership roles in society, even though their quality greatly influences the life of the congregation and the direction of church ministry. The purpose of this research is to analyze the criteria for a quality servant of God in ministry, particularly in facing the challenges of the postmodern era, when relativism, individualism, and secularism often weaken spiritual commitment. The method used is a qualitative-analytical approach, with the primary data source being the biblical text of II Timothy 1:6–8, supported by secondary data obtained from theological literature, books, and relevant journal articles. Through exegesis and contextual analysis, this study identifies several essential criteria: the rekindling of spiritual gifts, the spirit of power, love, and self-discipline, as well as the courage to endure suffering for the sake of the Gospel. These characteristics are not only theological ideals but also practical demands for ministers who serve in a complex cultural and social environment. The findings of this study are expected to provide theoretical contributions to theological scholarship, particularly in the field of pastoral leadership and ecclesiology. In addition, the study offers practical guidance for church ministers in developing resilience, integrity, and Christ-centered leadership. The implication emphasizes that servant leadership rooted in character, love, obedience, and readiness to endure suffering is essential for strengthening faith, encouraging church growth, and glorifying God’s name. Therefore, the criteria outlined in II Timothy 1:6–8 remain highly relevant as a timeless foundation for effective ministry in the postmodern context

This study discusses God’s prohibition of adultery as stated in Malachi 2:14–16 and its relevance to contemporary Christian families. Adultery is regarded as a betrayal that not only damages the marital relationship but also violates the sacred covenant with God. The study highlights that an ideal Christian family is one founded on God’s Word, upholding love, faithfulness, and a life of reverence to God. However, in reality, many families face challenges such as individualistic lifestyles, the negative impact of social media, poor communication, and declining spiritual values. Real-life cases, including infidelity leading to violence, reveal the urgency of applying biblical principles to build strong families. Thus, Malachi 2:14–16 serves as a theological foundation affirming the importance of faithfulness and love in preserving the integrity of Christian marriage. Furthermore, poor communication, a lack of mutual understanding, and declining spiritual engagement can strain relationships, making it more difficult to maintain a strong, healthy marriage. These challenges highlight the critical need for Christian families to return to the foundational principles outlined in God’s Word, including the importance of sacrificial love, trust, and mutual respect. The study draws attention to the practical implications of these teachings, urging families to actively engage in spiritual practices, open communication, and mutual support to overcome the pressures of modern life. By doing so, they can create environments where love and faithfulness flourish, ensuring that their relationships remain strong and rooted in the divine covenant established by God. Thus, Malachi 2:14-16 remains highly relevant today as a timeless reminder of the sacred nature of marriage and the importance of nurturing healthy, God-centered relationships in Christian families.

The thesis entitled, "Analysis of the Impact of Worship Based on John 4:23 on the Spiritual Growth of the GBI Patuha Bandung Congregation."John 4:23 can provide the teachings of the Lord Jesus about worship and the extent of its impact on the spiritual growth of the congregation. The research aims to explore how worship in the context of church services affects spiritual growth, including heart transformation, spiritual renewal, and character development in Christ. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the impact of worship based on John 4:23 on the spiritual growth of the congregation at Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Patuha, Bandung. Data were collected through interviews with leaders, activists, and church workers, as well as direct observations in the field. The results show that worship, as described in John 4:24, is a vital aspect of the spiritual life of the GBI Patuha congregation. The church has undergone significant transformation by shifting its focus from teaching to worship, with the aim of deepening a personal relationship with God. Worship is not only an emotional activity but also a means to strengthen faith, renew the spirit, and shape Christ-like character in the lives of the congregation. Worship grounded in the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit positively impacts the church community, encouraging active service and devotion to God and others. The congregation experiences heart transformation and spiritual renewal, which strengthens their relationship with God. Furthermore, worship focused on God encourages the congregation to live in humility, love, and obedience, as well as increasing their enthusiasm for serving. Innovations such as providing digital worship platforms also extend the church’s reach and enhance congregational involvement. This study also recommends the development of more structured worship training to deepen theological understanding and correct worship practices according to biblical principles.

Ruth's life is a depiction of a devout and faithful person. Her simple and obedient life has transformed all aspects of her life. The form of love that Ruth showed to Naomi has opened a great opportunity for Ruth to experience an encounter with Boaz. The bitterness of her life did not make her spirit run aground and disappear. Ruth experienced redemption carried out by Boaz. The expression go'el, which means redemption, is an expression that signifies an act that provides relief and comfort. The marriage of Ruth and Boaz is known as a levirate marriage, and this tradition has been passed down through generations until the New Testament era. Ruth was a woman from Moab. She was not a member of the nation of Israel, but Ruth received the gift of the opportunity to experience redemption. In this scientific paper, the researcher aims to explore the meaning of redemption contained in the Book of Ruth. The entire story of Ruth and Boaz's journey until its culmination, namely Ruth's redemption by Boaz, is a shadow image of God's plan and God's act of execution through the Person of Jesus Christ, namely the redemption of sinful humans that Jesus accomplished on the cross. This research uses a qualitative literature method. The qualitative literature study method used by this researcher is based entirely on literature review. Literature-based research is part of a research proposal, collecting data from sources such as books, articles, journals, online media, and other documents. In the New Testament, there are numerous verses explaining that the atonement for sins was performed only by Jesus Christ. Jesus' atonement is offered to all people, regardless of their nationality, just as Ruth received the gift of redemption from Boaz.

This research is motivated by the challenges faced by today's local church in formulating its missionary goals and work amidst rapid social, cultural, and global changes. These changes often make the church's missionary function appear unclear and lack clear direction, putting the church at risk of carrying out its ministry detached from its biblical identity. Therefore, this research aims to reinterpret the local church's missionary goals and work based on the Apostle Paul's example as a missionary, while also proposing its relevance for church ministry in the current context. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, specifically contemporary missionary theology literature and writings on the Apostle Paul's life and ministry. The results show that, according to Paul, the primary purpose of the church's mission is to educate the congregation through teaching rooted in the truth of the Word, and to bring the congregation into an encounter with Christ through lively worship, expressed in the singing of psalms, praises, spiritual songs, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. The missionary work exemplified by Paul also includes the proclamation of the Gospel, tangible loving service, empowering the congregation to grow as witnesses of Christ, and social transformation as a manifestation of the church's presence in society. These findings confirm that the local church's mission should not only focus on spiritual aspects, but also be holistic, contextual, and relevant to the needs of the times. Thus, the church is called to develop a mission strategy that is both faithful to the Bible and able to meet the challenges of the modern world, thereby providing a complete witness of God's love for the world.

Divine love is the ultimate goal of human life and occupies the highest maqam in the spiritual journey. This love begins from self-love that grows because it always remembers the Creator (Allah), then dissolves in dhikr and deep spiritual contemplation, until a person begins to let go of his attachment to the world and prefers closeness to Allah. Love for Allah is a deep mental condition, in which the beloved (human) is willing to open the veil of his ego in order to welcome the presence of the true Lover (Allah). In this context, Jalaluddin Rumi's thinking is particularly relevant, especially when viewed philosophically as to how Divine love becomes possible to grow in a person. It can also be seen as an answer to the disruptive attempts of Western thought that tend to separate spirituality and human existence. Morality is a principle that is closely related to good and bad in human behavior. Human actions are inseparable from moral judgment, whether they are right or wrong, good or bad. Humans as spiritual beings have an awareness of the meaning and purpose of life, different from other beings who, although intelligent, do not have an existential dimension and transcendent consciousness. This awareness is the basis for the emergence of moral responsibility and the search for the true meaning of life.

Film as a form of mass media has an important role in the socio-cultural, artistic, political, as well as scientific realms. Cek Toko Lado 2 is a continuation of the story of the Chinese family of Koh Afuk which is in the comedy genre and directed by Ernest Prakasa. This film not only presents entertainment, but also presents family dynamics, parental expectations, and challenges in maintaining family business while building trust between fellow family members. The stories presented are able to illustrate the social reality of urban communities who are often faced with a dilemma between family interests and individual freedom. The purpose of this research is to analyze the struggle of Erwin's character in fighting for his love for Natalie and his efforts to get the blessing of his future in-laws. The research method used is qualitative with the approach of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. The data source was obtained through direct observation of scenes and dialogues in the film, and reinforced by documentation and literature studies. The results of the study show that Erwin's struggle can be understood through three main elements in Peirce's semiotics, namely sign, object, and interpretant. First, the spirit of never giving up is reflected in Erwin's consistency in facing various obstacles. Second, the attitude of responsibility can be seen from Erwin's commitment to his career and the romantic relationship he is living. Third, the willingness to sacrifice is evident when Erwin prioritizes personal interests in order to gain the blessing of Natalie's family. In conclusion, this study emphasizes that films not only function as a means of entertainment, but also as a social learning medium that conveys moral messages about struggle, sacrifice, and the importance of trust in family relationships and romance. Thus, Cek Toko Lado 2 is able to be a relevant and inspiring social reflection for the audience, especially urban people who are facing the dynamics of family life and love.

The pitcher plant (Nepenthes sp.) is a type of predatory plant typically found in tropical regions and has a pitcher structure designed to attack insects. The pitcher's structure acts as a small ecosystem that supports a variety of microorganisms, both those living on the surface (epiphytes) and those within the tissue (endophytes). This study aimed to extract and identify microorganisms present on the surface and interior of the pitcher plant. Samples were taken from peat swamps and separated using Nutrient Agar (NA) for bacteria and Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) for fungi. The discovery process involved examining morphological characteristics both visually and under a microscope. The results revealed differences in the types of microorganisms between the outside and inside of the pitcher, influenced by the microenvironmental conditions in each area. These findings can serve as a foundation for further study of the bioactive potential of microorganisms from the pitcher plant.
