The global economic crisis has prompted developing countries, including the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), to strengthen cooperation in creating a multipolar economic order as a form of resistance to Western domination. Mass media plays a crucial role in framing this dynamic. This study aims to examine how The Jakarta Post constructs the BRICS narrative through three main dimensions in Vincent Mosco's Political Economy of Communication theory: commodification, spatialization, and structuring. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques in the form of documentation and analysis of news published in The Jakarta Post between June 18, 2024, and January 31, 2025. Data were categorized based on the type of information and main themes, then analyzed using Mosco's theoretical concepts. The results show that the commodification process occurs when geopolitical issues, such as Indonesia's opportunity to join BRICS, are transformed into media commodities appealing to elite readers and strategic economic actors. This practice also involves the contribution of experts, but often without equitable compensation. Spatialization is reflected in the real-time distribution of digital content that transcends geographical and temporal boundaries, strengthening the penetration of BRICS discourse into the international public sphere. Structuralization emerges in the narrative of building a new world order through BRICS agendas such as dedollarization, technological integration, and alternative payment systems, although it remains overshadowed by the dominance of Western financial institutions. Thus, media coverage not only represents geopolitical dynamics but also transforms strategic issues into information products with economic value, while revealing the tension between the aspirations of developing countries and established global hegemony.

This study aims to examine the influence of accounting information technology and accounting information system protection on cybersecurity accounting. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a structured survey of 100 respondents, selected using purposive sampling, and analyzed to assess the relationship between the research variables. The research instrument consisted of three main constructs: Accounting Information Technology (X1), Accounting Information System Protection (X2), and Cybersecurity Accounting (Y), each measured using 16 question items. Instrument validity testing revealed that 44 out of 48 items met the validity threshold, with correlation coefficients exceeding 0.300, while reliability analysis indicated Cronbach’s Alpha values greater than 0.60 for all variables, confirming internal consistency. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression. The results demonstrate that accounting information technology has a positive and statistically significant effect on cybersecurity accounting (coefficient = 0.264; p < 0.05), suggesting that the integration and optimization of technology in accounting processes contribute to enhanced cybersecurity practices. Conversely, accounting information system protection exhibits a negative and statistically significant effect on cybersecurity accounting (coefficient = -0.149; p < 0.05). This unexpected finding indicates that certain protective measures within accounting information systems may, under certain conditions, hinder cybersecurity performance, potentially due to implementation complexity, inadequate configuration, or user resistance. The regression model as a whole is statistically significant (F = 18.577; p = 0.000), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.277. This implies that the two independent variables together explain 27.7% of the variance in cybersecurity accounting, while the remaining 72.3% is attributable to other factors not examined in this study.

The Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) project in Batukuwung Village, Padarincang District, Serang Regency, has raised concerns among the community about the threat of environmental damage and disruption of the sustainability of the local agricultural system. So far, the community has depended on traditional agriculture that is closely tied to local social, cultural, and ecological values. PLTP projects, which are framed as part of the clean energy transition, actually create tensions between development and environmental conservation. This research aims to examine the social and ecological impact of the PLTP project on the lives of the village community. The method used is a qualitative approach with case studies. Data were collected through purposive sampling techniques for in-depth interviews with affected residents, community leaders, and environmental activists, as well as analysis of online media content and policy documents. The results of the study show that the presence of the project has created ecological and social vulnerability. Disruption to access to clean water, degradation of soil quality, and disruption of agricultural ecosystems are serious threats. In addition, the space for public participation in the project-related decision-making process is very limited, thus triggering resistance and horizontal conflicts. These findings show that the clean energy narrative does not always align with the reality on the ground. Therefore, it is important to consider the principles of ecological justice and the sovereignty of local communities in any energy development policy. This study recommends participatory dialogue and a thorough environmental evaluation before the project proceeds, so that development does not compromise the right of life of local communities and the ecological sustainability of the region. The active involvement of citizens as subjects, not objects of development, is the key to creating sustainable and equitable solutions for all affected parties.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a significant public health challenge in Indonesia, with the increasing prevalence of cases every year. One of the key methods of controlling the spread of DHF is to target the vector, Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, by eradicating their larvae. However, the widespread and continuous use of chemical larvicides has raised concerns regarding the development of mosquito resistance and environmental pollution. This community service activity aimed to provide students at Duta Karya Vocational High School with knowledge and practical skills to use natural, eco-friendly alternatives for controlling mosquito larvae, focusing on papaya seeds (Carica papaya) and alum as natural larvicides. The methods for this activity included interactive counseling, a demonstration on how to produce larvicides using papaya seeds and alum, and an engaging question-and-answer session. Thirty 12th-grade students from the Pharmacy class participated in this activity. The results revealed that the activity was highly effective in increasing the students' understanding and practical ability to independently create and apply natural larvicides. The students expressed a high level of enthusiasm and interest in the topic, actively participating in the discussions and demonstrations. As a result of this community service, the school has expressed interest in incorporating this activity into its School Health Unit (UKS) work program, which will further promote the use of natural, sustainable methods for controlling mosquito populations. The students, now equipped with the necessary skills, are ready to become "jumantik" cadres—community health volunteers responsible for monitoring and preventing mosquito larvae development. This initiative also raised awareness about utilizing organic waste, such as papaya seeds, to create valuable products for the prevention of DHF.

Christian leadership can be understood as leadership rooted in the truth of God’s Word and exemplified through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. In the Gospel narratives, Jesus consistently displayed leadership qualities that were grounded in service, sacrifice, humility, and the nurturing of His disciples. However, in today’s context, many church environments face a crisis of leadership characterized by corruption, arrogance, lack of integrity, and resistance to constructive criticism, all of which deviate from the biblical image of Christ as the Good Shepherd. This study aims to explore the biblical foundation of Jesus Christ’s leadership, focusing on both its character and technical dimensions as reflected in the Gospel of John, and to examine its implementation in the local ministry setting of GPdI Bethesda Kabanjahe. The research employs a qualitative method with two primary dimensions: a theological-biblical approach and a case study approach. The findings reveal that, first, the pastoral leadership model in the Gospel of John presents Jesus as the Good Shepherd who builds intimate relationships, willingly sacrifices, and develops the character of His followers. While these values are normatively acknowledged by church ministers, their implementation in GPdI Bethesda remains partial, fragmented, and not yet systematically embedded into the overall ministry structure. Second, theological reflection and practical implications highlight the urgent need for renewal that encompasses both organizational systems and the personal spiritual formation of leaders. Recommendations emerging from this study include leadership training grounded in Christlike character, developing an organizational structure that ensures regeneration, cultivating a healthy spiritual community, and contextually internalizing Gospel values into ministry practices. Strengthening these areas is essential for building authentic, sustainable, and Christ-centered leadership that responds to contemporary challenges and restores the church’s witness to the surrounding community.

Pedada leaves (Sonneratia caseolaris), a type of mangrove plant that grows in tropical and subtropical coastal areas, have high ecological and pharmacological value. In addition to functioning as coastal protection from abrasion and seawater intrusion, this plant is also known to contain various secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids. These compounds have been widely reported to have important biological activities, one of which is as an antimicrobial agent. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of pedada leaf ethanol extract in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, especially bacteria that cause infections. The extraction process was carried out using 96% ethanol solvent through the maceration method, namely soaking the material in the solvent for a certain time to optimally obtain active compounds. The obtained extract was then tested for its antimicrobial activity using the disc diffusion method against test bacteria, both Gram-positive and Gram-negative. The inhibition zone formed around the disc was measured as an indicator of the antibacterial effectiveness of the extract. The results showed that pedada leaf extract was able to produce inhibition zones with varying diameters depending on the concentration used. The higher the extract concentration, the larger the diameter of the inhibition zone formed. This indicates a positive relationship between extract concentration and its antibacterial strength. This activity is believed to originate from the ability of compounds such as flavonoids and tannins to damage bacterial cell walls or disrupt microbial metabolic processes. This study provides initial evidence that pedada leaves have potential as an environmentally friendly and sustainable source of natural antibacterials. This potential is highly relevant in efforts to develop alternative antibacterial materials based on local plants, especially amidst increasing bacterial resistance to synthetic antibiotics.

Welding is one of the most essential metal joining processes in manufacturing, construction, and industrial applications, where Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) remains widely used due to its flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and ability to be applied in various welding positions. This study aims to analyze the effect of welding position variations on the mechanical properties of SS400 steel, particularly in terms of tensile strength, bending strength, and microstructural characteristics. The experimental method was conducted using 6 mm thick SS400 steel with E6013 electrodes of 2.6 mm diameter in three welding positions: 1G, 2G, and 3G. The welded specimens were then tested through tensile testing (ASTM E8) and bending testing (ASTM E190-14), followed by microstructural analysis in the weld metal area. The results revealed that welding position significantly affects the mechanical properties of welded joints, where the 3G position produced the highest tensile strength of 188.48 kgf/mm², while the 2G position produced the lowest tensile strength of 113.70 kgf/mm². Conversely, the bending test showed that the 2G position provided the maximum bending strength of 1394 kgf/mm², followed by 3G and 1G positions. Microstructural observations demonstrated variations in the distribution of ferrite, pearlite, martensite, and cementite phases across different welding positions, with the dominance of ferrite and pearlite in the 3G specimen contributing to higher tensile strength, while the dominance of martensite and cementite in the 2G specimen enhanced hardness and bending resistance. Overall, this study confirms that welding position plays a crucial role in determining the quality of SS400 welded joints, and the findings are expected to serve as practical guidance for industry in selecting appropriate welding positions for construction needs, while encouraging further research with additional variables such as electrode type, welding current, and post-weld heat treatment to achieve a more comprehensive understanding.

In the contemporary Christian context, many churches face a leadership crisis marked by corruption, arrogance, lack of integrity, and resistance to criticism—traits that starkly contrast with the servant-hearted leadership exemplified by Jesus Christ. This study aims to explore the biblical foundation of Jesus’ leadership, both in character and technical dimensions, as portrayed in the Gospel of John, and to examine its implementation within GPdI Betesda Kabanjahe. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research integrates two primary approaches: a theological-biblical analysis and a case study of leadership practices in the local church. The theological dimension focuses on Jesus as the Good Shepherd, emphasizing relational depth, sacrificial service, and intentional character formation of His disciples. The case study approach investigates how these principles are understood and applied by church leaders in GPdI Betesda. Findings reveal two key insights. First, the pastoral leadership model in the Gospel of John presents Jesus as a shepherd who leads through personal connection, selfless sacrifice, and transformative discipleship. While these values are normatively acknowledged by church leaders, their practical application in GPdI Betesda remains partial and lacks systemic integration into the church’s organizational and ministerial structures. Second, pastoral leadership at GPdI Betesda is marked by exemplary behavior and love in service. However, inconsistencies persist in leadership stability, spiritual maturity, and character development. The absence of structured ministry management and leadership formation contributes to these gaps. In conclusion, the study underscores the need for churches to realign leadership practices with the biblical model of Jesus, fostering integrity, humility, and servant leadership. Strengthening character development and implementing structured leadership systems are essential steps toward resolving the leadership crisis and embodying Christ-like shepherding in the church context.

This study examines the implementation of the advertising tax policy and its role in supporting Regional Original Income (PAD) in Gresik Regency, and identifies barriers that affect its effectiveness. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive approach with data obtained from field studies involving key government officials and supported by relevant literature and regulatory documents. Data were analyzed using McNabb's (2002) framework, which includes grouping data based on constructs, identifying the basis for interpretation, developing generalizations, testing alternative interpretations, and refining theoretical insights. The results indicate that the implementation of the advertising tax policy in Gresik focuses more on intensification than extensification, as intensification is considered more practical and faces less resistance. The licensing and collection processes for advertising tax are carried out based on the legal framework of Regional Regulation No. 8 of 2023 concerning Regional Taxes and Levies and Regent Regulation No. 79 of 2023, which regulates the rental value of advertising as the basis for taxation. Despite significant revenue potential, significant challenges remain, such as inter-agency coordination issues, inadequate data collection, and technical and non-technical barriers in implementing this policy. Unclear legal sanctions and low public awareness and compliance are also inhibiting factors. Nevertheless, advertising tax revenue has generally reached its target, although certain periods were affected by unfavorable economic conditions. This study concludes that to maximize the contribution of advertising tax to local revenue (PAD), improved inter-agency coordination, strengthened institutional capacity, clarified regulatory sanctions, and enhanced public education and engagement are needed. This is expected to support regional fiscal independence in Gresik Regency.

This study aims to analyze the electrical energy consumption of a bench-type drilling machine, RYU RDB 13, by varying machining parameters in the form of spindle speed and feed rate. Electrical energy is a critical aspect of production efficiency in the manufacturing industry, particularly in machining processes that require continuous power consumption throughout the cutting operation. The material used in this study is aluminum 6061, chosen for its lightweight, corrosion resistance, and wide application in the automotive and aerospace industries. The drilling process was carried out using three spindle speed variations: 620 rpm, 920 rpm, and 1280 rpm, along with three feed rate variations: 0.04 mm/rev, 0.08 mm/rev, and 0.1 mm/rev. Current and voltage were measured using a digital wattmeter in real-time, and energy consumption was calculated in wattseconds (Ws) using power calculation formulas. The results indicate that increasing the feed rate and spindle speed leads to higher instantaneous power consumption. However, total energy consumption tends to decrease at higher speed and feed combinations due to shorter machining times. The optimal parameter combination was found at a feed rate of 0.1 mm/rev and a spindle speed of 1280 rpm, which resulted in the lowest energy consumption of 387 Ws and the fastest drilling time. This demonstrates that selecting the right machining parameters not only improves energy efficiency but also maintains or enhances productivity. The observed power consumption pattern typically shows a sharp increase at the beginning of the drilling process, a stable phase during the main cutting stage, and a rapid decrease towards the end of the cut. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between machining parameters and energy efficiency, serving as a basis for developing sustainable production strategies in the manufacturing sector that prioritize energy savings and cost reduction.

This study investigates the comparative use of satire and sarcasm in the criminal comedy show Lapor Pak! episode “Pasukin Naik Gaji.” Satire and sarcasm are both rhetorical devices used to criticize social realities through humor, but differ in subtlety and sharpness. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the forms and meanings of satirical and sarcastic expressions in the show’s dialogues. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and applies stylistic theory and humor theory as the analytical framework. The data source is a 26-minute episode aired on the 7Comedy YouTube channel on January 8, 2025. From the linguistic data collected, 20 utterances were found: 15 contain sarcasm, 11 irony, and 9 satire (some overlapping). The findings show that sarcasm is used more dominantly than satire, often reflecting economic frustration, while satire criticizes social issues in a more humorous and indirect way. Both styles serve not only to entertain but also to reflect social resistance and expose systemic injustice, especially regarding economic inequality. The analysis concludes that humor becomes a linguistic tool of social commentary and coping mechanism for workers.
