This study aims to analyze the suspected violation of advertising ethics by Almaz Fried Chicken through the claim “Saudi Chicken No.1 in Indonesia” on the Instagram platform. The claim was repeatedly published without valid supporting evidence, such as surveys, awards, or credible data sources. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method and content analysis technique on the visual and textual content of Almaz Fried Chicken’s official Instagram posts. The results show that the superlative claim does not comply with the Indonesian Advertising Ethics Code, which requires substantiation for superiority claims. Advertising visuals—such as color schemes, typography, and cultural symbols—were used to reinforce the impression of authenticity and superiority, but lacked verifiable basis. The study concludes that the claim used by Almaz Fried Chicken violates the principles of honesty, truthfulness, and responsibility in marketing communication, and potentially misleads consumers while creating unfair competition in the digital marketplace.

Social media has become a new cultural space for teenagers to express themselves, interact socially, and form a self-image online. Trend culture on social media has become an important phenomenon in the dynamics of digital communication, especially among teenagers and the younger generation. Trend culture is a fluid cultural space where values, norms and identities are constantly negotiated through virtual interactions. Rapidly evolving trends through platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube not only reflect lifestyle changes, but also become a means of self-expression, identity formation, and the search for social validation. This research aims to analyze how adolescent identity is represented through trend culture on social media in interaction patterns, meaning construction, and user self-representation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of digital observation of active teenage users of the Instagram and TikTok platforms. The theory used is Stuart Hall's representation theory. The representation is not singular, but rather fluid and performative, depending on social dynamics, recognition needs, and symbolic interactions in digital space. The results show that cultural trends, such as viral challenges, clothing styles, the use of visual filters, and the use of certain captions, become an important medium in the construction and representation of teenage identity.

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media and social environment on the hedonistic lifestyle among contemporary adolescents. A hedonistic lifestyle, which prioritizes the pursuit of personal pleasure and material satisfaction, has become increasingly prevalent among adolescents with the rapid development of technology, especially social media. This research employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and case studies involving adolescents who are active social media users in several major cities in Indonesia. The results indicate that social media plays a significant role in shaping ideal life standards that emphasize luxury, social status, and instant gratification, which influences adolescents to pursue similar lifestyles. Additionally, the social environment, particularly family and peer groups, further strengthens adolescents' desire to gain recognition and social status through a consumerist lifestyle. The study also finds that although a hedonistic lifestyle provides momentary satisfaction, its long-term effects can be detrimental both psychologically and financially, and can worsen self-image and emotional well-being among adolescents. Therefore, it is important to provide more comprehensive education to adolescents on the wise use of social media and support the development of healthier life values within family and school environments.

This study explores the politeness strategies used in netizens’ comments on the policy of disbursing regional ASN teacher allowances across three social media platforms: Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. The research is grounded in the growing phenomenon of public opinion expression in digital spaces, which often reflects varying levels of language politeness. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of politeness strategies used, examine the differences between platforms, and uncover the influencing factors. This study aims to explore how the transformation of civic consciousness in the digital era plays a role in shaping a more tolerant society, especially in responding to the issue of racism that is developing on social media. Using a qualitative approach through a case study method, this study analyzes various forms of digital citizen participation in dealing with discriminatory content. Data collection techniques were carried out through social media content analysis, literature review, and thematic interpretation based on two main theories, namely Digital Citizenship (Ribble, 2011) and Critical Consciousness (Freire, 1970). The results of the study found five main things: (1) the emergence of educational and emancipatory counter-narratives; (2) the transformation of individual expression into a collective movement through digital activism; (3) the important role of digital figures and alternative media in shaping tolerant public opinion; (4) the diversity of public responses, from progressive to regressive; and (5) structural challenges in the form of opinion polarization, the spread of disinformation, and the echo chamber effect. This study concludes that although social media is a complex and challenging space, it still has great potential as a vehicle for civic education and a tool for social transformation towards a society that values diversity and upholds the values of justice.

In these modern days, it is very difficult to find a person who is far from the internet or from their smartphone devices. The phenomenon that arises is that almost everyone now has more than one social media account. Social media itself, besides functioning as a space for socializing, is also used as a business platform, like online stores, due to the increasing number of users. However, when this opportunity exists, cybercriminals also prowl in search of easy ways to profit from unsuspecting users. One of the methods they rely on is phishing techniques. Phishing is a scenario designed to deceive people into unknowingly handing over their personal data to the trapper. By providing education about threats and ways to prevent this type of attack on social networking platforms, it is hoped that the public can become more critical and suspicious of suspicious signs on accounts or other web pages, as well as take appropriate preventive measures.

Social media has proven to be an effective tool for health promotion, particularly in rapidly and widely disseminating information and encouraging behavioral changes. This study is a literature review aiming to evaluate the role of social media in digital-based health promotion interventions over the past five years (2019–2024). Articles were collected from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda databases, focusing on interventions conducted in Indonesia or those with global relevance. The review of nine articles revealed that platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook are effective in improving health knowledge and behaviors, especially among adolescents and mothers. Strategies involving visual and interactive content, along with collaborations with digital influencers, significantly increased audience engagement. However, key challenges identified include low digital literacy, the spread of invalid information, and a lack of standardized evaluation for intervention effectiveness. This study recommends enhancing healthcare professionals' capacity in utilizing social media and strengthening public digital literacy to support sustainable health promotion efforts.
