This research investigates the influence of employee motivation and work discipline on staff performance at Cafe Empat, located in Serang City. In the hospitality and food service industry, human resources serve as a critical element for operational success due to continuous face-to-face customer interactions. Utilizing a quantitative, causal-associative framework, this study examined the entire population of 45 employees using a total sampling technique. Primary data gathered via structured Likert-scale questionnaires were processed using IBM SPSS v.26 for multiple linear regression analysis, following rigorous classical assumption testing (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity). Results show that work motivation has a significant positive effect on employee performance (t = 4.217; p < 0.05), as does work discipline (t = 3.985; p < 0.05). The F-test confirms that both variables jointly exert a significant positive influence on performance (F = 29.843; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.684) indicates that 68.4% of variance in employee performance is explained by these two variables, while the remaining 31.6% is attributed to factors not included in the model. Management is advised to consistently develop motivational programs and enforce disciplinary standards to sustain productivity and competitive advantage.

This study examines how work motivation and work discipline shape the job performance of employees at Cafe Empat, Serang City. The culinary and hospitality sector relies heavily on human resources as the backbone of service quality, given the high frequency of direct customer interactions involved. Adopting a quantitative, causal-associative research design, this investigation encompassed the entire workforce of 45 employees through a census or total sampling approach. Structured Likert-scale questionnaires served as the primary data collection instrument, and the resulting data were subjected to multiple linear regression analysis via IBM SPSS version 26, after satisfying the prerequisites of classical assumption tests covering normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The analysis reveals that work motivation exerts a significant positive impact on employee performance (t = 4.217; p < 0.05), and the same holds true for work discipline (t = 3.985; p < 0.05). An F-test further confirms that both variables, when considered jointly, produce a significant combined effect on performance (F = 29.843; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R2 = 0.684) indicates that the two predictors collectively account for 68.4% of the variance in employee performance, with the remaining 31.6% attributable to other factors outside the model. On the basis of these findings, it is recommended that management at Cafe Empat invest in structured motivational frameworks and reinforce discipline systems as complementary levers for sustained operational excellence.

Sectio caesarea is a common surgical procedure to deliver a baby when normal delivery is not possible or risky. Postoperatively, patients often experience acute pain that can interfere with the recovery process. The benson relaxation technique is a nonpharmacological method that has been shown to be effective in reducing pain through a relaxation and patient confidence approach. This study uses a case study approach on Mrs. T, a post-sectio caesarea patient at Harapan Bunda Hospital, Batam City. Nursing care is carried out comprehensively for three days, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The main intervention was the administration of benzone relaxation techniques for 10–15 minutes every day. After three days of applying the Benson relaxation technique, Mrs. T's pain intensity decreased from a scale of 6 (moderate pain) to a scale of 2 (mild pain). Patients show increased comfort, ability to be active, and decreased expressions of pain such as grimacing. These results support previous findings that benzon relaxation is effective as a nonpharmacological therapy in reducing postoperative pain. This technique can be a safe and easy-to-apply alternative in nursing practice, especially for post-sectio caesarean patients.

This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and depression levels among the elderly in Pejuang Village, Bekasi City, through a descriptive-narrative literature review. The review analyzed relevant scientific articles discussing family support, social support, and depression in older adults. Literature was selected based on the suitability of the elderly population, the presence of family or social support variables, and the measurement of depressive symptoms or depression levels. The analysis compared each article’s objectives, research design, respondent characteristics, instruments, findings, and conclusions. The results indicate that most studies found a relationship between family support or social support and depression among the elderly. Adequate family support, including emotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support, helps older adults feel cared for, valued, secure, and better able to adapt to the aging process. Preliminary findings at the Elderly Posyandu in Pejuang Village also show variations in family support and depression levels among elderly participants. Conversely, limited family support may increase loneliness, psychological distress, and depressive symptoms. Therefore, family support functions as a protective factor in reducing depression risk among older adults. Strengthening the involvement of families, health workers, and elderly posyandu cadres is necessary as a promotive and preventive strategy to maintain psychological well-being through education, early detection, and sustainable community-based assistance for vulnerable elderly groups living in community and family environments.

This study aims to analyze the role of the principal in evaluating the Qur’an reading program using the Batiq Izzati method at RA Al-Izzah in Serang City. The principal holds a strategic responsibility in ensuring the quality of education, including the implementation of religious programs that play a crucial role in shaping Islamic character in early childhood. The Batiq Izzati method is an internally developed approach by the Al-Izzah Foundation, designed to facilitate Qur’an reading through a gradual, enjoyable, and child-friendly method. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the principal has fulfilled eight key leadership roles; however, the evaluation process is not yet optimal due to limited time and insufficient parental involvement. Evaluations are conducted daily by teachers and periodically by the principal to determine students' progress through different levels (jilid). Supporting factors include competent teachers, adequate facilities, and a structured evaluation system, while inhibiting factors involve time constraints and limited human resources. This study recommends strengthening the principal's role in continuous evaluation and fostering better collaboration between the school and parents to enhance the program's effectiveness.

This study aims to examine the application of an expository approach in the scriptwriting of the documentary film "Jejak Rasa," which highlights Southern Chinese cuisine in Bandung as a representation of cultural acculturation. The background of this research is based on the declining interest of the younger generation in traditional culinary arts due to the influence of globalization and social media trends. The methods used included literature research, field observations, and interviews with relevant sources, such as culinary entrepreneurs and museum officials. The results show that the expository approach is effective in conveying information systematically, factually, and easily understood through the use of voice-over narration as the main direction of the story. Furthermore, the use of an implied first-person perspective creates an emotional connection between the audience and the material presented. This documentary serves not only as an information medium but also as a means of education and preservation of Peranakan Chinese culinary culture. By combining visual elements, narrative, and interviews, this documentary comprehensively presents historical, social, and cultural values. Therefore, this work is expected to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving culinary cultural heritage amidst modern developments.

This research is driven by Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments (HKPD), which reclassifies several taxes, including entertainment tax, into the Category of Goods and Services Tax (PBJT). This policy is further regulated by Surabaya City Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2023. This study aims to analyze the contribution of entertainment tax within the PBJT framework toward Surabaya's Local Generated Revenue (PAD) from 2021 to 2023. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected from the Surabaya City Budget Realization Report (LRA) and other official documents, then processed using RStudio. The results indicate that while entertainment tax realization increases annually, its contribution to Surabaya's PAD remains significantly low, averaging below 2%. This suggests that entertainment tax is not yet a primary source of revenue for the city. Based on these findings, the Surabaya City Government is expected to tighten supervision over entertainment transactions through digital systems to minimize fraud risks and conduct comprehensive data updates on new entertainment venues to maximize tax collection.

This study examines the effectiveness of collaborative governance at the Benowo Waste to Energy facility following the 2025 Surabaya administrative court ruling. The facility represents a policy paradox where the success of the public private partnership scheme in attracting hundreds of billions of rupiah in investment is accompanied by escalating social conflicts and information transparency disputes. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method based on field research this study dissects the collaborative failure through the theoretical framework of Ansell and Gash. Data collection was conducted through in depth interviews with government officials private operators environmental activists and affected residents. The analysis results indicate that the collaboration failed structurally due to severe power asymmetry since the initial planning phase. This failure was exacerbated by a flawed institutional design that legitimized bureaucratic information centralism and the dysfunction of facilitative leadership by the local government which prioritized investment stability over the fulfillment of citizens ecological rights. Ultimately the interaction process at the grassroots level was reduced to a transactional relationship where corporate social responsibility programs were merely used as instruments of social pacification to suppress temporary protests. This research concludes that the Benowo facility operates under a highly fragile closed governance model that sacrifices public legitimacy. As a solution the researcher recommends the need for an institutional design reconstruction that integrates guarantees of environmental justice and mandatory independent information transparency in future green infrastructure projects.
