This study is motivated by several previous studies that conducted motivational research related to teenagers' visits to various types of events. The aim of this research is to validate the findings of previous studies by correlating external and internal motivations in the case study of the East Java Wayang Week (PWJ) event held at the “Taman Budaya Jawa Timur Cak Durasim” in Surabaya from November 6 to November 8, 2024. This study uses a mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design, where the researcher will analyze quantitative data regarding the general external motivations for attending the event. The findings from this quantitative analysis will then be further explored using a qualitative method to gain insights into the internal motivations of visitors to the event. Through the t-test results, a new finding was discovered, which differs from previous studies, where external motivation does not necessarily have a direct influence on the decision to attend the event. Interviews with several attendees of the East Java Wayang Week (PWJ) revealed that internal motivations also significantly influenced their decision to attend the event.

The Draft Asset Forfeiture Law represents a significant step in combating economic crimes in Indonesia, focusing on non-conviction-based asset recovery. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Chemical Engineering students (2023 Cohort, Parallel C) at UPN "Veteran" East Java, a designated State Defense Campus, regarding the law's effectiveness. Employing a quantitative approach, data were gathered using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire assessing understanding, potential impacts, and alignment with state defense principles. The findings reveal that the majority of students perceive the draft law as a strategic tool for strengthening justice, reducing corruption, safeguarding public interests, and enhancing governmental integrity. However, some respondents expressed concerns over potential conflicts with human rights and implementation inefficiencies. This research underscores the necessity of harmonizing legislative frameworks with human rights and public trust, emphasizing the role of state defense education in fostering policy support..

This study explores the impact of digital technology on state defense awareness among students of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” East Java. Through a quantitative survey involving 29 respondents, it was found that 62.1% of respondents consider state defense awareness very important, and 86.2% agree that digital technology makes it easier to access information related to state defense. However, 10.3% of respondents felt that technology has no significant effect on state defense awareness. These findings show that while digital technology has the potential to increase state defense awareness, challenges such as disinformation and low interest in state defense content still exist. This research recommends improving digital literacy and engaging campaigns to raise awareness among university students.

The unemployment rate in Jombang district is still quite high, data from the Central Statistics Agency for East Java Province shows that there are still 4.66 percent of Jombang residents who are still unemployed. Efforts to reduce the unemployment rate in the future are by preparing complex education and providing training. Prakerin is expected to be able to increase the work readiness attitude of vocational school students. The approach used in this research is quantitative, with the research population being class XII vocational school students in Jombang City who have taken part in Prakerin. The research results support the first hypothesis that the Prakerin variable has a positive and significant effect on the work readiness of vocational school students in the city of Jombang. It is shown in the f test where the significance value for the Prakerin variable (X) is 0.000 because the significance value <0.05 shows that there is a partial influence of the Prakerin variable (X) on the work readiness variable (Y).

Social and economic welfare reflects the quality of life in a region and is influenced by local social, economic, and environmental factors. East Java, as the second most populous province in Indonesia, faces challenges in improving the welfare of its residents, particularly due to varying regional characteristics such as employment, education, and population demographics. To understand the patterns of interrelationships among factors affecting welfare, this study conducted a klaster analysis to group regions based on similar characteristics. The klaster analysis employed both hierarchical (complete linkage) and non-hierarchical (K-means) approaches to determine the optimal number of klasters. The results revealed that the level of diversity across regions in East Java tends to be homogeneous in social and economic aspects, with average values exceeding standard deviations. Assumption tests for the klaster analysis confirmed that the data met the assumptions of multivariate normal distribution and dependency.Through hierarchical (complete linkage) and non-hierarchical (K-means) klaster analysis, two main klasters were formed, dividing districts/cities in East Java based on welfare characteristics. Using the complete linkage method, 27 regions were grouped into klaster 1, and 11 regions into klaster 2, while K-means grouped 26 regions into klaster 1 and 12 regions into klaster 2. Out of the six variables used, one variable was found to be insignificant in influencing the klastering results. Based on the mapping results, the grouping aligns with similar criteria, where urban areas predominantly fall into one klaster, and the other klaster is dominated by rural areas.

The Halal Industrial Estate (HIE) in East Java has enormous potential to capitalize on the global trend of increasing demand for halal products. As a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia is expected to seize this opportunity through regulations that support the development of HZs, which can not only improve the competitiveness of local products but also expected to contribute to overall economic growth. However, challenges in the development of HEC need to be overcome through close cooperation between the government, industry players, and the community. Socialization of the importance of halal certification and its benefits for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) should also be improved to motivate business actors. This study takes a qualitative approach and literature review to understand how government regulations can support the development of the halal industry in Sidoarjo. The findings show that with the right regulations, KIH can function as a halal industry center that meets local needs and can compete in the global market. The strategic steps recommended by the government include increasing local production capacity, strengthening the halal ecosystem from upstream to downstream, and creating a competitive market environment. With these strategic steps, it is expected that East Java can optimize its role in the halal industry.

Indonesia is an agricultural country with great potential in the agricultural sector, both as a source of livelihood and as an economic driver. This sector has an important function in food security, improving farmers' welfare, and preserving the environment. Given Indonesia's regional diversity, it is important to develop policies that suit the agricultural characteristics of each region. This research uses the clustering method, a technique that groups data based on similar characteristics so that objects in one group (cluster) have high similarities, while between clusters they are different. This research applies the clustering method to group provinces in Indonesia based on agricultural sector factors in 2023, using hierarchical and non-hierarchical techniques. The results show that the optimum clusters obtained using both single linkage and K-Means formed five optimal clusters. The Java Island cluster shows high productivity, while Riau, East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan have quite high productivity with minimal labor. The largest clusters have a lot of unmanaged land, increasing employment opportunities. Significant variables influence grouping.
