Literatur Review: Rekomendasi Antenatal Care (Anc) Minimal 8 Kali Oleh Who Dan Implementasinya di Indonesia

 Based on the Health Profile in Indonesia in 2025, In 2023, the number of maternal deaths was 4,482 cases of death, this number increased compared to cases in 2022, which was 3,572 cases. Meanwhile, in 2024, maternal deaths decreased to 4,150 cases of infant deaths, although it decreased from the previous year, namely from 34,266 deaths to 31,393 deaths in 2024. The still high MMR and IMR in Indonesia and also the gap between global standards (minimum 8 ANC examinations) with national policies of at least 6 ANC examinations and USG services in primary care make it necessary to have a literature review to analyze the comparison of these standards and also their implications in improving the quality of ANC services in Indonesia. The type of research used is a literature study / literature review which sources five data from research articles, publications, reports, books, guidelines, and laws using several trusted databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Based on research results, there is a significant relationship between the number of antenatal visits and the reduction in infant mortality rates. This is because frequent antenatal visits improve the quality of the visits. Ultrasound examinations are most effective if performed before 12 weeks of gestation and after 24 weeks of gestation, or can be performed as a single examination before 24 weeks of gestation. The differences in WHO and Indonesian policies regarding the number of ANC examinations occur due to adjustments to the capabilities and policies of each country. Previous research also did not provide a specific recommendation for a specific number of visits to obtain quality ANC services. Quality ANC services are not solely determined by the number of visits but also by the socio-demographic factors of the pregnant woman.
