<p>Transmigrasi dapat dikatakan sebagai suatu hal yang unik, karena hanya dilakukan di Indonesia. Transmigrasi merupakan perpindahan penduduk dari daerah yang padat, ke daerah lain di dalam wilayah Indonesia. Program transmigrasi memiliki sejarah yang panjang di Indonesia. Dari masa kolonial, orde lama, orde baru, reformasi, dan terus dilakukan hingga sekarang. Dalam perkembangannya, transmigrasi tidak lepas dari nomenklatur pengembangan wilayah. pengembangan wilayah dapat diartikan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan perkembangan dari suatu daerah, baik itu dari segi sosial, ekonomi, geografis, juga budaya. Salah satu daerah transmigrasi di Indonesia yang dijadikan objek penelitian dalam penulisan ini adalah Geumpang II SP 3, suatu unit permukiman transmigrasi yang berada di Desa Pucok, Kecamatan Geumpang, Kabupaten Pidie, Provinsi Aceh. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapati bahwa pengembangan wilayah di unit permukiman transmigrasi Geumpang II SP 3 sudah dilakukan, yang dapat dilihat dari keadaan masyarakat yang telah memiliki pendapatan di atas standar yang telah ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Desa, Pembangunan Daerah Tertinggal, dan Transmigrasi Republik Indonesia, dan perlu pemberdayaan di sisi produksi pangan serta pemberdayaan koperasi.</p><p><em>Transmigration can be said to be a unique thing, because it is only done in Indonesia. Transmigration is the movement of people from densely populated areas to other areas within the territory of Indonesia. The transmigration program has a long history in Indonesia. From the colonial period, the old order, the new order, reform era, and has continued to be done until now. In its development, transmigration cannot be separated from the nomenclature of regional development. Regional development can be interpreted as an effort to increase the development of an area, both in terms of social, economic, geographical and cultural aspects. One of the transmigration areas in Indonesia that is the object of research in this paper is Geumpang II SP 3, a transmigration settlement unit located in Pucok Village, Geumpang District, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the regional development in the Geumpang II SP 3 transmigration settlement unit has been carried out, which can be seen from the condition of the people who already have incomes above the standards set by the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, and needs empowerment in terms of food production and empowerment of cooperatives.</em></p><p> </p>
