Lifestyle changes, such as smoking habits, low physical activity, and suboptimal sleep patterns, have the potential to affect various health indicators. However, empirical evidence showing a direct link between lifestyle factors and objective health indicators still shows varying results. This study aims to analyze the relationship between lifestyle factors and health indicators in adult respondents, in an effort to provide an empirical picture of behavioral factors related to health conditions. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional observational analytic design. Data were obtained from 94 respondents who had complete lifestyle data and health examination results. Lifestyle factors analyzed included smoking habits, exercise frequency, and sleep duration, while health indicators included body mass index (BMI), systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, uric acid, and pulse rate. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Spearman correlation test according to the characteristics of the data distribution. The results showed that smoking habits were significantly associated with diastolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), exercise frequency was significantly associated with BMI and systolic blood pressure (p < 0.05), and sleep duration was significantly associated with uric acid levels (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the relationship between lifestyle factors and other health indicators did not show statistical significance. These findings indicate that the influence of lifestyle on health is specific to certain indicators and is not evenly distributed across all health parameters. This study concludes that identifying lifestyle factors relevant to certain health indicators is important as a basis for formulating more targeted health promotion strategies.

Successful development encompasses various aspects of community life and cannot be separated from progress in the health sector. Health is one of the key indicators in determining the quality of life of a population. Therefore, attention to health—especially for vulnerable groups such as the elderly—is of great importance. Regular health check-ups serve as a preventive measure to help the community detect illnesses early and encourage individuals to take an active role in maintaining their own health. Several types of examinations are commonly provided free of charge during community service activities, including blood pressure checks, random blood glucose tests, uric acid level tests, and cholesterol level screenings. These health checks are especially beneficial for the elderly, as they help monitor overall health conditions and enable early management of diseases to prevent further complications. In this activity, a total of 40 elderly individuals voluntarily participated in the health screening. The methods used included health education sessions and direct examinations of blood pressure, uric acid levels, and random blood glucose levels. The counseling was delivered using simple and clear language, and it included a question-and-answer session to help participants better understand the information provided. The results of the examinations showed that some of the elderly participants had high blood pressure and elevated blood glucose levels, which led to recommendations for follow-up visits to nearby healthcare facilities. Through this health screening initiative, the overall health quality of the elderly participants improved, and their awareness of the importance of early detection increased. This activity is expected to motivate the broader community to pay more attention to their health and to undergo regular health check-ups. By taking a proactive role in managing their well-being, individuals can reduce the risk of serious complications in the future and contribute to the creation of a healthier society overall.

Uric acid is the final product of purine metabolism, which can increase due to high purine intake or impaired renal excretion. Accumulation of uric acid in the body is at risk of causing joint inflammation and other metabolic disorders. Early detection and dietary education are strategic steps to prevent complications of hyperuricemia. This activity uses the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach by examining uric acid levels using POCT and education on managing purine consumption. The examination was carried out on 62 adult participants. Educational leaflets were delivered directly and individually to each participant. All participants had uric acid levels in the normal range (median 4.2 mg/dL), with the lowest value of 3.5 mg/dL and the highest 6.5 mg/dL. Most participants were women and were in the middle to elderly age group. Although no cases of hyperuricemia were identified, preventive education remains essential to maintain uric acid levels within optimal ranges and reduce future metabolic risks. Lifestyle interventions focusing on diet and hydration are critical for sustainable uric acid control and long-term health outcomes.   Keywords: Uric Acid, Purine, Hyperuricemia, Diet, Nutrition Education

Subcutaneous fat deposition is a key factor influencing overall health, playing a significant role in metabolic regulation, energy balance, and the risk of chronic diseases such as obesity and cardiovascular conditions. Understanding and accurately predicting subcutaneous fat accumulation is critical for early intervention and effective management of these health risks. This study aims to analyze the correlation between hemoglobin levels, uric acid, and anthropometric parameters as predictors of subcutaneous fat deposition in elderly individuals. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 32 elderly participants at St. Asisi Church. Anthropometric measurements, including body weight, height, muscle composition, and circumferences, were assessed using OMRON Body Composition Monitor HBF-375, elastic tape and GEA Medical HT721. Biochemical tests for hemoglobin and uric acid levels were performed using Fora 6 Plus. Spearman correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between these variables and subcutaneous fat deposition. Body weight, upper arm circumference, abdominal circumference, and calf circumference showed strong positive correlations with subcutaneous fat (r>0.9, p<0.001). Skeletal muscle percentage exhibited a negative correlation with fat accumulation. Hemoglobin and uric acid levels had weaker correlations, suggesting more complex metabolic interactions. Anthropometric parameters serve as strong predictors of subcutaneous fat deposition in elderly individuals, while hemoglobin and uric acid levels show limited predictive capability.
