This research seeks to examine the influence of taxpayer knowledge, taxpayer awareness, and tax sanctions on the compliance of motor vehicle taxpayers in Boyolali Regency. Motor vehicle tax constitutes a significant component of regional original revenue; however, the level of revenue realization has not yet fully met the established targets, indicating the presence of compliance-related challenges. The study adopts a quantitative explanatory design. Primary data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 100 motor vehicle taxpayers registered at the Boyolali Samsat Office, with respondents selected through accidental sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software, following preliminary tests of validity, reliability, and classical assumptions. The findings demonstrate that taxpayer knowledge and taxpayer awareness exert a positive and statistically significant effect on motor vehicle taxpayer compliance. In addition, tax sanctions are also shown to have a positive and significant impact and represent the most dominant factor influencing compliance. These results are consistent with Attribution Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior, which highlight the importance of both internal and external determinants in shaping taxpayer compliance behavior. This study is expected to provide empirical support for research on regional tax compliance and offer practical insights for local governments in developing strategies to improve motor vehicle tax compliance.

This study aims to analyze the influence of tax knowledge and tax sanctions on taxpayer compliance, as well as assess the role of taxpayer awareness as a moderation variable in individual taxpayers (WPOP) in West Aceh Regency. The research uses a quantitative approach with ex post facto design and survey methods. A sample of 100 respondents was selected through a random sampling technique based on the Slovin formula. Primary data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analysis using instrument tests (validity and reliability), classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and moderation regression tests to test hypotheses. The results of the study show that tax knowledge has a positive effect on taxpayer compliance. Tax sanctions also have a positive effect on taxpayer compliance. In addition, taxpayer awareness has been shown to moderate the relationship between tax sanctions and taxpayer knowledge. This means that the higher the taxpayer's awareness, the stronger the influence of tax knowledge and sanctions on taxpayer compliance. These findings are expected to be considered for tax authorities in formulating policies to increase compliance through education and strengthening tax awareness.

Tax compliance is a crucial element in supporting state revenue and reflects the integrity of the public bureaucracy. However, the level of tax compliance among State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Indonesia still faces various challenges. To date, the literature on ASN tax compliance tends to be partial and does not provide a comprehensive overview of the evolution of theories and emerging methodological trends. This study aims to map the development of research related to ASN tax compliance in Indonesia during the 2020–2024 period through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This study analyzed ten scientific articles obtained from national academic databases, focusing on the variables, theories, and methods used in previous research. The analysis was conducted qualitatively and descriptively to identify patterns of findings and research gaps. The study results indicate that ASN tax compliance is influenced by factors such as tax knowledge, sanctions, awareness, trust, institutional factors, and digital technology. This study contributes by developing a research map that integrates the Theory of Planned Behavior and Institutional Trust Theory as a basis for fiscal policy for ASN. These results provide a basis for the government to design more effective tax policies and training.

Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

This study aims to examine the influence of tax awareness, tax knowledge, and tax morale on the level of individual taxpayer compliance. Income tax plays a strategic role as the primary source of financing for government expenditures in supporting national development. However, the level of taxpayer compliance in submitting Annual Tax Returns (SPT) continues to show a downward trend over time. This condition indicates a problem with compliance behavior influenced by various internal factors within taxpayers. Therefore, government efforts are needed to increase tax awareness, expand tax knowledge, and strengthen tax morale among the public. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a random sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 30 individual taxpayers registered at the Kediri Pratama Tax Service Office (KPP Pratama). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing with the help of SPSS software. The results show that tax awareness, tax knowledge, and tax morale have a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, both partially and simultaneously.

Taxes are the largest contributor to state revenue in financing national development. Tax compliance is the act of the taxpayer in fulfilling their tax obligations following the provisions of the legislation and tax implementation regulations in force in a country. Efforts made by the government to improve taxpayer compliance are by reforming tax laws and the tax administration system. This study aims to determine the effect of tax knowledge, tax sanctions, the benefit of the taxpayer identification number, and modern tax administration systems on personal taxpayer reporting compliance at the tax office in North Badung. The population of this research is personal taxpayers at the North Badung Tax Office Services, which is based on the data of individual taxpayers, as many as 95,542 people. The sample in this study consisted of 76 individual taxpayers who reported compliance, selected using a non-probability sampling method with an accidental sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the tax knowledge variable did not affect personal taxpayer compliance, while the tax sanctions variable, the benefit of the taxpayer identification number, taxpayer awareness, and the modern tax administration system had a positive effect on personal taxpayer reporting compliance. Further research can expand on this study by incorporating other variables that, in theory, influence taxpayer reporting compliance, such as tax services.

Taxpayer compliance is a crucial factor in optimizing state revenue, particularly in supporting national development financing. However, in practice, various obstacles are still encountered that hinder the achievement of optimal compliance levels. Some of these include employees' low understanding of tax provisions and the less than optimal effectiveness of tax sanction implementation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between tax knowledge (X1) and tax sanctions (X2) on taxpayer compliance (Y) among employees of the Banten Province Cooperatives and SMEs Office. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling, so that the entire population of 45 people is used as the research sample. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) based Structural Equation Modeling method using SmartPLS software version 4.0. The results show that the tax knowledge variable (X1) has a t-statistic value of 1.190 <1.96 and a significance value (p-value) of 0.234 >0.05. Thus, tax knowledge does not have a significant effect on taxpayer compliance. Furthermore, the tax sanction variable (X2) obtained a t-statistic value of 1.436 < 1.96 and a p-value of 0.151 > 0.05, which means that tax sanctions also do not have a significant effect on taxpayer compliance. Overall, this study concludes that neither tax knowledge nor tax sanctions partially have a significant effect on the level of taxpayer compliance among the employees who were respondents in the study. This finding indicates that other factors, such as personal awareness, perceptions of tax fairness, and intrinsic motivation, may have a more dominant role in shaping taxpayer compliance. Therefore, a more comprehensive policy strategy is needed to increase compliance, not only through increasing knowledge or enforcing sanctions, but also through ongoing coaching, socialization, and persuasive approaches.

This research aims to analyze the effect of tax socialization and tax system digitalization on taxpayer compliance with tax knowledge as an intervening variable among individual taxpayers in Lampung Province. The research employs a quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires distributed to 147 individual taxpayer respondents residing in Lampung Province who are over 25 years of age and work as individual entrepreneurs, private employees, or civil servants. Data analysis uses path analysis techniques to examine the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results show that tax system digitalization has a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, both directly and through tax knowledge as an intervening variable. However, the hypothesis stating that tax socialization affects taxpayer compliance is not supported by the research findings. This research model has an R Square value of 0.87, indicating a very strong relationship between tax system digitalization and taxpayer compliance. This research provides important contributions for tax authorities in formulating strategies to improve taxpayer compliance through strengthening tax system digitalization and enhancing tax knowledge.

This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge and motivation on accounting students' interest in choosing a career in taxation. The case study was conducted on students of the Accounting Study Program, Dua Saudara Bitung College of Business and Management and Petra Bitung College of Economics. The low interest of students in pursuing a career in taxation is often caused by a lack of knowledge about taxation and existing job opportunities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through a questionnaire. The results of this study are that Tax Knowledge (X1) has a significant and positive influence on Career Interest in Taxation (Y). This can be seen from the calculated t value of 4.157 which is greater than the t table (1.66543) and a very small significance value (0.000 0.05). Motivation (X2) has a significant and positive influence on Career Interest in Taxation (Y). The t-value for motivation is 3.059, which is greater than the t-table (1.66543), with a significance value of 0.003 0.05. It is concluded that both Tax Knowledge (X1) and Motivation (X2) have a significant influence on Career Interest in Taxation (Y) at the Bitung Dua Sudara Business and Management College and the Bitung Petra College of Economics. This shows that to increase career interest in taxation, it is important to develop knowledge and motivation related to the field. These two variables positively influence an individual's desire to pursue a career in the taxation profession.
