Suicide among adolescents is a serious mental health problem; however, not all adolescents with suicidal ideation progress to suicide attempts. Understanding the psychological factors that influence the transition from intention to actual behavior is essential for effective prevention efforts. This study aims to examine the role of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in understanding the transition from suicidal intention to suicide attempt behavior, as well as protective behaviors such as mental health help-seeking among adolescents. This study employs a literature review method with a quantitative correlational approach based on the TPB framework, using secondary data from scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025 and obtained through Google Scholar and PubMed. The findings indicate that suicidal ideation is the strongest predictor of suicidal intention but does not always lead to suicide attempts. TPB constructs, particularly perceived behavioral control (PBC), play a crucial role in determining whether intention develops into risky behavior or is redirected toward protective behaviors. In addition, positive attitudes toward mental health services and supportive social norms were found to strengthen adolescents’ intentions to seek help. In conclusion, TPB is a relevant theoretical framework for explaining both risk pathways and prevention pathways of adolescent suicide and has the potential to serve as a foundation for developing more effective prevention interventions.

The threat of terrorism involving the use of explosives poses a serious challenge to Indonesia’s national security, particularly in strategic regions such as North Sumatra. The suicide bombing incident at the Medan Police Headquarters in 2018 serves as a clear example of the urgency of preparedness and emergency response by the Bomb Disposal Unit (JIBOM) of the Brimob Unit at the North Sumatra Regional Police. Handling such situations requires not only high-level technical expertise but must also adhere to the principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) to ensure the protection of civilians. This study aims to examine the preparedness of the JIBOM Unit, assess emergency handling procedures for explosive threats based on national regulations, and analyze the conformity of these actions with the principles of humanitarian law. The research uses a normative and empirical juridical approach through literature review, field observation, and interviews with JIBOM personnel. The findings reveal that the JIBOM Unit has implemented an effective preparedness system through regular training, the use of modern technologies such as EOD robots and X-ray scanners, and the application of an integrated command system. Emergency handling procedures are carried out in accordance with police standard operating procedures (SOP) while prioritizing civilian safety. From a legal standpoint, JIBOM's actions align with key humanitarian principles such as distinction, proportionality, humanity, and military necessity, even though Indonesia is not in an armed conflict. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening regulations, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and improving public literacy to support the lawful and humane execution of bomb disposal operations.

Suicide is an act committed by individuals against themselves. This study aims to investigate the role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) in preventing suicide among young people. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a literature study approach, where data is collected through analysis and description of information from various sources, including books and journal articles. The results of the study show that CRE contributes to preventing suicide through the formation of identity and meaning in life. This study aims to analyze the enforcement of criminal law against cyberbullying that leads to suicide in Indonesia. The research employs a normative and empirical juridical approach by examining existing regulations and analyzing cases through interviews with law enforcement officials and related parties. The findings indicate that despite cyberbullying being regulated under the ITE Law and the Criminal Code, its enforcement still faces challenges, such as difficulties in identifying perpetrators due to digital anonymity, a lack of technical understanding among law enforcement officers, and low public awareness of the serious impact of online harassment. The cases of Yoga Cahyadi in Indonesia and Hana Kimura in Japan demonstrate that cyberbullying can cause severe psychological distress, ultimately driving victims to take their own lives. In conclusion, stricter regulations are needed to classify cyberbullying as a specific criminal offense with clearer sanctions. Additionally, strengthening the capacity of law enforcement in cybercrime investigations and enhancing digital literacy education among the public are crucial preventive measures. Public awareness campaigns and collaboration between the government, social media platforms, and educational institutions are also necessary to create a safer and harassment-free digital environment.
