The digital era has transformed communication patterns among millennials and Gen Z in Indonesia. This study analyzes the phenomenon of code-mixing and code-switching on social media among students at STIE Balikpapan as representatives of the digital generation in a multiethnic environment. Employing a qualitative method with a virtual ethnography approach, data were collected through six months of virtual participant observation and systematic digital documentation across multiple social media platforms. The findings reveal that code-mixing predominantly occurs in intra-sentential and intra-lexical forms, while code-switching takes inter-sentential forms according to communication contexts. The primary factors driving mixed language use are social identity, communication efficiency, and audience adaptation. Balikpapan's multiethnic context enriches these practices through interactions among Indonesian, regional languages, and English. These findings contribute to the field of digital sociolinguistics and serve as a reference for language learning in higher education institutions and the development of Indonesian language policies.

This study aims to describe the form, meaning, and socio-cultural function of the register of language use in the short story Filosofi Kopi by Dee Lestari. The method used is descriptive qualitative with content analysis techniques, Halliday's register theory, and Lotman's cultural semiotics. The results of the study show that the form of register in this short story includes words (espresso, latte, cappuccino, macchiato), nominal phrases (filosofi kopi, signature coffee, kopi tiwus), idiomatic phrases (kopi paling flirtit), and metaphors (espresso as a life without nonsense, latte as a warm hug). The meaning of the register is divided into primary meaning (literal) and secondary meaning (cultural and symbolic) which construct the values of masculinity, gentleness, beauty, spirituality, and idealism of the characters. The socio-cultural functions of the register include community identity, expressive, evaluative, symbolic, narrative aesthetic, and ideological functions. This research supports Halliday's theory on the relationship between register and situational context, as well as Lotman's theory, which views literary language as a secondary modeling system that represents social and cultural realities. The results are expected to enrich the study of literary sociolinguistics and serve as authentic and contextual teaching materials for Indonesian language and literature in secondary schools.

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of code-switching and code-mixing in YouTube content by Noona Rosa as a linguistic practice in a multilingual digital context. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected from several of Noona Rosa's uploaded videos and analyzed in terms of form, function, and influencing factors in the use of Indonesian and Korean code variation. The findings reveal that code-switching is employed to express emotions, reinforce cultural identity, and build rapport with bilingual audiences. Meanwhile, code-mixing commonly appears in the insertion of Korean cultural terms into Indonesian sentence structures, serving as a communicative strategy of identity and cultural meaning preservation. The influencing factors include social context, speaker identity, discussion topics, and emotional expression. These findings contribute significantly to sociolinguistic studies and highlight how digital media serves as a platform for multicultural identity expression.

Many students study in Jakarta but seem to learn nothing. In fact, most of them cannot speak good and correct Indonesian, in fact, there are also students who have not mastered Indonesian vocabulary. Finding sociolinguistic factors that strengthen and weaken the use of Indonesian in the engineering field. This study uses quantitative methods and correlational descriptive surveys, namely research conducted to obtain information about data, then processed with statistics with the preliminary study stage carried out with a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of this study show the value of the determinant coefficient (R2) = 0.192, which means that around 19.2% of changes in sociolinguistic variables and learning achievement can be explained by student learning achievement. Then based on the results of the t-test, sig0.000 <0.005 was obtained, meaning that the influence was significant. In other words, sociolinguistic variables provide a significant positive contribution to the learning achievement of ITPLN students. The results of the F test obtained F count 14.04 sig0.000<0.005 Ftable shows that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a positive and significant influence. So it can also be concluded that the proposed hypothesis can be accepted.

This research examines the use of *amtsal* (parables/analogies) in the Quran from an Arabic sociolinguistic perspective. The main focus of the research is to analyze the forms of amtsal, their sociolinguistic functions, and the influence of socio-cultural context in the selection of Quranic amtsal. The research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis through literature study of primary and secondary sources. The research results show that amtsal in the Quran has three main forms: *musharrahah* (explicit), *kaminah* (implicit), and *mursalah* (free). The sociolinguistic functions of amtsal include educational functions in facilitating understanding of abstract concepts, persuasive functions in influencing attitudes and behavior, and communicative functions in bridging divine messages with socio-cultural contexts. The selection of amtsal is heavily influenced by the socio-cultural context of Arab society, including traditions, social conditions, and psychological aspects. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the Quran's communication methods and can serve as a reference in developing contemporary learning and da'wah methods.
