From the beginning of creation, God had forbidden the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, warning that anyone who ate it would face death. However, this warning was ignored when Eve, tempted by Satan's persuasion, chose to disobey God's command. This action led to sin, as it reflected a wrong decision and went against God's will. Originally, Adam and Eve lived in a state of holiness and freedom from sin. God Himself stated that humans were created in His image and likeness, meaning they possessed a purity and nobility that reflected His love. However, their decision to eat the forbidden fruit removed that purity. As a result, humans were separated from God's holiness and fell into sin. This is the basis for the teaching affirmed in Romans 3:23, which states that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This wrong choice had profound consequences, illustrating the importance of obedience to God's commands for maintaining purity and an intimate relationship with Him.

This article examines in depth the concept of protecting human dignity through the regulation of gaze and physical contact among mahram according to the Shafi‘i School of Islamic law. From an Islamic perspective, the preservation of dignity (ḥifẓ al-‘irḍ) occupies a highly fundamental position as part of the objectives of Islamic law, particularly in regulating social relations and family interactions. Although mahram relationships legally allow closer interaction, Islam continues to establish ethical boundaries to safeguard purity and moral values. This study is a normative legal research employing conceptual and normative-fiqh approaches, relying on primary sources such as the Qur’an, the Prophetic traditions (hadith), and classical as well as contemporary Shafi‘i jurisprudential literature. The findings indicate that the Shafi‘i School does not regard mahram relations as a sphere of absolute and unrestricted freedom, but instead provides clear regulations concerning gaze and physical contact. Visual interaction is permitted in a limited manner, restricted to certain parts of the body and subject to the condition that it does not provoke desire or potential moral temptation (fitnah). Meanwhile, physical contact is regulated more strictly and, in principle, is only permitted in situations of legitimate shar‘i necessity, such as medical treatment or emergency circumstances. Therefore, the regulation of gaze and physical contact among mahram in the Shafi‘i School functions as an instrument for protecting human dignity, preserving the sanctity of family relationships, and preventing behavioral deviations from an early stage.

This study explores the role of the Holy Spirit as the main actor in spreading the gospel according to the Book of Acts and its relevance to the church's current mission strategy. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach with literature review, this study examines biblical texts and theological literature that emphasize that since the events of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has been the main initiator of the church's mission movement. In Luke's narrative, the Holy Spirit not only empowers the disciples to witness, but also leads the direction of ministry, selects and sends missionaries, opens and closes mission paths, and affirms the inclusiveness of the gospel for non-Jewish nations. The Holy Spirit acts as a catalyst that transforms a weak community of disciples into a church that boldly proclaims the gospel, as seen in Peter's sermon and the rapid growth of the congregation. In addition, the Holy Spirit preserves the purity of the church, unites the congregation, and gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ. The results of this study confirm that the success of the early church's mission did not depend on human strategies, but on obedience to the Holy Spirit's leadership. The implication for the church today is the need to depend on the work of the Holy Spirit in evangelism, fellowship, and the development of the congregation's gifts, so that the church is able to respond to the challenges of the times with divine power and wisdom.

Parenting plays a crucial role in shaping a child's personality and religious values from an early age. This study aims to examine the concept of parenting from an Islamic perspective, particularly according to the views of Imam Al-Ghazali, a prominent Islamic scholar and thinker. The method used was a literature review with a descriptive analytical and historical approach. The results show that Islamic parenting, according to Al-Ghazali, is based on the principles of monotheism, faith, and noble morals derived from the Quran and Sunnah. Al-Ghazali viewed children as a trust from Allah, born in a state of fitrah (purity) and as potential beings who are the hope of the community. Educating children must be done from an early age because childhood is a golden period that is very decisive in character formation. The parenting methods recommended by Al-Ghazali include: (1) the habituation method to shape character through continuous practice; (2) the role model method, where parents serve as direct role models for children; (3) the storytelling method to instill moral values; (4) the advice method with a compassionate approach; and (5) reward and punishment methods applied wisely. Al Ghazali's parenting concept emphasizes the importance of parents' role in creating a conducive environment for children's spiritual, moral, and social development, which not only impacts worldly life but also the afterlife. This research contributes to the idea of the urgency of implementing Islamic teachings in educating and raising children in the digital era, which is full of various challenges.

This study aims to analyze the narrative dissonance in the corporate communication of the Aqua brand, especially in the context of the crisis of meaning that arises between claims of natural purity and technical findings related to the use of borewells in the production process. Using a qualitative approach through content and narrative analysis, the study integrates two main theoretical frameworks: the Narrative Paradigm (Fisher, 1984) and Image Repair Theory (Benoit, 1995). The analysis focused on how companies are building, maintaining, and renegotiating their corporate narrative amid public pressure and consumer expectations. The results show that the legitimacy crisis arises due to the symbolic mismatch between the narrative of "purity" communicated and the operational reality revealed to the public. This tension triggered a strategic response from the company in the form of public clarification, transparency of the production process, and repositioning of messages to restore consumer image and trust. This study confirms the importance of narrative coherence and reflexivity in corporate communications, especially in an era of digital openness that demands accountability and consistency between symbolic messages and tangible practices. These findings contribute to the study of crisis communication and brand image restoration strategies, as well as a reference for companies in designing ethical, transparent, and sustainable communication to maintain legitimacy and credibility in the eyes of the public.

The Famotu Ono Nihalo tradition is one of the essential rituals in the customary wedding ceremonies of the Nias community, particularly in Lasarabaene Village, Mandrehe Subdistrict, West Nias Regency. This tradition consists of giving advice to the bride, which is rich in moral, spiritual, and social values. The ritual not only affirms the bride’s status as a wife but also serves as a medium for transmitting cultural values and collective identity. However, along with the wave of modernization, this tradition has undergone changes in terms of its form, symbolic meaning, and cultural values. This study aims to reveal the symbolic meanings contained in the Famotu Ono Nihalo ritual and to analyze the forms of social interaction within it, including its transformation due to social change. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consist of traditional leaders, women elders, and community members who still practice and understand the tradition. The findings show that the white cloth symbolizes purity and blessing, while afo (betel quid) represents acceptance and social attachment. Although the ritual today tends to be simplified and some cultural symbols are no longer used, the core values such as parental advice, blessings, and the strengthening of social cohesion remain preserved. Therefore, Famotu Ono Nihalo continues to be relevant as a cultural heritage and a form of social education, even as it adapts to modern changes.

The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic communication framework. Data was collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders or wedding officiants, as well as cultural figures from the villages of Cendono and Bakalan in Pasuruan Regency. The findings of the study emphasize that the nonverbal symbols present in the ceremony carry meanings related to values of responsibility, role equality, purity, blessings, and affection, which are directed not only toward the bride and groom but also to the extended families and the surrounding community. Therefore, Javanese traditional marriage is not merely a ritual event, but also a means of preserving cultural teachings and spiritual values across generations. The ceremony reflects a strong bond between individuals, families, and the community, fostering social and spiritual harmony. Furthermore, this ceremony serves as a medium for strengthening intergenerational relationships within society, with the aim of preserving traditions and moral values in social life. Thus, a traditional Javanese wedding not only symbolizes the union of two individuals but also acts as a medium for maintaining and spreading cultural and spiritual values within the community.
