Bilingual instruction is a learning strategy that can help students understand learning materials while bridging the gap between the language used at school and the language spoken in daily life. This study aims to analyze the effect of bilingual instruction on students' understanding of the Ecosystem topic at SDK Gusung Karang, Koja Gete Village. The study was motivated by the fact that students predominantly use the Sikka language in their daily communication, making it difficult for them to understand lessons delivered solely in Indonesian. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research participants consisted of the fourth-grade homeroom teacher and fourth-grade students at SDK Gusung Karang. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that bilingual instruction has a positive impact on students' understanding of the Ecosystem topic. The use of the Sikka language helps students comprehend basic concepts, increases classroom participation, and enhances their confidence during the learning process. Meanwhile, Indonesian strengthens students' mastery of scientific terminology and academic language skills. Although students still experience difficulties in consistently using scientific terms in Indonesian, bilingual instruction improves their understanding and connects learning concepts with their real-life experiences. The effectiveness of this strategy depends on teachers' ability to manage language switching in a structured and consistent manner.

This study examines the emergence of localized English expressions in Indonesian social media discourse, highlighting how English is adapted and reinterpreted in multilingual digital contexts. While previous studies on English in Indonesia have primarily focused on formal domains such as education and language policy, limited attention has been given to informal online communication where linguistic innovation is highly visible. This study aims to analyze how English lexical items are re-semanticized and creatively transformed by Indonesian users on social media platforms. The study employed a qualitative approach using data collected from Instagram posts and comments, focusing on selected examples of English-derived expressions such as boba, gas, voucher, server, and suamiable. The analysis compares the conventional meanings of these terms in Inner Circle English with their localized meanings in Indonesian usage. The findings reveal that English functions as a flexible linguistic resource, undergoing processes of semantic shift, metaphorical extension, and lexical blending. These localized forms reflect users’ creativity as well as their ability to adapt global linguistic resources to local cultural contexts. The study concludes that English in Indonesian social media is not merely borrowed but actively reconstructed, contributing to the dynamic development of English in the Expanding Circle.

The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) in language education has provided new opportunities for students to practice English learning especially in speaking ability. This research explored what the students thought about speaking in English and whether or not they had positive opinions toward using AI-based learning to enhance their English speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMAN 19 Tebo. This research adopted a qualitative research design. Questionnaires and follow- up interviews with students who had used Replika AI as a tool for speaking practice were the methods of data collection. The findings indicated that students had different attitudes to speaking in English. Several students reported experiencing anxiety, lack of confidence, and fear of making mistakes when speaking in class. On the other hand, there were also some concerns regarding the tool’s artificial intelligence design of Replika AI. The interaction with an AI-service app for all participants interacting with the AI application was associated with English practice on their own terms and without feeling judged. Moreover, the program generated an interactive context where the students could practice their conversations, and build their ideas more confidently. As has been elaborated above, the results showed that Replika AI was seen as a helpful instrument to practice English speaking and reduced students’ anxiety of speaking. The study recommends that AI- mediated learning has the potential to be an alternative medium for speaking practice in the EFL context.

The increase in activity and security threats on Ubuntu server causes the volume of system logs to become very large and difficult to analyze manually. This condition potentially leads administrators to experience delays in detecting abnormal activities, such as repeated login attempts and web access patterns related to online gambling promotions. Therefore, this research aims to develop a machine learning-based Early Warning System capable of automatically detecting anomalous activities. The system is developed using the Python programming language and runs on an Ubuntu server by utilizing authentication logs and web access logs as the main data sources. The anomaly detection model is trained using normal activity data collected directly from the Ubuntu server logs to learn standard system behavior patterns. During the operational phase, the system reads server logs in real-time, extracts activity features, and analyzes them using the Isolation Forest algorithm. Activities detected as anomalies trigger alert notifications via Telegram to the administrator without performing automatic blocking. The results show that the system is able to provide early warnings for suspicious activities, thereby helping to improve server security more effectively.
