Divorce is an increasing social reality within Christian congregations, including in Indonesia, bringing profound psychological, social, and spiritual impacts while simultaneously presenting serious challenges for the church's pastoral ministry. This article examines the theological foundation and practical approaches in pastoral accompaniment for congregation members experiencing divorce, employing library research methodology within a pastoral theology framework. The study reveals that the church is called to be present not as a judge, but as a healing, supportive, and restoring community. Effective pastoral accompaniment encompasses empathetic pastoral counseling, a compassionate congregational community, intentional attention to affected children, and a long-term restoration commitment rooted in Gospel grace. The church is called to move beyond stigmatization toward genuine acceptance of wounded individuals, reflecting the redemptive love of Christ. This article concludes that the church's response to divorce must balance biblical integrity with deep compassion, affirming both the sanctity of marriage and the dignity of broken individuals. Thus, the church can become a safe space for every congregation member to experience genuine restoration and rediscover hope in Christ.

This study aims to overhaul the conventional understanding of tourism through a missiological lens, by positioning social interactions at the Parbubu Tarutung Soda Water Tourism Object as the locus of Missio Dei (God's Mission) manifestation. Amidst the tendency of modern humans to be trapped in egocentrism, alienation, and minimal openness due to secular routines, God is present with a mission to transform human relations. Using a qualitative descriptive-theological method, this study analyzes three axes of social interaction (inter-tourists, tourists-managers, and tourists-local communities). The results of field research indicate that although the pattern of interaction between visitors is still minimalist and egocentric-group due to a purely physical recreation orientation, there is a strong spiritual modality in the service aspect (hospitality) of the managers that reflects the restoration of the image of God (Imago Dei). The absence of social conflict and the presence of sincere hospitality are identified not merely as business strategies, but as real implications of the work of the Holy Spirit who precedes the church (prevenient grace) in destroying human egoism. This study concludes that tourism can be an eschatological means by which social interactions are transformed into encounters that bring about God's Shalom, meaning that tourism can be a way to bring about God's peace through authentic encounters between tourists, rather than simply ordinary tourist transactions. The author recommends the reconstruction of public spaces in this destination as inclusive communal spaces that facilitate reconciliation and social transformation.

A faith-based marriage strengthening program is essential for building family resilience in urban congregations facing high divorce rates and declining marital quality. This community service activity aimed to revitalize the marital bonds of 22 couples in the Pria Sejati Bandung community and GPPS Agape Bandung congregation through the "Reborn Marriage" program. Using a participatory action research approach, a team of 12 facilitators implemented three main stages: initial coordination to identify needs and plan together with the community; an intensive one-day intervention consisting of teachings on grace, agape love, and divine purpose of marriage, along with testimony sharing, footwashing ritual, and gift giving; and a marriage commitment renewal ceremony. The results showed 100% attendance rate of all registered couples, active participation in every coaching session, and qualitative findings from focus group discussions including renewed spiritual intimacy, mutual forgiveness between spouses, and alignment of marital visions based on divine values. A total of 86% of couples expressed willingness to participate in regular follow-up mentoring, and local leaders emerged among participants who are ready to facilitate small groups after the program. Discussions confirmed that combining biblical teachings on agape love with experiential symbolic rituals can holistically transform marital relationships. This community-based intervention proves replicable in other local communities and churches in urban settings, especially those seeking to strengthen family resilience through integrated pastoral care and participatory action.

Counseling etymologically derives from the noun counsel, which originates from the Latin consilium, rooted in consilere, meaning “to consult,” or to seek the views and advice of others as guidance for consideration and decision-making. As a verb, to counsel or counseling refers to the act of providing advice, guidance, warnings, encouragement, and instruction aimed at fostering self-surrender in addressing problems and managing negative behaviors among students. Educational guidance and counseling aim to strengthen Christian students to live victoriously in the Lord Jesus Christ by bringing them to an understanding of the light of God’s Word and the acceptance of themselves as God’s grace. This Classroom Action Research was conducted to address and resolve the problems of Christian students based on the research formulation, particularly through the application of intellectual, moral, and social approaches as strategic steps to enhance educational counseling services. The study employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews and field notes. Data analysis was carried out by categorizing findings to generate emerging themes. In-depth interviews and focus group discussions were conducted with three teacher participants and two student participants. The findings revealed that several students required special attention due to tendencies toward delinquent behavior, while one case indicated a student’s involvement in narcotics. These findings demonstrate that student-related issues require special intervention efforts to improve their spiritual and mental well-being, leading them to a deeper knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The ultimate goal is the salvation of students’ souls and the glorification of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Taxes are a primary source of state revenue and play a crucial role in supporting national development. However, increasing tax revenue still faces several challenges, particularly the lack of public awareness in fulfilling tax obligations. This study aims to examine the role of public awareness in improving taxpayer compliance and its impact on state revenue. The approach used in this research is qualitative, reviewing literature from various previous studies. Research findings indicate that tax awareness, understanding, and knowledge have a positive impact on taxpayer compliance. Other economic factors such as inflation, population, and economic growth also play a role in influencing tax revenue. However, external factors such as socialization and tax sanctions show inconsistent results. Consequently, increasing public awareness through tax education is a key strategy for sustainably improving the country's performance. In addition, transparent tax management and effective government communication are important factors in strengthening public trust and encouraging voluntary taxpayer compliance. Therefore, collaboration between the government and society is needed to create a sustainable and effective taxation system that supports national economic growth.

The New Testament is an essential part of the Christian Bible, containing testimonies concerning the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as the development of the early Church. To fully understand its message, it is necessary to examine the historical and theological contexts that shaped its composition. This article aims to explore the New Testament from historical and theological perspectives by examining the social, political, cultural, and religious background of the first-century world, the process of the writing of the New Testament books, and their principal theological messages. The study employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach to various biblical and theological sources. The findings indicate that the New Testament emerged within the context of Roman rule, Jewish religious traditions, and Hellenistic cultural influences, all of which shaped both the authors and their audiences. The books of the New Testament were written to address the needs of early Christian communities, affirm the identity of Jesus Christ, strengthen believers' faith, and provide guidance for Christian living. Theologically, the New Testament emphasizes central themes such as the Kingdom of God, salvation through Jesus Christ, grace, the formation of the Church, and eschatological hope. Therefore, an understanding of the historical background and theological message of the New Testament is essential for accurate interpretation and for maintaining its relevance to the life of the Church and contemporary Christian believers.

This study critically examines the transformation of the regulatory framework governing Fixed-Term Employment Agreements (Perjanjian Kerja Waktu Tertentu/PKWT) following the enactment of Indonesia’s Job Creation Law and its implications for workers’ legal protection. The research focuses on the paradigm shift from a worker-protection-oriented model toward labor market flexibility and its impact on employment security. Using a normative juridical approach, this study employs comparative legal analysis between the Manpower Act No. 13 of 2003 and the Job Creation Law No. 6 of 2023, along with its implementing regulation, Government Regulation No. 35 of 2021. The analysis is supported by systematic statutory interpretation, labor law doctrine, and Constitutional Court Decision No. 168/PUU-XXI/2023. The findings reveal a significant regulatory shift characterized by the extension of the maximum duration of fixed-term contracts, the removal of mandatory grace periods for contract renewal, and the substantial narrowing of grounds for automatic conversion of PKWT into permanent employment agreements (PKWTT). Although the Job Creation Law introduces new protective instruments, including end-of-contract compensation and expanded social security coverage, these measures are insufficient to offset the decline in job security and legal certainty for workers. Consequently, workers face an increased risk of prolonged employment precarity. This study underscores the urgency of rebalancing labor market flexibility with the constitutional rights of workers in Indonesia’s future labor law reform. Keywords: Job Creation Law; Fixed-Term Employment Agreement (PKWT); Legal Protection; Labor Market Flexibility; Precarious Work; Constitutional Court Decision.

This study analyzes pragmatic phenomena in digital communication, particularly those related to speech acts and their impact on public perception in the controversial case of an ice cube seller accused without clear basis by the authorities. This study applies a qualitative approach with a pragmatic analysis method based on discourse analysis. Data sources were obtained from online media news, social media posts, and official statements circulating in the digital public space. The analysis techniques used include identifying types of speech acts, interpreting implied meanings based on context, and analyzing public responses. The results show that statements from the authorities contain implications that trigger negative views even though they are not supported by strong evidence. This results in perlocutionary effects in the form of social stigma, reputational damage, and psychological stress for the victim. Conversely, the victim's communication strategies, which include being polite, defensive, and informative, can build a positive image and attract public sympathy. Furthermore, social media plays a crucial role in accelerating the spread of meaning and strengthening the construction of opinions through mass support and criticism. This research makes a significant contribution to enriching the study of pragmatics in the context of digital communication and emphasizes the importance of language ethics, media literacy, and pragmatic awareness in creating responsible public communication.

The hospitality industry is a strategic sector within the global tourism system that heavily depends on service quality and food safety assurance. In hotel operations, the pastry division represents a high-risk unit due to the use of perishable ingredients and intensive manual handling processes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of hygiene and sanitation practices in the Pastry Division of Hotel Aruss Semarang in supporting food safety standards within the hospitality industry. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), sanitation checklists, and temperature control records. Data validity was strengthened through triangulation and member checking, while thematic analysis was used to identify key implementation patterns. The findings indicate that the implementation of personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) has generally complied with most of the requirements of Good Processed Food Manufacturing Practices (CPPOB). The availability of sanitation facilities, periodic medical check-ups, equipment maintenance, and FIFO-based storage systems demonstrate management commitment to preventive risk control. However, inconsistencies in handwashing practices and minor construction details that do not fully meet hygienic design standards indicate areas requiring improvement. Overall, hygiene and sanitation implementation in the Pastry Division has been effective in supporting food safety. Strengthening behavioral compliance, continuous training, and facility optimization are recommended to achieve a more sustainable and comprehensive food safety management system.

Digital spirituality is a way of living and expressing spiritual life within the context of the digital world, where technology serves as a medium to strengthen one’s relationship with God, oneself, and the community. It is therefore a conscious effort to maintain and nurture faith amid the overwhelming flow of information on social media. The concept of From Scroll to Soul encourages believers not merely to be passive recipients of information but to engage spiritually by using technology as a tool for faith formation. Practices such as using spiritual apps, participating in online communities, selecting constructive content, and conducting digital detoxes are important steps to maintain focus on God. Theologically, digital spirituality affirms that God is present in every aspect of life, including virtual spaces. Technology can become a tool of grace that deepens one’s relationship with God and serves as a space for witnessing faith when used wisely. Thus, digital spirituality is not a rejection of technology but rather its use as a medium for growth, testimony, and bringing Christ’s values into the modern information culture.

This study aims to demonstrate that a lack of curiosity is a fundamental factor influencing adolescents’ preference for social media over traditional news outlets. To examine this issue, the research employed a mixed-method approach combining quantitative and qualitative data gathered through questionnaires. A total of 30 informants participated and were categorized into two developmental groups: early adolescents aged 12–14 and middle adolescents aged 15–17. The questionnaire explored respondents’ curiosity levels, information-seeking habits, and motivations for choosing certain media platforms. The findings indicate that low curiosity significantly contributes to the preference for social media among early adolescents. At this stage, their interest in deeper information is still limited, making them more inclined toward fast, simple, and entertaining content. However, the hypothesis is less applicable to middle adolescents. Although they also frequently use social media, their media choices are influenced by additional factors such as peer dynamics, a growing sense of autonomy, and broader exposure to information from various sources. This difference suggests that the relationship between curiosity and media preference becomes more complex as adolescents mature. Overall, the study highlights that strategies to encourage critical information-seeking behavior must be tailored to adolescents’ developmental stages.

This research explores the narrative of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:1-16 to dissect the concepts of sin and moral responsibility within a modern Christian context. Amidst the rising tide of individualism and "bystander culture," ethical responsibility toward others is often neglected behind religious formalities. Utilizing a qualitative method with a biblical exegesis approach, this study analyzes narrative structures, the personification of sin, and the dynamics of the dialogue between God and Cain. The findings indicate that sin in this text is understood as a relational failure and a failure of self-mastery, where humans possess the moral authority to conquer destructive impulses. Cain's rhetorical question, “Am I my brother’s keeper?”, is identified as a form of moral erosion leading to social and ecological alienation. However, God’s provision of a “mark” for Cain affirms that divine justice is always accompanied by the grace of providence. This research concludes that moral responsibility is a fundamental essence of humanity that demands the integration of ritual piety and social integrity. These findings are expected to serve as an ethical framework for academic and ecclesiastical communities, particularly in restoring the commitment to be “keepers” of one another amidst contemporary moral crises.

This article explores the meaning of human life through the lens of value, choice, and ultimate purpose. Drawing from the analogy of nature, the study argues that human existence is likewise structured around meaning rather than randomness. Human beings inevitably encounter diverse and sometimes conflicting values, requiring discernment and responsible decision-making. Not all values carry equal weight; their significance depends on their proximity to the ultimate goal of human life understood in its totality. The paper identifies three fundamental attitudes toward life: a pessimistic stance that perceives life as failure, a hedonistic stance that seeks satisfaction and pleasure, and a constructive stance that embraces life as a meaningful vocation. Through a reflective-ethical approach, the discussion highlights the importance of mission, prioritization, empathetic communication, synergy, and continual self-renewal. Ultimately, the quality of human existence is determined by the values one chooses to uphold and the orientation of life toward a higher, integrative purpose.

This study aims to explore the influence of formal language skills on the use of slang among first-semester students in the English Language and Literature Education Program at Muhammadiyah University Maumere. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects consisting of first-year students. Information was collected through observation, questionnaire distribution, and brief interviews about daily language use habits and academic contexts. The findings of this study indicate that the majority of students actively use slang when interacting informally, especially when communicating with peers and on social media platforms. The use of slang serves as a way to express identity, build social solidarity, and facilitate social adjustment. However, deficiencies in formal language skills make it difficult for some students to recognize the appropriate use of language in context, so that elements of slang often creep into academic situations, such as in class discussions and assignment writing. This study concludes that formal language skills have an impact on the use of slang. Students with high formal language skills tend to be better at switching between language varieties according to context, while those with low formal skills are at greater risk of mixing them up.

Floods and landslides in Hutanabolon Village, Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency have disrupted access to food and health services, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children. Public kitchens, as the frontline of emergency nutrition response, face challenges in providing food that meets the specific nutritional needs of children. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of public kitchens at Disaster Emergency Response Posts (TDB) in meeting the nutritional needs of post-disaster children, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate recommendations for improving the public kitchen management system. The research employed a descriptive evaluative approach using survey methods, structured interviews, direct observation, 24-hour dietary recall, and anthropometric measurements (weight and height). The study subjects included 15 children aged 1–12 years and 8 public kitchen managers selected purposively. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing nutritional intake against the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) standards and analyzing kitchen management practices based on emergency nutrition guidelines. The findings revealed that children's average energy intake was only 1,140 kcal/day (below the minimum standard of 1,200–2,000 kcal/day) and protein intake was 18.7 g/day (below the standard of 20–35 g/day). A total of 33.3% of children were classified as having malnutrition to severe malnutrition based on weight-for-age indicators. Public kitchen management showed weaknesses in menu planning (100% had no child-specific menu), managers' nutritional knowledge (62.5% categorized as low), food availability (75% relied on instant aid without variation), and limited cross-sectoral coordination (50%). The effectiveness of public kitchens in meeting children's nutritional needs after disasters remains low.

Jamu is a traditional medicine still widely consumed by the public, but it has the potential to be contaminated with the heavy metals lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd), which are toxic and can cause health problems, particularly to the liver and kidneys. Heavy metal contamination can originate from raw materials grown in polluted environments and from processing, storage, and packaging that do not meet quality standards, particularly for products that have not undergone official supervision. This study aims to analyze the content of lead and cadmium metals in registered and unregistered herbal medicine products. The analysis was carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method after sample preparation through wet digestion using strong acid. Six herbal medicine dosage forms were analyzed, namely powder, chopped, pills, capsules, cream, and shake parem. Method validation included tests for linearity, precision, limit of detection, and limit of quantification to ensure the reliability of the analysis results. The results showed that all registered herbal medicine samples met the safety requirements for Pb and Cd. In contrast, several unregistered herbal medicine preparations, especially powder, chopped, and cream, did not meet the safety requirements for Cd, while the Pb levels in all samples met the safety requirements for Pb. These findings indicate that unregistered herbal medicines carry a higher risk of heavy metal contamination. Therefore, strengthening quality control, selecting safe raw materials, and increasing compliance with regulations are necessary to ensure the safety of herbal medicine consumption and protect public health.

Marriage has an important role in shaping the family structure in society. However, in recent years, the marriage rate in Indonesia has experienced a significant decline, reaching 7.51% in 2023. This decline is caused by various factors, one of which is the increase in cases of Domestic Violence (KDRT), which gives a negative image to the institution of marriage. This article aims to examine the stigma of violence and the fading of the institution of marriage. This research aims to analyze the views of employees of PT. Sicepat Express Indonesia from 2018 to 2023. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to understand employees' views on this issue.  Based on data, in 2023 there will be 289,111 cases of violence against women and 351,828 divorces, of which domestic violence is the main factor. The results show that many individuals feel worried and reluctant to get married due to the growing negative stigma. These findings reveal that domestic violence not only has a direct impact on victims, but also affects the way people, especially the younger generation, view marriage as an institution that ideally brings happiness.
