Substance and prescription drug misuse among adolescents continues to escalate and demands targeted preventive strategies within the school setting. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ knowledge about the hazards of drug abuse through an interactive, school-based educational intervention. The program was conducted on 11 November 2026 at SMA Negeri 7 Kota Batam, involving fifty grade-X students as participants. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The intervention combined interactive lectures, real-case illustrations, and two-way discussion, with knowledge measured using a content-validated questionnaire covering ten indicators. The mean score improved from 55.2 (pretest) to 86.3 (posttest), a gain of 31.1 points, while the proportion of correct answers across indicators rose from 48.6-62.9% to 80.0-91.4%. The largest gains appeared on items concerning rational drug use and the importance of professional health guidance, whereas the legal-consequence indicator improved more modestly. Interactive, contextually relevant education proves effective in elevating adolescent knowledge of drug abuse hazards, with stronger gains on experience-near content than on abstract regulatory aspects.

The health of elementary school-aged children is a crucial phase for physical growth and cognitive development, but the school environment is often vulnerable to the spread of disease due to a lack of understanding of hygiene. This community service activity aims to increase students' awareness of the dangers of germs at SD Negeri Sumberbulu 1 through education on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) with a primary focus on Handwashing with Soap (CTPS). The implementation method is carried out through three stages: preparation and coordination, educational implementation using animated videos and live demonstrations of the 6 steps of CTPS, and the follow-up stage. The results of the activity showed that the use of visual media and icebreakers effectively increased students' enthusiasm and understanding in absorbing the health steps taught. As a form of sustainability, the team coordinated with the school, which then expressed its willingness to integrate the CTPS scheme into the school's daily routine independently. Thus, this program successfully transformed healthy behavior into a permanent school culture to maintain the quality of life for the next generation.

Waste management is a major challenge in environmental conservation in Indonesia. One innovative approach that can be implemented is the use of informative waste signs as a visual educational medium for the public. Waste signs are information boards placed in strategic locations to provide knowledge about the types of waste, their environmental impacts, and the decomposition time of various materials. The Community Service Program (KKN) of Padang State University (UNP) has implemented this concept by creating educational boards containing information on waste decomposition time, ranging from waste that decomposes in 50–100 years to waste that does not decompose at all. This article aims to examine the concept, benefits, and effectiveness of waste signs as a community-based environmental education instrument. The methods used include field observation and a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study indicate that waste signs can increase public awareness of the importance of proper waste management. Thus, this medium has the potential to be a simple yet effective educational tool in supporting sustainable environmentally friendly behavior.

The rapid advancement of technology has made it easier for the public to access online loans (pinjol), but it has also increased the risk of misuse by illegal entities. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded that from 2018 to 2022, it shut down 4,265 illegal online lending platforms. However, many cases continue to emerge due to the ease of creating applications and the use of overseas servers. Teachers are among the most affected victims due to low salaries and high living costs. The impacts of illegal online loans are highly detrimental, including the leakage of personal data, threats, intimidation, and excessively high interest rates. Education is crucial to prevent new victims. Dating violence among adolescents is a phenomenon that is often unnoticed and hidden behind relationships considered to be normal. Many adolescents get caught in unhealthy relationships due to a lack of understanding about boundaries and the types of violence that can occur in dating relationships, such as physical, verbal, emotional, and sexual abuse. Dating violence is often seen as part of the normal dynamics of a relationship, but it can have significant negative impacts on the mental and physical health of adolescents involved. This study aims to provide education on the importance of recognizing signs of dating violence and to encourage adolescents to build healthy, equitable relationships. Through educational activities, it is hoped that adolescents can increase their awareness of dating violence, understand the importance of boundaries, and gain the courage to take action if they or their partners experience violence. This education also aims to foster empathy, respect, and healthy communication skills between adolescent couples. The education provided includes information that helps adolescents recognize the different forms of violence and how to avoid them. It also emphasizes the importance of open communication and mutual support in relationships. With good communication skills, adolescents are expected to resolve conflicts constructively and keep their relationships positive. Values of equality and mutual respect in relationships are also introduced to ensure that both partners feel valued and respected. With a better understanding of healthy relationships, it is hoped that adolescents will be able to make better decisions in their relationships. Through ongoing education, dating violence can be prevented from an early age. This will allow adolescents to engage in safer, more respectful, and positive relationships, while reducing the negative effects of dating violence.

Smoking remains a major public health issue that is difficult to address, particularly among adolescents. The rising number of young smokers is a concerning issue due to the long-term detrimental consequences it poses, both in terms of health, social, and economic aspects. Adolescence is a period of identity exploration and challenges, and unfortunately, many young people fall into the habit of smoking. The community service conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Seram Bagian Barat on october 17, 2024, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking and prevention efforts. The activity involved socialization, interactive discussions, and pre-test and post-test assessments to measure participants' knowledge changes. The results showed an increase in students' knowledge about the dangers of smoking. Additionally, interviews with participants revealed that peer influence and family environment played a significant role in influencing adolescent smoking behavior. These findings support Bandura's Social Learning Theory, which states that behavior is largely influenced by observation of one's social environment. Efforts to prevent smoking among adolescents need to involve active participation from families, schools, and communities.
