This community service program aims to empower the community of Ujung Tanah District, Makassar City in circular economy-based waste management. Ujung Tanah District as a coastal area with high population density faces complex waste problems, especially waste that ends up in the sea and disrupts the coastal ecosystem. The activities were conducted in four urban villages, namely Ujung Tanah, Tabaringan, Pattingalloang, and Pattingalloang Baru, involving 120 households as direct participants. The implementation methods included socialization and education, waste sorting and processing training, establishment of Waste Banks, mentoring for recycled product creation, and marketing system development. The results showed a significant improvement in community knowledge about waste management, with average scores increasing from 45.2 to 82.6. Four active Waste Bank units were established with a total of 320 household customers. The managed waste volume reached 2.4 tons per month with an economic value of IDR 8,500,000 per month. Recycled products include ecobrick crafts, bags from plastic packaging, and compost fertilizer. This program successfully changed the community paradigm from dumping waste into the sea to managing waste as a source of income.

This study aims to describe the implementation of ecobrick activities as an environmentally friendly initiative and as a strategy to enhance fine motor development in early childhood aged 4-6 years in Jatirejo Village, Pasuruan Regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, documentation, and hands-on ecobrick practice. The findings indicate that the ecobrick process-which includes collecting plastic waste, washing, drying, cutting, inserting plastic pieces into bottles, and compressing the contents-effectively improves children’s fine motor skills, particularly in hand-eye coordination, finger strength, accuracy, and cutting ability. Children demonstrated positive responses, including high enthusiasm, curiosity, and increased awareness of environmental preservation. The activity also strengthened children’s social development through cooperation, communication, and shared responsibility. Overall, ecobrick activities function not only as an innovative waste-management solution but also as an educational medium that holistically supports child development and instills environmental awareness from an early age.

The issue of inorganic waste such as plastic and used paper in industrial environments remains an important issue that affects the cleanliness and aesthetics of work areas. PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal Rewulu faces challenges in managing non-hazardous solid waste due to limited sorting systems and waste transportation frequency. This Community Service activity aims to improve workers' understanding and skills through socialization and training in making ecobricks as a solution for utilizing inorganic waste. The methods used include pre-activity stages, socialization and hands-on practice, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge after the training, proving the effectiveness of interactive methods in strengthening understanding of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) concept. In addition to reducing waste volume, this activity also fostered awareness and participation among workers in creating a clean and sustainable work environment. The results of this community service are important as a first step in building a culture of independent waste management in industrial environments and can be replicated in other locations with a similar approach. This Community Service Programme was implemented to address the issues faced by Bank Sampah Anggrek's partners in Bendogerit Village, Blitar City. The main problems faced by the partners included limited variety of recycled products, simple waste processing techniques, and ineffective marketing strategies. Activities include socialisation, strengthening local partnerships, recycling training, and digital marketing assistance. As a result, members of the Waste Bank were able to create three new products: plant pots made from orange peels, carnival costumes made from fabric and plastic waste, and ecobrick furniture, and establish collaborations with two local businesses. The constraints of the Community Service Programme activities included limited production facilities, inconsistent participant attendance, low digital literacy, and competition with traditional waste collectors. This programme demonstrates that a waste bank-based sociopreneurship model can have economic, social, and environmental impacts while supporting sustainable waste management strategies. The programme was also successful due to its participatory approach, which actively involved Anggrek Waste Bank members in every step. Participants not only gained new information, but also acquired practical skills that can be used in the processing and marketing of recycled goods. This community service programme greatly helps to raise awareness of the importance of community-based circular economy. While reducing negative impacts on the environment, the sociopreneurship model can boost the community's economy. Bank Sampah Anggrek has the potential to develop into a centre for sustainable waste management innovation at the neighbourhood level by strengthening local capacity and opening up opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.

Plastic waste remains a pressing issue in Bakung Village, Teluk Betung Barat Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung City, as it affects public health, reduces environmental aesthetics, and triggers flooding due to poor waste management systems. In response, the 2025 Integrated Community Service Program (KKN) of UIN Raden Intan Lampung, through Group 98, applied the ecobrick method as a community-based alternative for managing plastic waste. This study adopted an appropriate technology approach with descriptive qualitative methods, namely observation, interviews, and documentation, to analyze field conditions and evaluate program outcomes. The results demonstrated the successful construction of a ±1-meter monument spelling “Bakung,” which incorporated more than 350 used plastic bottles as ecobricks. Beyond beautifying the environment and serving as a landmark, the monument inspired local residents to participate actively in sorting waste and making ecobricks. Community involvement was particularly visible during material collection and production stages, reflecting the effectiveness of a participatory approach. Additionally, this activity had an educational impact by showing that plastic waste can be transformed into useful and aesthetically valuable products. Although limited time and energy became major challenges, these were addressed through continuous mentoring. Overall, the program proved that ecobricks offer a practical and innovative solution for reducing plastic waste and contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11 and 12.

Plastic waste continues to be one of the most pressing environmental problems due to its persistence, excessive use in daily life, and difficulty in decomposition. In many communities, including Tanjung Uban Selatan Village, unmanaged plastic waste accumulates in the environment, contributing to pollution and health risks. This community service activity aims to introduce and implement ecobricks as a simple yet effective solution to manage plastic waste. Ecobricks are not designed to destroy plastic but to recycle and repurpose it into useful and even marketable products. The process of making ecobricks requires no special expertise or significant costs, as the primary material is household plastic waste. The activity involved socialization, practical workshops, and guidance for residents on how to properly produce ecobricks. Results from the program show that residents were able to collect and process previously unmanaged plastic waste into solid, reusable building blocks. These ecobricks have potential applications for creating furniture, decorative items, and even small-scale construction, thereby providing both environmental and economic value. Beyond reducing plastic waste, the initiative also fosters community awareness about sustainable waste management practices and promotes environmental responsibility. In conclusion, the introduction of ecobricks in Tanjung Uban Selatan Village demonstrates that simple innovations can empower communities to transform environmental challenges into opportunities for sustainability and income generation.

Plastic is a non-organic waste that has uses, especially in daily activities. Plastic is widely used by traders to package food and others. The widespread use of plastic by the community and its indiscriminate disposal after use can lead to the accumulation of waste. The problem can be solved with the 3R strategy, namely Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Not all locations have facilities to dispose of waste. Nowadays, landfills are a necessity, so it is necessary to provide these facilities. The solution is to make ecobrick products because they can be made easily. This research aims to increase public awareness in Pamarayan Village, Jiput Sub-district, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province regarding ecobrick products as an invitation to care for the environment in order to create a healthy environment. The method used was the observation method and the approach was training in ecobricking. The result is that the community can understand the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and health through proper waste sorting, and are able to make ecobrick products in the form of trash cans from bottle waste for personal or community use.
