California papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) are known to contain various active compounds that have the potential to stimulate appetite and boost metabolism, making them a promising candidate for development as a pharmaceutical formulation. This study aims to design a capsule formulation of California papaya leaf extract with appropriate excipients and to evaluate its ability to increase body weight through preclinical testing using a zebrafish (Danio rerio). The extract was obtained via maceration with 96% ethanol and formulated into capsules using the wet granulation method in four variations (F0–F3). Physical evaluations included organoleptic properties, flowability, angle of repose, loss on drying, disintegration time, weight uniformity, and stability testing using the cycling test method. The results indicated that all formulas met the physical requirements, with disintegration times of 3–4 minutes and loss on drying <15%. Formula F2 exhibited the most optimal physical characteristics; however, stability testing revealed a decline in physical properties after extreme temperature treatment. Efficacy tests showed a significant increase in zebrafish weight (p < 0.05), with F3 yielding the best results. A high survival rate (≥80%) suggests the formulation is relatively safe. In conclusion, California papaya leaf extract capsules demonstrate significant potential as an agent to promote weight gain.

Public facility cleanliness is a reflection of cultural values and collective social responsibility. Bus stops, as daily transit points for thousands of commuters, often face declining cleanliness due to limited user participation and management. This community service program was conducted on April 22, 2026, at RSAL Bus Stop, Surabaya, Indonesia, with one researcher as the sole implementer. The objectives were to improve physical cleanliness, provide environmental education, and enhance aesthetics through greening. The method consisted of three activities: installing cleanliness reminder posters, cleaning the bus stop area, and adding ornamental plants in flower pots. Evaluation employed qualitative descriptive techniques, including observation, photographic documentation, and informal interviews. Findings revealed that the bus stop floor, initially littered with plastic waste, cigarette butts, and dry leaves, became clean after sweeping. Posters were successfully placed in visible positions, and three flower pots containing Sansevieria trifasciata and Epipremnum aureum created a fresher atmosphere. Users responded positively, noting improved comfort and cleanliness. The synthesis indicates that simple interventions by a single individual can generate meaningful improvements when combining physical cleaning, visual education, and greening. This initiative demonstrates that small-scale university-led social responsibility programs can serve as replicable models for sustainable public facility management.

The purpose of this study was to determine how the application of Local Microorganisms (LOM) from stale rice and oil palm boiler ash impacts the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) and to determine the interaction between the two treatments. Shallots are a horticultural commodity with high economic value, so efforts are needed to increase production through the use of environmentally friendly organic materials. The study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was LOM from stale rice with four levels (0, 20, 40, and 60 ml/L water/plot) and the second factor was oil palm boiler ash with four levels (0, 500, 1000, and 1500 grams/plot), resulting in 16 treatment combinations and 48 experimental plots. The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, fresh weight of bulbs, dry weight of bulbs, and bulb diameter. If there was a significant effect, the data were tested using analysis of variance (ANOVA). This research is expected to produce scientific data on the use of organic waste as an environmentally friendly fertilizer alternative.

Edamame soybean plants are classified as a type of legume, growing upright and with dense leaves. Edamame soybeans can be consumed fresh or processed. One of the soils that can be planted with edamame is peat soil. However, peat soil still has obstacles such as acidic soil conditions and poor nitrogen (N) nutrients in the soil. Low nitrogen content in peat soil can be overcome by adding N fertilizer and photosynthetic bacteria. The use of photosynthetic bacteria in cultivating edamame soybeans can help increase nitrogen supply by fixing nitrogen (N) in the air. This research aims to determine the efficiency of applying a combination of nitrogen fertilizer and photosynthetic bacteria on the growth and yield of edamame soybeans in peat soil. This research was carried out in Pontianak City, with a research duration of approximately 3 months starting from 17 June - 29 August 2023. This research used a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely; n1= 25 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria, n2= 50 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria, n3= 75 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria, n4= 100 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria. The variables observed in this study consisted of plant height, number of productive branches, root volume, plant dry weight, number of root nodules, flowering age, number of pods and pod weight. The postpartum period is a crucial phase for mothers to recover after childbirth. One of the common problems is perineal wounds, caused either by episiotomy or spontaneous rupture, which require proper care to prevent infection and accelerate healing. This case study aimed to provide midwifery care for Mrs. M, 28 years old, P3A0H3, with a second-degree perineal wound at PMB Bd. Silvi Ayu, S.Keb. The SOAP approach was applied through assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation over five days (June 12–16, 2025). Interventions included education on perineal hygiene, encouragement of nutritious food intake, light mobilization, and perineal wound care using boiled binahong leaves. The results showed decreased pain, reduced edema, a dry wound, and complete healing on the fifth day, with the REEDA score decreasing from 11 to 0. The discussion emphasized that flavonoids, saponins, and ascorbic acid in binahong leaves contribute to tissue regeneration and faster healing. Limitations of this study included the short monitoring period, limited sample, and reliance on maternal compliance. In conclusion, binahong leaf decoction was found to be effective, practical, and able to enhance maternal independence in wound care. This study is expected to serve as a reference for midwifery practice and as a basis for further research with a wider scope.

This community service activity aims to enhance the creativity of UIN Palangka Raya students by producing functional herbal tea bags using cat's whiskers (Orthosiphon aristatus) and lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus). The activity was implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active student participation in all stages of the production process. Participants, third-semester students of the Biology Education Study Program, were introduced to the health benefits of both herbs and were encouraged to practice drying ingredients, weighing formulations, and packaging the products. The results of the activity indicated that students gained a comprehensive understanding of the bioactive compounds in cat's whiskers and lemongrass, proper processing techniques to maintain ingredient quality, and the ideal formulation for making herbal tea bags. Students were also able to produce safe, hygienic, and functional tea bags. This activity has proven effective in enhancing students' knowledge, skills, creativity, and ability to develop innovative products based on local natural ingredients.

Moringa (Moringa Oleifera) is a plant that is easily found in the surrounding environment and grows in Java, Sunda, Bali, Lampung, Madura, Sulawesi and Flores. In Flores, especially in Sikka Regency, moringa is a plant that is being cultivated. Moringa leaves also contain phytochemicals such as tannins, steroids, triterpenoids, flavonoids, saponins and alkaloids. These compounds have the ability as antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, detoxification and antibacterial drugs. One product that can be developed from moringa leaves is moringa tea. Moringa leaves can be used as a basic ingredient in making tea. In making tea, a drying process is carried out which aims to reduce the water content in the raw materials. This study aims to determine the nutritional content of moringa tea from several places in Sikka Regency so that it can help in the use of moringa as tea. This study was conducted in 3 locations for sampling moringa leaves, namely Talibura District, Alok Timur District and Paga District. The study used descriptive methods and laboratory tests on moringa tea. The results of the study were then compared with the quality parameters of tea according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for tea. The output of the study is a national publication so that the community, especially in Sikka Regency, can use moringa leaves as a drink. The test was carried out at the Food Quality and Safety Laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Brawijaya University, Malang. The results of the study showed differences in the nutritional content of moringa tea from the three locations. The highest protein content was in Paga District with a value of 25.86%, the highest fat content was in Talibura District with a value of 4.43%, water content was in Alok Timur District with a value of 8.42%, ash content in Paga District with a value of 8.20% and carbohydrate content in Alok Timur District with a value of 57.08%.

Lidah mertua is an ornamental plant that has a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. The Lidah mertua plant produces fine fibers on its leaves. The author uses Lidah mertua fiber to make hair extensions. The aim of this research is to determine the process of making hair extensions from plant material from Lidah mertua fiber (Sansevieria Trifasciata), the suitability of the product, and the level of public preference for hair extension products from Lidah mertua fiber (Sansevieria Trifasciata). Data collection uses Observation, Documentation, Experimentation, Literature, Questionnaire and Interview methods. Data Analysis in the form of Quantitative and Public Testing. Making hair extensions from Lidah mertua (Sansevieria Trifasciata) fibers begins with selecting Lidah mertua, shaving to produce fiber, washing and drying, coloring stage, and applying hair serum. The results of the feasibility test from 3 validators were declared feasible in experiment I, namely hair extensions from Lidah mertua (Sansevieria Trifasciata) fibers using clothing dye. he liking level of 60 respondents was stated to be appropriate and liked by the public. Hair extension products using Lidah mertua (Sansevieria Trifasciata) fibers require further trials so that they can be used in the long term and create more varied hair extension colors.

Dry packing with the principle of hibernation aims to suppress the metabolic processes of an organism so that it can survive under minimal environmental conditions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the dry packing method on the survival of freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarrinatus) tested with dry packing for 15, 20, and 25 hours. Before packing, the crayfish were ensured to be healthy and free from deformities. The packing was carried out using styrofoam lined with cardboard and filled with dried banana leaves, with a density of 20 crayfish of 10 cm size per package. The results showed that packing with dried banana leaves for 25 hours resulted in a 100% survival rate after packing, and the crayfish were able to become active again after 3 days. The dry packing method using dried banana leaves was proven effective in maintaining the survival of freshwater crayfish under live conditions during long packing durations. This study contributes to the development of efficient packing techniques for transporting freshwater crayfish alive.

This study aims to determine the effect of cow manure and liquid organic fertilizer eco farming on the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research method uses a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is cow manure (P) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: P0 = Control (Without Compost), P1 = 0.5 kg/plot (5 tons/ha), P2 = 1.0 kg/plot (10 tons/ha) and P3 = 1.5 kg/plot (15 tons/ha). The second factor: Eco Farming consists of 3 treatment levels: C1 = 150 ml/plot, C2 = 250 ml/plot, and C3 = 350 ml/plot. The study's results showed that the provision of cow manure significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, wet weight of tubers per sample, and wet weight of tubers per plot. Providing eco farming impacts plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of tubers per sample, and wet weight of tubers per plot. The interaction between cow manure and eco farming had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of tubers per sample, and wet weight of tubers per plot.

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder caused by the pancreas failing to produce insulin hormone adequately. Based on the cause, diabetes mellitus is classified into three types, including type 1 DM, type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and gestational diabetes mellitus. Hyperglycemia can also occur due to food consumed that is not balanced with physical activity carried out so that fat accumulates in the body and causes blood to be unable to enter the body's cells, ultimately increasing blood sugar levels. Signs and symptoms that often appear in Diabetes Mellitus patients are polydipsia (excessive thirst), polyuria (frequent urination due to excessive urine production), polyphagia (quickly feeling hungry even though you eat a lot and want to eat continuously) and weight loss without a clear cause. Symptoms of diabetes mellitus can be controlled by increasing physical activity, following a healthy diet, and getting enough rest. Several studies have proven that bay leaves have the potential as an antidiabetic. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolic compounds and the antidiabetic activity of bay leaf extract using α-amylase enzyme inhibition in vitro. This research method uses laboratory experiments. This study uses α-amylase enzyme inhibition to determine the antidiabetic activity contained in bay leaf extract. The method used is DNSA. The results of this study obtained a yield of bay leaf extract of 30%, water content of simplicia of 6.24%, drying loss of simplicia of 5.3%, ash content test of 5.6%, water content test of extract of 6.34%, drying loss test of extract of 7.03%. Bay leaf extract positively contains secondary metabolite compounds, namely saponins, tannins, flavonoids, and alkaloids. The results of IC50 in bay leaf extract of 66.705 ppm are classified as strong antidiabetic. The results of acarbose of 56.818 ppm are classified as strong antidiabetic.

Boyolali is known as a milk-producing city, which makes animal husbandry one of the biggest options for economic activity. Limited forage resources are one of the problems faced by breeders. This activity aims to provide fermentation training using dry leaves as an alternative animal feed. The method used is to collect dry leaves from local resources in Sumbung Village, followed by training on the fermentation process using probiotic bacteria, which has been proven to be effective in increasing the nutritional value of feed. Fermented dry leaves have an aroma and taste that livestock like, thereby increasing feed consumption. Utilizing fermented dried leaves as animal feed can be a sustainable solution for overcoming limited food sources in Sumbung Village. Apart from providing a higher-quality alternative feed, this research can also support efforts to manage dry leaf waste and encourage environmental sustainability.

This study aims to analyze various sustainable food processing innovations that contribute to improving public health in Indonesia. The research was conducted through a literature review of 13 scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025 that discussed aspects of nutritional innovation, environmentally friendly processing technology, social empowerment, and food waste management. The analysis results indicate that the use of local food ingredients such as moringa leaves, snakehead fish, and soybeans plays a significant role in improving nutritional literacy, preventing stunting, and strengthening family food security. Meanwhile, the application of appropriate technologies such as oil draining machines, energy-efficient dryers, and waste processing into organic fertilizer contributes to production efficiency and reduced environmental impact. Furthermore, social innovation through the empowerment of MSMEs and women's groups can strengthen the local economy and foster environmental awareness. Thus, the synergy between nutritional, technological, and social innovations forms the basis for developing a healthy and sustainable food system to support the achievement of SDGs 2 and 3 in Indonesia.

This community service activity was carried out in Dahu Village, Pandeglang Regency, with the main objective of introducing and implementing biopore infiltration hole technology as a simple and environmentally friendly solution to address waterlogging and organic waste management. Biopores are small-diameter vertical holes dug into the ground and then filled with organic waste, such as dry leaves, vegetable scraps, or food scraps. This organic waste will naturally decompose through a decomposition process, producing compost that is useful for fertilizing the soil. Furthermore, the presence of biopore holes can improve the groundwater absorption capacity, thereby reducing the risk of waterlogging and minor flooding around residential areas. During the implementation, we as students not only provided theoretical explanations through socialization sessions but also actively participated directly in the field. Together with residents, we practiced making biopore holes, starting from the stages of preparing tools and materials, the process of drilling the soil, and filling the holes with organic waste. This practical activity was designed to help the community understand the steps for making biopores independently and utilizing them sustainably. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding and awareness of the importance of easy, affordable, and beneficial waste management. The community is beginning to realize that waste processing does not always require large costs or complicated technology. Biopore holes have been proven effective in accelerating rainwater absorption, reducing household waste volume, and improving soil fertility. Beyond the environmental impact, this activity also strengthens relationships between students and villagers through the collaboration established during the biopore construction process. Thus, this program is expected to be the first step towards a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable village.

Inovasi Kesehatan Global 2025 Lembaga Pengembangan Kinerja Dosen

This study aims to extract and purify secondary metabolite compounds from Coffea arabica leaves using various separation techniques, such as maceration, column chromatography, thin layer chromatography (KLT), and preparatory KLT, and followed by flavonoid content analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The process begins with drying the arabica coffee leaves, then extraction is carried out using 96% ethanol for three days. After that, the solvent is evaporated with a rotary evaporator at 60°C to obtain a viscous extract. The extracts were further separated using column chromatography with a mixed solvent of n-hexane: ethyl acetate (3:1), resulting in 12 fractions that showed color differences, which was an indication of the diversity of the compounds in the extract. Advanced identification was carried out with KLT using methanol solvents: chloroform (9:1) at UV wavelengths of 254 nm and 366 nm, indicating the presence of compounds with medium to high polarity. Furthermore, the isolated compounds were further separated using the preparative KLT (KLTP) method. To determine the flavonoid content, UV-Vis spectrophotometry was performed at a wavelength of 431 nm, using quercetin as standard. The results of the analysis showed that Arabica coffee leaf extract had a yield of 7.35% and a total flavonoid content of 19.0605 mgQE/g. These findings show that arabica coffee leaves are a source of flavonoid compounds that have the potential for the development of herbal or phytopharmaceutical products. The flavonoid content found may provide health benefits, particularly in increasing antioxidant activity, which can be used in the treatment of oxidative stress-related diseases. The results of this study also open up opportunities for the development of plant-based products, especially Arabica coffee, in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries as an efficacious natural active ingredient.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of substituting cassava leaves (Manihot esculenta Crantz) into a complete feed based on odot grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) on in vitro rumen fermentation characteristics, including gas production, dry matter degradation (DMD), organic matter degradation (OMD), ammonia (NH₃) concentration, and microbial protein synthesis. A laboratory experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five dietary treatments (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% cassava leaf inclusion) with four replications each. The feed samples were incubated for 48 hours using rumen fluid collected from slaughtered Limousin cattle, selected purposively from the Ruminant Abattoir in Malang City based on consistent diet and health status to minimize variability. Feed ingredients were sun-dried, ground, and mixed into complete feed formulations using standardized proportions. In vitro gas production was measured using a gas-tight syringe technique, while DMD and OMD were calculated by weighing residues after fermentation. NH₃ concentrations were analyzed using the Conway microdiffusion method, and microbial protein synthesis was estimated based on the weight of microbial biomass derived from fermentation residues. All variables were statistically analyzed using ANOVA followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that a 20% substitution of cassava leaves significantly (P<0.01) improved the gas production rate, DMD, OMD, NH₃ concentration, and microbial protein synthesis, while decreasing gas production potential. These findings demonstrate the potential of cassava leaves as a sustainable protein-rich ingredient in ruminant complete feed formulations.

This study focuses on the production of herbal tea made from avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill.) and explores its potential as a health-promoting beverage. Avocado leaves are known to contain various bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, tannins, and saponins, which have antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antihypertensive properties. The production process involves selecting healthy leaves, washing, drying using a low-temperature oven (50–60°C), and grinding the dried leaves into powder. The final tea product was tested organoleptically to assess its taste, aroma, and color, and phytochemically to confirm the presence of bioactive compounds. The organoleptic test results showed that the tea has an acceptable flavor and aroma, while phytochemical tests confirmed the presence of beneficial compounds. Consumption of avocado leaf tea demonstrates potential as a functional beverage that may contribute to lowering blood pressure and blood sugar levels, as well as providing a calming effect. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of value-added herbal products derived from local raw materials. Such products could support efforts to improve public health and encourage the diversification of functional beverages within the community, providing both health and economic benefits for local populations.

In the Pancasila Student Profile, creativity is defined as a student's ability to modify and create something that is original, meaningful, useful and has a positive impact. In developing student creativity, PKM was held to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students using ecoprint media based on the pounding technique. Dyeing using the ecoprint method based on the pounding technique is an environmentally friendly method, which uses natural ingredients to create patterns on the fabric. Ecoprint based on the pounding technique is a method of dyeing fabric that uses leaves, flowers and other parts of plants that are transferred to the surface of the fabric through a beating process. The aim of this community service is to develop student creativity, because creativity is one of the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile. The production process involves selecting tote bag materials from natural fabrics, such as calico, which are more effective in absorbing colors from plant materials. After that, fresh leaves and flowers are placed on the cloth, then beating and drying techniques are carried out to transfer the natural patterns of the plants to the surface of the cloth. In this study, various types of leaves were tested to determine the variation in pattern and color resistance produced. In Indonesia, dry noodles are one of the most widely consumed foods because they are easy to cook. The use of banana flour as a substitute for making noodles is an effort to diversify food in reducing imports of wheat flour. This study dried noodles were made from katuk leaf extract and from the substitution of banana kepok flour with wheat flour. The chemical and organoleptic properties of noodles added with banana kepok flour and katuk leaf extract as natural dyes are the focus of this study. A two-factor factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) was used in this study, specifically the ratio of wheat flour to cocoon banana flour (5:95, 10:90, 15:85 g) and the concentration of katuk leaf extract (10/100, 20/100, 30/100 ml). The results showed that katuk leaf dried noodles the ratio of cocoon banana flour and wheat flour 5:95 with katuk leaf extract 30g/100ml contain an ash content of 3.43%; protein content of 14.72%; crude fiber of 11.11%; antioxidant activity of 17.32%; reduced sugar content of 0.24%. The organoleptic test results of dry noodles of katuk leaves compared to banana kepok flour and wheat flour 5:95 with katuk leaf extract 30g/100ml resulted in a stable green color with a score of 2.95 (quite like), aroma 2.52 (strong enough), taste 2.10 (quite like), and overall liking 2.99 (quite like). The highest antioxidant activity parameter was obtained with a ratio of banana kepok flour and wheat flour 15:85 with katuk leaf extract 30g/100ml with a yield of 23.07%. The noodles that the panelists liked the most were the ratio of banana kepok flour and wheat flour 5:95 with katuk leaf extract 30g / 100ml with a result of 2.99 (quite like). Dried noodles made from katuk leaves and banana kepok have high enough antioxidant activity so that they can become nutritious foods that also have beneficial values for body health.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the development and productivity of Odot grass in the presence of fermented cow dung. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) non-factorial research method consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. An experiment was conducted using the parameters of odot grass plant height, number of odot grass leaves, fresh forage production, and dry forage production to ascertain the impact of feeding fermented cow feces on the growth of odot grass (Pennisetrum purpureum Cv.Mott) in order to yield the best results. When odot plants are treated according to the level of need, the best treatment is the provision of fermented cow feces fertilizer. This has a significant impact on the growth and productivity of odot grass, allowing it to produce maximum results in terms of plant height, number of leaves, fresh forage, and dry weight. 200 grams, one odot grass cutting, 100 milliliters of water, and a polybag with a 1:10:50 fermentation ratio.
