This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the soil at PIT North with two highwall and lowwall locations at PT Karya Putra Borneo, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The research method was carried out by collecting primary data from the results of field tests using the sondir method with the Cone Penetration Test(CPT) tool and laboratory tests using physical properties, specific gravity, grain size, soil consistency, and consolidation tests, as well as secondary data from the results of literature studies. The parameters analyzed for soil characteristics include the sondir cone resistance (qc) value, grain size fraction distribution, soil plasticity index, and the rate of land subsidence through consolidation. The results showed that at PIT North the highwall area had a qc value of 5.6 Mpa, Fr 0.2%, IP 8.06%, Cc 1, a large rate of land subsidence of 3.3 mm with a settlement period of 4 years. In the lowwall area with a qc value of 10.31 Mpa, Fr 0.16%, IP 6.39%, Cc 0.535, the rate of settlement was 4.4 mm with a settlement period of 3 years. From these results, it is concluded that the soil at the highwall and lowwall locations has different compressibility, seeing the different soil Cc values and the soil plasticity index that affect the compressibility level of the soil and the value of the land settlement rate.

The foundation of turbine machines in industrial buildings must be able to withstand static and dynamic loads caused by operational vibrations. Generally, reinforced concrete block foundations are used due to their good stability. However, under certain conditions such as limited land, decreased soil bearing capacity, and the need for structural rehabilitation, their application becomes less effective. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the use of Micropile foundations as an alternative for turbine machine foundations at Candi Baru Sugar Factory, Sidoarjo. The research method includes literature studies, soil data collection through Cone Penetration Test (CPT), machine technical data analysis, and the design and analysis of Micropile foundations. The analysis covers bearing capacity, settlement, dynamic response, pile cap design, and cost estimation. The results indicate that Micropiles with a diameter of 0.20 m, a length of 2 m, five piles, and a pile cap size of 2 m × 2 m × 4.5 m are able to safely and stably support the machine load. In addition, this system is considered more efficient in terms of construction time and implementation. Therefore, Micropile foundations are recommended as an effective and economical alternative for turbine machine foundations.

Mining roads play an important role in supporting the smooth running of mining activities, especially in the process of transporting materials. The bearing capacity of the soil as a road subgrade greatly affects the stability and resistance of the road to heavy equipment loads. This study aims to analyze the effect of the plasticity index and compaction parameters on the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value, as well as to determine the thickness of the road layer based on the laboratory CBR value. Testing was carried out at the South Pit of PT. Bina Sarana Sukses site PT. Baramulti Suksessarana with a field test method using the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) and laboratory tests such as proctor tests, Atterberg limit tests, and CBR tests on various variations of clay and sand soil mixtures. The results showed that increasing the plasticity index decreased the CBR value, while increasing the maximum dry density and decreasing the optimum water content increased the CBR value. Based on the laboratory CBR value, recommendations were obtained for the appropriate road layer thickness to ensure optimal bearing capacity for heavy equipment passing through the research area.

Sludge is a by-product of an activity that comes from the discharge outlet of the flocculation, sedimentation and backwash filtration basins. To determine the volume of sludge contained in one liter of raw water, it is necessary to conduct a Jartest Test by determining the optimum dose of PAC. This water sampling was carried out at the Krian 1 Water Treatment Plant (IPA). Primary data collection is obtained from Imhoff Cone Results data. While for secondary data collection we get from Jartest data.  The manufacture of the coagulant solution used is Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC). The average turbidity value in February was around 123 NTU and there was an increase in turbidity on the seventh day which reached 237 NTU. The drastic increase in turbidity reached 455 NTU with an average turbidity in March of 130 NTU. The graph shows that there is a significant correlation between the volume of sludge produced during the treatment process and the level of water turbidity. Thus, the researcher suggests further treatment of the remaining sludge which can be done by making a Sludge Drying Bed (SDB).

The number of incidents occurring on the island of Sumatra, especially West Sumatera and Jambi provinces that affect the vibration of the earthquake in Rengat City on a large scale can lead to the movement of land such as landslides and stagnant ground water sources can lead to liquefaction. The purpose of this research is to know how the arrangement of soil type at research location Rengat City and to know the location reviewed in Rengat City, and its surrounding experience potential liquefaction based on some existing penetration test data. This research was conducted to predict liquefaction potential that occurred in Rengat City of Indragiri Hulu Regency with secondary data of penetration test of konus with Seed and Idriss method (1971). The calculation of potential liquefaction prediction is done by determining the number of soil layers, estimating the weight of the soil volume, determining the soil overburden, determining the effective soil stress, determining the corrected confront resistance, calculating Cyclic Strees Ratio (CSR), calculating Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR). After calculating the value of Magnitude Scalling Factor (MSF) and calculating the value of safe factor by comparing the value of Cyclic Strees Ratio (CSR) with Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR) if the calculation <1 factor is safe then potentially liquefaction occurs. Based on the results of the analysis of the 7 locations with a total of 2 cone penetration test conus analyzed in this study in Rengat City, obtained the type of soil structure is not uniform and based on the results of analysis, from the 7 research sites with tottal 21 point penetration test konus reviewed at magnitude 5 to 10 in Rengat City Indragiri Hulu Regency. In the type of sand soil in the dominant study area can not be achieved liquefaction, this is reinforced from the calculation (SF)> 1 safe factor (SF: 1.0).

Foundations are structural elements that play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of buildings; therefore, understanding soil characteristics and stratification is a critical stage in geotechnical design. This study aims to analyze soil characteristics and stratification using Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data as a basis for determining safe and efficient foundation depth. The research method employed a quantitative–descriptive approach utilizing CPT test data obtained from two test points at the research site in Blitar City, East Java. The analyzed parameters include cone resistance (qc), sleeve friction (fs), and friction ratio (Rf), which were recorded continuously with depth in accordance with ASTM D3441-86. The results indicate that the shallow soil layer up to a depth of approximately 2.0 m is dominated by fine-grained soils with low qc values and high Rf values, making it unsuitable as a foundation bearing layer. The soil layer with the most favorable mechanical characteristics was identified at a depth of approximately 5.5–6.0 m, characterized by high and relatively stable qc values and low Rf values, indicating dense coarse-grained soil. Variations in the depth of hard soil layers between test points suggest lateral variability in subsurface conditions. These findings confirm that CPT data are effective for identifying soil stratification and providing preliminary recommendations for foundation depth in geotechnical planning.
