Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem characterized by a child’s height being inappropriate for their age, particularly among children under five years old. One of the interventions implemented to prevent stunting is immunization. However, immunization coverage, especially complete basic immunization, has not yet reached the target, including in Medan City. Therefore, this literature study aims to explore the determinants of complete basic immunization coverage in Medan City using the Google Scholar database. The literature search identified nine articles that were extracted and discussed in this study. The determinants of complete basic immunization coverage include individual maternal factors such as age, education level, knowledge, attitudes, and mothers’ beliefs or perceptions toward immunization; social support factors including family support, economic conditions, and prevailing norms and cultural practices within families and communities; as well as health service factors. Comprehensive and integrated interventions are urgently needed to achieve optimal complete basic immunization coverage in Medan City.

Basic immunization helps to prevent infectious diseases in toddlers. It increases immunity and reduces morbidity and mortality. However, full basic immunization coverage is low in several areas, including the Darul Imarah Health Center, Aceh Besar. Family support is considered one of the influencing factors. This support can be emotional, informational, instrumental, or appraisal. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and the completeness of basic vaccinations for toddlers in the service area of the Darul Imarah Community Health Center in Aceh Besar. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design. Using a probability random sampling method, the sample size was 90 respondents out of 817 respondents in the population. The research was conducted from May 5th to 24th, 2025. The study used both bivariate and univariate analyses. The data collection was analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a relationship between family support and toddler immunization completion, with a P-value of 0.003 (p<0.05). The conclusion indicates a relationship between family support and immunization completion. Therefore, this research provides insight for the family's role in improving basic immunization coverage for toddlers. The findings may help the Darul Imarah Health Center and healthcare workers design strategies for socialization and family support to reach complete immunization targets.

Complete basic immunization for infants is an important effort in preventing infectious diseases and improving public health. However, certain regions still have subpar vaccination rates, which may be due to parents' ignorance and attitudes. Children who do not receive all recommended vaccinations are more vulnerable to illness and, worse, may die from it. This study was conducted at the Jikohay Community Health Center in the West Obi District to examine the impact IEC on mothers' attitudes and knowledge on the provision of full basic immunizations for newborns. Maternal and child health books (KIA) and a questionnaire approach were used in this qualitative study. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how IEC affects mothers' knowledge and attitudes on giving their babies the recommended basic vaccinations at the Jikohay Health Center in the West Obi District. There were 60 individuals in the population and 40 responders in the sample. Purposive sampling was used for the sample process. The Wilcoxon test was utilized for data analysis. According to the study's findings, 20 respondents had good attitudes, 20 had sufficient attitudes, and 29 had good knowledge, 10 had sufficient knowledge, and 1 had insufficient knowledge after receiving counseling on parental attitudes and knowledge in providing full basic immunizations to infants. At the Jikohay Health Center in the West Obi District, the results of the statistical test with a p-value of 0.000 indicated that IEC had an impact on mothers' attitudes and knowledge toward giving their infants all of the recommended basic vaccinations.

The coverage of complete basic immunization (CBI) in Indonesia has experienced a significant decline, dropping from 93.7% in 2019 to 84.5% in 2021. Aceh Province was recorded as one of the lowest regions nationwide, achieving only 39.4% and ranking among the bottom three provinces. Low public awareness and knowledge, particularly in rural areas, have become the main factors contributing to the low participation in immunization programs. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of door-to-door education in improving the knowledge and awareness of mothers with toddlers and its impact on immunization participation in Mukhan Village, Indrajaya Subdistrict, Aceh Jaya District. The research applied a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test design and no control group, involving 25 mothers of toddlers who were directly visited through a one-month door-to-door program. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and by recording the immunization status of the toddlers. The findings revealed that before the intervention, only 36% of toddlers had received complete basic immunization, while 64% had incomplete immunization. After the educational intervention, there was a positive shift in attitudes among several mothers who had previously doubted or refused immunization, including one mother who later agreed to participate in catch-up immunization. Door-to-door education proved effective in enhancing knowledge and awareness, as it enabled direct communication that clarified myths and addressed concerns about immunization. Although overall immunization coverage remains low, the observed positive change in attitudes highlights the potential for increased participation through continuous efforts, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and the active involvement of health cadres and local community leaders.

Malnutrition is a condition in which the body does not receive enough essential nutrients, such as protein, vitamins, calories, and minerals, which causes various health problems, especially wasting and stunting, making it a serious concern in children. According to the Basic Health Research, the prevalence of malnourished children in Indonesia remained stable at 17.8% between 2016 and 2017 but decreased to 13.8% in 2018. This case study focuses on a 23-month-old girl from Kuala Keureuto Village, who was observed for three weeks through home visits in 2025. The diagnosis of malnutrition was made in accordance with national guidelines outlined in the Indonesian Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2020, regarding child anthropometric standards. Anthropometric measurements showed that the child's height was 78.3 cm and her weight was 8.8 kg. Based on these measurements, her nutritional status was assessed as follows: A height/age Z-score between -2 and -3 SD indicates stunting, a weight/age Z-score between -2 and -3 SD indicates underweight, while a weight/age Z-score below -2 SD and a BMI/age Z-score below -2 SD are considered well-nourished. After confirming the diagnosis, the patient received nutrition education, supplemental feeding, appetite-stimulating supplements, and growth monitoring. In addition, analyses were conducted to identify factors influencing her condition, concluding that the malnutrition observed in this 23-month-old patient was influenced by parenting behavior, parental knowledge, medical history, incomplete immunizations, and environmental factors.

Basic immunization is one of the main pillars in the effort to control infectious diseases, which is important for the health of children from an early age. In order to achieve optimal health, immunization helps prevent diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, and measles that can cause serious complications or even death. The immunization program implemented at Posyandu Terkini 1 in Mario Village has a positive impact on public health, with an immunization coverage rate showing 97.90% in the South Sulawesi region. This study focuses on factors that influence the utilization of basic immunization at Posyandu Terkini 1 in Mario Village. In a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach, researchers involved the entire population consisting of 89 infants and toddlers in Mario Village through a total sampling method. Using the Chi Square test, this study identified factors related to the utilization of immunization services, namely maternal knowledge, maternal attitudes, family support, and support from health workers. The results showed that these factors significantly influenced the utilization of basic immunization, while access to immunization services did not show a significant relationship. This research makes an important contribution to the development of public health policies, particularly in increasing community participation in immunization programs. With a more integrated approach, particularly in educating the community about the benefits of immunization and the importance of support from families and health workers, it is hoped that immunization coverage in villages will be broader and more equitable. These findings will be published in the Jurnal Kesehatan (Health Journal) to provide further insights for relevant stakeholders in improving the quality of immunization services. Furthermore, this study also emphasizes the importance of the active role of health workers in educating parents, especially mothers, about the benefits of immunization and the vaccine schedule.

The high mortality and morbidity rates of infants in Indonesia remain a serious public health problem. One of the main causes of this condition is the emergence of infectious diseases that can actually be prevented through basic immunization. Diseases such as diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, measles, and hepatitis B are types of diseases that can be prevented by immunization, yet many children still have not received complete immunizations. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge levels and the completeness of basic immunization status of children aged 12–24 months in RW 13 Kp. Sapan, Sumbersari Village. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and was conducted in August 2024. A total of 39 mothers with children aged 12–24 months became the study respondents through a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire, and the data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of mothers had a sufficient level of knowledge, namely 21 mothers (53.8%). In addition, the majority of toddlers, 28 children (71.85%), had received complete basic immunizations. The results of statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and the completeness of children's basic immunizations with a p value of 0.006 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the mother's knowledge regarding the importance of immunization, the greater the likelihood of the child receiving complete basic immunizations. Therefore, it is important for mothers to continue to increase their knowledge about immunizations through various sources of information such as books, counseling, or consultations with health workers, so that efforts to prevent infectious diseases in children can be optimally achieved.

The coverage of complete basic immunization remains a serious public health concern, particularly in rural areas such as Suka Raya Village, Pancur Batu Subdistrict, where only 26.2% of infants have received full basic immunizations. Low maternal knowledge and negative attitudes are among the primary barriers contributing to this issue. This community service activity was designed to increase the knowledge and attitudes of mothers regarding the importance of complete basic immunization through structured health education. The activity involved 42 mothers with infants aged 9–12 months and was conducted in July 2025 at the Suka Raya Village Hall. The method consisted of interactive lectures, distribution of educational leaflets, and direct discussions facilitated by health educators. Pre- and post-intervention questionnaires were used to assess changes in knowledge and attitudes. The results showed a significant improvement: mothers with good knowledge increased from 47.6% to 85.7%, and those with positive attitudes increased from 42.9% to 83.3%. The findings support that community-based health education interventions can effectively enhance maternal understanding and behavioral intentions toward completing their children's immunization schedules. It is recommended that similar educational activities be regularly implemented and supported by local health institutions and cadres. This initiative demonstrates the importance of empowering mothers at the grassroots level to improve child health outcomes.

Immunization is one of the most important health activities necessary for improving children's health, helping prevent various infectious diseases. Despite its crucial role, many children still miss out on receiving complete basic immunization, a concerning public health issue. Among the various factors influencing the successful implementation of immunization programs, the support of family members, particularly husbands, plays a critical role. This study aims to explore the relationship between the support provided by husbands and the basic immunization status of children. A quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach was employed in this study. The sample consisted of 40 respondents, selected through purposive sampling. The study used the Chi-Square test for data analysis to determine any significant associations between the variables. The results indicate a significant relationship between husband support and the basic immunization status, with a p-value of 0.02. The findings suggest that social support, especially from husbands, is essential in encouraging mothers to ensure their children receive complete immunization. The support not only involves emotional and informational backing but also practical assistance, such as accompanying the mother to health facilities or assisting in scheduling appointments. By involving husbands in the immunization process, mothers may experience less stress and greater encouragement, leading to higher rates of immunization compliance. These results emphasize the importance of engaging family members, particularly husbands, in health initiatives aimed at improving child health outcomes. Public health programs should consider strategies to enhance family involvement, particularly targeting husbands, to achieve better immunization rates and, consequently, improved public health among children

Complete basic immunization, including DPT-HB 1,2,3, plays a vital role in reducing infant morbidity and mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases. However, immunization coverage remains suboptimal, partly influenced by maternal knowledge and attitudes. This study aims to determine the relationship between mothers’ knowledge and attitudes and the provision of DPT-HB 1,2,3 immunization at Mersip Public Health Center in 2023. This quantitative research used a descriptive analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The study involved 134 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Bivariate analysis using the chi-square test showed a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge (p = 0.000) and attitudes (p = 0.008) with the administration of DPT-HB 1,2,3 immunization. The study concludes that better maternal knowledge and positive attitudes are associated with a higher likelihood of complete DPT-HB 1,2,3 immunization for their babies. These findings highlight the need for enhanced health promotion by healthcare providers targeting mothers in the Mersip area.

This research was carried out at the Multipurpose Health Center, Sako District, Palembang City. The purpose of this study is to find out the health services provided to Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) patients at the multivehicle health center and to find out what factors are obstacles in providing maximum service to Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) patients at the health center. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include primary data collection in the form of interviews and field observations, as well as secondary data collection in the form of documentation and literature studies. The determination of informants in this study uses the purposive sampling technique. The result of the analysis of this study is Health Services for KIS Patients at the Multiwahana Health Center, Sako District, Palembang City based on PERMENKES Number 04 Article (3) of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards (SPM). Health is assessed from the number of quality goods/services, quantity and quality of infrastructure. Health human resources and procedures for meeting standards are running well, this can be seen from the free services provided to KIS participants, namely KIS participants get basic health services at the Puskesmas free of charge, including examinations, treatments, immunizations and maternal and child health services. The provision of medicines at the Puskesmas ensures the availability of essential medicines needed by KIS participants. However, the flow of procedures and services at the multipurpose health center is quite clear, simple, not convoluted, and the officers are friendly. Then, the inhibiting factor in providing services to KIS patients is that there are still many people or patients who are not interested in the Healthy Indonesia Card program.

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers caused by a lack of nutritional intake for a long time so that the child becomes too short for his age. Based on the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Standards Survey (SSGI) in 2022 in Riau province, it reached 17.0%. The prevalence rate of stunting in Pekanbaru reached around 16.8% in 2022. According to the Health Office in 2022, Lima Puluh Health Center recorded the highest prevalence of stunting at 4.47% or 60 cases. One of the risk factors that contributes to stunting is the low coverage of complete basic immunization, which can prevent infectious diseases that can interfere with children's growth and development. However, the lack of public knowledge and awareness of the importance of complete basic immunization increases the risk of infection. The long-term impacts of stunting include cognitive impairment, developmental delays, and low productivity in the future. Knowing the relationship between the completeness of basic immunization and the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-36 months in the Lima Puluh Health Center work area, Pekanbaru City. to determine the relationship between the completeness of basic immunization and the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-36 months in the Lima Puluh Health Center work area, Pekanbaru City. From the results of data analysis, a relationship has been found between the completeness of immunization and the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-36 months in the Lima Puluh Health Center work area (p-value = 0.03; OR of 11.66; (95% CI = 1.22-110.95). Completeness of basic immunization is related and is a risk factor for stunting in toddlers aged 24-36 months in the Limapuluh Health Center work area.
