Efforts to improve the management of the RW 05 Waste Bank in Kreo sub-district are carried out through community service activities. One form of waste management in society is by utilizing waste banks. This waste bank collects household waste, sorts it, and resells it to other parties. Through the use of waste banks, waste can be processed into something that has economic value. In its management, waste banks use principles similar to the banking system, but on a smaller scale and are easier to run. Residents who live around the waste bank send their waste and their balance is recorded based on the economic value of the waste. The RW 05 waste bank management environment still faces a number of obstacles in its implementation. To improve waste bank management, this service program is carried out with various activities that provide economic value to residents. Plastic or non-organic waste will be the raw material for the Paving Blok Prima Lestari Bumi Group. Paving Block Prima Lestari Bumi Group will process plastic waste into paving blocks. However, there are several problems faced. The problem faced by Prima Lestari partner Bumi Paving Blok, such as the lack of supply of raw materials for plastic waste, lack of operational equipment, which causes the production of paving blocks cannot maximize. The level of sales still cannot meet the target per month. Current marketing aspects are carried out by word of mouth and take part in exhibitions carried out by the local government or using social media. For Maju Jaya Garbage Bank, the problem is a large amount of operational costs to sort waste based on the type of waste. This is inversely proportional to income from processed products that are less than optimal. Some of the solutions offered to partners are several parts of training for the sale of goods, procurement of operational goods such as production machinery for paving blocks and machines that can sort waste by type to reduce operating costs.

Farming on peatland is a complex task due to the low soil fertility and acidic soil pH. Careful and sustainable management is crucial for peatland agriculture. To address soil acidity in peatland, natural phosphate fertilizers or lime compounds like agricultural lime or dolomite can be used. These help neutralize H+ and Al3+ ions in the soil. Eggshells have the potential as an alternative to lime (dolomite) to raise pH. Eggshells also contain about 0.3% phosphorus and microelements (magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, manganese, and copper) at 0.3%. The activity took place at the Teluk Latak Village Office Hall, Bengkalis Subdistrict, Bengkalis Regency, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The materials used in making eggshell lime fertilizer are eggshells and soil. The tools used in this practice include a blender, a spoon, and polybags. The women of the Teluk Latak Village PKK (Family Welfare Movement) responded positively to the socialization of the use of unproductive land and peat soil as a planting medium. They showed enthusiasm and actively participated in sustainable agriculture training. In conclusion, eggshells are an alternative choice as a readily available natural phosphate fertilizer from household waste. Sustainable management is essential for the success of peatland cultivation, along with the establishment of an eggshell waste bank to convert eggshells into natural phosphorus fertilizer that can help neutralize H+ and Al3+ ions in the soil.

Garbage has become a national problem and a very important issue in the environment. In essence, waste will not decrease or run out, in fact it will continue to increase along with the increase in population. In the waste collection system in both RTs, each household provides a sack or trash bag as a place for collecting plastic waste. Plastic waste that has been collected for 1-2 weeks will be exchanged with waste collectors who have collaborated at the waste bank post in each RT. It is hoped that the establishment of a waste bank can help reduce the amount of waste that is disposed of in landfills. Waste that can be recycled will be sorted and processed further.
