This community service activity was conducted by lecturers from STIM Sukma in October 2025 at Medan Tembung District. The aim was to enhance the awareness and understanding of construction workers regarding the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as a preventive measure against occupational accidents. Ten construction workers participated in the socialization activity, which included interactive lectures, group discussions, and simple demonstrations on the proper use of PPE. The results indicated a positive improvement in workers’ knowledge and awareness toward PPE use, although some limitations were observed regarding tool availability and habitual work behaviors. This activity highlights the significance of an educational and humanistic approach in cultivating a culture of safety within the informal construction sector. Through follow-up programs and regular mentoring, it is hoped that changes in worker behavior will develop more consistently. Furthermore, collaboration with local stakeholders is crucial to ensure the availability of PPE and the desire for a culture of workplace safety within the community.

Occupational safety and health training explains that increased knowledge and awareness of workers about potential workplace hazards can motivate them to comply with safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This research aims to analyze the effect of occupational safety and health training on the behavior of using PPE by workers in the construction industry. This research is driven by the high number of work accidents that happen in the construction industry sector in Indonesia, where many workers are still reluctant to use PPE. The method used is a comprehensive literature review, with analysis of various relevant sources including academic journals and research reports as well as 3 electronic databases, namely Google Scholar, PubMed, and GARUDA. The findings of the study showed that workers who participated in occupational safety and health training showed increased knowledge and awareness of potential hazards in the workplace. Despite this, compliance rates are still low, especially among younger and less experienced workers. There is still no clear research data on reducing the accident rate in workers after this occupational safety and health training. This research confirms the need for strict supervision in the field to create a safer and healthier work environment.

. The construction sector is a high-activity sector, making it prone to accident hazards. Therefore, safety analysis is useful for identifying and mitigating risk factors and potential causes of disruptions. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is one of the efforts to protect workers from the hazards of workplace accidents. The purpose of this occupational safety and health (OSH) study is to analyze the causes of workplace accidents and the impact of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at PT. Bagas Patih Pratama to enhance employee safety and reduce accident risks in the workplace. The data collection technique in this study involves questionnaires or interviews with workers to gather the necessary information. This study evaluates workers' attitudes towards health and safety conditions, knowledge of safety protocols, and the challenges faced during work. The survey results show that the majority of workers have a high level of awareness and understanding of workplace safety and the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). However, only a few workers consistently comply with established safety protocols. The study also highlights the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce hazards when working. It is recommended that the company enhance safety training programs and closely monitor the use of PPE to minimize workplace accident risks in the future.

Construction workers are often exposed to high risks of injury and illness due to potentially dangerous work environments. Therefore, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is very important to protect them from various threats on construction sites. Literature research conducted in recent years has provided consistent evidence regarding the benefits and importance of using PPE in the construction industry. Various types of PPE, such as safety helmets, safety shoes, protective eyewear, respirators, and gloves, have been shown to be effective in reducing the risk of physical injury and exposure to hazardous materials. Literature studies also show that implementing strict policies related to the use of PPE can reduce the rate of work accidents and work-related illnesses. In addition, proper training and awareness of the importance of occupational safety have been proven to increase worker compliance with the use of PPE. Factors such as adequate availability of PPE, strict standards, a strong safety culture, supervision, and ongoing education are key elements in ensuring effective use of PPE and improving occupational safety in construction workplaces. Therefore, continued emphasis on the correct and consistent use of PPE is a must in efforts to maintain the safety and health of construction workers throughout the world.
