The development and performance of high-strength, environmentally friendly, and renewable nunang fiber (Cordia dichotoma)-reinforced polyester composites continue to be refined to achieve optimal performance. This study characterizes the key properties of nunang fiber-reinforced polyester composites with carbon powder fillers. The polyester composites were fabricated using a hot-press method with a nunang fiber volume fraction of 20% (by weight) and varying carbon powder content from 0–10% (by weight). The results of the investigation show that the tensile and bending strengths of the composites increase with increasing carbon powder content up to 2.5%. However, adding carbon powder filler up to 10% to the polyester–nunang fiber composites reduces their tensile and bending strengths. A different trend is observed for the impact toughness of the composites, which increases up to a carbon powder content of 5% and decreases when the carbon powder content reaches 10%. This phenomenon is attributed to the ability to form an optimal fiber-matrix interface between the nunang fibers and the polyester–carbon powder matrix. SEM morphological observations confirmed fiber pull-out failure and matrix failure due to the high stiffness caused by the presence of the carbon powder filler.

Food safety of fresh fish is an important concern because fish is highly perishable and may be misused with hazardous preservatives such as formalin. This study aimed to determine formalin content and analyze the relationship between length and weight of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and formalin levels in traditional markets of Gorontalo City. The study was conducted from January to February 2026 in five traditional markets, namely TPI Tenda, Moodu, Potanga, Andalas, and Sentral. Nile tilapia samples were analyzed using a formaldehyde test kit, and formalin levels were expressed in ppm. Total length and fish weight were measured, and the relationship between physical size and formalin content was analyzed using Pearson correlation. The results showed that all Nile tilapia samples tested positive for formalin, with concentrations ranging from 0.11 to 0.23 ppm. The highest formalin levels were found in TPI Tenda and Moodu, each at 0.23 ppm, while the lowest level was found in Sentral at 0.11 ppm. Fish length ranged from 19.43 to 25.61 cm, while fish weight ranged from 0.17 to 1.78 g. The correlations between length and formalin content and between weight and formalin content were both very strongly negative, with r = -0.97. These findings indicate that smaller fish tended to contain higher formalin levels. Market supervision, trader education, and formalin-free fish handling practices should be strengthened to protect consumer health.

Edamame soybean plants are classified as a type of legume, growing upright and with dense leaves. Edamame soybeans can be consumed fresh or processed. One of the soils that can be planted with edamame is peat soil. However, peat soil still has obstacles such as acidic soil conditions and poor nitrogen (N) nutrients in the soil. Low nitrogen content in peat soil can be overcome by adding N fertilizer and photosynthetic bacteria. The use of photosynthetic bacteria in cultivating edamame soybeans can help increase nitrogen supply by fixing nitrogen (N) in the air. This research aims to determine the efficiency of applying a combination of nitrogen fertilizer and photosynthetic bacteria on the growth and yield of edamame soybeans in peat soil. This research was carried out in Pontianak City, with a research duration of approximately 3 months starting from 17 June - 29 August 2023. This research used a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely; n1= 25 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria, n2= 50 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria, n3= 75 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria, n4= 100 kg/ha N fertilizer + photosynthetic bacteria. The variables observed in this study consisted of plant height, number of productive branches, root volume, plant dry weight, number of root nodules, flowering age, number of pods and pod weight. Educator certificates are official documents that play a crucial role for teachers, as they serve as legal proof of professional competence and are required for various administrative purposes, such as professional allowance applications, promotion, transfer, and institutional accreditation. Along with the increasing number of educators in Indonesia, the volume of educator certificate data managed by educational institutions has also grown significantly. However, certificate management is still largely conducted in a conventional manner, functioning merely as digital or physical archives without an effective search mechanism, resulting in inefficiencies and difficulties in retrieving relevant documents. Therefore, an information retrieval approach is needed to support fast and accurate document searching. This study aims to analyze and implement an information retrieval system for educator certificates using the Cosine Similarity method. The research data consist of educator certificate documents, including professional educator certificates, training certificates, and competency certificates. The retrieval process involves text preprocessing, term weighting using TF-IDF, and similarity measurement using Cosine Similarity. The results show that document d1 (Professional Mathematics Educator Certificate) has the highest similarity value to the query “educator certificate,” as it contains all query terms with relatively high TF-IDF weights. Document d3 ranks second due to partial term similarity, while document d2 has the lowest similarity value because it shares only one common term with the query. These findings indicate that the Cosine Similarity method is effective in ranking educator certificate documents based on their content relevance in an objective and measurable manner. The proposed system can improve the efficiency and accuracy of educator certificate document management and retrieval in educational institutions.

Composite materials have the potential to be used as an alternative material for e-scooter frames due to their low weight and good mechanical strength. The mechanical properties of composite materials are strongly influenced by their constituent materials, particularly the fiber fraction. This study aims to analyze the effect of fiberglass composition variations on the tensile strength of composite materials as an alternative for e-scooter frames. The results show that increasing the fiberglass content leads to an improvement in the tensile strength of the composite material. The tensile strength increased by 51.52% when the fiberglass content was increased from 40% to 50%, while an increase of 19.5% was observed from 50% to 60%, indicating a decreasing rate of improvement. At higher fiberglass compositions, voids were observed due to imperfections in the manufacturing process, which affected the bonding between the fiber and the resin. In addition, increasing the fiberglass content resulted in a reduction in tensile strain from 1.1% at 40% fiberglass to 0.55% at 60% fiberglass, indicating that the material became stiffer and more brittle. These results indicate a trade-off between increased tensile strength and reduced ductility of the composite material.

Salinity stress is a major constraint in horticultural crop production, affecting plant growth, yield, and quality. Excessive salt accumulation in soil and irrigation water induces osmotic stress and ion toxicity, which disrupt physiological processes in plants. This literature review aims to analyze physiological responses and growth impacts of various horticultural crops under salinity stress. The reviewed studies include ten horticultural commodities: tomato, cayenne pepper, mungbean, leaf mustard, cucumber, red spinach, shallot, sambiloto, ginger, and moth orchid. The synthesis indicates that plant responses to salinity vary considerably among species and varieties. Mungbean is highly sensitive, showing growth and yield reductions at relatively low salinity levels. In contrast, cayenne pepper var. Dewata and red spinach are able to maintain growth under higher salinity conditions. Salinity effects are generally more pronounced during the reproductive stage, as reflected by reductions in yield components such as seed weight and fruit diameter, along with physiological disturbances including decreased chlorophyll content and increased oxidative stress. In medicinal plants such as sambiloto, mild salinity stress may enhance the accumulation of bioactive compounds despite suppressing vegetative growth. These findings highlight the importance of commodity-specific salinity management strategies that consider both physiological tolerance and cultivation objectives in horticultural production systems.

One of the various salted egg products with smoking methods is smoked salted eggs which have a distinctive aroma and taste. This study aims to determine the effect of smoking and storage time  and its  interaction on  smoked salted  eggs  with on  physical  and  chemical  properties, total microbes as well. This research is experimental by using ducks eggs and a mixture of coconut shells and fibers, and rice husks as smoke fuel. The experimental design used is Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with a 3x5 factorial pattern. As the first factor (P) is the smoking time which consists of P0= 0 hours, P1= 12 hours, P2= 15 hours while the second factor (H) is the storage time which consists of H0= 0 days, H1=7 days, H2= 14 days, H3= 21 days, and H4= 28 days. The variables observed were egg weight, albumen and yolk pH, moisture content, protein, and total microbial colony of smoked salted eggs. The results of the study were that the smoking time of 15 hours resulted in the lowest weight of smoked salted eggs (56.13g), while the storage time decreased the pH of albumen. Smoked salted duck eggs have a moisture content of 58.435-67.149%. The length of smoking increases the protein level. Salted duck eggs with a smoking time of 15 hours have the highest protein content, which is 15.39%. however, the duration of smoking and storage did not affect the total microbes of smoked salted eggs and there was no interaction between the duration of smoking and the duration of storage on the physical, chemical and total microbial properties.

This study aims to analyze the effect of using cassava (Manihot esculenta crantz) as a carbohydrate-based feed ingredient on body weight gain in beef cattle. The review was conducted using a descriptive literature study approach based on sixteen scientific articles discussing the nutritional composition, processing methods, and performance responses of beef cattle fed cassava-based diets. The analysis shows that cassava contains 17.45–88.6% dry matter, 2.4–21.45% crude protein, and 11.35–92.2% nitrogen-free extract, with variations influenced by plant part, processing method, and hydrocyanic acid (HCN) content. Processing techniques such as fermentation and ensiling can reduce HCN levels by more than 70% while increasing crude protein content up to 25%, thereby improving digestibility and feed efficiency. The inclusion of cassava in the form of flour, dried chips, pulp, or fermented peel consistently enhances dry matter intake and average daily gain (ADG) of beef cattle at inclusion levels of 20–50% in the diet. Overall, cassava has strong potential as a locally available, economical, and sustainable feed ingredient to improve beef cattle productivity.

Persistent elevation of blood glucose levels defines diabetes mellitus, a chronic metabolic disorder that occurs when insulin production is insufficient, diminished sensitivity of insulin receptors, or a combination of both factors. The medicinal properties of red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) are attributed to its rich content of bioactive compounds, including gingerol and shogaol, which are considered key contributors to its various therapeutic effects. The effectiveness of red ginger extract in lowering blood glucose levels in experimental mice was evaluated in this study. A true experimental design with a quantitative approach was applied, employing a pretest–posttest control group format. The study involved twelve samples, which were randomly allocated into four separate groups. The treatment phase was conducted over a period of seven days. Findings revealed mean values of 10.4 prior to the intervention and 15.2 afterward, indicating a notable increase. A significant difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment measurements in group K1 was revealed by the statistical analysis, which yielded a P-value of 0.001 (P < 0.05). It was observed that red ginger extract, given at 100 mg per kilogram of body weight, effectively reduced blood glucose levels in the mice studied..

Nata de corn is nata made from corn. Corn contains the element carbon which can fulfill the needs of Acetobacter xylinum in the formation of nata. This study used corn extract to replace coconut water and used natural nitrogen sources from mung bean sprout extract, soybean sprout extract and cowpea sprout extract. The aimed study to determine characteristics of nata  which the thickest and highest fiber. This study used factorial RAL, with 2 factors, namely factor 1 was the percentage of corn extract (10%; 20% and 30%) and factor 2 was the variation of nitrogen sources (mung bean sprout extract, soybean sprout extract and cowpea sprout extract). The purpose of this study was to determine the physicochemical characteristics of Nata de corn and determine the best formulation for Nata de corn. The results of the best treatment formulation in the manufacture of Nata de corn were 30% corn seed extract formulation with 7.5 ml soybean sprout extract, 2.05% crude fiber chemical characteristic test, 0.15% total sugar and 0.97% water content. The resulting nata de corn has organoleptic characteristics of a yellowish-white color with a value of 1.95; less elastic with an elasticity value of 2.06 and slightly springy with a value of 2.72. The results of physical observations with a thickness of 0.72 cm, a weight of 599.8 grams and a volume of 4 ml of fermented residual liquid. Nata de corn has the potential to be a source of food fiber.

The soil in Kedungdandang Hamlet, Muncar, has previously been identified as expansive clay that is highly sensitive to changes in moisture content and exhibits significant shrink–swell behavior, which leads to a reduction in bearing capacity and structural damage such as cracking in floors and walls, therefore, soil improvement through stabilization is required. This study aims to determine the effect of adding cement and rice husk ash (RHA) on the mechanical properties of expansive clay soil by using 3% cement and 6%, 8%, and 10% rice husk ash based on the weight of the soil. The results of the unconfined compressive strength (UCT) test indicate that the natural soil has a qu value of 28.62 kN/m², which increases to 55.08 kN/m² with the addition of 3% cement and 6% RHA, to 62.66 kN/m² with 3% cement and 8% RHA, and reaches the highest value of 86.98 kN/m² for the mixture containing 3% cement and 10% RHA. This increase in qu value indicates that the stabilization process improves the mechanical properties of the soil through a pozzolanic reaction, resulting in a more stable soil structure and a higher bearing capacity.

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder caused by the pancreas failing to produce insulin hormone adequately. Based on the cause, diabetes mellitus is classified into three types, including type 1 DM, type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and gestational diabetes mellitus. Hyperglycemia can also occur due to food consumed that is not balanced with physical activity carried out so that fat accumulates in the body and causes blood to be unable to enter the body's cells, ultimately increasing blood sugar levels. Signs and symptoms that often appear in Diabetes Mellitus patients are polydipsia (excessive thirst), polyuria (frequent urination due to excessive urine production), polyphagia (quickly feeling hungry even though you eat a lot and want to eat continuously) and weight loss without a clear cause. Symptoms of diabetes mellitus can be controlled by increasing physical activity, following a healthy diet, and getting enough rest. Several studies have proven that bay leaves have the potential as an antidiabetic. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolic compounds and the antidiabetic activity of bay leaf extract using α-amylase enzyme inhibition in vitro. This research method uses laboratory experiments. This study uses α-amylase enzyme inhibition to determine the antidiabetic activity contained in bay leaf extract. The method used is DNSA. The results of this study obtained a yield of bay leaf extract of 30%, water content of simplicia of 6.24%, drying loss of simplicia of 5.3%, ash content test of 5.6%, water content test of extract of 6.34%, drying loss test of extract of 7.03%. Bay leaf extract positively contains secondary metabolite compounds, namely saponins, tannins, flavonoids, and alkaloids. The results of IC50 in bay leaf extract of 66.705 ppm are classified as strong antidiabetic. The results of acarbose of 56.818 ppm are classified as strong antidiabetic.

Injection contraception is one of the most widely used family planning methods in Indonesia. However, its use is often associated with side effects in the form of weight gain. The commonly used types of injection contraception are the 1-month and 3-month injections, each containing different hormonal contents, which are suspected to have different effects on the weight of the acceptors. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of 1-month and 3-month injection contraception on weight gain in family planning acceptors at PMB Wahyuning Purwati Sleman Regency. This research employs a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 37 injectable contraceptive acceptors was selected using accidental sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using paired sample t-test and independent t-test to determine body weight changes before and after using injectable contraceptives. The results showed an increase in body weight among users of the 1-month injectable contraceptive with an average of 3.158 kg (p<0.000) and among users of the 3-month injectable contraceptive with an average of 3.653 kg (p<0.006). Both types of injectable contraception showed a significant effect on weight gain. The weight gain was greater in users of the 3-month injection compared to the 1-month injection. There is a need for more intensive education and counseling for contraceptive acceptors regarding the side effects of injectable contraception and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

As part of Islamic religious education (PAI), students are taught to live in harmony with Allah, themselves, other humans, all living things, and the natural world, embodying the concept of Hablun Minallah wa Hablun Minannas. The main objective is to shape students' belief, understanding, and practice of Islamic teachings through planned learning activities, training, and guidance. Islamic religious education is an endeavor by educators to shape students' beliefs and practices via structured instruction, training, and guidance. This study explores the features of Islamic education resources across various educational levels, examining the types of instruction designed to identify these materials and evaluate their pros and cons. The study discovered that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) materials from different grade levels and educational types exhibit distinct characteristics. These differences include variations in content, weight, depth, as well as psychological, philosophical, sociological, and technological aspects. Understanding the characteristics of PAI materials at various educational levels is crucial for developing more effective, relevant curricula and teaching methods tailored to students' developmental needs. The findings of this study are also intended to serve as a reference for educators when developing PAI learning materials suitable for students' educational and developmental levels.

The coal blending process conducted by PT. Bukit Baiduri Energi (PT. BBE) aims to achieve coal quality specifications that align with customer requirements. PT. BBE possesses multiple coal seams with varying quality characteristics, necessitating a carefully planned blending system with precise proportions to produce coal products that meet market demands. The objectives of this study are: to plan the quantity and quality parameters for coal blending, to evaluate the actual outcomes of coal blending in terms of quantity and quality, and to identify the factors contributing to discrepancies between the planned and actual coal quality following the blending process. To determine the optimal quantity and quality of each coal product in the blending plan, the simplex method was employed with the assistance of POM-QM for Windows version 5 software, alongside the weighting factor method. The final coal blending plan resulted in a total of 55,000 MT with the following quality specifications total moisture of 20.00% (ar), ash content of 6.10% (ad), total sulfur of 1.65% (ad), and a calorific value of 5,350 kcal/kg (ad). The actual blending outcome yielded the same quantity of 55,000 MT, with quality parameters as follows: total moisture of 20.18% (ad), ash content of 5.60% (ad), total sulfur of 1.35% (ad), and a calorific value of 5,340 kcal/kg (ad). The analysis of quality discrepancies revealed several contributing factors the presence of water accumulation in the ROM Stockpile following rainfall, which increased total moisture, the inadvertent inclusion of foreign materials into the feeder, resulting in elevated ash content, the unintentional mixing of coal from different product types, which led to inconsistencies in total moisture, ash content, total sulfur, and calorific value, and the rise in total moisture, which adversely affected the calorific value.

The quality of blood products, particularly Packed Red Cells (PRC), is a crucial factor in ensuring safe and effective blood transfusions. Donor conditions are thought to influence the quality of produced blood components, including factors such as Body Mass Index (BMI), hemoglobin (Hb), and hematocrit levels. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between donor BMI, hemoglobin, and hematocrit levels with the quality of PRC products, which include PRC volume, hemoglobin content, and hematocrit. This was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design, involving 30 blood donors at the Blood Transfusion Unit of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Gunungkidul. Donor BMI was calculated from weight and height measurements, while hemoglobin and hematocrit levels were examined from capillary blood samples. The volume, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and physical appearance of PRC were evaluated according to standard procedures and analyzed using the Pearson correlation test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that the donors had an average BMI of 26.58 kg/m², hemoglobin 14.62 g/dL, and hematocrit 43.17%. Meanwhile, the PRC units had an average volume of 200.76 mL, hemoglobin content of 37.38 g/unit, and hematocrit of 54.33%, with all plasma samples appearing clear. Statistical analysis revealed no significant correlation between donor BMI, hemoglobin, and hematocrit with PRC volume (p>0.05), PRC hemoglobin (p>0.05), or PRC hematocrit (p>0.05). These findings indicate that variations in donor BMI and baseline hematological parameters do not affect the quality of PRC products. This study concludes that donor BMI, hemoglobin, and hematocrit are not associated with PRC quality. Future studies are recommended to include additional parameters, such as triglyceride levels, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of donor factors affecting blood product quality.

This study proposes the integration of a Hybrid Recommendation method (combining Content-Based and Collaborative Filtering) with Random Forest Regression (RFR) to improve the accuracy of stay duration prediction in web-based boarding house booking systems. The main issue in online boarding booking systems is the inaccuracy of predicting user stay duration, affecting room allocation efficiency and customer satisfaction. The dataset was sourced from the hotel sector due to its attribute similarities and data validity. The research process includes data preprocessing (missing value imputation, normalization, and one-hot encoding), temporal and contextual feature engineering, hybrid recommendation system construction with CBF and CF score weighting, and RFR model training optimized through Grid Search and 10-fold cross-validation. Evaluation was conducted using MAE, RMSE, R² metrics, as well as recommendation metrics such as Precision@5, Recall@5, and Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR). Results show that this integrated model achieved an R² of 0.7239 and an MAE of 1.0537 days, as well as a Precision@5 of 0.9636. This integration proves effective in improving prediction accuracy and recommendation relevance and contributes to the development of AI-based intelligent systems in the accommodation domain.

Groundnut plants must be well maintained so that they can be food crops that have economic value and high fat and protein content. Many farmers still plant with the old pattern so that peanut plants are less fertile because they are affected by pests and other diseases. So with an expert system to diagnose peanut plants can help farmers or the general public in knowing the solution if experiencing problems or symptoms of this peanut plant. The application of the WP (weighted product) method can help the application become structured. From the results of the study, the expert system for diagnosing peanut plants can help many people for use as fundamental insights.
