Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) producing bags play an important role in the regional economy, but still face problems in financial management, particularly cash flow planning. The main problem faced by SME partners producing bags in Cipamokolan Village, Rancasari District, Bandung City, is the lack of comprehensive cash flow planning, which has the potential to cause liquidity problems. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of bag SME  in preparing a simple cash budget and encouraging its sustainable implementation. The methods used include training and mentoring with stages of problem identification, material delivery, cash budget preparation practice, and evaluation. The results of the activity show an increase in partners' understanding of cash planning, their ability to prepare a simple cash budget, and their commitment to implementing a cash budget in their daily business financial management. This activity is expected to improve cash flow control and support the sustainability of bag SME businesses

This community service activity aimed to enhance the security and efficiency of halal certification mentoring services at the Aurum First Sunrise community in Surakarta. The main challenge faced by the partner was the risk of sensitive SME data leakage such as ID cards, recipes, and supply chain information, due to the lack of an adequate document security mechanism. The core solution implemented was Technology Implementation in the form of a Cryptographically-based Document Management Information sistem (utilizing the Light Weight PDAC algorithm) integrated with digital access rights management and user Training. Evaluation demonstrated successful implementation, evidenced by an increase in the average satisfaction of SMEs regarding data security to 97.8%, confirming enhanced trust. Furthermore, digitalization successfully improved the efficiency of the mentoring team, reflected by a satisfaction score of 85.0%. In conclusion, this service successfully transformed the partner into a secure, efficient, and credible mentoring institution, significantly supporting SMEs in accessing halal certification.

This research aims to formulate a strategy to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of SMEs in East Java, supporting their independence. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation. Key informants included SME actors, relevant agency officials, representatives from SME Banks in East Java, and academics. The analysis revealed that the strategy for enhancing competitiveness focuses on adopting digital marketing, product and process innovation, and strengthening partnerships with government, financial institutions, and large companies to expand market access and resources. Sustainability is supported by effective financial management, compliance with legal requirements, and potential circular economy practices for resource efficiency. The strategy for independence emphasizes entrepreneurship training, mentoring, easier access to capital, and facilitating business matching and exhibitions for market expansion. The government and supporting institutions play a vital role in creating a conducive ecosystem. The relationship between competitiveness, sustainability, and independence is synergistic: increasing competitiveness enhances sustainability, which in turn stabilizes the business environment. Independence allows SMEs to be proactive in achieving both competitiveness and sustainability. With sustained support, East Java's SMEs have significant growth potential, contributing to the economy, but policies, empowerment programs, and resource access facilitation will be crucial to realizing their full potential.

The purpose of this research is to formulate a model for the Strategy to Enhance Competitiveness and Sustainability of SMEs in Supporting Independence in East Java. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use 1) Data reduction, 2) Data display, 3) Data triangulation, 4) Data verification. The informant determination technique uses indepth interviews with key informants such as SME actors, relevant agency officials, representatives from East Java's SME Banks, and academics. The results of data analysis and literature review indicate that the Strategy to Enhance Competitiveness of SMEs in East Java focuses on the adoption of digital marketing (utilization of social media, marketplaces, and e-commerce), product and process innovation (development of unique and quality products, production efficiency), as well as strengthening partnerships and collaborations with various parties (government, financial institutions, large companies) to expand market access and resources. The strategy for enhancing the sustainability of MSMEs in East Java heavily relies on prudent financial management practices (cash flow management, access to affordable financing such as Prokesra and Dagulir), compliance with legal and certification requirements (PIRT, halal, BPOM), as well as the potential implementation of circular economy concepts for resource efficiency and waste reduction. The strategy supporting the independence of MSMEs in East Java focuses on a comprehensive empowerment program, including entrepreneurship training and intensive mentoring for capacity building, ease of access to capital, and facilitation of business matching and exhibitions/bazaars for network and market expansion. The active role of the government and supporting institutions is crucial in creating a conducive ecosystem. The relationship between competitiveness, sustainability, and independence of SMEs is synergistic and mutually reinforcing. Increasing competitiveness directly contributes to economic sustainability. Sustainability creates stability that allows SMEs to continue innovating and enhancing their competitiveness. Meanwhile, independence empowers SMEs to be proactive in achieving competitiveness and sustainability, with the ability to make strategic decisions and adapt to changes. Overall, SMEs in East Java have great potential to continue growing and contributing to the economy. However, sustained support through appropriate policies, relevant empowerment programs, and facilitation of access to essential resources will be key to realizing SMEs that are not only competitive and sustainable but also fully independent.

The Rempang Eco City area in Batam City has great potential for SMEs, especially in the culinary and local product sectors. However, the development of SMEs in this area is still limited due to a lack of knowledge about product packaging and minimal use of digital technology for marketing. The mentoring program conducted by KKN student group 62 aims to improve the competitiveness of SMEs through strengthening more modern packaging and digital marketing strategies using social media, especially Instagram. The method used is a qualitative approach with participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and group discussions. The stages of activities include an initial survey to map the potential and conditions of MSMEs, conducting workshops and training on product design, packaging, and digital marketing, as well as direct assistance in creating and managing social media accounts. The results of the activities show an improvement in the ability of MSME actors to create attractive packaging designs, manage social media as a product showcase, as well as increased digital interaction with consumers. This program successfully increased the selling value of products, expanded market reach, and built the confidence of MSME actors. Although there are challenges related to digital literacy and creativity, this program has a positive long-term impact in promoting economic independence in the community and strengthening local cultural identity in Rempang Eco City.

Toraja woven fabric is a significant cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago, known for its high artistic value and immense potential as a regional leading product. Despite this, challenges remain, particularly in terms of human resource management, which tends to be relatively simple, and the limited use of digital media in marketing. To address these issues, a Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented with the goal of enhancing the human resource capacity at the UNNONI Weaving Center, as well as expanding its marketing reach through the utilization of digital media. The methods employed in the program included identifying the core problems, providing HR management training, conducting digital marketing workshops (focusing on social media and online marketplaces), mentoring, and evaluating the program’s outcomes. The HR management training emphasized improving business management, task distribution, production recording, and enhancing teamwork. The digital marketing training covered the creation of social media accounts, content creation using Canva, branding strategies, and utilizing online marketplaces for promotion. The results indicated a significant improvement in both management and marketing aspects. The HR at the weaving center began implementing more organized production records, work coordination improved, and the UNNONI social media accounts became actively used for promotional purposes. Additionally, the Shopee marketplace was utilized, allowing consumers from outside the region to purchase products. This study aims to analyze the development process of a creative economy based on bead waste and the use of digital platforms as a marketing medium to increase product competitiveness. The background of the study is based on the phenomenon of increasing volumes of waste that have not been optimally managed and the low skills of business actors in utilizing digital technology. The research method used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and literature studies, with informants consisting of business actors, community leaders, representatives of relevant agencies, and consumers. The results of the study indicate that processing waste into beads not only reduces environmental impacts but also opens up creative business opportunities with high economic value. The use of digital platforms has proven effective in expanding market reach, improving branding, and driving sales, although there are still obstacles in the skills of digital entrepreneurs. This study recommends strengthening digital marketing capacity and ongoing mentoring for creative waste-based entrepreneurs to achieve economic and environmental sustainability. In addition, synergy between business actors, the government, and local communities is a crucial factor in supporting the development of a waste-based creative economy. The involvement of local governments through entrepreneurship training and facilitating access to technology is essential to address the challenge of limited digital capabilities of entrepreneurs. Local communities also play a role in maintaining sustainable production and encouraging innovation in bead designs based on local culture to add value and attract market share. This collaboration can create a conducive ecosystem for the growth of creative small and medium enterprises (SMEs), while strengthening local identity and increasing product competitiveness in national and global markets. Thus, developing a waste-based creative economy and utilizing digital marketing are relevant innovative strategies in addressing current economic and environmental challenges.

The Unnoni Weaving Center is a community-led, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) development center for traditional weaving. Despite its significant potential, many entrepreneurs in this center face challenges in determining appropriate product prices. They typically rely solely on intuition or follow market prices without considering all production cost components, resulting in very small profit margins and even the risk of incurring losses. In response to these challenges, this community service program was designed to improve the ability of SMEs to determine more rational, measurable, and profitable selling prices through comprehensive and applicable training in production cost calculations. The methods employed included outreach, workshops, intensive mentoring, and hands-on simulations on pricing based on real costs and reasonable margins. The program was conducted in two sessions at the Unnoni Weaving Center Hall, involving 25 local weaving entrepreneurs. The results showed significant improvement, with participants' understanding of identifying production cost components increasing by 76%, while approximately 80% successfully conducted simulations for determining selling prices, taking into account raw materials, labor, overhead costs, and profit margins. The tangible impact of this activity is seen in increased business literacy, more systematic calculation skills, and the confidence of SMEs in determining prices and negotiating with consumers and business partners. Furthermore, this activity is expected to be a starting point for the implementation of a simple financial recording system, increased operational efficiency, and the development of a branding strategy for Unnoni woven products so they can compete more professionally, sustainably, and with high competitiveness in both local and global markets.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Indonesia's economy with a contribution of around 60% to the Gross Domestic Product and the absorption of more than 90% of the national workforce. In the culinary sector, MSMEs face various challenges, especially in terms of limited access to technology, efficient logistics management, and the implementation of hygiene practices that meet standards. This community service activity aims to empower culinary MSMEs through a structured and comprehensive approach that includes technology training, managerial capacity building, and the implementation of food safety standards. The method of implementing activities consists of three main stages: (1) preparation and planning, (2) implementation of training and mentoring, and (3) evaluation and follow-up. The training is focused on the use of digital technology for business operations, financial and logistics management, and hygiene practices in food production. Mentoring is carried out intensively to ensure that knowledge and skills transfer is effective. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the understanding and skills of culinary MSME actors. Partners are able to adopt simple technology to support business operations, improve management systems, and implement better hygiene practices. In addition, this activity succeeded in building a collaborative network between MSMEs, academics, local governments, and the private sector, which strengthened the local business ecosystem. However, challenges in the form of limited financial resources and the need for ongoing assistance are still major concerns. Overall, this program makes a real contribution to increasing the competitiveness of culinary MSMEs, encouraging local economic growth, and supporting the development of an inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem based on community empowerment.

This study explores the impact of Business Development Services (BDS) on the profitability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with a specific focus on distro businesses in the Medan Area, Medan. BDS refers to a range of non-financial services aimed at enhancing the growth, capacity, and performance of businesses. These services may include training, mentoring, market access, business planning, and other forms of support. The core objective of this research is to determine whether the utilization of BDS has a measurable influence on the financial outcomes of SMEs, particularly in terms of profitability. The study employs a quantitative research approach using a survey method. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to selected owners of distro businesses who had previously accessed BDS programs. The analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to evaluate the relationship between BDS engagement and business profitability. The results reveal a statistically significant and positive influence of BDS on profitability. SMEs that actively engaged with BDS programs showed noticeable improvements in their financial performance, indicating the effectiveness of these services in supporting business growth. In particular, distro businesses that received BDS assistance experienced increased efficiency, improved market reach, and better management practices, which contributed to higher profit margins. Based on these findings, the study highlights the critical role that BDS can play in enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of SMEs. It recommends that more business owners in the distro sector take advantage of available BDS programs to support their development. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of governmental and institutional support in promoting and expanding access to BDS to ensure that a wider range of SMEs can benefit from these valuable services.

The Mesak SME is a micro-enterprise in the food sector that still relies on conventional marketing strategies. This reliance on traditional promotional methods has prevented it from optimally reaching the digital market. However, utilizing digital technology is currently a crucial aspect of business development, particularly for increasing competitiveness and expanding market reach. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out with the primary goal of improving the Mesak SME's capacity to adopt digital marketing strategies. The community service program was designed in a structured and sustainable manner through several stages: an initial survey to determine the SME's existing condition, observation of existing marketing activities, and socialization of the benefits of digital technology in business development. Next, intensive training was conducted, covering the use of social media as a promotional tool, creating engaging digital content that aligns with the product's characteristics, and introducing e-commerce platforms to expand market access. The training focused on a practical approach that is easy for SMEs to understand. Furthermore, mentoring and evaluation were provided to ensure the sustainability of the digital strategy implementation after the program was completed. Through this series of activities, it is hoped that the Mesak SME will be able to actively utilize social media, produce engaging content, and market its products through various digital channels. The results of this activity are not only aimed at increasing sales volume but also at building a more professional and competitive business image, both in local and digital markets. With improved digital marketing capabilities, Mesak SMEs are expected to develop independently and sustainably in the era of digital transformation.

Digitalization has been a key catalyst for change in the global business landscape, driving the transformation of companies' strategies, organizational structures, and operational models. For small and medium enterprises (SMEs), digital technology opens up great opportunities to expand market reach and compete in the international arena more effectively. Technologies such as e-commerce, social media, big data analytics, and cloud-based platforms enable SMEs to break through geographical boundaries, facilitate access to global customers, and accelerate product distribution and marketing processes. This paper explores the current academic literature that discusses the influence of digital technology on the internationalization of SMEs. A total of five relevant studies were analyzed to identify common patterns, challenges, and successful strategies in the use of digital technology. The results of the study show that the adoption of digitalization not only improves operational cost efficiency, but also encourages business model innovation, such as digital platform-based marketing, cross-border virtual collaboration, and the development of a more adaptive global business ecosystem. In addition, the ability to utilize digital technology gives SMEs a competitive advantage through access to real-time market information, personalization of offers, and more targeted branding strategies. However, the research also found obstacles, such as limited human resources, technological infrastructure, and digital literacy among SMEs. Therefore, synergy is needed between business actors, the government, and academia to support the acceleration of digital technology adoption through training, mentoring, and policies that support innovation. The paper also highlights future research opportunities, such as the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, automation, and blockchain in supporting the global expansion of SMEs. These findings are expected to be a strategic reference in designing sustainable internationalization policies in the digital era.

Since the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) at the end of 2015, all economic actors—including SMEs and microenterprises—are expected to improve and adapt in order to enhance the quality of both goods and services. Failure to do so may result in Indonesia becoming a "soft target" market for other ASEAN countries, given its status as the most populous country in the region with over 270 million people. SMEs and microenterprises, which represent the embodiment of people-based economic democracy, would be particularly vulnerable if goods and services from various ASEAN countries continue to flood the Indonesian market. Recognizing this situation, empowering SMEs and microenterprises is not only necessary but inevitable to help the nation discover its identity through the development of comparative and competitive advantages. This activity began by identifying existing problems, followed by determining suitable solutions. The method used involves training and mentoring.The outcome of this initiative is the improved capability of the traditional cake microenterprise to optimize its sales by using locally sourced raw materials. As a result, the "Puji Lestari" Traditional Cake Microenterprise has successfully enhanced its production capacity and business management.Financial reporting is also a crucial aspect of business development. A well-maintained financial report reflects the progress of the business, particularly through the net profits it generates. These outcomes serve as indicators of increased empowerment and the strengthening of the enterprise.

This PKM is carried out to provide assistance for TKML programs from KEMENAKER RI in Mempawah Regency to develop business using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) method approach. Business mapping is carried out by implementing nine BMC steps. The training process is carried out online and offline as well as direct visits to each TKM. Activities are carried out by discussing BMC by academics who are carrying out PKM, and then presenting the results of the discussion in the forum. The results of this training process are that participants understand their business processes, can map the businesses they run using the BMC method and can gradually increase sales and profits from the businesses they run. In the long term, it is hoped that TKM can be implemented sustainably in order to develop their businesses and also create new SMEs/Businesses that are able to compete in the business world in the future.

Culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Banjarnegara face significant challenges in managing innovations and implementing adequate hygiene standards. The limited knowledge and skills of MSME actors in these two aspects have an impact on low competitiveness and business sustainability in the midst of increasingly fierce market competition. This community service program aims to increase the capacity of culinary MSMEs through innovation management training and the implementation of hygiene standards. The program methodology includes a series of workshops, training sessions, and hands-on mentoring that are designed in a participatory and contextual manner according to local needs. The training material is comprehensively arranged, covering theoretical and practical aspects relevant to the characteristics of culinary MSMEs in Banjarnegara. The results of the program implementation showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the importance of product innovation and the implementation of hygiene standards. The real impact of this program can be seen in improving product quality and variety, production process efficiency, and increasing revenue by 30-50% within six months after training. In addition, there has been a change in business behavior that is more adaptive and sustainability-oriented. The success of this program confirms the importance of a structured and participatory approach in empowering MSMEs, and shows that interventions based on local needs can produce significant economic and social impacts. The implementation model of this program has the potential to be replicated for the development of MSMEs in other sectors and regions with appropriate contextual adjustments.

Digital business transformation has become one of the main necessities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to compete in the modern era. This program aims to increase the income of MSME housewives through innovation and modification of donut topping products. This program is designed to empower housewives with new skills in making and marketing more interesting and varied donuts. Through training and mentoring, it is hoped that housewives can improve the quality of their products, attract more customers, and ultimately increase family income. The method used to develop the Skills Training Program is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. This approach involves the active participation of SME owners, namely housewives, as program stakeholders. Data collection techniques include interviews, surveys and observations, while the data collected will be analyzed qualitatively by coding data and compiling narratives to identify relevant problems and solutions. The result of this work, namely the UKM skills improvement program for housewives, is a comprehensive initiative that involves the active participation of UKM owners and stakeholders. This includes technical, managerial, financial and financial literacy training to increase production and competitiveness of SMEs. The program also covers aspects such as information technology, social skills, environmental sustainability and collaboration to empower SMEs as a whole. With this holistic approach, it is hoped that SMEs can develop and contribute to local economic growth and have wider market opportunities, especially for housewives in general.
