Background: The elderly are a vulnerable group requiring special attention, particularly regarding degenerative diseases like hypertension. In Melinggih Village, there are around 250 elderly residents, but participation in village activities is very low (only 57 are active). The main issues include limited information on degenerative diseases, a lack of skills in preparing traditional medicine, and weak cadre capacity in designing productive activities. Based on these conditions, this community service program (PKM) was implemented to improve the quality of life, health, independence, and productivity of the elderly, supporting the Indonesia Emas 2045 Vision and SDGs targets. Method: The research team partnered with the elderly group. Implemented solutions included education on degenerative diseases, training in making celery-based herbal drinks using Balinese local wisdom to lower hypertension, cadre mentoring, and elderly gymnastics. The program concluded with a comprehensive evaluation of participants' knowledge and skills. Results: Active activities were structured to increase elderly productivity: 1) Elderly gymnastics, educational activities, and active mentoring were conducted with the PKM team, cadres, and elderly in Melinggih Village regarding hypertension, resulting in increased knowledge and skills in managing elderly hypertension. 2) The elderly learned to make herbal drinks from celery. 3) Health cadres appeared active and collaborated well with the PKM team. Conclusion: Education on degenerative diseases, specifically hypertension, went well, successfully increasing cadres' and the elderly's understanding of their conditions to optimize health awareness. Training on traditional medicine preparation, specifically making celery drinks to lower hypertension, also progressed successfully.

Background: The rising global burden of hypertension presents a massive public health challenge, with its mitigation heavily tied to modifiable dietary factors. Among these, the escalating intake of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) has emerged as a significant dietary risk. Objectives: This study aims to synthesize recent epidemiological evidence regarding the association between various types of sweetened beverages and the risk of hypertension. Methods: A narrative-analytical review was conducted by retrieving observational studies and meta-analyses published between 2023 and 2026 from the Scopus database using explicit keyword combinations targeting SSBs, prospective cohorts, and blood pressure outcomes. Findings: Synthesized data reveals that high consumption of traditional SSBs significantly increases hypertension risk by 13% (RR: 1.13) and elevates systolic blood pressure in children, primarily driven by excess liquid calories. Artificially sweetened beverages (ASBs) show a 14% risk increase in observational data, potentially confounded by reverse causation, whereas acute pure fructose ingestion triggers rapid transient blood pressure elevation. Energy drinks induce rapid 24-hour blood pressure spikes due to high caffeine content. Conversely, 100% pure fruit juice exerts a protective effect (RR: 0.74) via endothelial-improving polyphenols, while honey demonstrates a neutral effect. Implications: Public health policies must implement aggressive regulatory interventions, such as taxation on SSBs and energy drinks, alongside targeted dietary counseling that differentiates between harmful liquid sugars and protective natural fruit juices.

Minors today are increasingly involved in criminal acts, and this does not happen without reason. One contributing factor is the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Children in Ujoh Bilang Village have started consuming alcohol, influenced by several factors, despite being underage. They consume both branded alcoholic drinks and traditional beverages such as arak. Based on research conducted in Ujoh Bilang Village, Mahakam Ulu, several factors have been identified as reasons why minors consume alcohol. These include internal factors within the child, external factors such as family influence, environment, alcohol vendors, and cultural factors. These elements serve as the background for underage alcohol consumption in the village. According to the research findings, minors who consume alcohol are not subjected to criminal punishment but are instead given warnings or educational guidance and then returned to their parents. However, minors can be held criminally responsible under the juvenile criminal justice system if they are unable to control themselves due to intoxication, leading to criminal acts such as accidents, fights, or even murder. In such cases, minors may be prosecuted for their actions.

Traditional herbal medicine MSMEs face challenges in increasing the appeal of their products among the younger generation who prefer fresh and modern drinks. To overcome this, innovation in the presentation of herbal medicine is needed to make it more practical, hygienic and attractive. One solution is the manufacture of a microcontroller-based portable box cooler that can maintain the freshness of herbal medicine at an optimal temperature. This box cooler is equipped with an automatic cooling system controlled by a microcontroller, ensuring the jamu stays fresh and high quality for a longer period of time. A temperature sensor monitors and adjusts the cooling conditions as needed, so that the herbs remain at their best when served. In addition, the automatic dispenser system helps regulate the volume of herbs dispensed precisely, reducing wastage and maintaining flavour consistency. With its portable and efficient design, this box cooler is perfect for use in various locations such as bazaars, cafes, offices, or community events. This innovation not only improves the efficiency and competitiveness of MSMEs, but also reinforces the image of jamu as a modern and contemporary healthy drink, making it more attractive to young consumers.
