High consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) has become an increasing public health concern, particularly among adolescents. Excessive SSB intake is a major risk factor for various non-communicable diseases, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, dental caries, and certain types of cancer. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with the level of sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption among adolescents. This study employed a descriptive literature review approach. Data were obtained from national and international journals relevant to the topic of SSB consumption among adolescents. The selected articles were analyzed to identify factors associated with SSB consumption. The findings indicated that SSB consumption among adolescents is influenced by several factors, including individual factors (gender and knowledge), socioeconomic factors (peer influence and pocket money allowance), environmental factors (mass media exposure and beverage availability), and psychological factors (stress level and preference for sweet tastes). This study highlights that SSB consumption is a multifactorial behavior influenced by various interacting determinants. Therefore, comprehensive interventions targeting both individual and environmental factors are needed to reduce SSB consumption among adolescents.

Stress in older adults needs attention because it can negatively affect physical, emotional, and social well-being, as well as overall quality of life. Elderly individuals living in social welfare institutions are particularly vulnerable to stress due to environmental changes, limited family involvement, loneliness, daily routines, and reduced independence. This study aimed to determine the effect of art painting group activity therapy on stress levels among older adults at Budi Mulia 2 Cengkareng Social Welfare Home. A quantitative pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 33 participants selected through total sampling. Stress levels were measured using the DASS-21 stress subscale. The intervention consisted of four art painting sessions lasting 30–45 minutes each. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The mean stress score decreased from 22.18 before the intervention to 15.94 after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference (p = 0.000), indicating that art painting group activity therapy effectively reduced stress levels among older adults.

Parental conflict is a significant risk factor that threatens the psychological well-being of adolescents. This study aims to review the relationship between parental conflict and anxiety levels in adolescents through a qualitative literature approach. Various research findings consistently show that high-frequency and high-intensity parental conflict contributes to increased anxiety, emotional insecurity, and maladaptive coping in adolescents. The mechanisms underlying this relationship include the emotional security theory, the cognitive-contextual framework, and the spillover hypothesis, each of which explains how conflict in the family system propagates psychologically to children. The results of this literature study confirm that adolescents who are regularly exposed to parental conflict show a significantly higher risk of developing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and related internalizing problems. The family environment, particularly the quality of the parental relationship, is the dominant proximal determinant of adolescent mental health. Furthermore, parental conflict has been shown to undermine parent-child attachment, destabilize family functioning, and trigger chronic stress responses in adolescents who are still developing emotional regulation capacities. In the Indonesian context, this problem is particularly urgent given the high prevalence of mental health disorders among adolescents aged 15–24 years. Therefore, integrated preventive interventions involving families, schools, and mental health professionals are urgently needed.

The transportation of tiger shrimp postlarvae (Penaeus monodon) in aquaculture practice is a critical stage as it may induce physiological stress that directly reduces survival rate. Salinity, as a water quality parameter closely associated with osmoregulatory processes, is a key determinant of success in closed wet system transportation. The present study was designed to examine how varying salinity concentrations influence the survival percentage of PL 10 tiger shrimp postlarvae subjected to closed wet transport conditions, as well as to identify the most suitable salinity range for such transport. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed with five salinity levels as treatments — 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 ppt — each replicated five times. Each experimental unit contained 1,500 postlarvae in 1 L of oxygenated water packed in plastic bags and transported for approximately 3 hours. The main parameter observed was survival rate (SR), while supporting parameters included temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), and pH. Statistical evaluation included the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, Levene’s test for variance homogeneity, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a significance level of α = 0.05. Results showed that salinity differences had a highly significant effect on postlarvae survival rate (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). The 25 ppt salinity treatment produced the highest survival rate of 99.64%, while 10 ppt resulted in the lowest at 63.78%. The measured water quality variables — temperature, dissolved oxygen, and pH — did not exert a statistically significant effect on postlarvae survival throughout the transport period.

Hypertension has become a chronic disease known as the silent killer because it often does not show symptoms but can cause serious complications such as stroke, heart disease, and kidney failure. According to WHO, hypertension is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and its prevalence continues to rise. Sleep disturbances can increase sympathetic nervous system activity and stress hormones, which impact blood pressure elevation. Depression is characterized by prolonged feelings of sadness, loss of interest, and decreased energy. Physiologically, depression can increase stress hormones and cause autonomic nervous system imbalance, leading to elevated blood pressure. To determine the relationship between sleep pattern disturbances and depression levels with blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the outpatient department of RS Permata Medika Semarang. Quantitative research with a correlational design using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling with a sample size of 79 respondents. The instruments used are the PSQI questionnaire for sleep pattern disturbances and the DASS-42 for depression levels. Ethics test no 03/EC-LPPM/UWHS/II-2026. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between sleep pattern disturbances and blood pressure in hypertensive patients (p=0.000; rho=0.826). Respondents with poor sleep patterns mostly have high blood pressure, indicating a very strong and positive relationship, where the worse the sleep pattern, the more uncontrolled the blood pressure tends to be. Additionally, there is a significant relationship between the level of depression and blood pressure (p=0.000; rho=0.808). Respondents with severe and very severe depression mostly have high blood pressure, which means that the higher the level of depression, the more the blood pressure increases or becomes uncontrolled. There is a relationship between sleep pattern disturbances and depression levels with blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the outpatient department of Permata Medika Hospital Semarang.

First-year university students undergo a transitional phase from the school environment to the academic, social, and emotional demands of higher education. This transition often triggers stress when not supported by an adequate social environment. Peer support plays an essential role in this adaptation process by providing emotional support, information, and a sense of belonging. Positive peer relationships can help students manage academic pressure, whereas poor peer interactions may increase the risk of stress. Therefore, peer support serves as a protective factor in maintaining the psychological well-being of first-year students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using the Peer Support Questionnaire (PSQ) and the Student-Life Stress Inventory (SSI) from 130 first-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UNISSULA. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Gamma correlation test to determine the relationship between the variables. The Gamma test revealed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted, meaning there is a significant relationship between peer support and stress levels among first-year students. Postoperative pain is a common physiological response following surgical procedures, and its suboptimal management can have physiological and psychological effects, including sleep disturbances, decreased functional capacity, increased anxiety, and deterioration in quality of life. This scoping review aims to describe the empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of music therapy in reducing the intensity of postoperative pain in surgical patients. A systematic search was conducted through four major databases (ScienceDirect, PubMed, Neliti, and Google Scholar) using Boolean operators and keywords such as ‘postoperative pain,’ ‘music therapy,’ and ‘pain scale.’ Inclusion criteria included articles published in the last decade, in English or Indonesian, and available in full text format. In accordance with PRISMA-ScR guidelines, this review analysed 10 articles. The synthesis of results showed that music therapy consistently reduced pain intensity, anxiety, and analgesic requirements through mechanisms such as increased endorphin secretion, decreased stress hormone levels, and activation of the gate control theory. Typically administered for 15–30 minutes, music therapy is a safe, cost-effective, and patient-acceptable non-pharmacological modality. This intervention is recommended as an adjunct component in perioperative pain management in nursing practice, although further standardised research is needed to improve consistency.
