This study analyzes the potential use of solar cells as a renewable energy source on the MV SARI INDAH. With the increasing demand for energy and the negative environmental impacts of fossil fuels, solar cells provide a promising eco-friendly alternative. The research focuses on developing a prototype system to charge batteries using solar power, converting DC power into AC for ship operations. The methodology includes measuring sunlight intensity, current, and output voltage, while also calculating the battery capacity and the ship’s electrical load. Tests were conducted at various tilt angles, with data recorded hourly over two days to assess performance. The results show that a 75° tilt angle yields the highest voltage, current, and power output when compared to other angles. Based on these findings, the study recommends installing solar panels at a 75° angle on the compass deck. The system design utilizes two panels positioned opposite each other, forming a 150° angle to optimize energy capture. This setup is capable of supplying power to key areas on the ship, such as seven lamps in the E/R 2nd Deck, Control Room, Emergency Generator Room, and CO₂ Room. The system is designed to meet the total daily energy demand of approximately 1,400 Wh, which can be efficiently fulfilled by eight solar cells rated at 50 Wp each, providing a sustainable and efficient energy solution for the vessel.

The training on photovoltaic cell implementation at At-Taubah Islamic Boarding School, Tirtamulya, Karawang, aimed to enhance the students’ productivity through mastery of renewable energy technologies. This training was conducted as an empowerment initiative to enable students to independently apply photovoltaic cell technology to meet energy needs within the boarding school environment, while also equipping them with entrepreneurial skills in the renewable energy sector. The training methods included the delivery of basic material on photovoltaic cells, hands-on practice in assembling small-scale solar panels, and simulations of their use for lighting and simple equipment within the school. The results showed an 85% increase in students’ understanding of the working principles of photovoltaic cells, based on pre-test and post-test comparisons, along with improved skills in installing basic solar panel systems. Moreover, the training fostered student interest in developing solar panel installation and maintenance services within the surrounding community. Thus, this program contributed to enhancing the students' productivity and self-reliance while promoting clean energy utilization within the pesantren community.

Public Street Lighting using Solar Energy / Solar Cells (PJUTS) is an alternative source of electrical energy. Sunlight is a crucial energy source where solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into electrical energy through the photovoltaic process. Water is one of the things that is important for life, it is even more important if the water that is obtained can provide other benefits. This is the case for freshwater fish breeders in the Kemuning tributary of the North Banjarbaru River, South Kalimantan.  Water is an important variable because water is the medium where fish live. Freshwater fish of good quality are a superior commodity for fisheries cultivation in Indonesia in general. This aquatic organism is the same as freshwater fish in general which breathe using gills (operculum).  The treatment of the freshwater fish cultivation process requires a flowing water media system with sufficient oxygen content.  For this reason, several tools are needed to maintain the quality of pool water, namely a pool water filter (filter), a water suction and spray tool to regulate water circulation and an aerator to produce air bubbles. In this service activity, a water filter will be made with physical and chemical substrates to filter pond water with a water circulation system so that the filtered water has good water quality to support the life cycle of freshwater fish.  As power to run the supporting equipment in the water filtering system, electricity is used by utilizing sunlight using solar cells. In this community service activity, to overcome existing problems, a pool water filter will be made with physical and chemical substrates. Making freshwater fish pond water filters using Bioring, Charcoal, Japmate, and Bio Foam substrates, where these 4 substrates provide good water quality results, namely, temperature 28.1–30.30C, pH7.4–8.1, DO 5.246 .53mg/L, NH 30.06–0.40mg/L, NO2 0.056–0.90mg/L and NO3-0.28–0.190 mg/L, the highest survival test (SR) in the bioring treatment was 86, 66%, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) test yielded a result of 3.10%. Meanwhile, the specific growth rate (SGR) test for freshwater fish was found to be 1.15%.  However, of course, the more important target is to provide knowledge about good freshwater fish cultivation for residents of the Kemuning tributary, Loktabat Utara Banjarbaru Village, with an increase in knowledge of approximately 85% from before the PPM activities. The main output of this activity is an accredited Community Service Journal, in addition to water filtering equipment products with physical and chemical filter substrates.

Solar energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources to support the transition toward clean energy, yet conventional solar cell technology still faces efficiency limitations. Perovskite materials offer a potential solution due to their superior optoelectronic properties, although challenges related to stability and toxicity remain. This study aims to analyze the interaction of electromagnetic waves with perovskite materials and to evaluate the effect of nano-scale anti-reflective coatings on improving energy conversion efficiency. The research employed a combination of electromagnetic simulations using specialized software and laboratory experiments with miniature perovskite solar cell prototypes. Simulation results demonstrated higher electromagnetic field intensity within the active layer after the addition of anti-reflective coatings, with photon absorption increased by 15–18%. Experimental validation revealed that the energy conversion efficiency improved from 16.8–17.5% without anti-reflective layers to 20.5–21.3% with TiO₂- and SiO₂-based coatings. Optical characterization using a spectrophotometer confirmed enhanced light absorption up to 90% at specific wavelengths, while SEM analysis showed that smoother and more uniform SiO₂ coatings contributed to superior performance compared to TiO₂. Minor discrepancies between simulation and experimental results were attributed to fabrication variations, yet both approaches exhibited consistent improvement trends. These findings highlight that integrating perovskite materials with nano-scale anti-reflective coatings is a key strategy for enhancing the efficiency of next-generation solar cells while supporting future clean energy sustainability.

The author provides training and guidance aimed at improving student competence in terms of communication, creative thinking, collaboration and creativity at the 2023 national level Ki Hajar STEM activities. This research uses quantitative research methods with a quasi-experimental type. There are two stages in this research, the preparation stage, namely the preparation stage before the competition and the implementation stage, namely the stage of participating in the Kihajar STEM competition activities. The innovation they created, namely a cellphone device or automatic sprinkler based on solar cells, increased their abilities in terms of creativity and were able to work together in making this cellphone device which was used as a tool to compete in the Kihajar STEM competition. 4C competencies consist of critical thinking competencies, creativity competencies, communication competencies and collaborative competencies.

In agriculture with the hydroponic method of the DFT system (Deep Flow Technique), the circulation of plant nutrients must occur continuously to prevent decay in plants. Along with the many concerns due to the large electricity costs incurred to run the irrigation system for hydroponic plants, the authors hereby design a tool in the form of a submersible pump as a medium for regulating the flow of water in plants by utilizing a 50 WP PV module instead of a source of electrical energy from PLN. The method used in this research is the method of observation, literature study, design, and testing. The results of the 50 WP solar panel-based submersible pump trial show that a circuit connected to a battery at 1M Head tends to produce a stable water discharge, which is an average of 6.03 liters/minute compared to one that is not connected to a battery, which is only 5.28 liters/minute. Furthermore, the resulting water discharge affects the quality of the plants, especially in root length, number of leaves, leaf length, and leaf size. The test results are used as a reference for the comparison of expenditure costs between irrigation systems run using solar cells and those based on conventional (PLN).

Electricity is a very important need for the life of many people. Especially with the increasing number of tools that use electricity as a source of energy in this day and age. With the increasing demand for electricity, the more electrical energy that must be issued, especially by PLN. Electricity is also a source of energy that is needed in all activities related to electronics, therefore its use varies greatly. The purpose of making this final project entitled "Installation of Solar Power Generation Devices (PLTS) as a Source of Electrical Energy in the Garden of the Mahktab Building, Panca Budi Campus" is as a form of saving electrical energy in garden lighting. Electrical energy saving is done by utilizing solar cells, batteries as current storage and LED lights which are operated with a control system. The method used in this final project is the design method. The method steps are analysis, design, manufacture and testing. analysis, design, manufacture and testing. The design of the solar cell device as a converter of solar energy into electrical energy which is then stored in the battery.
