Traditional wedding rituals constitute intangible cultural heritage rich in symbolic meaning, serving to strengthen social solidarity and transmit cultural values. The massive penetration of modernization and digitalization has created new pressures for the Bugis-Makassar community in maintaining this heritage. This study analyzes the transformation of Bugis-Makassar traditional wedding rituals in South Sulawesi within the digital era context, focusing on how the community negotiates their cultural identity between the forces of tradition and modernity. Using a critical ethnographic approach with a multiple case study design grounded in Bhabha's concept of the third space, the study involved 42 informants from three groups: young couples (digital generation, aged 22–35), parents/family (middle generation, 40–60), and customary elders (to panrita lopi/bissu, 65+) in Makassar City, Bone Regency, and Wajo Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation in 12 wedding ceremonies, and social media content analysis. Results reveal three main transformation patterns: (1) digital spectacularization—rituals adapted for social media consumption; (2) reflective selectivity—young couples actively choosing which traditional elements to retain; and (3) procedural hybridization—the integration of customary procedures with contemporary elements. These transformations are colored by intergenerational contestation that generally ends in compromise between demands for customary completeness and the aesthetic preferences of the younger generation. The study concludes that this transformation is not merely a loss of tradition, but a creative form of identity negotiation in which the Bugis-Makassar community actively reconstructs the meaning of siri' (self-esteem/dignity) and pesse (solidarity) within the changed socio-cultural landscape. The findings imply the need for cultural preservation policies that understand change as inherent to living culture, and open avenues for longitudinal studies on the intergenerational transmission of cultural values.

This study aims to examine the role of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers in shaping students’ Islamic character through a character education approach. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research design by reviewing various literature sources, including books, journal articles, and relevant previous studies. The findings indicate that Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers play a strategic role as educators, mentors, role models, facilitators, and guides in instilling Islamic character values in students from an early age. These values include honesty, discipline, responsibility, patience, empathy, humility, gratitude, mutual respect, cooperation, and obedience to Islamic teachings. The formation of Islamic character is carried out through classroom learning activities, daily habituation, exemplary behavior demonstrated by teachers, and various religious programs integrated into school life, such as congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, and Islamic celebrations. In addition, teachers collaborate with parents and the school environment to create a consistent and supportive atmosphere for character development. The study concludes that the success of Islamic character education at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level is strongly influenced by the consistency, commitment, and quality of teachers’ roles in carrying out their educational responsibilities and serving as positive examples for students in everyday life.

Stunting remains a major nutritional problem in Indonesia, impacting the quality of children's growth and development, both in the short and long term. This impact not only affects physical growth but also affects children's endurance and future productivity. Although the national prevalence of stunting shows a downward trend, cases of stunting are still found in various regions, including Banyusari Village, Tegalrejo District. The stunting problem in this region is closely related to parents' low understanding of fulfilling balanced nutrition, especially protein intake, which plays a crucial role in the growth and development of toddlers. This community service activity aims to increase parents' knowledge and awareness in stunting prevention efforts through applicable nutrition education. The activity was carried out by students of the Community Service Program (KKN) of Tidar University. The method used was a socialization method of presenting material on stunting prevention combined with fun cooking practices as a learning medium for serving balanced nutritious meals. In addition, this activity was also accompanied by the provision of Supplementary Food (PMT). The results of the activity showed that participants participated enthusiastically and were able to understand the material presented. The educational approach of fun cooking has been deemed effective in increasing parents' understanding of balanced nutrition and encouraging a shift in mindset from the "just to get full" paradigm to ensuring quality nutrition. This activity is expected to become a practical and sustainable alternative for nutrition education in supporting community-based stunting prevention efforts.

Mosques play a strategic role as centers of worship and community development at the local level, serving not only as places of worship but also as spaces for non-formal religious education. However, many rural mosques are experiencing declining functionality due to limited facilities, human resources, and a lack of sustainable programs. This condition is evident in the Al-Karomah Mosque in Kalibundar Hamlet, where religious activities have declined due to the lack of sustainability of the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) program. This community service activity aims to revitalize the function of the mosque by strengthening the TPA by emphasizing the instilling of religious moderation values and increasing community participation. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving mosque administrators, TPA teachers, community leaders, and parents of students through observation, interviews, and documentation of activities. The Bapalas Bidan tradition is a ritual of the Dayak tribe in Kalimantan to express gratitude to the midwife after the birth process. The ritual includes activities such as bathing the baby, serving offerings, and performing a symbolic ceremony to spiritually "return" the baby from the midwife to its parents. In the past, these rituals had a magical element, but nowadays more prayers and Islamic principles are applied. While modern midwifery practice faces challenges to its survival, this tradition remains crucial as it strengthens culture and social connections. This study examines the meaning of the tradition, its evolution, and the ways in which communities maintain it in modern times.

Islamic identity is a crucial component in the education provided by Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, serving as a foundation for the formation of character and religious values among students. However, understanding of how students' Islamic identity is formed within the context of learning at madrasah is still limited. This study aims to develop a theory on the process of Islamic identity formation among students using a grounded theory approach.  This research employs grounded theory methodology to explore and understand the dynamics of Islamic identity formation among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and parents, as well as classroom observations and curriculum document analysis. The data analysis process was conducted iteratively to identify main categories and emerging themes, and to build a comprehensive theory on the identity formation process.   The study found that the process of Islamic identity formation among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students is influenced by a complex interaction between internal and external factors. Internal factors include personal religious understanding and learning experiences, while external factors encompass the influence of the school environment, curriculum, and family support. The findings indicate that students' Islamic identity is shaped through integrated learning experiences, social interactions, and deep personal reflection.  This research develops a theory that describes how Islamic identity among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students is formed within the learning context. The findings provide important insights for curriculum development and teaching strategies aimed at supporting the formation of students' Islamic identity. The implications of this study also highlight the need for stronger support from families and the school environment to facilitate a positive identity formation process.

The purpose of this study is to examine how mosques in Talang Sebaris Village, Air Periukan District, Seluma, contribute to children's religious education. In addition to being places of worship, mosques have significant social and educational roles in society, particularly in the development of children's religious understanding and character. This research examines several programs and activities started by mosques to encourage religious education, like children's recitations, Al-Qur'an Study Places (TPQ), and other religious activities. It does this using a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data was gathered through observation, interviews with parents, kids participating in these programs, and managers of the mosque. The study's findings indicate that Talang Sebaris Village's mosque has a big influence on how kids understand religion and morality. The success of these initiatives is, however, hampered by a lack of facilities and teaching personnel due to resource constraints. According to this research, mosques should get more community and governmental assistance in order to continue serving as hubs for longer-lasting and more efficient religious instruction.
