This study examines how children and their relationship with nature are represented through the character of Antonio in the film Encanto (2021). Antonio is portrayed as a child who can communicate with animals, reflecting innocence, empathy, and a spiritual closeness to nature. This study aims to describe how children's relationship with nature is depicted in the film and to interpret the symbolic meaning behind these interactions. The method used in this study is a descriptive, qualitative approach that draws on theories of child development, symbolism, and children's imagination. The results of this study show that among children, Antonio reflects a harmonious, loving, and open attitude towards other life forms. Animals in the film serve as moral and emotional symbols that reflect the nature of children: the jaguar symbolizes courage, the toucan symbolizes honesty and cheerfulness. In contrast, the capybara symbolizes peace of mind. This study shows that children's films can be a tool for building ecological awareness and social empathy through imagination. The implications of this study underscore the importance of strengthening empathy and environmental balance in children's education through literature and film.

Islamic architecture in the archipelago cannot be understood as simply a transfer of physical forms from the Middle East to Southeast Asia. It is the result of a deep cultural dialogue between universal Islamic principles and local wisdom that has been formed since pre-Islamic times. When Islam spread in the archipelago, it did not exist as a force that negates Hindu, Buddhist, and vernacular traditions, but rather proceeded through visual and structural synthesis that gave birth to a distinctive and hybrid Islamic architectural identity. One of the most iconic manifestations of this process is the use of overlapping roofs in historic mosques such as the Great Mosque of Demak and the Great Mosque of Banten. Different from typical Persian or Mediterranean stone domes, this multi-storey wooden structure is inspired by the concept of Meru in Hindu-Javanese architecture. The choice is not only symbolic, but also a functional adaptation to the tropical climate, as it allows for efficient rainwater disposal as well as optimal natural ventilation. Spatially, the placement of mosques follows the concept of Catur Gatra Tunggal, which is the integration of mosques with squares, government centers, and markets. This pattern reflects the integration between the spiritual, political, and economic life of the community. In the interior, the use of Saka Guru shows the appointment of local construction techniques as the main element of worship buildings. Aspects of syncretism are also seen in ornamentation, where pre-Islamic figurative motifs are transformed into flora and calligraphy patterns that are in harmony with the principles of Islamic aniconism. Thus, the archipelago's Islamic architecture represents Islam as an inclusive and contextual force that is able to process local traditions into a sustainable new identity.

The paradigm of Islamic education requires the integration of Western learning theories with an Islamic perspective to create a holistic approach to education. With the rapid development of psychological theories in education, such as behaviorism, cognition, humanism, and constructivism, it is essential to examine their relevance within the context of Islamic education. This article aims to analyze the integration of these theories in Islamic learning, with a focus on their connection to key Islamic concepts such as reward-punishment (pahala-dosa), reflection (tafakkur), self-actualization, mutual assistance (ta'awun), and consultation (syura). This study uses a literature review method with a qualitative approach. Articles were gathered through Google Scholar and Publish or Perish with keywords "Behaviorism in Islamic Education" AND "Cognitive Learning in Islam" AND "Humanistic Approach in Islamic Education" AND "Constructivism in Islamic Education." Of the initial 40 articles obtained, a screening process resulted in 5 articles that met the publication criteria (2020–2025), relevance to the topic, and open access. The review results show that integrating these theories into Islamic education can enrich the learning process by linking moral, social, and spiritual elements that are essential in Islamic teachings. This literature synthesis reveals the importance of integrating psychological theories with the principles of Islamic education to create a more comprehensive and holistic educational system. Further research should develop empirical methodologies and more detailed and practical application models in Islamic education practice.

This study discusses the relevance and role of hybrid learning strategies as a conceptual solution to the crisis of effectiveness in traditional fiqh learning in Islamic boarding schools in the digital age. The background of this study stems from the problem of declining efficiency and interactivity of classical learning methods such as sorogan and bandongan amid technological developments that demand pedagogical innovation. This study aims to analyze theoretically how the integration of traditional pesantren values and modern learning approaches can be applied without eliminating spiritual identity and scientific sanad. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach through a review of the latest scientific literature on Islamic education and hybrid learning. The results show that a hybrid learning model based on synchronous and asynchronous approaches can increase flexibility, effectiveness, and student participation in the learning process, while maintaining personal relationships with teachers. The theoretical implications enrich the concept of integrating Islamic education and technology, while the practical implications offer an adaptive curriculum model for Islamic boarding schools to respond to the challenges of the digital age without abandoning Islamic values.

Contemporary church ministry is often trapped in a seasonal pattern, with increased activity only during major events like Christmas and Easter, while stagnating at other times. This phenomenon indicates a fundamental problem in leadership patterns that are not poverty-oriented. This article analyzes the roots of seasonal church ministry through a qualitative-descriptive approach and theological reflection based on Osmer's framework. Literature reviews by Barna, Maxwell, Banks & Ledbetter, as well as the leadership principles of Jesus Christ, show that seasonality is eliminated by reactive leadership that lacks a long-term vision, minimal spiritual training, and a weak ministerial cadre system. As a solution, this article offers a sustainable leadership model that emphasizes a year-round discipleship vision, ministerial training and regeneration, systematic ministry evaluation, and the spiritual example of leaders. This model is believed to help churches experience stable growth, establish a consistent ministry rhythm, and present relevant evidence to the world. Thus, sustainable leadership is a strategic and theological approach to addressing seasonal ministry and strengthening the mission of the church today.

Education in Islam plays a vital role in developing human potential holistically, where knowledge serves as the primary indicator of an individual's quality. This study aims to examine the virtue of knowledgeable people from the Quranic perspective, focusing on the theological and pedagogical analysis of Surah Al-Mujadalah verse 11. The method employed is descriptive qualitative through library research with a thematic exegesis (tafsir) approach. The results indicate that QS. Al-Mujadalah verse 11 establishes a hierarchy of human dignity based on the integration of faith and knowledge, rather than social or material status. These findings confirm that the elevation of rank encompasses a worldly dimension in the form of moral authority and an otherworldly dimension in the form of high positions before Allah. The implications of this research for contemporary Islamic education emphasize the importance of eliminating the dichotomy between religious and general sciences to cultivate the insan kamil (perfect human), who possesses a balance of intellectual intelligence, spiritual depth, and social responsibility. The study concludes that the virtue of knowledge in Islam is always grounded in transcendental values that bridge theory, faith, and practical deeds.

Outcome-Based Education (OBE) has emerged as a strategic approach to improving graduate quality in higher education, including pastoral colleges. The pastoral education context in Indonesia, particularly in island regions such as Nias, requires the integration of academic, spiritual, and pastoral dimensions in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the strategies for implementing OBE at the Pastoral College Dian Mandala Gunungsitoli and to identify its supporting factors and challenges. A qualitative research design with a literature review approach was applied, drawing on 25 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025. The analysis involved identifying main themes, categorizing supporting and challenging factors, and synthesizing strategies for implementation. The findings indicate that OBE implementation includes developing curriculum documents aligned with the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) and National Standards of Higher Education (SN-Dikti), strengthening faculty capacity through training, integrating innovative learning models, and applying authentic assessment that evaluates both academic and spiritual competencies. Supporting factors consist of institutional leadership commitment, the availability of curriculum information systems, and collaboration with external stakeholders. Major challenges involve limited faculty understanding of OBE, inadequate technological infrastructure, and resistance to changes in academic culture. This study concludes that OBE can enhance graduates’ competencies and strengthen pastoral identity, provided that faculty training, internal quality assurance systems, and the integration of local wisdom into the curriculum are consistently developed.

The tradition of mohataman Al-Qur'an is one of the religious practices that is alive and thriving among Indonesian Muslims, especially during Ramadan in preparation for Eid al-Fitr. In Kampung Pos Sentul, this tradition is carried out collectively by the community as a form of gratitude for the completion of fasting and as a means of strengthening Islamic brotherhood. This study aims to examine the tradition of mohataman Al-Qur'an from the perspective of living hadith, which is to see how the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad is understood, internalized, and manifested in the social-religious practices of the community. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the tradition of mohataman Al-Qur'an is based on the community's understanding of the hadiths about the virtues of reading the Qur'an, the encouragement to increase acts of worship during Ramadan, and the importance of togetherness in doing good. This tradition is not only ritualistic in nature, but also has social, educational, and spiritual dimensions that strengthen the religious identity of the Pos Sentul Village community. Thus, mohataman Al-Qur'an can be understood as a form of actualization of hadith in real life that continues to live on and is passed down from generation to generation.

This study aims to understand how the spirit of innovation and the meaning of entrepreneurship are constructed through the lived experiences of startup business actors in the digital economy era. Using a qualitative narrative inquiry approach within the social constructivist paradigm, this research explores how startup entrepreneurs interpret innovation, resilience in the face of failure, and social responsibility as integral parts of their entrepreneurial identity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis of startups in the technology, education, and creative economy sectors in Indonesia. Narrative thematic analysis reveals that innovation is understood not merely as a business strategy but also as a form of self-expression and the construction of entrepreneurial identity. Failure is perceived as a reflective learning process that shapes resilience and generates new meaning in the entrepreneurial journey. Moreover, entrepreneurship is interpreted as a meaningful journey that integrates economic goals with social and moral values. The digital ecosystem functions as a social space where entrepreneurial values are negotiated, shared, and reinforced through interaction and collaboration. These findings affirm that entrepreneurship in the digital era is a social process involving creativity, ethical reflection, and sustainable innovation. Theoretically, this study contributes to expanding the understanding of entrepreneurship as a social practice, while practically emphasizing the importance of reflective learning and value awareness in building a sustainable and meaningful startup ecosystem for society.

This study aims to examine the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming Buddhist Sunday School education at the Shimakalingga Temple in Jepara in the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results show that AI technology is beginning to be utilized in the learning process, such as the use of interactive visual media, Dharma quiz applications, and digital platforms for distance learning. The use of AI has been proven to increase student interest and understanding of Buddhist teachings, as well as support more inclusive and adaptive learning. However, challenges remain, including limited resources, lack of teacher training, and the need for ethical guidelines for the use of AI in the context of religious education. This study concludes that AI plays a significant role in supporting the transformation of Buddhist education, but its use must remain balanced with spiritual values and the role of teachers as moral guides. Therefore, collaboration between the temple, educators, and technology is needed to create a sustainable learning system based on Dharma values.

Modern society faces multidimensional complexities, ranging from spiritual crises and technological disruption to social inequality. Muslims, with their theological and intellectual capital, are often perceived as suboptimal in responding to these challenges contextually and applicatively. This article aims to analyze the fundamental problems faced by Muslims in formulating answers to the problems of modern society and to explore the strategic role of Islamic higher education institutions, specifically the Muhammadiyah University of Malaysia (UMAM), in bridging this gap. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at UMAM. Data was collected through literature study, observation, and structured interviews with academics and policymakers at UMAM. The findings indicate that the main problems lie in: (1) the dichotomy between naqli and aqli sciences, (2) a static approach to religious texts, and (3) a lack of integrative and innovative solution models. UMAM strives to address these issues through three main strategies: integration of knowledge in the curriculum, problem-based research, and empowering community engagement. This article concludes that UMAM has the potential to become a model social laboratory of Islam that combines the Muhammadiyah renewal ethos with the Malaysian socio-cultural context to produce relevant, humanist, and rahmatan lil 'alamin solutions.

This study examines the dynamics of Buddhist religious counseling services in North Kalimantan Province in the post-pandemic period, particularly focusing on satisfaction levels and the distribution of counselors across districts. Using a quantitative approach with descriptive and correlational designs, the study involved a population of 9 Buddhist counselors and 3,993 congregants, with 98 selected respondents. Satisfaction levels were measured using the SERVQUAL framework, which evaluates service quality through five key dimensions. Findings show an overall satisfaction score of 3.65 (out of 5), categorized as “satisfied.” The highest rating was in the assurance dimension, reflecting public trust in counselor competence. However, empathy and responsiveness dimensions scored lower, especially in regions with few or no assigned counselors. A Pearson correlation analysis yielded a weak positive relationship (r = 0.214) between counselor-to-congregant ratios and satisfaction scores, emphasizing that equitable distribution is more crucial than sheer numbers. This research underscores the urgent need for needs-based distribution policies and hybrid service strategies that combine digital and in-person modalities. The results offer important policy implications, highlighting that spiritual service equity contributes to social cohesion and emotional well-being, especially in pluralistic and geographically dispersed regions.

This study aims to explore the phenomenon of fundraising conducted in the name of Buddhism and humanity in Kisaran City, North Sumatra, using a qualitative approach. Data was collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with the participants, and document analysis related to the fundraising activities that had been conducted. The research findings show that fundraising is carried out in various forms, such as food donations, social activities, and online donations. All of these activities are rooted in Buddhist values, particularly dana (giving) and karuna (compassion). The use of digital technology, especially online donation platforms, has increased community participation and transparency in the fundraising process. However, the study also identified challenges such as the lack of accountability in managing the funds and the risk of misuse that could undermine public trust. In this context, transparency and active community involvement are essential to building trust and ensuring the effectiveness of religious philanthropy. The study concludes that the sustainability of Buddhist fundraising practices in modern society can be achieved by combining spiritual integrity, good governance, and appropriate technology adaptation. Through this holistic approach, Buddhism-based fundraising can remain relevant and effective in supporting humanitarian activities in the digital age.

Gender equality in the religious sphere in Indonesia is a complex phenomenon, shaped by the interaction between theological doctrines, institutional practices, and the socio-cultural context of each tradition. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review to analyze six major religions in Indonesia: Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, Hindu Dharma, Buddhism, and Confucianism. The analysis focuses on three main dimensions: theological perspectives regarding gender roles and positions, social changes influencing gender relations, and transformations in institutional structures and practices that support gender equality. The findings indicate that historically, women were often placed in subordinate positions due to patriarchal norms, although the core teachings of these religions contain egalitarian principles and recognition of women’s dignity. Contemporary transformations are reflected in the reinterpretation of religious texts and practices that promote gender equality: Catholicism emphasizes the recognition of women’s dignity within the clerical hierarchy; Protestantism opens opportunities for the ordination of female pastors; Islam reinterprets the principles of Qawwamun and family law rights; Balinese Hindu Dharma adjusts women’s roles in rituals and public spheres; Buddhism revives the bhikkhuni order within the sangha; and Confucianism modernizes the interpretation of Wu Lun and San Cong to emphasize mutual responsibilities between husband and wife. In conclusion, despite persistent patriarchal challenges, this study affirms that religion has the potential to act as an agent of social transformation promoting gender equality while maintaining the moral, spiritual, and traditional values distinctive to each tradition. These findings contribute significantly to academic literature, interfaith dialogue, and the development of more gender-inclusive policies.

This study examines the role of digital church music as a medium for evangelism and discipleship within the digital ecosystem. It employs a mixed methods approach using a sequential explanatory design, in which quantitative data collection is followed by qualitative exploration. Quantitative data were gathered through an online survey of at least 200 respondents to measure the intensity of digital worship music consumption, perceived gospel understanding, faith reflection, and spiritual engagement. Qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with 15–20 key informants and digital content analysis of worship songs, service videos, and social media interactions. The findings indicate that digital church music contributes to strengthening gospel understanding, encouraging faith reflection, and expanding discipleship practices through online spaces. A moderate positive correlation between music consumption intensity and spiritual engagement suggests that music functions as a contextual medium for faith formation. This study highlights the importance of adaptive theological and pastoral strategies for church music ministry in the digital era.

Liturgical activities are the center of the Church’s faith life and serve as the primary means of fostering the faith of Catholic communities. However, many parish outstation members still require guidance regarding the order of the Eucharistic Celebration, the roles of liturgical ministers, and the enrichment of liturgical music. This community service activity was carried out at St. Christopher Delawau Outstation, Christ the King Gido Parish, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, by the Dian Mandala Choir group. The purpose of this activity was to introduce the proper order of the Eucharistic Celebration, to socialize Latin Ordinarium songs, and to build a spirit of fraternity in faith. The methods used included the Eucharistic Celebration, liturgical practice, choir training, demonstrations of liturgical duties, and fraternal interaction. The results of the activity indicated improved understanding among the faithful regarding the Eucharistic Celebration, enhanced skills in liturgical ministries (conductor, lector, psalmist, homilist), and the development of emotional closeness as fellow believers. This community service demonstrates that practice-based and dialogical approaches have a positive impact on strengthening the quality of liturgy among outstation communities.
