Prosiding Seminar Nasional Ilmu Teknik 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ilmu Teknik Indonesia

The development of information technology has encouraged restaurants and cafés to function not only as dining places, but also as venues for hosting various events. However, the event reservation process at Rumah Makan Ny. Hartini and Café Rain is still carried out manually through logbooks, telephone calls, and WhatsApp, resulting in problems such as unorganized data, delayed confirmations, and miscommunication with customers. In addition, the manual system limits access to information regarding venue availability, reservation schedules, and additional facilities required by customers. This study aims to develop a web-based event reservation information system using the prototyping method. The system design was carried out using Unified Modeling Language (UML), including use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and class diagrams to model user interactions, process flows, and system structure. The results of the study show that the developed system is able to automate the reservation process, customer data recording, reservation confirmation, schedule management, and additional facilities management. This system improves operational efficiency, data accuracy, and service quality, while also making it easier for customers to make reservations independently and obtain information quickly and accurately.

Nava Rent Car is a car rental service business located in Batam. Many customers have complained about the difficulty in making reservations and obtaining detailed information about the vehicles and services offered. To address this issue, the author designed a more informative, functional, and appealing User Interface (UI) website to support the marketing of services. This design was developed using the Design Thinking method with SWOT analysis techniques. This approach was chosen because it focuses on the user, helping to deeply understand their needs, desires, and problems. The Design Thinking process consists of five steps: empathizing to understand the user's problems, defining the problem, ideating solutions, prototyping, and testing the design for user feedback. The result is a high-fidelity website prototype that illustrates the user flow and measures how well the design meets user needs and provides an optimal experience. Feasibility testing showed positive responses, especially regarding the interface design, clarity of vehicle information, and available features. It is expected that this design will help Nava Rent Car enhance its marketing strategy and expand its business reach.

This study examines the reception of Riau University students regarding sharing culture with the "first person challenge" in @Iben M.A TikTok content. Using Stuart Hall's reception analysis approach with qualitative methodology, this research involved interviews with ten students from diverse faculties. The findings reveal three distinct reception positions: dominant (three informants who fully accept the content as positive sharing culture), negotiated (five informants who accept with reservations about public display of charity), and oppositional (two informants who reject the content as exploitation or virtue signaling). Reception differences were influenced by economic background, religion, parental upbringing, education, interests, and habits. Despite varying interpretations, most informants recognized the content's positive impact while expressing concerns about maintaining the essence of sharing culture in digital media representation..
