This study aims to analyze the influence of Regional Original Revenue (PAD), General Allocation Fund (DAU), Special Allocation Fund (DAK), and Tax Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHP) on Regional Expenditure, as well as to analyze whether the flypaper effect phenomenon occurs in Regencies/Cities in Jambi Province during the 2017-2023 period. The data used in this study is panel data that combines time series data for 7 years and cross-section data from 11 Regencies/Cities in Jambi Province. The analysis method used is panel data regression with the selected model Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results of the study show that simultaneously (F Test), the variables PAD, DAU, DAK, and DBHP have a significant effect on Regional Expenditure. Partially (t Test), PAD and DBHP do not have a positive and significant effect on Regional Expenditure, while DAU and DAK show a positive and significant effect on Regional Expenditure. This study also found a flypaper effect in regencies/cities in Jambi Province. This indicates that regional governments in Jambi Province tend to be more responsive in increasing regional spending using transfer funds from the central government rather than optimizing their own potential Regional Original Revenue (PAD).

One key measure of a region's economic growth is the employment rate, as it reflects the ability of the economy to absorb labor and improve community welfare. In Jambi Province, employment opportunities are influenced by several factors, including Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), population growth, and the Human Development Index (HDI). This study aims to analyze the effects of GRDP, population growth, and HDI on employment growth rates across regencies and cities in Jambi Province. The research employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression analysis covering 11 regencies and cities during the period 2017–2023. The findings indicate that GRDP growth, population growth, and HDI simultaneously influence employment levels. Partially, population growth and HDI have significant effects on employment, indicating that improvements in human development and demographic dynamics contribute to labor absorption. Meanwhile, economic growth, as measured by GRDP, has a relatively small negative effect on employment. This suggests that economic expansion does not always generate proportional employment opportunities, possibly due to structural changes and technological developments. Therefore, policies aimed at improving human capital and labor market conditions are essential to support sustainable employment growth in Jambi Province.

This study is motivated by the importance of economic growth as a key indicator of regional development performance and public welfare improvement. Economic growth reflects the ability of local governments to manage resources and implement effective fiscal policies. This research aims to analyze the development and the influence of Local Own-Source Revenue, General Allocation Fund, and Special Allocation Fund on the economic growth of regencies/cities in Jambi Province during the period 2020–2024. The study employs a quantitative approach combined with descriptive analysis. Secondary data are obtained from official publications of relevant institutions and analyzed using panel data regression with the Common Effect Model approach. The results indicate that Local Own-Source Revenue and the General Allocation Fund have a significant effect on economic growth, showing that the increase in regional revenue and fiscal transfers contributes to economic performance. Meanwhile, the Special Allocation Fund does not have a significant effect, indicating that its allocation may not be optimally utilized in stimulating regional economic activities. These findings imply that strengthening regional fiscal capacity and improving the effectiveness of fund allocation are essential to promote sustainable economic growth. The study also highlights the need for better policy coordination and efficient financial management at the regional level to reduce disparities and enhance development outcomes.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of Izhar Majid’s election, as he successfully maintained his position as a legislative member in Jambi Province and achieved a significant victory in his constituency despite intense political competition. His success is notable because he does not come from a political family, lacks elite family connections, and was still able to maintain his voter base after switching political parties. This condition raises questions about how he utilized political capital to gain public support. The study aims to analyze the forms, strategies, and utilization of political capital in winning political contests. Using political capital theory, this descriptive qualitative research collected primary data through interviews and secondary data from documentation, literature, and official election results. The findings show that his success was driven by the optimization of integrated political capital. Social capital was built through strong networks with community leaders and voter groups. Symbolic capital emerged from his positive image and reputation. Economic capital supported structured campaign activities. Combined with direct public engagement and targeted communication media, these factors significantly increased his visibility and electability.

This study develops an interpretable machine learning model to predict the settlement status of Hajj fees in Jambi Province, Indonesia. Utilizing the XGBoost algorithm on a dataset of 4,332 prospective pilgrims from 2025, the research addresses the critical challenge of class imbalance where only 28.5% of samples are labeled "Unsettled". The baseline XGBoost model achieved a ROC-AUC of 0.7778, with a recall of 0.3482 for the minority class. SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) analysis was employed to interpret model predictions, revealing that financial features specifically NILAI_VA (Virtual Account Value), JML_SETORAN (Deposit Amount), and JML_PELUNASAN (Settlement Amount) are the most significant factors influencing repayment risk, with negative SHAP values indicating increased default probability. The findings demonstrate that an interpretable XGBoost framework can provide both predictive accuracy and actionable insights for policymakers, enabling targeted interventions such as flexible payment schemes and enhanced financial monitoring for high-risk pilgrims..

Kajian Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Terapan 2025 Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia

Poverty is still a major problem in regional economic development in Jambi Province, although economic growth has been relatively stable in recent years. This condition shows that economic growth has not been fully followed by an equitable distribution of development results. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth and income inequality on the poverty rate in Jambi Province. The research uses a quantitative approach with district/city panel data for the 2015–2024 period sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis was carried out using the panel data regression method to test the relationship between economic growth variables, income inequality, and poverty levels. The results of the study show that economic growth measured through the growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) has a negative effect on the poverty rate, meaning that increasing economic growth can reduce the number of poor people. On the other hand, income inequality measured by the Gini Ratio has a positive effect on poverty levels, which means that the higher the income inequality, the greater the poverty rate. These findings indicate that poverty reduction strategies not only require sustainable economic growth, but must also be accompanied by income equity policies so that the benefits of development can be felt more inclusively by all levels of society.

This study analyzes how strategi politik identitas is systematically used by K.H. Rifa’i, S.H. in winning the 2024 Provincial DPRD Election of Jambi in the Bungo–Tebo Electoral District. The main issue of this research stems from the strong influence of identitas keagamaan in the political behavior of Jambi’s majority Muslim society, making religious figures occupy a strategic position in electoral contests. This study aims to explain the process of mobilizing identitas keagamaan, utilizing social networks based on pesantren, and constructing a religious image as political capital that contributes to electoral victory. The analysis integrates the concepts of politik identitas and voter behavior as a foundation to understand how collective identity and psychological perceptions of society work in determining political preferences. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, using interviews, observation, and document analysis as the main data collection techniques. The results show that identitas keagamaan, jaringan pesantren, relationships with local religious groups, and the use of religious symbols become determining factors that shape emotional closeness and political trust among the community. This strategy enabled K.H. Rifa’i to obtain the highest votes and outperform the incumbent candidate. The contribution of this research lies in a comprehensive mapping of how politik identitas operates within a local religious political context, and how this strategy can alter electoral configurations and political support patterns at the regional level.

The implementation of online zakat payments by BAZNAS Jambi Province faced several challenges, including suboptimal use of the Simba application due to system errors. Additionally, there was a lack of public trust in online zakat payments, insufficient public literacy on the matter, and inadequate socialization and education from BAZNAS Jambi regarding the online payment process. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection via interviews. To optimize digital zakat management, BAZNAS Jambi implemented a strategy involving both their website and the SIMBA system, offering two digital payment options: transfers and QRIS codes. They also pursued partnerships with companies and promoted zakat payments through social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Google Ads, Meta Ads, as well as TVRI and RRI television. However, there were challenges, including human resource limitations at BAZNAS Jambi, which resulted in delays when verifying factual data. Additionally, high IT operational costs limited the effectiveness of SIMBA and the website. The coordination issues, including both functional and institutional coordination, were also identified as significant problems. To address these challenges, BAZNAS Jambi has been working on solutions such as community education, socializing zakat management with the public and local government agencies (OPDs), and improving internal coordination.
