Background: The elderly are said to have a risk of developing various degenerative diseases, one of which is hypertension. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2023 the prevalence of 1.28 billion people with hypertension aged 30-79 years. The prevalence of hypertension at Sibela Health Center in 2022 was 12,447 hypertensive patients with the highest incidence rate in Surakarta City, One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be given to elderly hypertensive patients is progressive muscle relaxation. Objective: Describe the results of blood pressure comparison before and after the application of Progressive Muscle Relaxation in the elderly. Method: This study used a descriptive research design with a case study approach by observing blood pressure in 2 elderly respondents, carried out 2x a day for 3 consecutive days within 15 minutes. The instruments used were observation sheets, Blood Pressure Monitors, and stopwatches. Results: There is a decrease in blood pressure after giving Progressive Muscle Relaxation to Mrs. D from grade 1 hypertension to normal and in Mrs. S from grade 2 hypertension to grade 1 hypertension. Conclusion: The application of progressive muscle relaxation therapy can potentially reduce blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension in both respondents.

Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD) is a progressive and irreversible disease characterized by a decrease in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR). In this disease, uremia impairs the kidney's ability to maintain metabolism and water and electrolyte balance. Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms in patients undergoing hemodialysis which impacts quality of life. Progressive muscle relaxation is a type of non-pharmacological nursing intervention that can be used to treat fatigue in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. The aim of this research is to determine the application of progressive muscle relaxation therapy to fatigue in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. The research design used is a case report. The instrument used to measure the level of fatigue is the Functional Assessment Chronic Illness Therapy (FACIT) fatigue scale. The intervention was carried out for ten to fifteen minutes over three days in the hospital hemodialysis unit and four days at the patient's home. Evaluation of respondents' level of fatigue was carried out on days 1, 5, and 8. The results of this study showed that the fatigue level score after intervention on day 1 was 16 (severe category), the score on day 5 was 20 (moderate category), and day 8 was 24 (moderate category). It can be concluded that progressive muscle relaxation therapy can reduce fatigue in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. The results of this research can be applied independently by nurses for CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis to reduce fatigue levels.

The proportion of the elderly population is increasing every year, and the elderly are experiencing various changes, both in physical, mental and social aspects. The elderly are residents aged over 60 years. Elderly people often experience various psychological problems such as loneliness, isolation, helplessness, lack of self-confidence, post-power syndrome, anxiety disorders and depression. Depression is a mood disorder that can cause prolonged feelings of sadness and persistent loss of interest, characterized by prolonged sadness, mood swings, and lack of interest in activities. The tool used to measure the level of depression in this case report uses the GDS (Geriatric Depression Scale) instrument. In this case report, the results of an assessment of one 66 year old client were obtained with a GDS score of 11 which indicated moderate depression. Management of depression can use pharmacological or non-pharmacological therapy. This case report refers to the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) using progressive muscle relaxation (ROP). The ROP intervention was carried out at BPSTW Abiyoso Wisma Talkondo for seven days with three evaluations. The results obtained were that the client experienced a decrease in the level of depression with a score of 5, namely mild depression. It can be concluded that ROP is effective in reducing depression levels in the elderly.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood sugar due to decreased insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells or insulin resistance. Difficulty controlling blood sugar levels is a problem experienced by every person with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Several reasons cause uncontrolled blood sugar levels, such as the patient not wanting to exercise, poor diet and negligence in treatment. Management of diabetes mellitus can be done with non-pharmacological therapy in the form of physical exercise. Physical activity will make the body's metabolism work more optimally which will result in blood glucose levels being controlled so that holistic treatment is needed. One of the non-pharmacological physical exercise therapies that can be given to diabetes mellitus sufferers is progressive muscle relaxation techniques. Research method: Implementing Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients to reduce Blood Glucose Levels. Research results: The results of implementation and evaluation for 3 days with Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy intervention showed objective and subjective changes in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients as well as changes in blood glucose levels before and after being given Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy. Conclusion: There is a decrease in Blood Glucose Levels after Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy.

The poor quality of sleep in the elderly is caused by increased sleep latency, reduced sleep efficiency and early awakening due to the aging process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on insomnia in the elderly in posbindu, patikraja village. This type of research is one group pretest-posttest with pre-experimental. The sample size used in this study was 19 respondents. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire. The statistical test used in this study was the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test with 0.05. The results of this study note that there are differences before and after being given progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The results of the analysis of the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test obtained a p value of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there is an effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on changes in insomnia in the elderly in Posbindu, Patikraja Village.
