Student organizations in schools play an important role as social institutions that support character building and the development of students’ social and leadership skills. However, in practice, many students still perceive school organizations merely as formal or administrative activities, resulting in low participation and limited understanding of their educational value. This condition highlights the need for socialization activities that emphasize meaningful organizational learning. This community service activity aims to strengthen students’ understanding of the role of school organizations as social learning spaces. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving 30 eleventh-grade students at SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Boyolali. Data were collected through observation, discussion notes, and students’ responses during interactive sessions. The activity was conducted through teacher coordination, material preparation, material presentation, and discussion and question-and-answer sessions. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of the functions and benefits of student organizations as social institutions. Students showed increased awareness of the importance of cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and communication, as well as greater motivation to actively participate in school organizations. These findings suggest that participatory and dialogical socialization is effective in promoting meaningful organizational learning and supporting students’ character development.

This community service program aims to enhance the smart communication skills of young learners at SD Muhammadiyah 5 and 11 Banjarmasin through structured educational socialization and mentoring activities. The program was initiated in response to the low level of awareness among elementary school students regarding the importance of effective communication in supporting academic development and interpersonal relationships. The implementation consisted of several stages, including interactive socialization sessions, practical communication exercises, group discussions, and ice-breaking activities designed to build confidence and engagement. Evaluation results showed a notable improvement in students’ speaking, listening, and peer interaction abilities. Students demonstrated clearer articulation, better turn-taking in conversations, and increased willingness to participate in class activities. In addition, positive behavioral changes were observed, including improved self-confidence and more respectful communication patterns. These outcomes indicate that the smart communication-based character education approach is effective in strengthening students’ social and emotional development, particularly in early education environments. Overall, this program proves that targeted communication training can play a crucial role in fostering essential life skills among elementary school students.

This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of disaster archival document management and strengthen financial governance within the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) in Palangka Raya City. Orderly, systematic, and accountable archive management is a crucial factor in supporting a rapid, precise, and coordinated disaster response. Furthermore, transparent and efficient financial governance is the foundation for program sustainability and public trust in the organization. This training program is designed to provide MDMC administrators and volunteers with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, procedures, and best practices in disaster archive management and organizational finances. The implementation method includes presentations through interactive lectures combined with group discussions to identify real-world problems and solutions. Participants also have the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice, such as compiling disaster archival documents, managing archive databases, and creating simple financial reports in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards. Furthermore, this training introduces national regulations related to archiving and data protection, ensuring that practices are aligned with statutory provisions. The results of the training demonstrated an increased understanding of the participants regarding the importance of archive management and financial governance, as evidenced by their ability to systematically organize documents and present accountable financial reports. It is hoped that, after the training, participants will be able to consistently apply these principles in MDMC's operational activities. This will create a well-organized documentation system, accountable financial management, and an MDMC institution that is increasingly professional, effective, and responsive to community needs in emergency situations. This activity is a strategic step to strengthen MDMC's role as the vanguard in disaster management at the local and national levels.
