Cashew leaves or also called monkey guava are known by many people, especially in Southeast Sulawesi and are believed to have a number of health benefits but are still rarely known by some people. This study aims to determine the profile of secondary metabolite content and determine the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of cashew leaves (Anacardium occidentale Linn) using the extraction method by maceration. The extraction process of old cashew leaves is carried out by the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent for 3 days of soaking and stirring every 24 hours, then concentration is carried out through the evaporation process. Phytochemical testing includes identification of alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, tannins, steroids/triterpenoids and saponins, as well as testing antioxidant activity using the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl). The results showed that the extract of cashew leaves (Anacardium occidentale Linn) strongly positive contains phenolic compounds, flavonoids, steroids and saponins. Based on the results of the IC50 calculation, 96% ethanol extract has the highest antioxidant activity at a concentration of 14.35 ppm (µg/mL) with a very high category. The content of secondary metabolites and very high antioxidant activity from the results obtained, explain that cashew nuts have the potential to increase body immunity and can be used in various antioxidant food products so that cashew leaves are more economically valuable for the community.

Takokak fruit contains bioactive compounds that can be used as antidiabetics. This study aims to identify bioactive compounds of ethanol extract of takokak fruit and antidiabetic test of n-Hexane fraction. The method used to obtain the extract is maceration using ethanol . Antidiabetic testing is carried out through in vivo testing with the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) method on white rats. Secondary metabolites are compounds contained in taakokak fruit that are identified as flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids and terpenoids . The results of the antidiabetic test showed that the n-Hexane fraction with glibencamide as a comparator has the ability as an antidiabetic in terms of the amount of difference in blood glucose levels in the test animal group from T 30 to T 120 . The average decrease in blood glucose levels in the negative control group (Na-CMC) was 108.67 mg/dL, the positive control group ( glibencamide ) 174.67 mg/dL, the 5% concentration fraction group 35.33 mg/dL, the 10% concentration fraction group 30.67 mg/dL, the 20% concentration fraction group 47.67 mg/dL.

Purple corn is one of the corn varieties that is being developed by Indonesia as a form of food diversification. The purple color of corn is produced by the high presence of anthocyanins so it can provide health benefits such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, mutagenic, anti-cancer and anti-angiogenesis. To ensure that the bioactive components are not damaged, extraction is carried out in stages by applying the maceration method using a polar solvent with the correct ethanol content of 96%. Apart from using the appropriate solvent, the length of maceration time will determine the results of the extract obtained. This research aims to find out how long maceration affects the content of bioactive compounds found in purple corn. The research used a completely randomized design with one treatment, namely maceration times of 12, 24 and 48 hours. The tests carried out included color intensity, total phenol and anthocyanin content and antioxidant activity. The research findings explain that the length of maceration has a significant effect on color intensity, total phenols and antioxidant activity of purple corn extract. 2 hour maceration was the best treatment in extracting bioactive compounds, namely total phenols of 206.29 g/100 g, total anthocyanins of 0.19 g/100 g and antioxidant activity of 58.80%.

Mask is a facial care cosmetic that functions to cleanse dirt from the face, such as removing dead skin cells, cleaning skin pores, reducing excess oil, and alleviating skin irritation. This study combines gambir and papaya leaves as a mask, aiming to provide comprehensive benefits for the facial skin, including combating aging, addressing acne, and maintaining skin elasticity. Qualitative and descriptive methods were employed in this research to determine the pH, flavonoid, and alkaloid content (laboratory tests). The research began by soaking gambir and papaya leaf powder in 96% ethanol for three days, followed by filtration of the maceration results, yielding extracts 1, 2, and 3, which were then concentrated using a rotary evaporator. The thick extract was then formulated into a peel-off mask according to predetermined formulations. The results of the flavonoid, alkaloid, and pH tests showed concentrations of F1=5.75, F2=5.45, and F3=5.32, with flavonoid tests for F1, F2, and F3 being positive for flavonoids, and alkaloid.

Objective: To review the literature on the use of banana plants (Musa paradisiaca L.) in Indonesia. Method: A systematic search was carried out to identify relevant articles in 3 bases, namely (Google Scholars, research.gate, and Pubmed). Both include the product produced, how it is made, the contents of the banana plant samples and the evaluation of the product so that it can be accepted by society. Data analysis is based on a checklist prism with specified criteria Results: Five journals were selected because they included the desired review journal criteria. All types of products play an important role with different types of preparations and also different properties and ingredients. Conclusion: There are not many articles that discuss cosmetic products from banana plants, therefore this article was chosen to find out the contents of the banana plant samples. Most are from the skin of the banana, but some are also from the stem of the banana. Apart from that, one article discusses various benefits or parts of the banana plant which can be used as a basic ingredient for cosmetics. The content of secondary metabolites in banana plants, such as the main flavonoids, functions as an antioxidant which is much sought after in natural cosmetic products from this banana plant. Extraction was carried out for all preparations using the maceration method with ethanol solvent. And evaluation tests show that all articles conclude that all parts of the plant are capable of meeting standards to be formulated into cosmetic preparations.

Pear skin contains flavonoids which have potential as antioxidants. Considering the existence of humans as social creatures, interacting with each other requires self-confidence to be well accepted. For this reason, humans need self-care to appear charming, attractive and full of self-confidence. Masks are a type of cosmetic treatment that is well known and widely used. The mask works deeply to remove dead horn cells on the skin. This research aimed to determine the potential antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of pear peel (Pyrus bretschneideri) which was formulated as a sheet mask preparation. Extraction was carried out by maceration using 96% ethanol to obtain pear peel extract. The antioxidant activity test method was carried out using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. The results obtained from the concentration of the sheet mask preparation of pear peel extract (Phyrus bretschneideri) were homogeneous and stable. The pH results obtained from F0 (5,1), F1 (5,4), F2 (5,5), F3 (5,6), are still within the safe range of facial skin pH. The results of the antioxidant activity test showed that the IC50 value for F1 was 84.58 ppm with intensity (Strong), F2 69.96 ppm with intensity (Strong), and F3 63.79 ppm with intensity (Strong).

Dandruff is one of the problems that cause a lack of confidence. The triggering microorganism is Candida albicans. The innovation in the skin of red dragon fruit has the potential as an antibacterial and antifungal because it contains several active compounds such as alkaloids, terpenoids and flavonoids. This study aims to find out at what concentration the anti-dandruff activity on the growth of Candida albicans fungus in the formulation of dragon fruit peel extract shampoo preparation (Hylocereus polyrhizus). This research method is an experimental research using the disc paper diffusion method which consists of making dragon fruit peel extract with the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The extract is formulated in shampoo with concentrations of 20.40 and 80%. The results of this study were in the organoleptis test in the form of a viscous liquid, soft sticky texture, brown and menthol flavor. pH test 6.13, 6.71, 6.39, 5.49. Test the height of the foam 5.8cm, 6.0cm, 6.5cm, 10.3cm. Viscosity test 500 Cp, 612 Cp, 635 Cp, 624 Cp. Homogeneity test is homogeneous. Anti-dandruff shampoo activity test of kontro (+), control (-), concentration of 20%, 40%, 80% with an average of 21.95 mm, 0.00 mm, 22.9 mm, 26.07 mm, 28.52 mm. The conclusion of this study is that the formulation of dragon fruit peel extract shampoo (Hylocereus polyrhizus) has provided an inhibitory effect on the growth of Candida albicans fungus with the strongest inhibitory concentration produced in formulation III with a concentration of 80% of 28.52 mm.

. Avocado seeds are one of the plants used as a medicine for diabetes mellitus with the Latin name (Persea americana Mill.). Avocado seeds contain compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and triterpenoids which are beneficial for health. This study aims to determine the effect of avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill.) on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in diabetic wounds using the disc diffusion method. The extraction process is by maceration using 96% ethanol. The treatment was repeated 4 times with extract concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, as a positive control Ciprofloxacin and DMSO (Dimetyl Sulfoxide) as a negative control. The results of phytochemical screening show that avocado seeds contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and triterpenoids. Based on the results of research conducted, avocado seed extract can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria as an inhibition zone is formed. The most effective concentration in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria is at 100% concentration of 10.14 mm.

Introduction : Indonesia is country that passed by the equator causing sunlight intensity increase that causes skin problems. Sunscreen is a cosmetic which used to protect skin from sun exposure. Kawista stem bark (Limonia acidissima Groff) has a flavonoid dan phenolic as UV protector. This study analyzed SPF values of ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, etil acetate fraction, water fraction and sunscreen cream. Method : Spesific and non spesific standardization of ethanolic extract. Extraction using maceration method with 96% ethanol. The suncreen cream were made in 2% (F1), 4% (F2) and 6% (F3) concentration. Physical characteristics has tested include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility and adhesion and viscosity. Oneway ANOVA and kruskall wallis test statistic analysis. Oneway ANOVA and kruskall wallis test statistic analysis. Result : SPF values on F1 is 3,63 (minimal protection); F2 is 7,53 (Extra protection) and F3 is 15, 43 (Ultra protection). Conclusion : All three cream formula has a different significant SPF values (p < 0,05). The suncreen cream fulfilled the requirements of physical characteristics.

Indtoduction : Free radicals that come from sunlight can cause cell damage and death because they are carcinogenic. SPF is the effectiveness of a sunscreen in protecting the skin from the sun. Kawista stem bark (Limonia acidissima Groff) has potential as a sunscreen. Purpose: to analyze the SPF value of ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction. Method :  Extraction by maceration method with 96% ethanol and fractionation by liquid-liquid extraction method. Phytochemical screening. SPF analysis by spectrophotometric method with the Mansur equation. One-way ANOVA statistical analysis. Results: The SPF values ​​of ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction, water fraction and n-hexane fraction respectively along with sunscreen protection categories were SPF 12.77 (maximum protection), SPF 11.77 (maximum protection), SPF 11.67 ( maximum protection) and SPF 7.146 (extra protection). Conclusion: The highest SPF value was found in ethanol extract as a semi-polar solvent. The lowest SPF value was obtained in the n-hexane fraction as a non-polar solvent.

Secondary metabolites are compounds produced by plants, microorganisms and animals through the process of biosynthesis or derivatives from primary metabolites. The maceration method is a simple way to separate bioactive compounds from plant material. Guava leaves contain secondary metabolite compounds which have medicinal effects such as antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. This simplicia leaf is soaked in 96% ethanol (using the maceration method) for 24 hours and concentrated using a rotary evaporator. Alkaloid, flavonoid and saponin tests show that guava leaves contain these three compounds. These compounds have potential for development in the pharmaceutical field.

Gangrenous wounds are wounds that occur due to diabetes complications caused by nerve damage and poor blood circulation which makes diabetic wounds unable to prevent infection. Infection is caused by the growth of microbes. High levels of sugar in the blood of DM sufferers provide food for microbes to reproduce. One of the bacteria that causes gangrene is Staphylococcus aureus. Plants that can be used as antibacterials are cherry leaves, also known as seri (Muntingia calabura L.), which contain tannins, terpenoids, saponins, flavonoids and polyphenols. This research aims to identify the antibacterial activity of cherry leaf extract against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria from DM wound wipes. This research was carried out in an experimental laboratory by applying the disc diffusion research method. The resistance is measured through the clear zone that extends around the paper disc. Kersen leaf extract was obtained through a maceration process with 96% ethanol solvent to obtain a thick extract of 0.074%. The test concentrations used were 12.5%, 25%, 50% and 75%. Positive control tetracycline 500 mg and negative control DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide). The results of this research show that Kersen leaf extract inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in diabetic wounds. In concentrations of 12.5%, 25%, 50%, and 75%, the average diameter obtained was 2.70 mm, 4.67 mm, 6.30 mm, 7.89 mm. Conclusion: the effect of ethanol extract of cherry leaves on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in diabetic wounds is antibacterial.

As a tropical country, Indonesia has many types of biodiversity, including plants that are spread throughout Indonesia, approximately as many as 40,000 species with 7,500 species of which can be used as medicinal plants which are applied for medical needs and biological and chemical research. One of the topics discussed in this journal is the gotu kola leaf, known as the Latin name (centella asiatica). This plant contains tannins, flavonoids, vitamin A and vitamin C with various properties including accelerating the wound healing process, other benefits such as improving brain and nerve function. It should be noted that this efficacy is due to the presence of secondary metabolites in the gotu kola leaf and to find out, alkaloid, flavonoid, and saponin tests were carried out using dried gotu kola leaves and then divided into two bottles of 200 ml of methanol and N-hexane solution and then macerated for 3 days. . After the maceration process is complete, a thick extract of gotu kola leaves is produced and then continued with testing for alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins which will later get results that aim to be the first step to determine secondary metabolite compounds and be useful as information on the utilization of the efficacy of gotu kola leaves as well as research in biology and chemistry.

Staphylococcus aureus infection  is one of the causes of increasing number of diseases and deaths. It is estimated that currently around 2-3% of the general population has MRSA in their bodies. People with MRSA on their bodies are estimated to have a 64% higher chance of dying. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of red guava leaves against Staphylocoocus aureus bacteria  and to determine the amount of inhibition of methanol extract from red guava leaves against the activity of Staphylocoocus aureus bacteria. This type of research is experimental research The object of this study is the inhibitory power of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria  in methanol extract of red guava leaves. The sample used in this study was methanol extract of red guava leaves. This research was conducted using maceration extraction method with the solvent used is methanol. The measurement results showed that red guava leaf methanol extract at concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% had an inhibitory zone on the antibacterial activity of Staphylococus aureus. The greatest bland result at a concentration of 50% of 0.49 mm. The lowest inhibitory power is at a concentration of 75% of 0.26 mm.

The use of antibiotics can cause drug resistance if their use is not appropriate, so alternative treatment from plants is needed, one of which is soursop leaves (Annona muricata L.). Chemical substances contained in soursop leaves can prevent development until they can kill bacteria, one of which is flavonoids. The purpose of this study was to determine whether soursop leaf methanol extract (Annona muricata L.) at concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and can determine at what concentration soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L.) can effectively inhibit Staphylococcus aureus. The simplisia extract was done by maceration strategy using methanol as a solvent. The antibacterial testing method uses the disc diffusion method and uses clindamycin as a positive control and distilled water as a negative control. The results showed that Annona muricata L. extract can provide antibacterial action at concentration variants of 25%, 50% and 75% which is characterized by the presence of transparent areas with an average diameter of 8.97mm, 11.36 mm and 13.3mm respectively with positive control with a diameter of 23.25 and negative control with a diameter of 0 mm. Soursop leaf methanol extract (Annona muricata L.) is able to suppress the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with the most effective concentration variant of 75%.

African leaf plants (Vernonia amygdalina Del.) is one of tradisional medicine and has pharmacological contain secondary metabolite such as Flavonoids, Saponin, Tanin and Alkaloid. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of African leaf extract (Vernonia amygdalina Del.) in handsoap formulation on the growth of Escherichia coli. African left extract was obtained from maceration process with ethanol and phytochrmical screening was carried out.This study uses concentration of 0,5%, 1% and 2%. Antibacterial activity testing using scratch and disc diffusion methods. Tis study also evaluated the pyshical quality of the preparation which included organoleptic observation, homogeneity test, high foam test and antibacterial activity test. Antibacterial activity testing using scratch and disc disfusion methods. African pyctochemical screening was carried out. The result showed that the percentage of African leaf extract yield was 24,958%. The pH test gets a pH of 10-11 and 5-6 cm foam height test. The highest concentration of positive control of preparation containing alcohol (Dettol) with an average number og 4,72 mm ± 1,45 mm. Liquid soap preparation 1% with a diameter of inhibition of 3,93 mm ± 1,97 mm. The result of this study inhibit the growth of Eshcherichia coli bacteria.

The trunk of the kepok banana tree contains flavonoids that have activity as a sunscreen that can protect the skin from the adverse effects of UV rays. This study aims to formulate and determine the SPF value of the cream preparation of banana kepok tree tree extract (Musa paradisiaca L) which meets the requirements of good physical quality as a sunscreen. The method used is experimental research consisting of making maceration method extracts with 70% ethanol solvent. The resulting extract is formulated with a cream base formula with extract concentrations of 30% and 40%. The study was analyzed using ANOVA test and SPSS software. The results showed that the formulation of sunscreen cream extract of banana kepok tree trunk extract (Musa paradisiaca L) with concentrations of 30% and 40% showed good physical quality with the effectiveness of SPF at concentrations of 30% and 40% was 3.1 and 4.7 in the moderate protection category without any reference or formula. Based on the results of the article's research, it was concluded that the extract of the banana kepok tree trunk (Musa paradisiaca L) which was formulated as a cream has good physical quality as a sunscreen and based on the ANOVA test, one factor showed a difference in concentration affecting the SPF value obtained.

Nutmeg seeds are one of the herbs and spices that are rich in benefits and the content of alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins other very important roles in its utilization. Nutmeg seeds contain trimyristin which its content can be used in the manufacture of liquid bath soap. One of the application of the compound contained is made in the form pHarmaceutical preparations. Liquid soap is made through a saponification reaction from oil and fat reacted with KOH. This research. aim to do optimization of liquid soap formula between concentration variations of 8%, 9%, 10% so can find out the optimum liquid soap formula and know the evaluation of properties pHysics and chemistry of preparations. Nutmeg seed extract is obtained by extraction using the maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent, then carried out evaporation using a rotary evaporator instrument until the extract is obtained thick. Formulation of liquid soap by heating method for 45 minutes. Evaluation preparations include organoleptic observations, homogeneity. pH, foam height. Results showed that the liquid soap formulated from elstract: colored nutmeg brownish, has a characteristic odor of nutmeg seed extract, is in the form of a homogeneous liquid, has a pH pH 8-10, foam height 93mm-139mm. Optimum formula based on results showed no significant difference from all formulas. Variation concentration 8%, 9%, 10% pH test and high foam test. the formula has complied requirements in accordance with the standards set by SNI 06-4085-1996. Where the normal pH of liquid soap is ph 8-11 and the high foam of liquid soap is 13mm-220mm
