Urban plant care is increasingly important for sustainable living, but many users face inconsistent watering, insufficient care knowledge, unsuitable plant selection and delayed disease recognition. This study presents Easy Grow Plants, an integrated web and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem that connects plant care guidance, soil-moisture monitoring, automated watering, plant recommendation, image-based plant health assistance, marketplace functions, community interaction and plant exchange. The prototype was implemented using a React frontend, Django REST backend, SQLite database and an Arduino UNO R4 WiFi smart pot with a soil moisture sensor, relay module and DC water pump. Functional, interface, API, IoT connectivity, sensor calibration, watering control and LAN deployment tests were conducted. The results show that the core modules operated together as an integrated academic prototype. The system demonstrates a practical foundation for smart urban gardening, although cloud deployment, multi-device testing and stronger AI validation remain future improvements

Knee septic arthritis is an orthopedic emergency that requires prompt and appropriate management to prevent permanent joint damage and systemic complications. Inflammatory markers such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) are commonly used for diagnosis and monitoring of treatment response; however, their prognostic value after surgical debridement remains variable. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the role of ESR, CRP, and platelet count as prognostic indicators following irrigation and/or surgical debridement in patients with knee septic arthritis. A literature search was conducted in January using PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, SpringerLink, and Semantic Scholar, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Study quality was assessed using the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) tools. Fifteen studies meeting the inclusion criteria were qualitatively analyzed. The findings indicate that elevated preoperative CRP levels and delayed postoperative CRP reduction are associated with unfavorable clinical outcomes, including failure of infection eradication and the need for repeat debridement. Although ESR is consistently elevated during the acute phase, its slower decline limits its short-term prognostic utility. Platelet count may increase as part of the systemic inflammatory response but shows inconsistent prognostic value.

Poor soil quality and inefficient nutrient utilization remain major constraints in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) cultivation, often resulting in reduced plant growth, lower productivity, and suboptimal fruit quality. This study aims to evaluate the growth performance of rose tomatoes through the integration of open-field cultivation and hydroponic planting systems. The research methods included land preparation using the Pythagorean technique to ensure proper spacing and planting layout, the application of organic fertilizers to improve soil fertility, and the transition to a hydroponic drip irrigation system using rockwool as the growing medium during weeks 1 to 7 of plant development. Plant growth parameters, including plant height, leaf development, stem vigor, and overall plant health, were observed throughout the cultivation period. The results indicated that the combination of appropriate soil management practices and precise nutrient delivery in the hydroponic system significantly enhanced nutrient uptake and supported healthy plant growth. Furthermore, the drip irrigation system helped optimize water use efficiency while reducing nutrient losses. This integrated cultivation approach demonstrated its potential as an effective solution for maintaining crop quality and productivity, particularly in areas with limited land resources. Overall, the findings suggest that integrated management practices can provide a practical, efficient, and sustainable strategy for farmers seeking to improve horticultural production in modern agricultural systems.

Perkembangan teknologi mendorong penerapan sistem otomatis dalam bidang pertanian, termasuk pada proses penyiraman tanaman. Kelembapan tanah merupakan faktor penting yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman, namun pada Persemaian RBC Perhutani BKPH Bawang, penyiraman masih dilakukan secara manual sehingga berpotensi tidak terkontrol dan menyebabkan kelebihan air. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem monitoring serta penyiraman tanaman otomatis berbasis ESP8266 dengan sensor kelembapan tanah. Sistem ini menggunakan sensor kelembapan tanah sebagai input, ESP8266 sebagai pengendali utama, relay untuk mengontrol pompa air, modul RTC sebagai penjadwalan, serta aplikasi Blynk untuk monitoring jarak jauh. Metode penelitian meliputi perancangan, pembuatan, dan pengujian sistem. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu bekerja dengan baik, di mana pompa aktif saat kelembapan tanah di bawah 60% V/V dan berhenti saat di atas 60% V/V, serta dapat melakukan penyiraman terjadwal dua kali sehari. Sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi dalam penyiraman tanaman.

Floods are the most frequent hydrometeorological disasters in Indonesia and significantly contribute to increased trauma cases and disruption of healthcare services, particularly in vulnerable regions such as Aceh Province. These conditions are exacerbated by limited resources, damaged health facilities, and restricted access to referral centers. This study aims to examine the implementation of early emergency surgical management during flood disasters based on damage control surgery principles and international guidelines. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through a literature review combined with field observations conducted during the emergency response phase of flood disasters in Bireuen Regency. Data were collected from direct clinical observations, brief interviews with healthcare providers, and documentation of trauma cases requiring early surgical intervention. The results indicate that effective patient stabilization can be achieved despite limited resources through airway, breathing, and circulation (ABC) management, hemorrhage control, wound irrigation, and fracture immobilization using simple and improvised equipment. Approximately 90% of patients were successfully stabilized prior to referral to definitive healthcare facilities. In conclusion, adaptive and timely application of damage control surgery principles plays a crucial role in saving lives and strengthening emergency surgical response during flood disasters.

Atrophic rhinitis or ozena is a chronic infection of the nasal cavity characterized by progressive atrophy of the nasal mucosa and turbinate bones accompanied by the formation of foul-smelling nasal crusts. This condition is more commonly found in females, particularly during puberty, and is frequently associated with populations of low socioeconomic status and poor environmental sanitation. The exact etiology of atrophic rhinitis remains unclear; however, several factors are believed to contribute, including chronic infection by *Klebsiella ozaenae*, vitamin A and iron deficiency, chronic sinusitis, hormonal imbalance, collagen diseases, trauma, and genetic predisposition. Common clinical manifestations include nasal obstruction, thick greenish nasal discharge, crust formation, epistaxis, anosmia, and *foetor ex nasi*, which is often more noticeable to people around the patient. Anterior rhinoscopy typically reveals widened nasal cavities, turbinate atrophy, thin and dry nasal mucosa, as well as purulent secretions and greenish crusts. Diagnosis is established through history taking, ENT physical examination, and supporting investigations such as microbiological culture, histopathological examination, radiological imaging, and paranasal sinus CT-scan. Management may be conservative with antibiotics, nasal irrigation, nasal drops, vitamin A supplementation, and iron preparations, or surgical in severe cases or those unresponsive to conservative therapy.

Rice plants (Oryza Sativa L.) are the main staple food commodity in Indonesia, as most of the Indonesian population relies on rice as their primary food. One of the causes of low rice production in Indonesia is that farmers generally cultivate rice improperly, such as in land preparation or land selection. Land suitability in rice cultivation greatly affects crop productivity. A process that can support decisions regarding rice land suitability is the development of a Decision Support System (DSS) website using a combination of the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method and the Technique for Order Performance of Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). This combination is performed by taking the average (µ) of the final results from the SAW and TOPSIS methods. The final scores of each method are calculated separately, and then the average (µ) of these two results is taken to obtain the final ranking of the alternatives. The data used to determine the suitability of rice land is based on five criteria: soil type, soil pH, rainfall, temperature, irrigation and water supply. The alternative data used in the study includes six alternatives: Sungai Kunjang, Sambutan, Samarinda Utara, Palaran, Loa Janan Ilir, and Samarinda Seberang. The aim of this research is to provide information on alternative solutions to farmers or farmer groups in determining rice land suitability. The results of the combination of the SAW and TOPSIS methods show that the alternative with the highest final score is Samarinda Utara (A3), with a final score of 0.7337. Meanwhile, the alternative with the lowest final score is Sambutan (A2), with a final score of 0.4402.

The development of rural economies based on locally superior commodities is an integral part of inclusive and sustainable development strategies. Sumberdem located in Wonosari Subdistrict, Malang Regency, possesses significant potential for the development of coffee-based ecotourism. However, this potential remains largely underutilized due to several structural and institutional constraints. Key challenges include inadequate supporting infrastructure, limited capacity of local human resources, and the absence of downstream processing for coffee products. This community engagement program implemented an adaptive approach known as the Lumintu model, rooted in the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) framework. Field assessments revealed critical limitations such as poor road access to plantation areas, insufficient agricultural irrigation, and weak digital connectivity. Moreover, the capacity of village institutions—such as the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDesa) and coffee farmer groups—remained low, resulting in local coffee products with limited added value. The initial implementation of the program has shown promising results, particularly in strengthening institutional capacity through training on tourism business management and high–value coffee processing. Furthermore, product diversification through the development of coffee-based agrotourism and digital marketing innovations has been successfully introduced. Overall, this community engagement initiative has provided a concrete solution to rural development challenges in Sumberdem Village. Moving forward, the village is expected to strengthen its position as a sustainable coffee ecotourism destination and improve the long-term economic well-being of its residents. The proposed development model also holds the potential for adaptation and replication in other rural areas with similar characteristics, thereby supporting the broader achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The R05 Community Service Program (KKN), Subgroup 1 in Kalikatir Village, Gondang District, Mojokerto Regency, aims to implement hydram pump technology as an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient irrigation solution. This technology is designed to meet the water needs of 100 hectares of banana plantations, especially during the dry season. The implementation method includes initial surveys, design, manufacture, installation, and testing of the hydram pump, involving the participation of Kalikatir villagers. The results show that the pump is capable of lifting water to a height of 30 meters with 70% efficiency, although it has not yet reached the daily target. This technology has been proven to reduce operational costs and increase agricultural productivity. It is hoped that in the future, this technology can be further developed to improve its efficiency and sustainability.

Cilacap Regency in Central Java Province is recognized as an important contributor to national food production due to its extensive agricultural land and reliance on technical irrigation systems. The performance of irrigation networks, particularly secondary channels in the Serayu Irrigation Area (DI), is essential in regulating water levels to support agricultural activities in Sampang and Karangasem Villages. Variations in rainfall and field conditions often create water level differences that disrupt irrigation distribution, reducing water flow efficiency to rice fields and lowering productivity, especially during the dry season. This study aims to design secondary irrigation channels capable of maintaining stable water levels based on irrigation requirements. The research applies a descriptive quantitative method using rainfall data from BMKG, along with land area and elevation data interpreted from Google Earth imagery in 2025. The data were analyzed using probability and Thiessen polygon methods to estimate design rainfall, determine water availability, calculate irrigation demand, and plan channel dimensions. The analysis shows that Secondary Channel BGS 4.B serves an irrigation area of 103.57 hectares with a planned discharge capacity of 0.0343 m³/s. The channel design includes a base width of 0.65 meters and a water depth of 0.65 meters, with water surface elevations of 14.27 meters upstream and 13.15 meters downstream. Evaluation using a 10-year rainfall return period of 151.677 mm shows the channel can convey discharge effectively while maintaining water levels below the embankment, ensuring reliable irrigation distribution.

Water is an essential need for all living things on Earth to support various vital biological processes. Without water, life cannot exist because of its role as a solvent, nutrient transport medium, and temperature regulator. Water in nature does come from various sources such as rivers, lakes, rain, and groundwater, which are not all clear because they are contaminated with particles or other substances, in contrast to mountain springs which are often purer. In this study, a water filtration system was created aimed at making turbid water purify to be suitable for use by assessing the NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit) of turbid water due to suspended particles such as mud or sediment, thus producing clear water suitable for use for household or irrigation purposes. The use of two Siemens S7-1200 PLCs as controllers in the water filtration system is a reliable redundant approach to automate mechanisms such as pump, valve, and NTU sensor settings. PLC 1 is used for the filtration system and PLC 2 is used for the water distribution system. The water distribution process uses a DC pump that runs when it receives input from the water level sensor in the raw water tank and clean water tank. The water filtration process has three main stages: reading the water turbidity level using a turbidity sensor, regulating the water flow rate using a solenoid valve, and filtering the water using filter media. The system's operation can be monitored and controlled through a SCADA system. Both PLCs are connected using an OPC server for communication between the PLC and SCADA. The OPC server sends data from the PLC to the Wonderware InTouch application as the SCADA system. To monitor and control the SCADA system, users must log in to access the system.

The agricultural sector is a vital pillar in maintaining food security and enhancing the livelihoods of rural communities. In an effort to improve agricultural productivity, the Government of Lamongan Regency, through the Food Security and Agriculture Agency (DKPP), has implemented the Agricultural Facilities and Infrastructure Provision and Development Program. This program is designed to strengthen agricultural production capacity by supporting the availability of farming machinery, improving irrigation networks, and developing farm access roads. Despite its strategic importance, the program’s implementation continues to encounter various obstacles, including constrained budget availability, unequal distribution of agricultural facilities, reliance on rain-fed irrigation systems, substandard farm road infrastructure, and limited intensity of agricultural extension services. This research aims to examine the implementation of the Agricultural Facilities and Infrastructure Provision and Development Program in Sukodadi Village, Sukodadi District, Lamongan Regency. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing data collected through in-depth interviews, direct field observations, and document review. Analysis is conducted using the Van Meter and Van Horn policy implementation framework, which emphasizes six key variables: policy standards and objectives, resource adequacy, characteristics of implementing organizations, inter-organizational communication, implementer disposition, and social, economic, and political conditions. The results reveal that although policy standards and objectives are well defined, program execution remains suboptimal due to limited resources and insufficient institutional support at the operational level. Consequently, stronger coordination among implementing actors and improved resource optimization are necessary to achieve more effective and sustainable agricultural development outcomes.

Peat characteristics include low fertility, high acidity, and poor drainage because it comes from the weathering of organic matter under anaerobic conditions. However, peat has environmental benefits such as absorbing carbon, water buffers, and providing habitat for various unique flora and fauna. The use of peat as agricultural land is widely used by farmers in Pontianak City because it has a very large peatland area with a traditional agricultural system. However, traditional farming will have local knowledge (local wisdom) as a way to minimize damage to the peat ecosystem as an adaptation effort. This study aims to examine the adaptation of peatland management in traditional farming in Pontianak City. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive and multiple linear regression analysis. The number of research samples was 68 farmers. The results of the study showed that traditional farmers have paid attention to the sustainability of their farming to minimize environmental damage. The results of the study showed that the adaptations carried out were making wells to maintain water availability, using short-lived vegetables that require shallow drainage of 20-30 cm and are adaptive to peat, providing intensive shade, planting trees on empty land, cleaning intensive irrigation, providing ameliorant ash, lime, chicken manure intensively, and arranging planting patterns with diversification. The determining factors for peatland management adaptation include age, land area, length of farming, participation of fire-conscious communities, and intensity of participation in outreach.

Red onion (Allium ascalonium L.) is a horticultural commodity with high economic value that is widely used as a spice and food ingredient, resulting in continuous growth in demand. This study aims to analyze the types of risks and risk management practices undertaken by red onion farmers in Siwungkuk Village. The risks studied include production risks (pests and diseases), climate risks, price fluctuation risks, and risks associated with the use of farmer cards in the procurement of subsidized fertilizers. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires of 40 farmers. The results show that the majority of risk indicators are in the “Very Good” (76.7%) and “Good” (23.3%) categories, which means that farmers have a high level of risk awareness and mitigation capabilities. The most dominant risks felt by farmers are pest and disease attacks, climate uncertainty, and market price fluctuations. The mitigation strategies implemented include routine spraying, the use of additional irrigation, the selection of well-drained land, the recording of production costs, and the coordination of farmer groups for access to subsidized fertilizers. These findings indicate that the risk management practices implemented by farmers are effective, although cost efficiency and access to subsidized fertilizers need to be improved.

Malang Regency is known as a strategic location with considerable potential as a tourism destination in Indonesia. According to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics, Malang Regency has recorded 267 tourist destinations spread across 33 districts. This study uses data from one water tourism destination, referred to as Tourism Site X, which focuses on the management and development of recreational areas, including swimming pools, bathing facilities, water attractions, artificial lakes, as well as the management of recreational parks and family facilities such as playgrounds, seating areas, and recreational and educational facilities. Tourism Site X is located in Pakis District, Malang Regency. The reuse of treated wastewater as a non-potable water source for irrigating green open spaces represents a crucial strategic approach to conserving water resources, particularly in water tourism areas such as Tourism Site X, which require substantial water supplies. In practice, the wastewater generated in Tourism Site X mainly originates from domestic sources, including activities such as cleaning swimming pool areas and animal enclosures, toilet usage, and food court operations. This study aims to assess whether the quality of treated wastewater from the wastewater treatment process at Tourism Site X complies with the required standards for green open space irrigation, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Environment/Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2025 concerning Wastewater Quality Standards and Wastewater Treatment Technologies for Domestic Wastewater, as well as to identify parameters that need to be reduced or eliminated.

This study analyzes the forms of risk and risk management strategies in melon farming in Brebes as an impact of climate change. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied using a case study through in-depth interviews with a farmer who has more than ten years of experience, supported by secondary data from BPS, BAPPENAS, and related literature. The findings reveal four categories of major risks: market, financial, operational, and socio-environmental. High-level risks include climate variability, yield decline, and pest attacks. Medium-level risks involve production costs, water management, and price fluctuations, while low-level risks consist of limited weather information and agricultural extension services. Current strategies are still basic, including fertilization, pesticide application, and water channel arrangement. Strengthening adaptation is needed through irrigation technology, climate-resilient varieties, marketing diversification, and improved access to information and institutional support.

Historically, water resource management in Indonesia has faced significant complexities, often dominated by commercialization and investment-oriented policies that threaten the fundamental rights of farmers. The Constitutional Court’s decision to annul the previous Water Resources Law marks a crucial turning point, demanding a comprehensive policy reformulation. This entails a shift from a market-based paradigm to one grounded in human rights and social welfare, reaffirming state sovereignty over water for the prosperity of the people. The urgency of this reformulation is compounded by the imminent threat of climate change, which introduces high uncertainty into the hydrological cycle—manifesting as extreme droughts and floods—thereby directly impacting the agricultural sector. This research aims to formulate a climate-adaptive water resource management policy that secures the priority rights of farmers. Employing a Normative Legal Research Method with Statutory and Conceptual Approaches, the findings present a new, holistic legal and institu-tional framework. This framework centers on two pillars: first, the firm assertion and absolute legal protection of irrigation water allocation for farmers, even during periods of scarcity; and second, the adoption of a Climate-Adaptive Governance Model. This governance model integrates a unified climate monitoring system, resilient water infrastructure, and the empowerment of Water User Associations (P3A) at the grassroots level to independently respond to shifting climate patterns. This reformulation is essential for achieving water management that is just, sustainable, and effective in maintaining national food security

This community service activity aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Muaro Saiyo Farmers Group through the integration of entrepreneurial independence and sustainable irrigation management. The main issues faced by the group are the weakness of the organizational structure, low entrepreneurial skills, and poorly coordinated irrigation management. The implementation methods include field surveys, socialization, thematic training (institutional management, post-harvest processing, and sustainable irrigation), mentoring, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests to measure changes in knowledge. The results of the activity show a significant increase in participants' knowledge, which improved from 25.9% in the "good" category before the training to 88.9% after the training. In addition, the group formed administrative documents, value-added rice products, and a trained irrigation management team. This program successfully created social changes in the form of new norms in farm management, strengthened the culture of mutual cooperation, and fostered the emergence of local leaders capable of mobilizing the group. Future recommendations include the development of more sustainable farming business units and continuous mentoring to strengthen the group's independence in the long term.

This study aims to assess the growth rate of harvested area and rice production in Bengkulu Province during the 2019–2024 period and to examine spatial variation across districts as a basis for regional agricultural policy planning. The data used are secondary, consisting of a series of spatial and temporal data on harvested area and rice production; the analysis method includes calculating the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for each indicator and examining temporal and spatial patterns across districts. The analysis results indicate a negative growth rate in the rice sector, with a relatively larger contraction in harvested area compared to production, accompanied by fluctuations and differences between years, indicating heterogeneity in agricultural performance at the district level. These findings have clear policy implications: the need for agricultural land protection measures, improvement and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure, increased farmer access to technology and markets, and the implementation of indicator-based growth rate monitoring to determine intervention priorities. To strengthen the policy base, recommended further research includes field verification and combined (quantitative-qualitative) studies to identify local factors driving the observed trends and fluctuations.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of natural resource management, particularly water and soil, in increasing agricultural production in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research approach used was descriptive qualitative through field observations, in-depth interviews with farmers and village officials, and documentation studies from relevant agencies. The results indicate that the irrigation system in Sampali Village is not operating effectively, characterized by shallowing of canals, damaged irrigation walls, and blockages that cause uneven water distribution. This condition has a significant impact on crop yields, with a difference in production between upstream and downstream areas reaching 1.9 tons/ha. Furthermore, soil quality has also declined due to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers, as indicated by a soil pH that tends to be acidic (5.4–6.0), low organic matter content (1.2–1.8%), and decreased soil biological activity. Factors influencing the effectiveness of water and soil management include technical, environmental, socio-economic, and institutional aspects. This study concludes that natural resource management in Sampali Village is still suboptimal, necessitating improvements to irrigation infrastructure, increased use of organic fertilizers, and institutional strengthening and farmer mentoring. These efforts are expected to support sustainable agricultural productivity gains.
