Information systems are an important element in the business world that helps businesses increase work efficiency and reduce human error. In practice, many businesses still produce financial reports manually. Manual preparation of financial reports is inefficient and tends to have a higher potential for delays, lateness, or errors in data entry. This makes the financial reports presented inaccurate and unreliable as a basis for making decisions. To address this problem, a community service program was implemented by designing an accounting system using Microsoft Access, which provides various features that can help users in data processing. The method carried out starts with observation, system design, and evaluation by the partner. The result of implementing this program is that the system designed in Microsoft Access successfully accelerated the work process for partners, making the preparation of financial reports more efficient and timely. The financial reports presented also became more accurate and reliable.

Surveillance for diarrhea at the district level in Indonesia is still affected by the fragmented nature of the District Health Information System (DHIS) and Early Warning and Response System (EWARS), inconsistent reporting, patchy data interoperability, and the resulting public health delays. Although there are systems in place like the DHIS and EWARS, the persistent use of hybrid systems that combine manual and digital data entry, as well as the different skill levels of users, continues to produce issues of incompleteness, untimely reporting, and inaccurate data. The present study investigated the deficiencies in surveillance reporting of diarrhea cases, the surveillance data to determine the degree of integration and also investigated the health workers perceptions of the barriers to effective reporting. A mixed methods approach was adopted in this study where we investigated quantitatively the DHIS and routine diarrhea reports submitted for the entire year of 2023, and combined that with qualitative, in-depth interviews with the relevant surveillance officers, program managers, and district staff. The quantitative analysis indicated gaps in reporting about 55% in terms of completeness, and consistency of reporting and also significant differences were found between the manual register, DHIS, and EWARS whereby the integration of these systems was found to be low. The qualitative analysis pointed to the combination of disconnected workflows, limited cross-system interoperability, inadequate system training, excessive workloads, and weak organizational feedback, as the main barriers to effective reporting. The combination of these two datasets illustrates the fact that both system deficiencies and organizational factors are primary drivers of the reporting. Closing the gaps will require system level changes in the interoperability of reporting systems, simplified reporting workflows, training, reporting, and reporting feedback loops.

Data security is a critical aspect in the digital era due to the increasing exchange of sensitive information through electronic media. One widely used approach to protect data confidentiality is cryptography, particularly asymmetric encryption algorithms. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA) algorithm as a data security mechanism through an encryption and decryption process. The research method used is an experimental approach by implementing the RSA algorithm in a text-based data security simulation. The stages include key generation, encryption, and decryption processes, followed by analysis of the correctness and effectiveness of the algorithm in maintaining data confidentiality. The results show that the RSA algorithm is capable of converting plaintext into unreadable ciphertext and successfully restoring it to its original form through the decryption process using the correct private key. This confirms that RSA provides a high level of security based on the difficulty of factoring large prime numbers. The implication of this study is that the RSA algorithm can be effectively applied to secure sensitive data transmission in information systems, especially in environments requiring strong authentication and confidentiality.

Password security is a critical component in protecting information systems, as passwords are often the primary target of various attacks, particularly brute force attacks. A brute force attack works by systematically attempting all possible character combinations until the correct password corresponding to a stored hash value is found. Therefore, the choice of an appropriate hash algorithm plays a significant role in determining a system’s resistance to such attacks. This study aims to analyze and compare the password cracking time of MD5, SHA-256, and SHA-512 hash algorithms under brute force attack scenarios. The research methodology involves generating hash values from a set of test passwords using each hash algorithm, followed by conducting brute force attacks to recover the original passwords based on the generated hash values. The collected data are analyzed by measuring the time required to crack passwords for each algorithm. The results indicate that MD5 has the fastest cracking time compared to SHA-256 and SHA-512, indicating a lower level of resistance to brute force attacks. SHA-256 demonstrates better security than MD5 but remains less resistant when compared to SHA-512. The SHA-512 algorithm requires the longest cracking time, reflecting the highest level of resistance to brute force attacks among the tested algorithms. In conclusion, hash algorithms with larger bit lengths provide stronger protection against brute force attacks and are more suitable for secure password storage in information systems.
