Indonesia is one of the world's main producers of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii), but in the last five years, Indonesian cinnamon exports have decreased by around 10.13% per year. This decline is influenced by various factors that are closely related to competitiveness. As one of the plantation sub-sector commodities, cinnamon plays an important role in national economic development, especially in improving people's welfare. Cinnamon is used as an ingredient in food, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, and other industries. In addition to supporting income, this plant also contributes to environmental preservation, especially in river basins and conservation areas. Most of Indonesia's cinnamon exports come from areas such as Kerinci, West Sumatra, Central Java, and Yogyakarta, which are dominated by smallholder plantations. One of the MSMEs in Simarito Village, North Sumatra, is a cinnamon exporter with a capacity of 500-1000 tons per year. The success of this MSME is supported by the implementation of an effective STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) marketing strategy, product innovation, and a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. In an increasingly competitive market, developing marketing strategies and improving quality are the main keys to maintaining the sustainability of Indonesian cinnamon exports.

International trade is the main pillar of global economic development. For Indonesia, international trade policy plays a strategic role in encouraging economic growth. As a country rich in natural resources and with a large population, Indonesia has the potential to be significant in the global value chain. However, fluctuations in commodity prices, competitive pressures, and protectionism of trading partners are obstacles that need to be overcome. This study examines the impact of international trade policies on Indonesia's economic growth through a literature study. The analysis focuses on the influence of tariff regulation, free trade agreements, and non-tariff policies on the competitiveness of national products and the protection of domestic industries. The results show that trade policies are effective in creating synergies between exports and economic growth, although challenges in the form of dependence on primary commodity exports and the need to increase manufacturing competitiveness remain. This study recommends strengthening infrastructure, improving the quality of human resources, and sustainable economic policies as strategies to optimize international trade for national economic development.

Inflation is a complex economic phenomenon and has a broad impact, including on a country's import policy. When inflation occurs, domestic prices of goods and services increase, thereby increasing production and consumption costs. As a result, producers must increase product prices to maintain profit margins, which can reduce domestic demand and increase demand for imports because local prices become more expensive than imported goods. In addition, inflation also weakens the value of a country's currency, increases the demand for foreign exchange to pay for imports, and worsens the exchange rate. Countries with high inflation rates often experience trade deficits due to a surge in imports and a decline in exports, which in turn depletes foreign exchange reserves because they are needed to pay foreign debt and import goods that are needed but can no longer be exported. To overcome inflation, countries can adjust their strategies. import with more effective measures. Several steps that can be taken include: (1) Optimizing the Import List, namely prioritizing essential goods that are difficult to re-export; (2) Negotiation of Import Tariffs, with the aim of reducing import costs and increasing trade flexibility; and (3) Investment in the Local Manufacturing Sector, in order to reduce dependence on imports and increase domestic competitiveness. With this strategy, import policies can be anticipated and prepared proactively to be more effective in dealing with inflationary conditions. This abstract discusses the impact of inflation on import policies and strategies to deal with it, such as optimizing import lists, negotiating import tariffs, and investing in the local manufacturing sector.

Asnan Ridoanrisna. Efficiency Of Pakcoy Plants (Brassica Rapa) In Maintaining Water Quality To Support The Survival Rate Of Tilapia. Under Guidance By Robin And Novita Mz. Tilapia is a freshwater fish commodity with high economic value. According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), tilapia exports reached 12.29 thousand tons with a value of USD 78.44 million. Tilapia farming faces the risk of mortality which can lead to economic losses, one of which is caused by organic pollution. To address this issue, this research employs phytoremediation methods with varying plant densities to improve water quality and tilapia survival. The study was conducted with four treatments: A75 (plant density 75% of the aquarium surface area), A50 (50%), A25 (25%), and A0 (no plants), using an aquarium size of 60 x 30 x 50 cm³. Each treatment received chicken manure at 1.8 grams per aquarium and 40 tilapia fish per aquarium. Observations were made over 15 days in March 2023, measuring physical and chemical water parameters including DO, pH, TDS, temperature, and ammonia, as well as calculating the survival rate of tilapia. Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), the study found that treatment A75 achieved the highest survival rate at 62.5%. This result indicates that higher plant density in the phytoremediation method is more effective in maintaining water quality and supporting tilapia survival.

Tintun's Cookies, an SMEs of pastry and cookies that has been established for more than 10 years, plans to expand overseas. This study aims to identify countries with potential for Tintun's Cookies products, analyse external and internal factors, and formulate appropriate export strategies for Tintun's Cookies in preparing for exports to the target country. The research method uses Market Research Analysis using Trademap data and indicators such as import tariffs, requirements, trends, and distance in the destination country, PESTEL, EFE, IFE, and Marketing Mix 7ps. The results of the study show that Malaysia is the recommended country to be the main export destination for Tintun's Cookies products. This is supported by high market demand, proximity, elimination of import tariffs, ease of regulation, and cultural and product trend similarities. Based on the intersection of the IFE and EFE matrices, it shows that Tintun's Cookies is in quadrant 1, namely Grow and Build, where this position shows that Tintun's Cookies is in good condition in terms of strengths and opportunities and has the capability to export cookies to Malaysia. Thus, it is recommended a marketing strategy to take advantage of opportunities by developing products, market penetration, and market development. Some of the proposed strategies are to meet export requirements in Indonesia and Malaysia through export training from the government, meet labelling and identity requirements for cookies in Malaysia, set competitive selling prices, collaborate with the government and e-commerce media to reach consumers.
