The Human Resource Department (HRD) plays a very important role in supporting the growth and sustainability of an organization or company. Employees represent the most valuable asset owned by the company, which means that HRD can be considered the most critical component that must be managed properly. The primary function of HRD encompasses the management of all aspects related to the workforce, including ensuring that every employee fully receives their rights. To enhance work effectiveness and efficiency, HRD requires support in the form of a computer-based technology system. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an application capable of accelerating and simplifying employee data management. This study aims to improve HRD performance through the creation of a Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The application development process adopts the Waterfall method. The final outcome of this research is an application that successfully facilitates the HRD department in carrying out its various tasks more effectively.

The attendance recording system at PLN ULP Tanjungbalai still relies on manual, paper-based methods, resulting in delays in data recap, reduced efficiency, and a high potential for recording errors. This condition affects the accuracy of employee attendance information, which is essential for administrative activities and managerial decision-making. Based on these issues, this practical work aims to design and develop a web-based e-attendance application as a solution to enhance efficiency, processing speed, and the accuracy of attendance recapitulation. The system was developed using PHP as the programming language and MySQL as the database management system, following several stages including requirement analysis, system design using UML, and implementation of a web-based user interface. The application provides essential features such as user login, daily attendance recording, employee data management, attendance notes (permission, sickness, etc.), and automatic attendance report generation. The system is designed for two types of users—Admin and Employees—each with specific access rights. The implementation results indicate that the e-attendance application significantly improves the efficiency of attendance administration at PLN ULP Tanjungbalai. Data collection and recapitulation become faster, more structured, and less prone to errors, while also enabling administrators to monitor employee attendance in real time. Therefore, this web-based e-attendance application serves as an effective solution to support operational activities and enhance the quality of employee attendance management.

The employee attendance system is a crucial component of human resource management, particularly for performance evaluation, salary calculation, and discipline monitoring. PDAM Tirtanadi North Sumatra still employs a manual attendance system, which is considered inefficient, prone to errors, and slows down administrative processes. This study aims to develop a web-based attendance application to improve the accuracy and efficiency of employee attendance data management. The research method uses software engineering with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model based on the waterfall approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews with relevant stakeholders, and literature review. The application is designed with several key features, including user authentication, digital attendance recording, employee data management, attendance recap, and report generation in PDF formats. Testing results show that the application operates according to system requirements and positively impacts the efficiency of the attendance process. The implementation of this application is expected to accelerate administrative procedures, enhance accountability, and provide a more accurate data foundation for analysis and managerial decision-making.

The Personnel Management Information System (SIMPEG) is a technology-based application used to manage personnel data in a centralized, efficient, and accurate manner. SIMPEG enables various administrative processes, such as payroll, promotions, and employee data management, to be automated, which were previously done manually and prone to errors. This study discusses the concept of SIMPEG, its implementation stages, and its benefits in improving efficiency, data accuracy, service transparency, quick decision-making, and centralized resource management. The research findings show that SIMPEG reduces manual workload, enhances the accuracy and speed of access to employee data, and supports better and more timely decision-making. In addition, SIMPEG increases transparency in administrative processes, reduces operational costs, and strengthens public trust in government institutions. However, the successful implementation of SIMPEG depends on the readiness of technological infrastructure and user training. Therefore, infrastructure development and training are crucial to optimizing SIMPEG use throughout Indonesia.
