This study analyzed the effectiveness and contribution of the Food and/or Beverage Tax, Hotel Services Tax, and Art and Entertainment Services Tax to Jakarta's Regional Own-Source Revenue during 2018–2024, and formulated policy recommendations based on fishbone (Ishikawa) analysis for the lowest-performing tax type. A descriptive quantitative approach supported by qualitative analysis was employed. Secondary data were obtained from Regional Government Financial Reports, while primary data were gathered through in-depth interviews with the Regional Revenue Agency, a tax consultant, an event organizer, and a venue operator. The Hotel Services Tax recorded the highest average effectiveness at 108.25%, followed by the Food and/or Beverage Tax at 100.72%, and the Art and Entertainment Services Tax at 98.88%. All three fell under the very low contribution category, with the Art and Entertainment Services Tax recording the lowest average at 1.16%. Fishbone analysis identified six root cause categories: disproportionate staffing and insufficient socialization (Man), reactive collection mechanisms (Method), limited tax technology implementation (Machine), misclassified business data and weak regulatory dissemination (Material), underreported revenues and high tax rates suppressing voluntary compliance (Measurement), and high entertainment sector elasticity with slow post-pandemic recovery (Environment). Policy recommendations were formulated across all six factors to optimize regional tax revenue.

This study examines the influence of financial literacy, Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), and influencer marketing on Generation Z's decision to use Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services in Dompu Regency. The rapid development of financial technology has encouraged the widespread adoption of BNPL as an alternative digital payment method, particularly among young consumers. However, the increasing use of this service also raises concerns regarding financial decision-making and consumer behavior. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 Generation Z respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on BNPL usage decisions. Likewise, FOMO significantly influences individuals' decisions to utilize BNPL services, while influencer marketing also demonstrates a positive and significant contribution to users' decisions. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly affect BNPL usage decisions, explaining 27% of the variance in the dependent variable. These findings suggest that financial knowledge, psychological factors, and social influence collectively shape Generation Z's financial behavior. Therefore, strengthening financial literacy and promoting responsible use of digital financial services are essential to encourage more informed and sustainable financial decision-making.

Background: Low birth weight (LBW) remains a major public health concern worldwide due to its significant contribution to neonatal morbidity and mortality, as well as its long-term adverse health consequences. Pregnancy intention has been identified as a potential determinant of adverse birth outcomes; however, evidence regarding its association with LBW remains inconsistent. This study aimed to examine the association between pregnancy intention and low birth weight in Indonesia using data from the 2012 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS). A cross-sectional study was conducted using secondary data from the 2012 IDHS. The study included 8,922 married women aged 15–49 years who had a singleton live birth within five years preceding the survey. Pregnancy intention was categorized as intended, mistimed, and unwanted. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the association between pregnancy intention and LBW after controlling for potential confounding variables. The prevalence of LBW was 6.2%. After adjustment for maternal age and antenatal care (ANC) visits, no significant association was found between mistimed pregnancy and LBW (AOR = 1.055; 95% CI: 0.765–1.454). An interaction effect was identified between unwanted pregnancy and pregnancy complications. Women with unwanted pregnancies accompanied by pregnancy complications had a higher risk of delivering LBW infants compared with women whose pregnancies were intended and without complications. Nevertheless, pregnancy intention was not significantly associated with LBW overall after adjustment for confounding factors. Maternal age outside the optimal reproductive age range (<20 years or >35 years) and inadequate ANC utilization were significantly associated with an increased risk of LBW. Pregnancy intention was not independently associated with low birth weight among Indonesian women after controlling for maternal and healthcare-related factors. Maternal age and antenatal care utilization were more consistent determinants of LBW. Strengthening maternal health services, particularly adequate antenatal care and early detection of pregnancy complications, may contribute to reducing the burden of low birth weight in Indonesia.

Stroke remains one of the leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide, including in Indonesia. The increasing prevalence of stroke and Years Lived with Disability (YLD) reflects its growing health burden. This study aimed to analyze trends in stroke prevalence and YLD in Indonesia during 2021–2023 using data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD). A quantitative descriptive design with an ecological and time-trend approach was employed. Secondary data were obtained from the GBD Results Tool and analyzed using R version 4.4.1. The analysis focused on major geographical regions across Indonesia. The results showed a gradual increase in both stroke prevalence and YLD during the study period. Java recorded the highest prevalence and YLD, while Maluku and Papua showed lower prevalence but greater variation in YLD. These trends were associated with urbanization, unhealthy lifestyles, hypertension, diabetes, and unequal access to healthcare and rehabilitation services. Pearson correlation analysis demonstrated a very strong association between stroke prevalence and YLD (r > 0.99) across all years. The findings highlight increasing stroke burden and regional disparities, emphasizing the need for equitable healthcare access, risk factor control, and strengthened post-stroke rehabilitation programs.

Mental health disorders, particularly depression and anxiety, remain major contributors to the global burden of disease and disability. Socioeconomic inequality, including differences in Gross National Income (GNI) per capita, is considered an important factor influencing mental health outcomes. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between GNI per capita and the prevalence of depression and anxiety disorders globally using data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2023 database. A descriptive ecological study design was conducted using secondary data from 187 countries and regions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation tests, and regional comparative analysis with ANOVA. The results showed substantial disparities in mental health burden and income distribution across regions. Africa had the highest average prevalence of depression, while Asia showed the greatest variability in anxiety disorders. A significant negative correlation was found between depression prevalence and income levels (r = -0.213; p = 0.003), indicating higher depression rates in lower-income countries. However, anxiety showed a weak and insignificant relationship with income (r = -0.079; p = 0.281). These findings emphasize the need to reduce socioeconomic inequalities and strengthen mental health systems through integrated healthcare services and multisectoral policies.

Corruption committed by the leader of an independent state oversight institution represents a paradox that fundamentally undermines the legitimacy of government governance. This study examines the case of Hery Susanto, Chairman of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, who was designated as a corruption suspect by the Attorney General's Office on April 16, 2026—merely six days after his inauguration—in connection with alleged bribery of Rp1.5 billion from PT Toshida Sulawesi Hijau Indonesia involving the management of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in the nickel mining sector for the period 2013–2025. This study aims to analyze the manifestation of the three elements of the Fraud Triangle—pressure, opportunity, and rationalization—within this case, and to formulate systemic implications for corruption prevention in independent state institutions. Employing a normative-empirical legal research approach with a case study method, data were collected through documentation and qualitative content analysis of legal documents, official press releases from the Attorney General's Office, and verified media reports. The findings reveal that pressure stemmed from financial motivation and career ambition; opportunity arose from weak internal oversight mechanisms, the perpetrator's strategic position, and regulatory gaps in Law Number 37 of 2008; while rationalization manifested through cognitive justification that framed the receipt of compensation as a reasonable reward for services rendered. This study contributes to the literature on forensic accounting and corruption criminology, while recommending the establishment of an independent Ombudsman Supervisory Board and the strengthening of a digital-based early detection system.

The Free Health Check-up (CKG) is a government program designed to strengthen promotive and preventive health efforts through the early detection of risk factors, pre-disease conditions, and diseases across the community according to the life-cycle approach. As a relatively new initiative, the implementation of the CKG program in primary healthcare settings still requires further evaluation to assess implementation readiness, digital support systems, and community participation. This literature review aimed to examine the implementation of the Free Health Check-up Program in primary healthcare services. Relevant literature was retrieved from the Google Scholar database using the keyword "implementation of the free health check-up program" and was limited to open-access, full-text articles published between 2025 and 2026. The search identified eight eligible articles, which were extracted and analyzed in this review. The synthesis revealed three major themes in the implementation of the CKG program: (1) primary healthcare service readiness, (2) digitalization and reporting systems, and (3) community participation and communication strategies. Primary healthcare readiness includes the availability of human resources, infrastructure, medical equipment, consumable medical supplies, funding, service workflows, and cross-sectoral coordination. Digitalization through the SATUSEHATplatform and integrated reporting systems has the potential to improve service efficiency; however, challenges remain regarding digital literacy, internet connectivity, and the technical capacity of healthcare personnel. Community participation is influenced by knowledge, attitudes, the roles of community health volunteers, teachers, healthcare workers, and communication strategies tailored to the characteristics of the target population. The successful implementation of the CKG program requires strengthening primary healthcare systems, optimizing digital health platforms, and adopting community-based communication strategies to ensure the program is more effective, inclusive, and sustainable.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Land and Building Tax (Pajak Bumi dan Bangunan or PBB) collection and its significant impact on local revenue generation. Land and building tax is a crucial component of local government revenue in Indonesia, especially following the implementation of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization policies. Despite its critical role in funding local infrastructure and public services, the realization of PBB often falls short of its potential targets. This research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach, employing secondary data collected from local revenue agencies and extensive literature reviews of previous academic publications. The objectives are to evaluate the effectiveness of current collection mechanisms, identify the primary obstacles hindering taxpayer compliance, and assess the overall contribution of PBB to regional financial independence. The findings reveal that while the administrative framework for PBB collection is generally well-established, practical implementation faces numerous challenges, including outdated land value assessments, low taxpayer awareness, suboptimal database management, and limited human resources within the tax apparatus. Furthermore, the study indicates that targeted digitalization of tax services and proactive public socialization campaigns can significantly enhance compliance rates. Practically, the results provide valuable recommendations for local policymakers to reform their tax collection strategies, optimize revenue streams, and ensure sustainable regional development.
