This study aims to identify and analyze Ramadan-specific lexicons used by Indonesian Muslim communities on social media, as well as to describe the cultural meanings embedded within them. The study employs an anthropolinguistic approach with a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques from three social media platforms X (Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram during the Ramadan 1446 H/2025 period. A total of 32 Ramadan-specific lexicons were identified and classified into three categories: greetings and expressions (12 items), worship-related lexicons (10 items), and culinary lexicons (10 items). The findings reveal that Ramadan lexicons circulating on social media reflect a blend of Islamic religious values, local Indonesian cultural traditions, and the influence of digital globalization. The hybrid nature of the language used — including code-mixing between Indonesian, Arabic, and English — illustrates the dynamic cultural identity of contemporary Indonesian Muslims. Ultimately, this study affirms that language is a living mirror of culture, one that continues to evolve alongside social and technological change.

This study explores how Generation Z maintains the use of the Indonesian language amid the challenges of globalization. In a modern era heavily influenced by foreign cultures and rapid digital development, a shift in language usage patterns among youth is becoming increasingly apparent. Foreign languages, particularly English, are frequently adopted in daily communication, which may threaten the role of the Indonesian language as a marker of national identity. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence Generation Z’s language attitudes and practices, and to examine how they perceive Indonesian as part of their identity. Using a qualitative approach through interviews and observations, the findings reveal that although there is a tendency toward mixed language usage, there remains a level of awareness among Generation Z about the importance of preserving the Indonesian language. However, globalization and the dominance of foreign media content are significant influences shaping their linguistic habits. Therefore, strategic and youth-oriented efforts are needed to ensure that the Indonesian language remains relevant and valued in the future.

This research examines the Peranakan Arabic dialect in Condet, East Jakarta, as a representation of cultural acculturation between Hadrami Arab society and local Indonesian culture. This dialect is the result of a unique blend of standard Arabic with elements of Indonesian and Javanese, reflecting a long history of migration and cultural interaction. This research aims to analyze linguistic characteristics, social roles, and challenges faced in maintaining this dialect. The research method used is descriptive-analytical with a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with native speakers, participant observation, and literature review. The research results show that this dialect has distinctive characteristics in the form of loan-word vocabulary, phonological changes, and intonation patterns that are influenced by the local language. This dialect not only functions as a means of communication, but also as a symbol of Peranakan Arab identity and solidarity in Condet. However, globalization and shifts in language use among the younger generation pose a threat to the sustainability of this dialect. Therefore, preservation efforts are needed through documentation and cultural education. This research contributes to linguistic studies, especially Arabic dialects in Indonesia, and is the basis for preserving the Peranakan Arab cultural heritage as part of Indonesia's cultural richness.
