This paper explains the role of technology in optimizing container yard (CY) management at PT. Masaji Kargosentra Tama Belawan. PT. Masaji Kargosentra Tama Belawan is a shipping company that is a multimodal transport business entity, this company operates in the field of domestic warehousing services and import and export container Freight Station (CFS), with warehouse supply and distribution services. The container yard is one of PT's main facilities. Masaji Kargosentra Tama Belawan is used to form containers to minimize the risk of ship delays resulting in decreased loading and unloading production. In managing container yards, there are obstacles, including incompetent human resources and high implementation costs. For this reason, the purpose of writing this paper is to determine the role of technology in optimizing container yard (CY) management. The method used in this writing is field research (field research) where the author makes direct observations at the company and library research (library research) where the author obtains paper material from books in the library or other reading sources related to the main points. taken is the Role of Technology in Optimizing Container Yard (CY) Management at PT. Masaji Kargosentra Tama Belawan.

The service of container activity flow in the depot that is not carried out effectively will have an impact on the service users which can have a major impact on the company resulting in a reduction in service users in the company. To avoid service users feeling dissatisfied with the depot service, it is better to supervise the activities in the depot and it is necessary to add workers to activities that require fast processing time. The handling scheme for container activity flow in the depot at PT. Prima Indonesia Logistik Belawan starts from container rental and the depot stacking yard. However, in the handling scheme for container activity flow at PT. Prima Indonesia Logistik Belawan, there is still a manual system so that there are often similarities in the numbers in the input lines and have an impact on repeating data input. And damage to the tools that often occur, such as damage to the Reach stacker (Heavy Equipment) which results in hampered activities in the depot. The method used in this study is the Library Research and Field Research methods.

The aim of this research is to determine the performance of TRT from 2021 to 2023, identify the causes and impacts of TRT that exceeds the standard set time. The research design used is descriptive research with a mixed methods approach (qualitative )The type of data used is qualitative and quantitative data presented in numbers and sentences that support the author's opinion in analyzing this research. Data sources in this research are divided into primary data sources obtained from interviews, observations and literature studies and secondary data sources obtained from company data in the form of throughput data, TRT for 2021 to 2023, printed books, journals and the internet. The results of this research are that the TRT performance at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is good because in 2021 to 2023 the dominant number of trucks at the TRT was less than 30 minutes, although there could be indications of a decline in performance. This decline in performance is indicated by an increase in the number of trucks from 2021 to 2023 on TRT of more than 30 minutes. The causes of TRT exceeding the standard determination time are density factors in the stacking yard, equipment factors (service and availability), human resource factors and natural factors. The negative impact of TRT that exceeds the standard set time is disruption of loading and unloading activities, internal company losses and decreased customer loyalty. Suggestions that can be used in overcoming TRT (Truck Round Time) problems are that good coordination is needed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), good improvisation from human resources, systems and equipment as well as yard planners carrying out various plan innovations by shortening slots so that RTG movements are not too displacement length.
