Sharia financial literacy is an important aspect in supporting inclusive and sustainable economic development. However, the level of sharia financial literacy among Indonesian society is still relatively low. This condition creates opportunities for Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to play a strategic role in improving young generations’ understanding of financial management based on sharia principles. Therefore, this community service activity aimed to enhance the sharia financial literacy and inclusion of students through the SAKINAH (Santri Cakap Literasi Keuangan Syariah) Program at Nurul Abshor Islamic Boarding School, Katingan Regency. The program was implemented using a participatory educational approach through socialization, interactive discussions, simple simulations, and participant evaluations. The activity was carried out through collaboration among the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Central Kalimantan Province, the Islamic Economic Society of Katingan Regency, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Palangka Raya, Nurul Abshor Islamic Boarding School, the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team of Katingan Regency, and students of Palangka Raya University. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the importance of saving, the ability to distinguish between needs and wants, sharia financial management, and knowledge of legal and trustworthy sharia financial products and services. The SAKINAH Program was also considered effective in encouraging students to become agents of sharia financial literacy within the pesantren environment and the wider community.

The Tandak Timang tradition in Batu Badinding Village, Central Katingan District, plays an important role in fostering the faith of children aged 1-5 years, which is carried out by parents. From an early age, children are introduced to faith values through Tandak Timang verses that contain advice, prayers, and praise to God. This study aims to (1) describe the role of parents in fostering the faith of children aged 1-5 years through the Tandak Timang tradition in Batu Badinding Village, Central Katingan District; and (2) describe the values implemented by parents for children aged 1-5 years in Batu Badinding Village, Central Katingan District. The research used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that Tandak Timang plays a significant role in shaping children's spiritual foundation. Parents' roles are manifested through daily practices, such as singing, storytelling, and rocking children while chanting verses in the Dayak Ngaju language. This practice not only builds strong emotional bonds but also serves as an effective medium for instilling noble values. These values include cultural values, moral and ethical values, ancestral values, and spiritual values that teach children about the importance of prayer and hope in God.The conclusion of this study is that parents act not only as cultural inheritors but also as educators, role models, and facilitators. They utilize intimate moments when putting children to sleep—through singing, storytelling, and rocking—to instill faith values. The strong physical and emotional interaction builds a solid bond, making it easier for children to accept and internalize a deep understanding of the teachings conveyed. The Tandak Timang tradition is rich in noble values that serve as the foundation for faith formation. These values include cultural values, moral and ethical values, ancestral values, and spiritual values. The suggestions put forward are that parents should further understand the meaning of Tandak Timang for fostering children's faith from an early age, and pass on and preserve the character of children through this Central Kalimantan Dayak culture. For subsequent researchers conducting similar studies, it is recommended to develop the research objectives and focus more specifically on the research topics.

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding theology not merely as a theoretical concept, but as a reflection of faith that is lived within the cultural context of society. In the context of the Dayak community in Central Kalimantan, there is a close relationship between cultural values and spiritual life, thus requiring a theological approach that can bridge the two. This study aims to analyze the praxis model in contextual theology and its application in the life of the Dayak community. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study by examining various relevant sources. The results show that the praxis model emphasizes the relationship between lived experience, faith reflection, and concrete action. Cultural values such as togetherness and mutual cooperation are in line with Christian teachings; however, there are also traditional practices that create tension with faith. The church plays an important role in addressing this through a dialogical and reflective approach. The implications of this study indicate that the application of the praxis model enables believers to live out their faith in a contextual, relevant, and transformative way in daily life without losing their cultural identity.Top of Form

Blasting is a critical method for overburden removal in open-pit coal mines, where fragmentation quality directly impacts loading efficiency and operational costs. This study aims to analyze the actual fragmentation resulting from overburden blasting at Pit 4 Middle of PT. Victor Dua Tiga Mega, Central Kalimantan, to predict fragmentation using the Kuz-Ram model, and to evaluate the conformity of both results against the company standard (boulder size ≤144.6 cm or ≥50 cm for analysis). The research employed a quantitative comparative method. Primary data included blasting geometry and photographs of muck piles from 10 blasting events, which were analyzed using WipFrag software to obtain actual fragmentation distribution. Secondary data comprised rock characteristics and explosive properties for Kuz-Ram prediction input. The results showed significant variation in actual boulder percentage (≥50 cm), ranging from 6.19% to 32.91% with an average of 16.05% (medium category). Statistical analysis revealed a very weak negative correlation (r = -0.21) between powder factor (PF) and boulder percentage, indicating that PF is not the dominant factor within the consistent application range (0.21-0.23 kg/bcm). Comparison with Kuz-Ram predictions showed that the model consistently over-predicted coarse material, with an average difference of +25.21%, suggesting the need for rock factor (A) recalibration. It is concluded that the blasting results are inconsistent, strongly influenced by uncontrollable factors such as geological conditions. Recommendations include geometri evaluation, particularly burden and spacing, and calibration of the Kuz-Ram model for more accurate future predictions.

This study describes the availability and utilization of Central Kalimantan folklore books in elementary school learning in Kahayan Tengah District, Pulang Pisau Regency. Folklore has potential as a contextual learning medium that strengthens students' character and cultural literacy. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation in three randomly selected elementary schools: SDN Tuwung 1, SDN Tuwung 2, and SDN Bukit Rawi 1. The findings reveal that the availability of Central Kalimantan folklore books is uneven. SDN Tuwung 1 possesses several bilingual books from the Central Kalimantan Language Center. SDN Bukit Rawi 1 has only two anthology titles in fairly good physical condition. SDN Tuwung 2 has only one local folklore book. The utilization of folklore books in learning remains incidental and has not been systematically integrated into the curriculum. The most frequently used methods are read-aloud and oral storytelling. Follow-up activities such as rewriting or dramatization are rarely conducted. The main challenges include limited book collections, lack of curriculum integration, and minimal teacher training. Nevertheless, students' enthusiasm for folklore is considerably high, indicating significant opportunities to develop literacy programs based on Central Kalimantan folklore. This study recommends more equitable book collection provision, integration of folklore into learning modules, and teacher training to innovatively utilize folklore in the learning process.

Islamization in Sambas, West Kalimantan, represents a historical and evolving process influenced by trade routes, the political dynamics of local kingdoms, and the transmission of Islamic knowledge through networks of scholars and local intellectuals. This process extended beyond the mere dissemination of religious teachings, encompassing significant social, cultural, and educational transformations within the community. A central figure in this Islamization process was Muhammad Basiuni Imran (1885–1976), the Maharaja Imam of the Sambas Sultanate, who played a pivotal role in reforming Islamic education and strengthening religious understanding among the local population. This article employs a historical-qualitative approach and library research to trace the trajectory of Islamization in Sambas while analyzing Basiuni Imran’s contributions within the socio-cultural context of the region. The findings reveal that Basiuni Imran’s thought reinforced Islamization through the modernization of Islamic education, the integration of Sharia with local customs, and the establishment of adaptive religious structures, thereby significantly shaping the religious life of the Sambas community from the colonial period to the early years of Indonesia’s independence.

This study was conducted at PT. Asmin Bara Bronang, Sepan Uring Village, Kapuas Tengah District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, with the aim of analyzing the productivity and influencing factors of the PC 300 excavator in coal getting activities to support the achievement of production targets. The objective of this research is to analyze the actual productivity and the factors affecting it in Sector 7 coal getting operations. The research method used field observation with a quantitative descriptive analysis approach. The results show that the productivity of the PC 300 excavator ranges from 127.12 to 224.29 tons/hour, with an average of 173.98 tons/hour. In several conditions, the productivity is still below the company’s target of 180 tons/hour. The analysis indicates that productivity is influenced by material conditions, particularly the Hardgrove Grindability Index (HGI) value of 47, which reflects relatively harder material with coarser particle size, and a moisture content of 22.71%, causing the material to be sticky and cohesive, thereby affecting the bucket filling process. In addition, operational factors such as bottom loading patterns, limited number of tailgate dump trucks, and suboptimal selection of dump truck types also contribute to productivity performance.  Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the productivity of the PC 300 excavator has not consistently met the company’s target. Therefore, improvement efforts are required, including the implementation of top loading methods, increasing the number of tailgate dump trucks, optimizing the selection of hauling equipment, and controlling material conditions that affect the digging process.

Immunization is a vital public health strategy to prevent infectious diseases and reduce morbidity and mortality. In Indonesia, the Pentabio vaccine protects against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b. Despite its effectiveness, post-immunization reactions such as fever and local pain are common, potentially affecting caregiver perceptions and immunization adherence. A descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among infants receiving Pentabio immunization at Posyandu in the UPT Timpah Community Health Center, Central Kalimantan. Data were collected through structured observation and caregiver interviews for infants aged 2–11 months. Fever (≥37.5°C) and local pain (tenderness, redness, or swelling) were assessed. Of the 30 infants, 40% were aged 2–3 months, 33.33% were 4–6 months, and 26.67% were 7–11 months, with slightly more males (53.33%). Post-immunization fever occurred in 60%, and local pain in 70%, with both reactions being mild, transient, and appearing within 24–48 hours. These findings highlight the commonality of mild adverse events, especially in early infancy, and underscore the need for clear caregiver education to maintain confidence in immunization services and ensure adherence to vaccination schedules.

The Indonesian hospitality industry is currently facing a post-pandemic "profitability paradox," a phenomenon where increased occupancy rates do not guarantee a proportional increase in net profit margins due to persistent operational cost inflation. This study aims to evaluate operational cost efficiency strategies and their impact on profitability across three star-rated hotels with contrasting locational and market characteristics: @Hom Hotel Kudus (Central Java), Grand Verona Samarinda (East Kalimantan), and FUGO Hotel Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan). This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with a comparative multiple-case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with top management, participant observation, and financial document analysis. The results reveal that geographical characteristics and market segments are the primary determinants in selecting efficiency strategies. (1) Hom Hotel Kudus, located in a secondary industrial area, implements Lean Operations strategies through workforce multi-skilling to address market price sensitivity. (2) Grand Verona Samarinda, in the East Kalimantan business hub, focuses on Supply Chain Engineering by localizing raw materials to mitigate high logistical costs. (3) FUGO Hotel Banjarmasin, in the lifestyle segment, adopts Technology-Driven Efficiency to suppress utility costs without degrading the guest experience. The study concludes that sustainable profitability is achieved not through aggressive cost-cutting, but through strategic cost management adaptive to local contexts. These findings provide a new managerial framework for the hospitality industry to shift from a revenue-centric orientation to value optimization.

This study examines the relationship between Dayak cosmology and Christian spirituality through the inculturation of the Munjong tradition within Catholic Dayak Tobak communities in Dusun Batu Besi, Desa Sejotang, West Kalimantan. As a post-harvest thanksgiving ritual, Munjong embodies a symbolic framework reflecting the interconnectedness of humans, nature, ancestors, and Jebata within the Dayak worldview. The tradition functions not only as a religious expression but also as a means of preserving cultural identity and fostering social cohesion. Within a predominantly Catholic context, Munjong has undergone reinterpretation, aligning with Eucharistic spirituality as the Church’s central expression of gratitude. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach combined with symbolic interaction analysis, this study shows that the religious values embedded in Munjong, including: gratitude, petitions for protection, and veneration of ancestors as spiritual mediators, correspond with Catholic teachings on divine providence, the communion of saints, and the sacredness of creation. The local Church recognizes Munjong as a cultural practice suitable for inculturation, provided it aligns with Christian doctrine, thereby offering opportunities for contextual liturgy and catechesis. The findings suggest that Munjong can serve as a bridge between faith and local culture while simultaneously reinforcing cultural identity and deepening the spiritual life of the community. The result of this study contributes to the discourse on inculturation, contextual pastoral practice, and strategies for sustaining indigenous traditions amid social change.

This study examines the effectiveness of the SIPELANDUKILAT program (Population Administration Service System for Border and Remote Areas) in improving population administration services in rural and remote areas of Tanjung Palas Timur District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province. Using qualitative descriptive methods with an inductive approach, data were collected through interviews with 10 informants, direct observation, and documentation. The theoretical framework employs Siagian's (2011) effectiveness theory, assessed through four dimensions: human resources, funds, facilities and infrastructure; quantity and quality of services; time; and procedures. Findings indicate that the program has not yet reached full effectiveness, particularly due to the absence of specialized training for operators, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and the transition from the distributed SIAK system to a centralized SIAK system that rendered offline recording equipment unusable. Supporting factors include qualified human resources, assistance from the Provincial Civil Registry Office, and high community participation. The study recommends that Bulungan Regency accelerate adaptation to the centralized SIAK system, improve facilities and infrastructure, and strengthen inter-agency cooperation to optimize population administration services in remote areas.

The ecological crisis affecting Central Kalimantan reveals systemic environmental degradation, ranging from deforestation and river pollution to peatland destruction caused by massive extractive activities. The impact of this crisis extends beyond ecological damage, disrupting the social, cultural, and spiritual order of the Dayak Indigenous communities. This article aims to reflect on Dayak communal spirituality as a path toward ecological conversion in the light of the encyclical Laudato Si’. Employing a qualitative approach through theological–contextual hermeneutics and library research, this study examines the dialogue between Dayak cosmology, communal life values, and the Catholic Church’s vision of integral ecology. The findings indicate that Dayak communal spirituality affirms a reciprocal relationship among humans, nature, the community, and the Creator, which resonates with the call for ecological conversion articulated in Laudato Si’. This article argues that integrating Dayak communal spirituality into the Church’s pastoral praxis holds transformative potential in fostering ecological awareness, strengthening the inculturation of faith, and encouraging the active participation of the faithful in caring for our common home in a sustainable manner.

This study aims to investigate the empirical impact of population size and unemployment rates on economic growth in Central Kalimantan Province. The research focuses on the regional context of Central Kalimantan, utilizing a longitudinal dataset covering the eleven-year period from 2013 to 2024. To achieve the research objectives, the study employs quantitative analysis through the SPSS software package, utilizing multiple linear regression as the primary analytical tool to examine the relationship between the dependent variable (economic growth) and the independent variables (population and unemployment). The findings of the analysis reveal a divergent impact between the two independent variables. The results indicate that the population has a significant and positive influence on economic growth in Central Kalimantan during the 2013-2024 period, suggesting that demographic factors play a crucial role in regional expansion. Conversely, the unemployment rate was found to have no significant effect on economic growth within the same timeframe. Furthermore, the study conducted a comprehensive suite of classical assumption tests to ensure the validity and reliability of the statistical model. The results of these diagnostics confirm that the regression model adheres to the assumption of normality, shows no evidence of multicollinearity among the variables, and is free from symptoms of heteroscedasticity. Additionally, the analysis concludes that the model does not exhibit any issues related to autocorrelation. Consequently, the regression model is deemed statistically robust and appropriate for providing an accurate representation of the economic dynamics in Central Kalimantan.

This study examines the interrelationship between the implementation of administrative ethics in civil service, the professionalism of State Civil Apparatus (ASN), and the quality of public service delivery at the Provincial Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of Central Kalimantan, employing a qualitative case study approach. Through in-depth interviews, structured observations, and document analysis, the research finds that integrity, transparency, and ethical accountability function not merely as moral norms but as structural foundations that reinforce ASN professionalism in performing service functions, particularly within licensing processes that demand administrative certainty and responsiveness. Empirical findings indicate that professionalism—reflected in technical competence, procedural discipline, and ethical commitment—acts as a catalyst linking ethical values to effective and adaptive public service performance. Nevertheless, the study also identifies structural and cultural impediments, including regulatory inconsistencies, fragmented coordination, and limited training opportunities, all of which hinder the internalization of ethical principles and professional practice within the bureaucracy. Theoretically, the study posits that harmonizing administrative ethics and professionalism is a prerequisite for achieving key indicators of good governance, such as responsiveness, service effectiveness, and institutional accountability. Practically, the study recommends strengthening ethics training, enhancing ASN professional capacity, and advancing managerial reforms grounded in modern governance as strategic efforts to sustainably improve public service quality.
