Adolescent career independence is a crucial aspect in facing the increasingly competitive world of work. This article discusses the role of education and environment in shaping adolescent career independence. Education, both formal and non-formal, provides the foundation of skills and knowledge needed to enter the world of work. On the other hand, the environment, including family, peers, and social communities, plays a role in shaping adolescents' mindsets, values, and motivations in planning their future. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study to explore the factors that influence adolescent career independence. The results show that quality education, effective career guidance, and positive environmental support contribute greatly to increasing adolescent readiness to make career decisions independently. In conclusion, collaboration between education, family, and society is key to building a young generation that is independent and ready to face the challenges of the world of work.

This study aims to analyze the integration between career guidance, career development, and the curriculum of Vocational High Schools (SMK) in an effort to improve the quality of graduates who are ready to work. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected from various literature sources and previous research. The results of the analysis indicate that the synergy between career guidance, career development, and relevant curriculum can improve the competence and work readiness of SMK graduates. The implementation of a structured career guidance program, the development of an industry-based curriculum, and collaboration with the business world/industry (DUDI) are the keys to achieving these goals.    

Career guidance helps individuals choose, prepare, and plan their chosen career for the future.  This research aims to determine the description of students' career planning in class XI TKJ Mandiri Vocational School Datuk Kabu Deli Serdang and the influence of career guidance on students' career planning.  This research is a type of quantitative research.  The design of this research is Pre-Experimental Designs in the form of One Group pretest-posttest Design.  A questionnaire with a Likert scale was used to collect data.  The results of the research show that the career planning of students majoring in Class XI TKJ at SMK Mandiri Datuk Kabu Deli Serdang is influenced by career guidance.  The results of data analysis carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistics V.26 program show that the Sig.  (2-tailed) is 0.000.  If 0.000<0.05 then, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.  Thus, it was found that there was an influence on students' career planning both before and after being given career guidance.

However, the nuanced cadet perspectives spotlight a need for refined emphasis on the practical application of English proficiency in real-world maritime scenarios. Cadet self-assessment underscores both confidence in academic intelligence and an identified need for additional language support, calling for targeted interventions. Exploring professional competences uncovers a disparity between technical proficiency and English Maritime communication, highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to bridge this gap. Cadet motivations vary from a genuine passion for maritime activities to the allure of lucrative career prospects and international recognition. Recognizing this diversity urges the need for personalised career guidance and mentorship programmes. The research also sheds light on English Maritime and Literacy proficiency, differentiating between basic skills and the ability to handle complex communication scenarios. Recommendations include integrating advanced language modules and tailored language support initiatives within the curriculum, ensuring a seamless development of linguistic skills alongside technical competences. In conclusion, this research offers a comprehensive understanding of maritime education at STIP Jakarta, unveiling challenges and opportunities that resonate globally. The synthesis of findings and recommendations forms a compass for refining pedagogical approaches, fostering linguistic and technical adeptness in future maritime professionals. This voyage towards enhancement is not merely a localized pursuit but a contribution to the broader discourse on cultivating global competence in maritime education.
