A safe and inclusive learning environment is an important factor in supporting the educational process. However, various forms of bullying behavior, such as teasing, giving negative nicknames, and social exclusion, are still found in schools and may hinder the creation of a comfortable and child-friendly learning environment. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding of bullying and its impacts, as well as to instill the values of mutual respect as an effort to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. The activity was conducted at SD Negeri 2 Muara Batu, Aceh Utara Regency, through the XXXVIII Community Service and Empowerment Program (KKN-PPM) of Malikussaleh University in 2026. The methods used were educational and participatory approaches implemented through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The activities were carried out through socialization sessions, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, simulations, and educational games. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the forms, causes, and impacts of bullying, including verbal, physical, and social bullying. In addition, students demonstrated more positive attitudes, such as increased awareness of respecting differences, treating peers with respect, reducing teasing behavior, and developing empathy and concern for others. The activity also received positive responses from the school, as it was considered supportive of character education and the creation of a more conducive learning atmosphere. Therefore, anti-bullying education through educational and participatory approaches can serve as an effective strategy for creating a safe, comfortable, and inclusive learning environment for elementary school students.

Primary education is crucial for child development, especially at the elementary school level. Children begin to acquire various basic knowledge that will shape their cognitive, social, and emotional abilities. However, reality shows that schools can also become sites of aggressive behavior in the form of bullying. According to the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (2023), cases of bullying in elementary schools have shown an increasing trend over the past five years. The purpose of this activity is to broaden students' understanding of bullying and its impacts, foster empathy and mutual respect, and strengthen the roles of teachers and parents in creating a safe and inclusive school environment. Findings indicate the presence of students who still lack understanding regarding types of bullying, with a high category showing that some individuals remain frequent targets of bullying. This may be caused by factors such as physical differences, social status, family background, or weak social support from peers. This condition indicates that schools still need to implement preventive and intervention approaches to protect students who are vulnerable to bullying.

Bullying cases among elementary school students have become increasingly alarming because they negatively impact children’s psychological, social, and moral development, making early intervention essential. This community service project was designed to strengthen students’ understanding and character formation as a preventive effort against bullying behavior. The program was carried out at SD Wonolelo, a rural elementary school, involving 18 sixth-grade students and one accompanying teacher who participated actively in each session. The methods used consisted of interactive socialization and role-playing activities implemented through three stages: delivery of material, interactive question-and-answer discussion, and final evaluation. The results show a significant increase in students’ comprehension of bullying, rising from 30% before the activity to 90% afterward, indicating the program’s strong impact on learning. Beyond improved understanding, the initiative successfully cultivated empathy, cooperation, and social awareness among students so that they not only refrain from bullying but also feel responsible for preventing it within their environment. Overall, the program proved effective in promoting anti-bullying awareness, shaping positive character traits, and supporting the development of a safer and more inclusive culture at the elementary school level.

Bullying is an aggressive act that is often repeated and directed at individuals in a weaker position, causing detrimental effects on psychological aspects, particularly children's self-esteem. When children's self-esteem is low, they tend to consider themselves worthless and choose to avoid social interaction. This study aims to analyze the correlation between Bullying behavior and self-esteem levels among elementary school students. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. All 97 students in grades IV, V, and VI at SD Negeri 11 Banda Aceh were used as research subjects through total sampling. The questionnaire used included indicators of Bullying behavior and self-esteem levels. Based on the data obtained, of the 54 students identified as experiencing high levels of Bullying behavior, 44 children or 45.4% showed low self-esteem. On the other hand, of the 43 students who were exposed to low levels of Bullying, 35 of them, or about 36.1%, had high self-esteem. The chi-square test in this study produced a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between Bullying patterns and self-esteem levels in children. Thus, it can be concluded that an increase in Bullying experiences in the school environment has an impact on the decline in students' self-esteem.

Bullying is one of the issues that frequently occurs in elementary school environments and has serious impacts on children’s psychological, social, and academic development. Efforts to prevent and address bullying are essential through education involving students, teachers, and the surrounding community. This study aims to describe the role of Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata, KKN) students in providing anti-bullying education at UPT SDN 033915 Pasi. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through observation, simple interviews, and documentation of the anti-bullying seminar activities conducted by KKN students at the school. Educational strategies were implemented through lectures, discussions, Q&A sessions, and the use of simple visual media. Students’ responses were very positive, demonstrated by their enthusiasm during activities and increased understanding of the dangers of bullying. The study concludes that KKN students play an important role in preventing bullying in elementary schools, while also serving as a tangible contribution of students as agents of social change.

Following their primary education at home, children attend school where they learn to read, write, and count. Aside from that, school is a place where children can develop their minds and learn about morals and ethics. As a second learning environment after home, schools should provide students with opportunities to hone and gain knowledge for their future needs. However, the prevalence of bullying in the school environment scares some students. The method of this research uses an outreach campaign to educate elementary school students about bullying prevention. As a result of this service, bullying among elementary school students continues in the school environment. This hurts the behavior of children who are still young during their growth and development.

Elementary school learning is often an important context in understanding the role of self-esteem in preventing bullying. In situations where direct interaction is limited, the role of self-esteem is key in shaping students' responses to social pressures such as bullying. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method to explore how self-esteem influences and can be used to prevent bullying at the elementary school level. This article presents an in-depth literature review related to the role of self-esteem in preventing bullying in elementary school environments. By analyzing eight related articles, this study identified that high self-esteem acts as a significant protective factor against the tendency to become victims of bullying. On the other hand, children with low self-esteem tend to be more vulnerable to bullying behavior. The findings of this study highlight that self-esteem plays an important role in reducing bullying behavior among elementary school students. The selected articles suggest that increasing self-esteem can reduce the likelihood of bullying and help students cope with potentially detrimental social pressures.
