Breast milk dam is a swelling of the breast due to an increase in venous and lymph flow, causing breast milk dam. Data (SDKI) showed that 42% of mothers experienced breast milk dams. Breast milk dams are caused by discontinuous breastfeeding, the baby has not breastfed properly, improper breastfeeding position, wearing BH that is too tight, nipple abnormalities, absence of breast care before and after childbirth and lack of maternal knowledge about breast care. The aim is to determine the relationship between breastfeeding position and breast care with the incidence of breast milk dam in the working area of Sei.Langkai Health Center, Batam City 2023. The method in this study used quantitative research with analytical descriptive research and used a Cross Sectional research design, the sample in this study was 65 postpartum women, statistical tests using Chi-Square, purposive sampling technique. The distribution of breastfeeding positions was not correct as many as 36 postpartum women (55.4%), postpartum women did not perform breast care as many as 55 postpartum women (84.6%), the majority of postpartum women who experienced breast milk dams were 36 postpartum women (55.4%). The results of statistical analysis with Chi-Square found that there was no relationship between breastfeeding position and the incidence of breast milk dam with a value (P-Value) = 0.099 where (P < ?) = 0.05, and there was a relationship between breast care and the incidence of breast milk dam with a value (P-Value) = 0.030 where (P < ?) = 0.05. The conclusion is that there is no relationship between breastfeeding position and the incidence of breast milk dam and there is a relationship between breastfeeding position and breast milk dam. it is hoped that midwives and other health workers can teach mothers directly during breastfeeding how to do the correct breastfeeding position and breast care technique.

Breast milk production can be influenced by two factors, namely production and expenditure. Use a warm compress, namely warm water which is then compressed onto the breasts using a towel. Not infrequently non-medical therapy as above is often applied to postpartum mothers whose breast milk has not yet come in, of course first by conducting training with the puskesmas coordinator midwife, to improve maximum service. The research was carried out by determining the initial level of pain intensity (pretest) before giving a warm compress and then continuing with measuring the pain intensity (posttest) after giving a warm compress. The results of the Independent sample t test showed P Value = 0.001, meaning p < 0.05, stating that there is a relationship between warm compresses and pain intensity in mothers with breast milk dams at the Pratama SAM Kampung Baru Clinic, Medan Maimun in 2023. Other research on the effectiveness of compresses Varney said that warm compresses are considered the right action to relieve pain, and for some women who experience problems with breast milk, it is known that using warm compresses alternately can provide a feeling of comfort. Apart from that, the intense pain when there is a blockage in the breast means that mothers tend to choose the easiest method, one of which is a warm compress.

In Indonesia, there were 35,985 postpartum mothers who experienced ASI dams or (15.60%) postpartum mothers, and in 2015 postpartum mothers who experienced ASI dams were 77,231 or (37.12%). The increasing incidence of ASI dams is one of the health problems in Indonesia. Where this greatly affects the postpartum period, namely the failure to provide breast milk to infants and one of the failures to achieve coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. This study aims to determine the determinants that influence the occurrence of breast milk dams in postpartum mothers in Bulukumba Regency. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a population of 30 postpartum mothers using total sampling. The results showed that the nipple length was the most influential factor among the five factors causing breast milk dams in the working area of the Ujung Loe Health Center, Bulukumba Regency. This is based on a simple linear regression test obtained a p value of 0.04. Conclusion: From the results of the research conducted, it is known that all respondents who experienced breast milk retention were 19 mothers and 11 mothers who did not experience breast milk retention. After statistical tests were carried out using a simple linear regression test, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the causal factors, namely the nipples being too long and the occurrence of breast milk dams with a p value of 0.001.

Breastfeeding is one of the best for babies because by breastfeeding the baby's nutritional needs will be met, at the age of more than 25 years, a third of women in the world (38%) agree not to breastfeed their babies (IDHS, 2012). Breastfeeding is an unrivaled way of providing ideal food for the healthy growth and development of babies. In addition, it has a unique biological and psychological effect on the health of mothers and babies. Anti-infective substances contained in breast milk help protect the baby against disease. However, breastfeeding is not always able to run normally, not a few mothers complain such as breast swelling due to the accumulation of breast milk, because the milk is not expelled or sucked by the baby (Heryani, 2012). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship. To determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of breastfeeding mothers about ASI dams at PBM Hj. Mariani Makassar City. This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross sectional study approach. population and sample were all postpartum mothers from December 2021 to February 2022 (13 people) with accidental sampling technique which was then analyzed using chi-square. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between mother's knowledge and attitudes towards breastfeeding dams. It is hoped that breastfeeding mothers and families will be active in finding out about ways to prevent breast milk dams
