This community service aims to provide understanding and skills in using comics and AR media as well as understanding biology material by high school students. The community service was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Raja Ampat involving 43 students. Measurement of student responses using a questionnaire with six statements on a scale of 1 - 4. The measurement data was calculated to obtain the average score and percentage of student responses. The results of the community service show that the average total score is 86.53 which indicates that overall the student response is very good to the community service activities that have been carried out. Student responses are dominated by agree and strongly agree. The largest percentage of disagree, namely 23.26%, is shown by students, especially in the statement that AR applications can be run easily, but the average total score still reaches the good category for this statement. The community service has provided students with an understanding of how to learn biology in an interesting way and provides benefits to improve their understanding. Students agree that the material presented adds to their insight regarding comics and AR, are able to install AR applications on their mobile devices, improve their understanding of biology material, is interesting and provides benefits for them.

This community service program aims to enhance students’ knowledge and awareness regarding natural cosmetic formulations through training on the development of a natural deodorant balm, “Nature DeoBalm.” The activity was conducted at the Entrepreneurship Laboratory of UIN Palangka Raya and involved fifth-semester students of the Biology Education Department as participants. The training integrates promotive and applicative approaches, combining theoretical education on the risks of synthetic deodorants with direct observation of the production process for natural deodorant balm. The program emphasized the use of safe, plant-based ingredients such as beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, vitamin E, and essential oils, which are known for their antibacterial, moisturizing, and skin-protecting properties. The implementation included several stages: preparation, material presentation, demonstration of the formulation process, product observation, evaluation, and documentation. Results showed that students demonstrated increased understanding of natural cosmetic components, formulation techniques, and the benefits of natural deodorants. They also developed a heightened awareness of environmentally friendly personal care products and showed interest in exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in herbal-based cosmetics. This program highlights the importance of introducing natural cosmetic innovation in higher education environments as a way to build scientific literacy, practical skills, and entrepreneurial competence. Overall, the activity successfully provided meaningful learning experiences and promoted the utilization of natural ingredients as sustainable alternatives to synthetic deodorant products.

This study aims to assess how well the Problem-Based Learning learning model improves the learning outcomes of Science High School Negeri 1 Nanusa grade XI students studying the Structure and Function of Plant Tissues. Learning biology frequently calls both a thorough conceptual grasp as well as an instructional strategy that may best engage pupils. The Classroom Action Research methodology is used in this study in two cycles, each with two meetings. Pre-tests, post-tests, observation of teacher and student activities, and documentation of the learning process were used to gather data. The study's findings demonstrated that using the Problem-Based Learning paradigm improved student learning outcomes' average score from 70 in the first cycle to 82 in the second. Additionally, the percentage of classical completeness rose dramatically from 40% to 90%. Furthermore, the second cycle appeared to have better results regarding students' active participation in group discussions, comprehension of the subject matter, and capacity to communicate group work outcomes. These results suggest that biology instruction at the secondary school level benefits greatly from using problem-based learning. This methodology promotes students' active participation, conceptual comprehension, and improved academic performance.

Nucleic acids play a vital role in the process of protein synthesis, which is the core of genetic regulation in cells. This process involves a complex mechanism of DNA, RNA, and ribosomes working in a coordinated manner. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) functions as a genetic blueprint that stores information for protein synthesis. Through the process of transcription, DNA is transcribed into messenger RNA (ribonucleic acid) (mRNA) in the cell nucleus. mRNA carries the genetic code to the cytoplasm, where ribosomes act as translation centers. Ribosomes, together with transfer RNA (tRNA), read the codon sequence on mRNA to determine the sequence of amino acids that will be assembled into polypeptides. This process, called translation, involves complex interactions between mRNA, tRNA, and ribosomes to ensure that the resulting protein is in accordance with genetic instructions. In addition, the role of non-coding RNA, such as microRNA and riboswitches, is also important in regulating gene expression post-transcriptionally. A deep understanding of the mechanisms of DNA, RNA, and ribosomes has opened up great opportunities in biotechnology and medicine, such as gene therapy and RNA-based drug development. Thus, the analysis of the role of nucleic acids becomes an important foundation in the exploration of molecular biology and genetics.
