Sufism as a spiritual approach has a great potential to prevent mental health problems among Generation Z students at UIN Walisongo Semarang. This is because Sufism focuses on inner balance, self-awareness, and strengthening spiritual values that can be a source of psychological resilience. This study aims to investigate how Sufism practices such as dhikr, self-reflection, and spiritual guidance can help prevent mental health problems, such as stress, anxiety, and loneliness among Generation Z students. The method used in this study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological design. Data were obtained from in-depth interviews with students, observations of religious activities on campus, and focus group discussions, then analyzed thematically. Interviews were conducted with three students: Wilda Ismatus Sarifah (Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training), Sinta Wahdatul Khusna (Faculty of Tarbiyah of Social and Political Sciences), and Umi Fathonah (Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training). The study found that regular Sufism practice guided by experienced individuals helped students feel more meaningful, more socially connected, and develop coping strategies. This was associated with reduced symptoms of stress and anxiety, as well as improved well-being. The study recommends integrating Sufism-based spiritual programs into campus counseling services and character development activities. It also recommends training spiritual mentors and fostering collaboration between student welfare units and religious institutions on campus to support the mental health of young people.

This study examines students’ interest in participating in the Al-Kautsar Tahfidz Dormitory Program at MAN 1 Baubau and identifies the factors influencing their participation. The study also seeks to provide a deeper understanding of how both internal and external conditions shape students’ willingness to engage in the program. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with dormitory supervisors, participating students, and non-participating students. Additional supporting information was also gathered through informal discussions and observation in the dormitory environment to strengthen the data validity. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing in an iterative process to ensure accurate interpretation. The findings indicate that students’ interest is shaped by internal factors, such as religious motivation, the desire to memorize the Qur’an, and self-improvement, as well as external factors, including parental support, peer influence, program socialization, and the religious dormitory environment. Conversely, low interest is associated with limited family support, low self-confidence in Qur’anic literacy, competing activities outside school, and perceptions of a demanding dormitory schedule. Overall, the program contributes positively to students’ religious character, discipline, and Qur’anic memorization skills, although variations in student interest remain evident depending on their personal and environmental conditions.

Esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula is a congenital anomaly requiring early diagnosis and prompt surgical correction. Gross type D esophageal atresia, characterized by both proximal and distal tracheoesophageal fistulas, is an exceedingly rare variant that poses significant diagnostic and operative challenges. We report a case of a full-term female neonate with a birth weight of 3,200 grams who presented with hypersalivation since the first day of life, accompanied by coughing and choking during feeding. Orogastric tube insertion failed, with the tube arrested at approximately 15 cm. The patient was referred with a diagnosis of neonatal pneumonia and suspected esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula. Physical examination revealed tachypnea, chest wall retraction, and respiratory distress requiring ventilatory support. Babygram demonstrated the orogastric tube tip arrested at the proximal esophageal pouch with distal gastrointestinal air. Contrast esophagography confirmed proximal esophageal atresia at the upper thoracic level with suspected proximal fistula. Associated findings included bilateral pneumonia, right upper lobe atelectasis, and vertebral anomalies suggestive of VACTERL association. Intraoperative findings confirmed Gross type D esophageal atresia with proximal and distal tracheoesophageal fistulas. Both fistulas were excised, followed by primary esophageal anastomosis and transanastomotic nasogastric tube placement. Gross type D esophageal atresia is a rare congenital anomaly that should be considered in neonates presenting with hypersalivation, failed orogastric tube insertion, and respiratory distress. Anatomical subtype confirmation relies on intraoperative findings. Early surgical repair can be performed successfully; however, associated anomalies necessitate careful long-term follow-up.

Background: Cesarean section (CS) is a mode of delivery frequently used in women with high-risk pregnancies. Over the past two decades, the rate of CS has increased significantly worldwide. Although CS can be a life-saving intervention when performed based on appropriate medical indications, it may also result in adverse outcomes for both mothers and infants and increase the clinical and economic burden on healthcare systems. Limiting CS rates can be achieved through the control of modifiable risk factors. Purpose: This study aimed to describe the factors contributing to the occurrence of cesarean section. Method: This study employed a descriptive cross-sectional design and was conducted at Singasana Regional General Hospital, Tabanan Regency, from February to May 2025. The study sample consisted of 259 women who underwent cesarean delivery during the period 2020–2024. Data were collected through a review of medical records using a checklist instrument. Univariate analysis was performed to describe maternal characteristics and indications for cesarean section. Result: Most cesarean deliveries occurred in women aged 20–35 years (77.99%) and in multiparous women (48.65%). The most dominant maternal factor was a previous cesarean section (37.6%), while the most common fetal factor was fetal distress (42.7%). Conclusion: Maternal age of 20–35 years, multiparity, a history of previous cesarean section, and fetal distress were the dominant factors associated with cesarean delivery. These findings highlight the importance of early antenatal risk screening and optimal labor management to reduce unnecessary cesarean sections and improve maternal and neonatal safety.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by persistently high blood sugar levels, which can lead to complications such as diabetic foot issues. A crucial aspect for healthcare professionals providing care to DM patients is assessing the patient's level of adherence and understanding regarding self-care and disease management. Data from the 2023 SKI (Indonesian Health Survey) indicates there were 118,184 cases of Diabetes Mellitus in Central Java. Foot care education delivered via remote services assists patients in performing proper foot care to prevent complications associated with the condition. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of an animated video based on the Theory of Planned Behavior in improving the knowledge and adherence of patients with diabetic ulcers. A quasi-experimental design was employed, utilizing a one-group pre-test and post-test approach with a control group. Incidental sampling was used to select 60 respondents. The Mann-Whitney test yielded a p-value of < 0.05 (0.017), demonstrating that the animated video based on the Theory of Planned Behavior was effective in enhancing both adherence and knowledge among patients with diabetic ulcers. The findings suggest that this animated video, leveraging audiovisual media, can be implemented in educational settings to help prevent foot complications in patients with diabetes.

This study analyzes the minimum age of marriage in Islamic jurisprudence and compares it with the positive law regulations in Indonesia and Malaysia. Using a normative legal method with comparative and conceptual approaches, the study draws on primary sources, including the Qur'an, hadith, Law Number 16 of 2019 on Marriage in Indonesia, and the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984 in Malaysia. The analysis focuses on how Islamic legal principles concerning marriage eligibility are interpreted and incorporated into contemporary legal frameworks in both countries. The findings reveal that Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) associates marital readiness with the concept of baligh (puberty) without prescribing a specific numerical age, whereas state law establishes fixed minimum age requirements to safeguard the rights and welfare of women and children. Indonesia sets the minimum marriage age at 19 years for both males and females, while Malaysia prescribes 18 years for males and 16 years for females, with judicial dispensation available in both jurisdictions under certain circumstances. These legal arrangements demonstrate each country's effort to harmonize classical Islamic jurisprudence with contemporary social protection objectives through institutional ijtihad, reflecting a balance between religious principles, legal certainty, and public welfare in regulating marriage.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that may persist into adulthood and affect academic, social, and occupational functioning. In adult patients, ADHD is frequently associated with an increased risk of Substance Use Disorder (SUD), raising concerns regarding the potential for misuse and dependence related to stimulant medications used in ADHD therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy for adult ADHD and to review the risk of stimulant misuse and dependence based on current scientific evidence. The method employed in this study was a literature review using data obtained from national and international journals indexed in Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar published between 2017 and 2026. The findings indicated that stimulant medications, such as methylphenidate and amphetamine, were effective in reducing the core symptoms of ADHD by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine activity in the central nervous system. Most studies reported that the use of stimulant medications at therapeutic doses and under medical supervision was not significantly associated with an increased risk of substance misuse or dependence. The risk of misuse was more commonly observed in cases involving non-medical use and inadequate clinical monitoring. In addition to pharmacological therapy, non-pharmacological approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) also contributed to improving treatment outcomes and patients’ quality of life. Therefore, the use of stimulant medications in adult ADHD patients may be considered relatively safe and effective when administered rationally, individually, and under appropriate medical supervision.

Dysphagia in extremely elderly patients represents a significant clinical challenge because it is frequently associated with frailty, malnutrition, and an increased risk of aspiration. Multifactorial etiologies and atypical clinical manifestations may complicate diagnosis and delay appropriate management. This study aimed to describe the diagnostic evaluation and clinical findings of dysphagia in an extremely elderly patient through a case report supported by a scoping review. A 105-year-old woman with chronic progressive dysphagia underwent comprehensive assessment, including physical examination, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, histopathological evaluation, and chest radiography. Relevant literature on dysphagia in geriatric populations was reviewed to provide contextual understanding of diagnostic challenges and underlying etiologies. The evaluation revealed chronic active gastritis and a hamartomatous polyp in the gastroesophageal region without evidence of malignancy. Comprehensive assessment successfully excluded malignant and acute obstructive causes, emphasizing the complexity of dysphagia diagnosis in extremely elderly individuals with frailty and aspiration risk. These findings underscore the importance of endoscopic and histopathological examinations in distinguishing benign from malignant etiologies and support early recognition of multifactorial non-malignant causes to optimize clinical management and reduce the risk of adverse outcomes in this vulnerable population
